The Arthur Ashe Courage Award is defined by ESPN as the most prestigious sports
award (Moyer). Caitlyn Jenner in the 6 months she has been a woman has no
participated in sports. Bruce Jenner was the person who participated in the sport 39
years ago. Caitlyn doesn t even refer to Bruce as who she was, she refers to him as

Harris and Dylan Klebold marched into Columbine High School on with one
intention: to kill as many students and faculty as possible, a plan that was
estimated to be five months in the making was finally carried out. Loaded with a
variety of guns, pipe bombs, and knives, the two who were dubbed the trenchcoat
mafia successfully murdered 12 kids, one teacher and injured two dozen more

The Piano Lesson Analysis
In the book, The Piano Lesson Augustus Wilson tells a story about his family who
is struggling with their past. The story begins with a Boy Willie coming up from
the South to bring up the idea of selling the family s legacy, a piano, which he will
sell to buy the land that his ancestors were slaves on. The only problem is that his
sister Bernice owns half the pianoand she doesn t wantto let him sell it. Throughout
the play Wilson portrays the theme that we needto forget our past in order to move
forward in life. We will always remember our past, but we should not let it limit us
to what we can do. The piano represented the importance of slaves during slavery
times. During slavery Slaves were traded like objects and were not important to
their owners. For example as Wining Boy, Lymon, Boy Willie, and Doaker are
having a get together around the dining room table, Doaker begins his story to
explain the history of the piano and he says, ... To understand about that piano...
you got to go back to slavery time (42) . This shows how slaves were not treated
fairly or like humans in the past, unlike today where more and more people are
being treated equally. As doaker was finishing his story he says, Now she had her
piano and her niggers too (44). When the author goes from talking about the piano,
which is not human to talking about people it shows how slaves were nothing but
an accessory to their owners. By the end of Doaker s story it becomes clear on how
much the families past is affecting them right now in the present. The pianos physical
features also have a symbolic meaning in the play. During Doaker s story he
mentions the carving in the piano which shows the history behind the piano. Berniece
has many attachment to the piano. She refuses to play it, but also refuses to sell it.
The piano reminds Berniece of the sacrifices that her family had to make for the
piano. These attachments shows that Berniece has a hard time accepting and moving
forward from things that happen in the past. At the beginning of the book the author
writes, She is still in mourning for her husband after three years (3). The details about
Berniece that the author gives us shows how Berniece has a hard time of letting

What Is The Character OfThe House Of The Scorpion
The main character of The House of the Scorpion is named Matt who lives in a
place called Opium. Opium is a strip of poppy fields lying between the United
States and what used to be called Mexico. There is one problem for Matt because
he is the clone who was made in a lab by a scientist named Eduardo. In the real
world people think clones are animals or monsters. He is a special clone because he
is the clone of El Patron, a drug lord, who owns Opium. At the end, El Patron dies
which then causes Matt to have the title, The Lord of Opium
In the book The House of the Scorpion there are many characters that stand out, but
the one that stands out the most for me is Tom.Tom really stood out for me
because he was one of the people that was really mean and rude to as well as a
troublemaker to Matt the main character. For example it says, You re ugly, said the
boy.You look like a pig in a sty. Matt wanted to reply, but the habit of silence had
grown too strong. He could only glare at the intruder. In the hazy background of his
mind, he recalled a boy named Tom, who was bad. In this quote not only does it say
that Tom was bad, but Tom was also saying some rude things to Matt like calling
him ugly. As well as another quote in the story, That got you, didn t it? Wait ll I tell
your girlfriend how cute you are now.You smell like a pile of dung. This shows that
Tom is mean because he is telling Matt that he smells bad which I was thought to keep
things to myself if they are mean.
