Character Identification In the book Who Moved My Cheese? by Spencer Johnson, out of the
four main characters, I most resemble the little person Haw. Right away, it was obvious I was
not like the mice. I am a thinker. Sniff and Scurry reacted far too immediately for me. When the
change happened, they were already out in the maze seeing what they could find. Change tends
to affect me more heavily than it did the mice. I tend to use a combination of brainpower and
emotion when I am looking for my Cheese just like Hem and Haw. What makes me more similar
to Hem is the reaction to the change. When the Cheese goes missing, Hem experiences an
intense emotional reaction. He yells and screams because he feels entitled to his Cheese. He

In Marie Lu s dystopian book Legend, there are a wide variety of characters with varying and
backgrounds. Although the tale follows the lives of young girl June and outlaw Daniel (nicknamed
Day), many side characters are also introduced and developed throughout the course of the book.
All of these characters possess interesting names that enhance the plot in certain ways, and while
most of the characters names fit them, some do not.
To begin with, the name of the main character June refers to the month of the same name, which in
turn was named for the Roman Goddess Juno. Furthermore, the exact meaning of Juno is not fully
known, but it may be related to an Indo European root that translates to youth . Additionally, Juno
was the queen of the heavens in Roman mythology. She was also the protectress of women and
marriage, as well as the goddess of finance. June s name does a good job reflecting her personality,

may seem contradictory, but there is evidence that music is and has been a part of many deaf
people s lives. Music is and has been a part of the Deaf culture, including, but not limited to, Deaf
musicians, utilising music to teach speech. The primary purpose of this thesis was to explore the
relation between Deaf culture and music and examine the role of music in the deaf culture and to
relate the findings to current practices in music education programs for hearing impaired students
historically and presently. We also look at the introduction of sign language interpreters in live
vocal music performances as well pre recorded shows and music videos and also how it is being
adopted in the music industry. Secondary purposes of the study were to accumulate data of ways in
which the music industry has provided for the Deaf Communities by organising concerts and raves
for them.

Descriptive Essay On Basketball
Entering the gym resonates an immediate feeling of dedication. Double glass doors open,
making an odd creak that only those two doors are able to make. The sound of these doors
opening brings a chill down the spine. Once the gym is entered, there is a large brown trashcan
that hides in the corner, like a child that has done something wrong and is hiding from his or her
parent. Its orange bag loves to poke out past the can itself like a baby kangaroos head from its
mothers pouch. Two black ballholding racks lean against the wall. Each rack has three rows that
hold five basketballs per row. The metallic feeling to these racks are very cold and intense to the
touch. Life is a basketball, constantly bouncing up and down. All of the great basketball players
used one common tool to keep life more on the upside of the metaphor, a basketball. Michael
Jordan. LeBron James. Tim Duncan. Like they all used, the basketballs on this rack are exactly
identical. Deep Tangerine Men s basketballs, that have a light yellowish tint to them. Majestic
stripes swirl around the balls as like the markings on a zebra. The bar codes on the basketballs
are all whited out so that people cannot take and resell the balls. Jimmy Floyd , is written in large
black letters across the front of the balls. This is written to protect the basketballs like a mother
duck protects her ducklings. Unlike most gyms, the Floyd has an unusual blue plastic floor.
Hardwood is the normal choice for basketball gyms.

It has been said that all good things come to those who wait. For the fans of the Halo series, that
saying couldn t be any truer. After the Beta release allowed fans a short peek into the new game
they are most assuredly counting down the days until the October 27th release of Halo 5:

Within the past few years, the demand for organs has increased at an alarming rate. This is due
mostly to the fact that diseases and illnesses are becoming more prevalent and are brought on
due to a significant change in American lifestyles. Failing organs can be caused by certain ways of
living such as being a smoker or becoming obese. Many people are in need of a vital organor know
someone who needs an organ; these people are greatly impacted by a decision involving organ
donation. Vital organs, such as the brain, heart, kidneys, lungs, and liver are involved, which

Different countries have different systems to organize organ donation. These systems are
known as either opt out or opt in . The United States is currently under an opt in system which
basically means that we assume that everyone does not wish to become an organ donor, unless
is it made clear in their lifetime. An opt out system is one in which we assume that everyone
wishes to become an organ donor after death, otherwise made explicitly known during lifetime.
It is proposed that the solution to the organ shortage crisis in the United states is to adopt the opt
out system. This system makes more sense because if a person is so passionate about not being
a donor, they will voice that while they are living. Our current system does not encourage people
to actually take the time to make a decision about being an organ donor or not. Instead, the
system we currently have allows people to stay uninformed about decisions that could in the end
give someone else a shot at living their life. An article written in the European Journal of Health
Law talks about the bill of 2009 that allows presumed consent for organ donation in European
countries. Lisa Cherkassky, Lecturer in Law, includes specifics details written in the bill such
as, if a person during their lifetime has not registered to an objection to his body that after death,
it will be presumed that he [has] consented to such a donation. In the US, we currently must
register to donate, with a system like this, it would be the opposite (registering to not donate).
Cherkassky also includes how the bill seeks to protect people as well when it comes to death, she
says unless two registered medical practitioners have satisfied themselves that the person is dead,

One of the greatest talk shows of all time, The Tonight show has been entertaining Americans for
more than 60 years. The show, produced by NBC Productions, first hit the air under the name
Tonight in 1954. The show then settled on the name The Tonight Show in 1962. Among the name
change there were many additional changes that have taken place in the shows running. The show
originally had two openings, one for a news affiliate that began at 11:15 p.m. EST and another for
those viewers who joined in at 11:30. In 1965, then host Johnny Carson refused to appear until
11:30, thus the show s start time changed to 11:30 p.m. EST. This was not the only time that the
shows aired time had changed, in fact the aired time as well as length time changed multiple times

Each host brought a unique flare to the show, however there are four hosts; Jonny Carson, Jay
Leno, Conan O Brien and Jimmy Fallon, that gave the show its superior qualities, making it the
longest airing talk show of all time. Carson who hosted the show from 1962 to1992 is the
longest serving host to date. He was the Gold Standard of hosts. He exemplified charisma and
depth. He could do political and social commentary, comedy skits and handle all kinds of
interviews from the serious to the silly. Carson served as the role model for all other American
talk show hosts who followed him. Leno who hosted the show from 1992 to 2009 replaced
Carson after he retired. The format of the show remained largely unchanged, consisting primarily
of an opening humorous monologue, followed by several celebrity interviews, comedy sketches
and musical numbers. Though I don t feel Leno was as comical as Carson and his interview skill
were lacking, he had an aura that drew people in. This likability is what causes him to receive a
second tenure from 2010 to 2014, after O Brien left the network due to scheduling

Elon University Experience
College applications were filled out, SATs were taken, and Campbell University was not even a
thought in the back of my brain. It s funny how things work out in the end. From the very
beginning of college searching, Elon University was my top choice. This university had everything
I was looking for: great academic programs, study abroad opportunities, and a sense of community,
at least that s what I believed. Long story short, I was deferred from Elon until the Spring 2017
semester, taking that universityout of the picture. The other schools I applied to and was accepted
at, in order of next choice to last choice, were Wofford College, Mars Hill University, Wingate

In February, I received a letter from Campbell, inviting me to apply for more scholarships, 2 of
which were full tuition. At first, I wasn t interested, but with encouragement from my family, I
figured it was worth the shot, although, I still had no intention of attending Campbell. On the
day of the interview, I was given a tour of the campus, had the opportunity to meet many friendly
staff, and was informed of all the opportunities for students. Throughout the day, I decided that
the only way I would go to Campbell was if I was awarded an additional scholarship. When I

Wofford that I began to have doubts about attending there. A few days before the enrollment

evaluating my priorities, I decided that Campbell would be the place for me. I found that Campbell
had many more opportunities for me to practice my faith and live in a Christian community. I ve
