The Stomach by Vanessa Hamilton
The stomach is a j-shaped muscular organ that acts like a bag or sac to collect and churn food with digestive juices. It functions as an important organ in the digestive tract. It is located between the esophagus and the small intestines.

Functions of the Stomach (Digestive) When the stomach fills with food, the rugae stretch out and disappears. Hydrochloric Acid is secreted by glands in the mucous membrane lining of the stomach. Then passes through the remaining part of the digestive system. Food mixes with the hydrochloric acid and other gastric juices to form a liquid mixture called chyme.
