This document outlines the assignment schedule and peer review process for Prof. Dr. Ron Martinez's writing course. It provides the due dates for drafts of Assignments 9, 10, and 11, as well as the dates that peer and professor feedback are due. It also lists the peer review pairings for Assignment 9 and review groups for Assignments 10 and 11. 2. Assignment schedule
• Assignment 9 (due June 1st - first draft – even if
incomplete, peer reviewed + professor reviewed)

• Assignment 10 (due June 14th - redraft 1, peer
reviewed x2)

3. Feedback: Give and you shall receive!
• Students who do not give their peers feedback on
Assignment 9 will not receive feedback from me
until they do;
• students who do not give their peers feedback on
Assignments 10 or 11 will not receive feedback
on their final papers from me until they do.
• On any of the assignments, credit for the
assignment will only be granted if feedback has
been returned to assigned pair(s).

12. How to do peer feedback
1. Turn on “controlar alterações”
2. Read through focusing on content (but don’t be afraid to
mark up the paper at this point)
3. Use the rubric (same for Essay 9, 10 and 11), provide
scores and make comments.
4. (If you cannot meet in person.) Go back and “screencast”
your explanation of the marks/comments you made on
the draft.
5. You can use the rubric scores to help guide your feedback.
6. You may use Portuguese if you prefer.
7. Send feedback to peer(s) and me via email.

• What you need: computer, microphone,
YouTube account
• Download at www.screencast-o-matic.com
• Be sure to “download + install” (I do not
recommend the web interface accessible
using the “Start Recording” button)
• If you miss (or forget) today’s demo, a short
demo is also available at the screencast-o-
matic website.

15. Screencasting Tip: Use color codes
While reading through the peer’s paper the first time,
you may notice things that you like, or that you think
need rewording, or that you do not understand. It is
best to “color code” these things you notice, and then
change/comment on them as you screencast.
GREEN = “I like this”
BLUE = “You should change this”
PINK = “I don’t understand this”
