Aim of this Presentation…
To recognize “Contributor Qualities” in
action and understand why
contributors are valued so much at
work place?
WHO IS CONTRIBUTOR ?
The person who :-
 Concern for the human beings.
 Take responsibility in any situation.
 Puts team’s success before personal success.
 Take pride in doing their work well.
• “Who am I?”
• A Contributors Identity is their vision, their
potential to contribute, their urge to contribute
and their eagerness to take responsibilities.
• A true contributor is identified by such values.
• Non-contributors and Contributors define
themselves differently.
Contributor’s Identity
NON-CONTRIBUTORS
They usually define themselves in
terms of
 What they have acquired in
life
 e.g. qualifications, position, years
of experience, etc.
 This is a static identity, based on
your past glories or past failures.
 This static identity leaves you
trapped in history.
They define themselves in terms of
 What they will become or
accomplish
 e.g. capacity to deliver,
commitment and ownership of
the organization’s purpose, etc.
 This is a dynamic identity
based on your “being” and
“becoming”.
CONTRIBUTORS
Difference Between
Non-Contributor & Contributor
The Contributor is committed to the responsibilities of his
role.
Times up..
Sorry sir…bye..
Don’t worry sir..
Work will be
completed before I
leave..
Contributors in work
place
Non-Contributors
in work place
•Sad
•Unproductive
•Non-responsible
•Happy
•Productive
•Responsible
Contributor is always ready to accept new
challenges and they enjoy their work….
This is a golden opportunity for
me to learn something new.. Let
me give it a try.
Non-contributor always afraid of doing
new things…..
Oh!......I wont be able to
do this work as I have
not done this kind of
work before …..
NON-CONTRIBUTOR FOCUS ON
PERSONAL SUCCESS
CONTRIBUTOR FOCUS ON
“WE” NOT ON “I”
TYPES OF IDENTITY
• The Identity of a person is mainly divided into two kinds.
• A) STATIC IDENTITY: Such an identity is very short
seen, short lived and very shallow. The person with such
identity presents himself by his Position, Awards,
Qualification, Power, Contacts etc.
• B) DYNAMIC IDENTITY: This kind of identity is a
contributors Identity which is very broad, open and
person with such an identity presents himself by his
ability to contribute, to take responsibility etc.
*STATIC IDENTITY is –
“I = My degrees and awards”
*DYNAMIC IDENTITY is –
“I = My power to contribute in the current
situation”
To clear our point about the
contributor’s identity we give the
example of the different persons and
there thinking about there duty.
Teacher
TEACHER’S IDENTITY
STATIC IDENTITY
1. I just want to do my duty.
2. I just want to complete my
course.
3. To teach things that out of
course is the west of time.
4. Behave like a teacher not a
friend.
5. I do not like this work at all.
DYNAMIC IDENTITY
1. I want to do my duty faithfully.
2. I want to helpful for the student
and the organization.
3. I want to teach the out of the
course that can help the
students.
4. I want to be a friendly to the
student.
5. I want to give my best to teach
the students.
• Qualifications and Awards
• Power and Position
• Past Achievement
• Knowledge Gained
Traits of a Static Person:
Traits of a Dynamic Person
• The difference I can make to the world
• The responsibility I carry
• My future potential for contribution
• Willingness to learn and grow.
• If a character inherits a million dollars from a rich aunt in the
course of a story, this may or may not result in the sort of
change in his personality or values or in his general outlook
on life that would make him count as an instance of dynamic
character in this special sense.
• He might remain the same cheerful, humble, easy-going,
out-going fellow he was before this fortunate turn of
events. Or he might remain the same bitter, cynical,
resentful, suspicious, selfish person he had always been. Or
he might continue to be the same smug, arrogant snob he's
already exhibited himself to be.
• In any of these cases, we'd have an instance of Static
character. Of course such a drastic change in one's
circumstances (whether good fortune or bad) might
motivate a change in one's outlook on life.
• And if -- but only if -- it results in this sort of change, we are
confronted with a Dynamic character.
Now, let see an intro to some living
legends or the well known contributor
personalities with their inspirative
thoughts and contributive works….

Guru greg Guru Gary
V/s
• This is one of the finest example to differentiate
between a static and a dynamic identity.
• One is Greg Chappell, former indian coach, who was a
static peronality and was the reason of india’s
downfall in world cricket.
• Other is Gary Kirsten, a dynamic perosnality, who
coached india to a famous world cup victory.
• A) Greg Chappell (Static Personality)
• Chappell tried to changed team india.
• He kept on appearing in media and kept on creating
controversies.
• He always thought he was better in cricket than others and
thought whatever he decided was correct.
• He did not listen to anyone and made controversial
decisions thinking he has the power to do it and misused
it.
• WHAT HAPPENED NEXT:
• Saurav ganguly, one of the finest indian captain
resigned from captaincy and lost his spot in the team.
• Sachin tendulkar faced one of the worst seasons in his
cricket career.
• Irfan pathan, a future all rounder lost confidence and
form.
• India lost to Bangladesh in World cup.
• India was thrown out of the world cup in the first
round and faced its worst worldcup campaign since
1992.
• A) Gary Kirsten (Dynamic Personality)
• Gary came in when Indian cricket was in its worst phase.
• He gave players confidence to perform at a bigger stage.
• He kept throwing balls in the net to all players whole day
even if he was tierd.
• He brought back confidence in the indian team to win.
• He never appeared in the media and remained behind the
scenes and was a silent and never took credit.
• WHAT HAPPENED NEXT:
• India defeated Australia in their backyard in Perth.
• India became the Number 1 testa nd one day team.
• India won the Asia cup after 15 years.
• India won the world cup after 28 years.
• Sachin tendulkar reached his peak form during
Kirsten’s term as coach.
• The Identity is a very important feature that
distinguishes a contributor from a non-contributor.
• A static identity is of a very small circumference and
is selfish. It does not benefit others and is very short
lived.
• A dynamic Identity is always beneficial to everyone
and is visionary.

Contributor’s Identity

NON-CONTRIBUTORS They usually define themselves in terms of  What they have acquired in life  e.g. qualifications, position, years of experience, etc.  This is a static identity, based on your past glories or past failures.  This static identity leaves you trapped in history. They define themselves in terms of  What they will become or accomplish  e.g. capacity to deliver, commitment and ownership of the organization’s purpose, etc.  This is a dynamic identity based on your “being” and “becoming”. CONTRIBUTORS

  • 12. NON-CONTRIBUTOR FOCUS ON PERSONAL SUCCESS CONTRIBUTOR FOCUS ON “WE” NOT ON “I”
  • 13. TYPES OF IDENTITY • The Identity of a person is mainly divided into two kinds. • A) STATIC IDENTITY: Such an identity is very short seen, short lived and very shallow. The person with such identity presents himself by his Position, Awards, Qualification, Power, Contacts etc. • B) DYNAMIC IDENTITY: This kind of identity is a contributors Identity which is very broad, open and person with such an identity presents himself by his ability to contribute, to take responsibility etc.

  • 19. Traits of a Dynamic Person • The difference I can make to the world • The responsibility I carry • My future potential for contribution • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • 20. • If a character inherits a million dollars from a rich aunt in the course of a story, this may or may not result in the sort of change in his personality or values or in his general outlook on life that would make him count as an instance of dynamic character in this special sense. • He might remain the same cheerful, humble, easy-going, out-going fellow he was before this fortunate turn of events. Or he might remain the same bitter, cynical, resentful, suspicious, selfish person he had always been. Or he might continue to be the same smug, arrogant snob he's already exhibited himself to be. • In any of these cases, we'd have an instance of Static character. Of course such a drastic change in one's circumstances (whether good fortune or bad) might motivate a change in one's outlook on life. • And if -- but only if -- it results in this sort of change, we are confronted with a Dynamic character.

  • 29. • This is one of the finest example to differentiate between a static and a dynamic identity. • One is Greg Chappell, former indian coach, who was a static peronality and was the reason of india’s downfall in world cricket. • Other is Gary Kirsten, a dynamic perosnality, who coached india to a famous world cup victory.
  • 30. • A) Greg Chappell (Static Personality) • Chappell tried to changed team india. • He kept on appearing in media and kept on creating controversies. • He always thought he was better in cricket than others and thought whatever he decided was correct. • He did not listen to anyone and made controversial decisions thinking he has the power to do it and misused it.
  • 31. • WHAT HAPPENED NEXT: • Saurav ganguly, one of the finest indian captain resigned from captaincy and lost his spot in the team. • Sachin tendulkar faced one of the worst seasons in his cricket career. • Irfan pathan, a future all rounder lost confidence and form. • India lost to Bangladesh in World cup. • India was thrown out of the world cup in the first round and faced its worst worldcup campaign since 1992.
  • 32. • A) Gary Kirsten (Dynamic Personality) • Gary came in when Indian cricket was in its worst phase. • He gave players confidence to perform at a bigger stage. • He kept throwing balls in the net to all players whole day even if he was tierd. • He brought back confidence in the indian team to win. • He never appeared in the media and remained behind the scenes and was a silent and never took credit.
  • 33. • WHAT HAPPENED NEXT: • India defeated Australia in their backyard in Perth. • India became the Number 1 testa nd one day team. • India won the Asia cup after 15 years. • India won the world cup after 28 years. • Sachin tendulkar reached his peak form during Kirsten’s term as coach.
  • 34. • The Identity is a very important feature that distinguishes a contributor from a non-contributor. • A static identity is of a very small circumference and is selfish. It does not benefit others and is very short lived. • A dynamic Identity is always beneficial to everyone and is visionary.
