The Medications She Takes For Her Mental Health Essay
I interviewed Susan on September 9, 2016 about the medications she takes for her mental health.
Susan is a 45 year old female. She has one daughter Hannah, age 16. Susan and Hannah s father were
divorced when Hannah was three years old. Hannah currently lives with Susan during the week and
visits her father, who lives about an hour away, every other weekend, some holidays, and several
weeks during the summer. Susan lives in Simi Valley and works full time in West Los Angeles to
support herself and daughter. Susan takes two psychopharmacology drugs for her mental health. The
first is a 20 mg fluoxetine (Prozac) pill which she takes once a day in the morning to help with her
depression. The second is a 1 mg Lorazepam (Ativan) pill which she takes for stress when needed.
She usually takes half a Lorazepam pill three to four times a week when she experiences anxiety and
chest pain. Rarely does she need to take Lorazepam during the day.
Susan started taking these medications approximately thirteen years ago, a couple years after she
divorced her husband. While married she had an extremely unhealthy relationship with her husband
and his family and she basically did slave labor for his family s carpet cleaning business for ten years.
Shortly after the divorce her ex husband remarried a woman who made Susan and Hannah s life
miserable. The new wife constantly threatened to take Susan to court to get custody of Hannah. She
was verbally abusive to Susan including calling her a

California Pizza Kitchen

FI 602: Financial Strategy and Valuation Fang Chen September 21, 2012
Introduction
In July of 2007, California Pizza Kitchen (CPK), a casual dining pizzeria started in California by co
owners Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax, was faced with the decision to invest in a stock repurchase
program. Led by Chief Financial Officer Susan Collyns, the financial team of CPK was reviewing the
preliminary results for the second quarter to determine if the stock repurchase program would provide
a significant financial leverage for the company. The goal was to determine if the company can
maintain the necessary financial stability to meet the expected growth trajectory for 2008 while
utilizing debt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only would this benefit the company, but would also benefit the stakeholders who just received
the additional 50% stock dividend that CPK issued.
Financial Leverage on WACC
When analyzing which debt financing option CPK should choose, the weight average cost of capital
(WACC) will provide an approximation on how much CPK must earn in order to satisfy the amount
financed. The values of WACC for the actual, 10%, 20%, and 30% options can be found in Appendix
A. It appears that the higher the financial leverage, the lower the WACC will be. Take for instance if
CPK chooses a 30% debt to capital situation, the ROE will be 11.1 % with a 9.2% WACC. In contrast,
at the actual value, the ROE is 9% with the WACC being 9.5% and could pose badly for CPK. As long
as CPK is comfortable with the high risk of a 30% debt to capital ratio, then it would be the most
beneficial in terms of adding economic value to the company, and for the shareholders, while
providing a high financial leverage.
Financial Leverage and Cost of Equity
The effect of financial leverage on the cost of equity is prevalent in the Modigliani Miller capital
structure theory. Since the financial leverage increases the cost of equity, it can be considered one of
the disadvantages of borrowing. As shown in Appendix A, the cost of equity, at each debt to capital
ratio, increases by 0.1% as the financial leverage increases by 10%. With a higher

Biography of Samuel F.B. Morse Essay
Samuel F. B. Morse was one of the greatest inventors of the 19th century; he was the invention of the
singled wire telegraph machine that influenced the Industrial Revolution in America and the Morse
code led way to many future innovations. Samuel Morse was not just an inventor; he was also a
painter that did works such as The Chapel of the Virgin at Subiaco and The Gallery of the Louvre
1831 1833 to portraits of famous politicians such as John Adams. Samuel F. B. Morse was born in
Charleston, Massachusetts on April 17, 1791. He was the son of a geographer and pastor Jedidiah
Morse and Elizabeth Ann Finley Breese. Samuel Morris was originally interested in painting; his
paintings usually put in more detail to the austere facial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Samuel Morse ran into problems during the development of the telegraph machine, the telegraph
machine could only transmit information for a little bit more than a few hundred yards due to the loss
of current over long distances. Not until Professor Leonard Gale, of New York University, that helped
improved Morse s design that used superior batteries and electromagnets that enabled it to transfer
currents over great distances. After the help of Gale, Samuel Morse had perfected his telegraph; it was
able to send signals over great distances. Although his Journey wasn t over, he now had to send his
work to Washington where he awaited to be approved by Congress. He attended both sessions of
Congress, from 1837 to 1838 and another one in 1842 to 1843. During the last day of the session,
which was March 3, 1843, he spent the whole day and part of the evening in the Senate chamber,
anxiously watching the progress of the passing of the various bills (Morse) to watch the bill get
passed, he was awarded $30,000 to set up the very first telegraph machine from Washington to
Baltimore. His first telegraph machine was made from household instruments that consisted of an old
picture or canvas frame fastened to a table; the wheels of an old wooden clock [...] and a short circuit
of a wire, embracing the helices of the electro magnet connected with the positive and negative poles
of the battery and terminating the mercury cups (Morse). His apparatus was so crude

Distributed Database Vs Centralized Database
Distributed Database vs Centralized Database centralized database: In a centralized database, all the
data of an organization is stored in a single place such as a mainframe computer or a server. Users in
remote locations access the data through the Wide Area Network (WAN) using the application
programs provided to access the data. In a centralized database, all data of an organization are kept in
a single computer as a central processor or server. Users in remote locations access data by using
WAN by application software provided to access data. The centralized database (the central processor
or server) should be able to satisfy all requests from the system; therefore, it creates restricted access.
But since all data resides in a single location it easier to maintain and support data. In addition, it is
easier to maintain the integrity of data, because once the data is stored in a centralized database, out of
date data is no longer available in other places. Distributed Database: In a distributed database, the
data is stored in storage devices that are in different physical locations. They are not attached to a
common CPU but the database is controlled by a central DBMS. In a distributed database, data is

Troilus And Cressida In The Odyssey
William Shakespeare s play Troilus and Cressida is a play covering the events leading up the mythic
Odyssey. Much like many modern works, as well as Shakespeare s own, the story plays host to a love
story between two characters, the titular, Troilus and Cressida. The pair are both Trojans, each from
noble houses; Troilus, son to Prima the king of Troy, and Cressida, daughter to Calchas a priest within
the city. The love affair betwixt the pair is interesting to say the least, as it appears early on in the text
to be one sided. In ACT I Scene 2, Cressida is introduced and speaks with her uncle, Pandarus. Here
Cressida talks with Pandarus and seems to think little of Troilus, comparing him disfavorably to his
elder brother Hector, O Jupiter, there s no comparison! (1.2 295) Cressida and Pandarus go back and

Cressida relents. The trio end their discussion with a vow whereto and henceforth all true men are to

The Sound Of Silence Movie Analysis
How did you respond to THE GRADUATE? Did the storyline and characters hold your interest?
What about Benjamin Braddock (played by Dustin Hoffman)? Did you in any way relate to his issues:
specifically, what will he end up doing with his life now that he is a college graduate; what will his
future be; will he ever genuinely fall in love?
And even more specifically: How did you respond to the finale, and to what occurs both in the church
and on the bus?
Also, what about the infamous Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft)? Was she little more than a villainess:
a completely selfish, self centered person? Or was there something deeper within her? Was there a
sense of sadness about her, a feeling that she was living a life unfulfilled?
THE GRADUATE (1967) is an American classic movie, directed by the very talented Mike Nichols,

Three Major Responsibilities Of The Federal Reserve System
The Federal Reserve System was signed by President Woodrow Wilson in 1913 and began operating
in 1914; to this day it is still the central banking system for the United States. The responsibilities of
The Federal Reserve are un ending and complex. Due to the frequent re occurring financial issues
occurring between the years 1906 1907, like many things The Fed has had to change in numerous
ways to adjust to the growing need of our expanding and evolving economy. The income for The
Federal Reserve comes from interest on the U.S government securities that are acquired through open
market operations (Federal Reserve education). Three major responsibilities of The Federal Reserve

The Federal Reserve increases its reserves by issuing loans to a commercial banking system. This
allows the bank that is borrowing reserves to disburse credits to the public. The Federal Reserve
Banks offer primary credit, secondary credit, and seasonal credit, to bank organizations each with its
own interest rate. Depending on if the Fed wants to decrease or increase the interest rate can be a
positive or negative effect to the public. If the rate is decreases it encourages banking organizations to
get more loans. When this is done the banks acquire more funds and are able to disburse more loans
the people.
The Federal Reserve System is composed of twelve board members. The Board of Governors consists
of seven of these members and the other five members are Reserve Bank presidents. This committee is
responsible for many things including: monitoring oversees open market operations; this is the top

Bootstrap Approach On Data Sampling Essay
Bootstrap Approach in Data Sampling
As shown in the previous chapter, the basic samples of data needed to calculate the confidence
intervals have distributions which depart from the traditional parametric distributions. Thus, classical
hypothesis testing procedures based on strong parametric assumptions cannot be used to estimate the
confidence intervals. In order to obtain results as reliable as possible, a statistical technique which is
applicable regardless of the form of the data probability density function has to be utilized. In other
words, this method should make no assumption about the different data distributions. One good
candidate is the bootstrap method.
The idea about bootstrapping is that we don t have enough data. To illustrate this technique, we
consider a clothing shop selling second clothing. In a week, sales per day varies with day. The second
week analysis also, shows a different trend to first week. As a business owner, one would like to
determine the customer behaviour and pattern so that planning can be done effectively to ensure
customer satisfaction. Therefore, an average or mean sales need to be determine for the first week.
This is done by taking resample data from the main data sample, which will produce a distribution
sample as indicated in (a) and (b) for week 2. The t test statistical analysis will not be the reasonable
method to determine the resalable mean value since it will recognise both (a) and (b) as normal
distribution, thus giving a

Gary Soto’s The Jacket Essay
All of us pass through adolescence before reaching adulthood. It is a crucial stage in everyone s life
that plays a big role in the adult life. The Jacket is a representation of Gary Soto s adolescent life. It is
a short story depicting his hardships as an adolescent as he battled with peer pressure and low self
esteem or lack of confidence caused by the ugly green jacket. The jacket serves as a symbol of his
personal battles, growth, maturity, and his readiness to face the cold and harsh challenges in his life.
The narrator strongly claimed that his clothes have failed him when he recalled the green jacket he
wore on his fifth and sixth grade. He believed that instead of looking like a champion, his day old

looked like in his new jacket. He felt that they were all laughing and belittling him while wearing that
awful jacket. During lunch time, he stepped out to the field and wanted to play kickball. Despite of the
cold atmosphere, he removed his jacket and started playing. When the school bell rang he slipped back
into his jacket and went to his class. As soon as he was able to warm up a bit, the fire bell rang that
prompted everyone to go outside. As he queued outside, other children looked at him and again he felt
as though they were all laughing and saying, Man, that s ugly (Soto, 474). Although he believed it was
ugly, he continued wearing the jacket since he has no choice. All the more he felt bad because wicked
things happen continuously. He was unable to do his homework, he got C s in most of his quizzes, and
he even forgot the capitals and rivers of South America. The girls who were previously friendly to him
blew away like loose flowers following boys in neat jackets (Soto, 474). Despite of the bad lucks it
caused him, he still wore the jacket for three years and has tagged along with him wherever he went.

Ethics And Ethics Of Ethics In Public Relations
My question is how have ethics evolved in public relation? I am asking this question because I want to
acquire knowledge and more detail about ethics in public relation. My major in communication and

the masses. There are no secrets in institution with the exceptions of the special operation of

A M Records Vs. Napster
A M Records v. Napster is a landmark case in which the application of intellectual property laws has
forever impacted contemporary culture with regards to digital works. The legal issues and applicable
laws presented in the instant case resulted in a holding, which set forth a precedent that has influence
the mode and means of digital works distribution. The outcome of Napster affects both businesses and
individuals. Napster, a free online file sharing network, allowed peers to share digital files directly
with each other by way of connections through its software and system. The no cost peer to peer
sharing gained popularity, particularly with trendy music. A M Records took notice of the free digital
music downloads and brought suit against Napster for direct, contributory, and vicarious copyright
infringements (Washington University School of Law, 2013). First, it is important to discuss the direct,
contributory and vicarious infringement claims against Napster. Direct copyright infringement claims
are based on a breach of a copyright owners exclusive rights to the copyrighted work(s). A M Records,
Inc. v. Napster, Inc., 239 F.3d 1004, 1013 (9th Cir. 2001). Napster was found liable for this because

Eve felt something soft, sharp, and icy cold touching against her cheek. When she tried to move and

unconscious...No. No, then she remembered. She d been sleeping, in the balloon. But how had she

as quiet as you can for that long? Will I win something if I do? Of course you will. It s a very special

Wildlife Biologist Career Essay
The career I chose was a wildlife biologist. Wildlife Biologists study the physical and behavioral
characteristics of wildlife, as well as human actions on animals and their ecosystem. The duties of a
wildlife biologist range anywhere from writing a report to collecting data by experimenting and
observing. For instance, a wildlife biologist may have to collect data from observing animal
reproduction, interaction between species, and movement patterns. Other times, wildlife biologists
will spend time indoors writing papers that explain the data they collected, giving presentations, and
doing pre experiment research. Usually a wildlife biologist focuses on a specific type of species,
which can include marine mammals, insects, amphibians, reptiles, ... Show more content on

The current demand for wildlife biologists isn t high, but in the future the demand will increase due to
human trends which include pollution, habitat destruction, and climate change. Although more
biologists will be needed in the future to study human impact on wildlife, the job employment is only
expected to increase by four percent (which is slower than usual) by 2024. The term wildlife refers to
birds, whales, gorillas, jaguars, rhinos, sharks, etc.. Like aforesaid, a wildlife biologist typically
specializes in one of these animal categories. However, choice may be limited based on location.
Coast states such as Florida, Texas, California, Alaska, Hawaii and others tend to offer many jobs in
marine biology. Other landlocked states may have jobs that focus on land wildlife. Generally
speaking, this career is available worldwide (including the Galveston area), therefore it wouldn t be
absolutely necessary to relocate. Beginners in the career are likely to start off with a low position and
once again, a low pay. Whenever a person has gained experience in their position, they are likely to be
promoted to a higher position with an increased

newly engaged couples tends to be in their 20s. The engagement period is usually around 14 months.
These couples will now have a double income with no children, which allows them quite a bit of
freedom. These people will most likely have their parents or family members pay for a big portion of
their wedding supplies. This allows brands to market to the bride and grooms parent s through
multiple sources, such as Facebook with targeted messaging. Typically, most couples get engaged

decision making when deciding where and if they should buy or rent. Some of the things they will
have to think about is their careers, income, if they plan on moving soon, and if they plan on having a
family sometime in the near future. Most likely they will end up renting an apartment for their first
time living space. Renting lets them save money and will allow them to move easily in the future if
they choose to. An apartment is a good choice for two people because of the small size. Along with
somewhere to live, they will also be needing furniture. Some of the smaller furniture might be taken
care of by wedding gifts. Many couples will look in catalogs and on the internet to get ideas and
possibly even buy their furniture. They will most likely also look in discount stores, such as IKEA, to
find cheap and used furniture. As they move on in their lives and get a better income, they will buy
new furniture and most likely sell their old used furniture or possibly move it down to the

For the Australian fairy tale, it has been a long journey in search of nationhood identity. With the
enduring legacy of Australia s history as a settler colony there was no surprise that it invested the
landscape with strangeness and it became a part of the dream like world within fairy tales. Through
the history of Australian literary culture, the mythology of the bush tradition has been a powerful
voice in the Australian cultural context, which continues to have strong force in creating national
identity. However, it has become an inaccurate form of cultural identity. Here I will show how the

Life Coaching Misconceptions Essay
Common Misconceptions Of Life Coaching
By Christina Cordle
Oct 20, 2012
Life coaching has become the popular method of improving the lives of workers and ordinary
individuals. For years, it is used by numerous individuals to correct their problems, to achieve their
goals and to boost success.
It becomes a popular byword not only in communities, but companies as well because they believed of
the power of coaching to change lives and to obtain the desired goals they want. At present,
supervisors and managers no longer criticize their subordinates, but they coach them to motivate them.
What is life coaching?
It is a method wherein professional coaches work with clients to address specific personal problems,
personal projects, transitions, business successes, conditions in life and relationships. It is different
from mentoring, therapy, consulting and therapy because it focuses on the root cause of the problem.

What are these misconceptions?
Below are the common misconceptions about life coaching:
1. Life coaching is a therapy where individuals can rely on it for counseling and psychotherapy. In
reality, coaching is not therapy, but a method to help individuals achieve their goals.
2. It can fix problems of individuals. It is a misconception because coaching is just a tool and a
catalyst to help individuals find solutions to their own problems. It is not life coaching itself that
solved these problems, but it is the person involved who has the responsibility to address their actions.
3. It is comparable to mentoring that gives individuals advice. It is not similar to mentoring because it
does not give advice, but raises the awareness of individuals on their capability and capacity to solve

The Identificity Of Technology, Communication, And Digital...
How closely are you connected with those around you? How much do you rely on your phone not just
for communication but also for finding answers to questions or even keeping a schedule? Have you
consulted artificial intelligence about your dating questions? We as a society have moved into this
dependence on everything technology, artificial, and social media. We would much rather message or
post a question about a certain topic than actually ask somebody in person. And it s not just for
convenience, as we become more and more dependent on social media, texting, posting, and
technology in general, we subconsciously continue to wear down our ability to communicate and trust
one another on a physical level. A simple conversation with another person can go a lot further than an
email or text message. But why do we forfeit the physical interaction with someone for a digital
communication that simply does not have the lasting impression that a physical interaction has? As
stated by Sherry Turkle, in her article Flight From Conversation. We ve become accustomed to a new
way of being alone together. Technology enabled, we are able to be with one another, and also
elsewhere, connected to wherever we want to be. We want to customize our lives . (Turkle 49) Simply
put we are becoming more self important and more content socializing by ourselves. We like to have
things our way and we like to have it on our time. Turkle then continues on to say that A high school

Spanish Immigration Dbq Essay
The Spanish exploration of America brought many new foods, types of plants, and many forms of
wealth to the European world. However, the wealth that was brought from the Americas came at a
cost. The suffering and enslavement of the Native people and the transportation of Africans to
America to be used as slaves alongside the Natives. Many motivations were used to support this
extraction of wealth and treatment of the Natives and Africans, however two are easily verifiable. The
Spanish colonization from 1492 to 1700 was motivated by religious conversion of all peoples in
America and the desire for wealth and profit that had a significant impact on the lives of Native
Americans and Africans.

The reason America was discovered in the first place was because Columbus was looking for a water
route to Asia. Columbus was sailing to avoid the tax and unfriendliness of the Ottoman empire. When
Columbus realized that he was not in Asia and instead was in an whole new world basically, he sent
captured indians back the Pope to show him that the Natives could be used for labor. After this, many
conquistadors flooded to America looking for wealth and profit. Some well known conquistadors we
re Hernan Cortes, who took over the Aztec Empire and all of their wealth and sent it back to Europe.
Francisco Pizarro was an conquistador who dominated the Incas and sent the gold and silver back to
Europe. Many other Spanish people saw the wealth was brought back and thought they could get in on
the loot also. Colonization boomed after wealth came back to Spain. Another example of why wealth
was an motivator for colonization is the population increase in Europe. Since more people we re being
born, landlords we re profiting off lending land to serfs. With all the money the landlords we re
gaining, they wanted to spend that money on new, luxurious items such as cotton and sugar. Since the
demand for these products we re high, more and more people flooded to America to gain the new
exotic items that we re not previously available. Both religious conversion and desire for wealth had

Dry Scalp
Dry scalp is a common problem for many people. It can be embarrassing to go in public with visible
traces of dry scalp. For sanity and for health purposes, it s wise to attach the problem head on with a
dry scalp treatment. Consider these ideas and implement them as needed.
1. Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is one of the most powerfully potent oils on the market. It is the perfect oil for dandruff
because of its antibacterial and anti fungal properties. It s easy to find in any health food retailer or

Functional Genomic Analysis of C. elegans Using RNA...
Introduction
Before we talk about this important experiment, do you know what a nematode is?
Specifically, this experiment used Caenorhabditis elegans, C. elegans for short. C. elegans is a little
worm (just like the kind you find in the ground), but has a very special place in modern biochemistry:
scientists have mapped its entire genomic sequence.
This sequence lets scientists know the character and location of all C. elegans genes. However,
biochemists do not yet fully understand what each gene does and the goal of this experiment is to find
the function of each gene within the worm. The connection between a worm s genotype and
phenotype is important, because, believe it or not, human beings and worms share many of the same ...

All eukaryotic cells get their genetic information from DNA, which are strands of nucleotides whose
order conveys genetic information to the cell. Structurally, DNA looks like a ladder. A DNA strand is
made up of a sugar phosphate backbone (similar to the sides of a ladder, alternating sugar and
phosphate) and is connected in the middle with paired purines and pyrimidines (fancy names for four
chemicals that make up the steps of the ladder). Scientists refer to the distinctive shape of DNA as a
double helix.
DNA replication is necessary for organisms to stay alive and reproduce. When cells replicate, the
DNA must also be copied so the daughter cells contain the genetic information necessary to perform
key chemical reactions. Cells have machinery that read the information in DNA and use these
instructions to make proteins. To make proteins, the DNA must first unwind in order to be read. This
small section is then replicated to form a single stranded RNA strand. The RNA strand then forms
what is called messenger RNA or simply mRNA. The mRNA is used to make the proteins the cell
needs.
In some viruses, however, the genetic material is double stranded RNA (known as dsRNA), rather
than DNA. These viruses inject their dsRNA into a host s cell. The

The Theatre Of The Lounge
Led by a group of actors into the theatre from the lounge, I saw a number of different theatrical
elements that were distinguished from other conventional theatre. The very first item that caught my
attention as I entered was a line of racks for coat hangers. Normally they would not be one of the first
objects an audience would notice in the house. The actors naturally guided the audience to hang their
coats on the hangers. As I went further into the space, I realized the audience seats did not face the
stage; the platform in which performance usually takes place on was veiled by black curtains, visually
creating a wall. This creation of the new wall yet did not induce me to raise a question on where the
actors would act; its answer was evidently shown. The house was stripped down to a bare, flat ground,
encircled by the audience chairs. I did not see any specially raised platform that highlighted any actor
s presence. Nor did I see any decorative set design, apart from two pillars and a bench in between,
which distinctly differentiated the acting region from the spectator region. I did see a blue tape on the
ground that physically defined the stage area. However, sitting in the front row, the tape mark was so
close that I could easily step on it. Meanwhile, instead of preparing themselves at the backstage for the
play to start, the actors walked around and interacted with the audience members through informal
conversation. They all wore their casual clothing; if I did not

Carl Rogers Humanistic Psychodynamic Approach
EXISTENTIAL HUMANISTIC PSYCHOTHERAPY
In the 1960 s a new momentum in counselling known as the third force spawned. This force became
known as the existential humanist approach developed by Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow. Like
most psychologists of his era; Carl Rogers trained psychodynamically (Prochaska Norcross 2010).
However, he didn t stay psychodynamic for long. Rogers disagreed with many of Freud s
presumptions about therapy and more fundamentally, about people. Along with Abraham Maslow,
Rogers pioneered the humanistic movement in psychology. The humanistic approach assumes that
people arrive with an inborn tendency to grow, otherwise known as self actualisation and presumes
that if a person s environment fosters it, self actualisation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This will include the determination of the kind of diet a patient takes and the degree of exercising
together with the knowledge of how various activities affect the heart. The next consideration would
be the determination of the body s fluid levels. This would be followed by the examination of the body
and patient s regulatory systems which affects the body s fluid level. The next step will then be the
evaluation of the disease status of the patient. Other diseases may have a negative effect to the ability
of the heart to pump blood to the various parts of the body and this step will enable the nurse to
discover which disease is causing a negative effect to the heart. The evaluation of the family status
will reveal any conflicts that may be causing the heart failure while at the same time provide an
understanding of the degree of effectiveness of therapeutic regimen management. Through this data,
the nurse will be in a position to determine the patient s current status and aid in determining the level
of outcomes that is required to manage the disease effectively.
Nursing Outcome Classification
At this stage, the nurse should establish the levels to be reached for each of the causes determined in
the diagnosis process. First, the nurse should set the required compliance behavior to the strategies to
be implemented. This will be followed by the determination of the level of

homosexuals of that era. As the civil unrest of the 1960s continued to grow, with more radical and

The Lemon Test, which was created in a case called Lemon V. Kurtzman, consists of three prongs
(Speich 275). They are that governmental action be supported by a secular purpose, that it not have the
principal or primary effect of advancing or inhibiting religion, and that it not foster an excessive
governmental entanglement with religion. (qtd. in Conkle). In other words, the first prong requires the
court to question the intent of the government or group in charge of creating the policy; the second
prong asks the court to determine the result of the policy and its effects on religion, and the last prong
asks the court to not complicate the dynamic of the church and the state (Speich 275). The
Endorsement test is used after the first two prongs of the lemon test have been verified. First occurring
in Lynch V. Donnelly, the Endorsement test states that the government cannot endorse, favor, promote,
or prefer any religious belief or practice (Speich 277). The test asks the judges if the policy in question
merely looks like it endorses religion. The Coercion test, which is sometimes used instead of the
lemon test such as in Lee v. Weisman case, asks if the policy tricks members of the minority or
dissenting religion into participating (Schweitzer; Speich 278).

Characteristics Of Identical Twins
In our opinion, twins reared in different conditions will display some of the same traits. However, it
depends on certain aspects as well. To start off, Twin studies are a significant tool to investigate the
nature versus nurture argument. Identical twins, or monozygotic twins, are siblings that have the exact
same genotypes whereas fraternal twins are dizygotic twins that only share half of their genes
together. Fraternal twins are similar to siblings, except they have of the exact age. As Plomin, DeFries,
McClearn, and Rutter (1997) stated that if one twin has dark hair, then the other twin has dark hair as
well; where the concept of identical genes would ideally distribute itself towards the phenotypes of
behavior and personality of identical twins .
Twins reared in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parents who dress their twins up in the same outfits or get them the same set of toys does not
contribute to twins who have the same traits. It shows that a common environment does not give much
impact in developing personalities. Mischel (1981) has also attested to this issue saying that genes and
glands are different, but social learning plays a dramatic role. People develop vast differences through
the stimuli they face in their daily life. Despite being reared in the same environment (their home),
both twins could have had different sets of friends. Thus, going through their school years having
different experiences and facing different challenges. As a whole they will have completely different
hobbies and interests.
Hence, we think that twins will display the same trait even though they were brought up in different
environments because traits have more to do with genetics rather than environment. Which is why
identical twins are more similar when compared to fraternal twins despite both being reared apart.
This is due to the higher similarity in genetic makeup for identical twins when compared to fraternal

Operation Oluja Essay
Effects and Results of Oluja
Operation Oluja is the largest military operation in Croatian history, as well as a decisive turning point
in the overall conflict on the territory of former Yugoslavia. With Operation Oluja around 14 % of the
total territory of the Republic of Croatia was liberated. Its ending and results marked the collapse of
the Greater Serbia idea of uniting all Serbian countries in former Yugoslavia and the creation of
Greater Serbia. It changed the strategic force ratio in the region, which directly influenced the bringing
of the Serbs to the negotiating table. It took the change of the strategic situation, which had been
brought about by Croatian military successes, to create the conditions for the implementation of US
led peacekeeping initiatives of USA, Germany, France, Great Britain and Russia , as well as for the
signing of the Dayton Agreement and a complete cessation of military operations in Croatia and BiH.
Operation Oluja inflicted a total defeat on the SVK, while the VRS was de facto on the verge of

When considering alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine, it is actually hard to classify them all as the same
thing because they all have their own individual effects on the body. The classmate was correct when
saying marijuana and alcohol have similar effects on behavior, but even then, they are only similar to a
certain extent. Alcohol and marijuana are similar because they both act as a depressant on the body s
nervous system when entered into the blood stream. Both substances cause the individual to become
impaired in one way or another and lose the ability to do some of the things sober people can do.
However, alcohol causes the body to lose balance, alter the individuals to speak properly, impairs their
sleep cycle, and at times causes aggressive behavior. Marijuana, on the other hand, over activates the
cannabinoid receptors causing a disruption of memory, alters perceptions in regards to sound and
movement by slowing it down, and numbing portions of the body as a whole. When adding cocaine
into the equation, that s where the comparison is thrown off completely. Cocaine does the complete
opposite and acts as a stimulant by blocking the removal of dopamine in the synapses of the brain
(National Institute of Drug Abuse) . Cocaine causes the consumer to be energetic, talkative, and
mentally alert which later leads to them crashing and hitting an extreme low. Cocaine causes

Rhetorical Analysis A Trip
ANALYSIS OF THE TRIP
Have you ever been so excited for something that you literally cannot wait? Of course you have, I m
sure you have been really excited the night before Christmas. That same feeling is what I have while
planning and waiting for trips to happen. Some people can get a sort of high from anticipating a trip,
just like the night before your 21st birthday. This is just one of three different phases you can go
through during a trip: Anticipation, Experience Perceived Experience.
A. Anticipation: This is the first phase, where you decide to travel, choose where to go, plan the
details, and wait for the departure date. This phase can have an array of feelings attached to it: feelings
of excitement for the day you leave, stress ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though many people think that they had an incredible trip, one or two of the phases can falsely
simulate that feeling. For example, you may have been excited for over a year to go to Paris and you
can recall all of the amazing things that you saw, but in reality during the trip you may have been
stressed out of your mind and uncomfortable. I am not saying that your incredible trip last month wasn
t the best thing that you have ever done, just a realistic view at the emotional roaster that you ride
during your trip.

Happiness Is The Most Common Misconception Of Happiness
Happiness... It could be said that there is no one in this whole wide world who does not want to be
happy. We live every single day in hope to find happiness, which also known as pursuit of happiness.
We strive to bring happiness in our life. Nonetheless, along the journey to find happiness, some people
stumble and find themselves unhappy instead. One might question why, but actually we all have
different value and understanding to describe happiness. Therefore, we have our own unique approach
to pursue happiness and there is no telling to the exact cause of our wrongs and errors in the process.
What might have been the cause, which most people hardly notice, is their perception of happiness.
There are three most common misconception of happiness that lead to unhappy life.
Some people think that in order to be happy they need to live a perfect life. Well, there is no such
thing as perfect since every one s perfect is different. But perfect life here implies to one s ideal life or
to be accepted by most people and make mistake as little as possible. It might sound like a nonsense
but there are some people out there believe perfect life will make one happy. Of course, to live one s
perfect life is not an easy thing to achieve as it also puts enormous pressure in one s life, although in
some rare cases it could be turned into a motivation. Those pressures to be perfect, which at the same
time also to be happy, become the seeds of unhappiness. My best friend has been living in

NME s provide a higher return, but rarely make it to market compared to LCM products. The
displacement of excess funds can either be invested into further research or be distributed to

The Planners Poem
The speaker is very fearful of the idea of modernisation and does not see any good in it.
Firstly, he is very skeptical towards the planners who plan this idea of modernisation. The writer starts
of the poem with They plan. It is unclear of who the writer is referring to, which I imply that he is
referring to the planners. The writer tries to distance himself from the planners, and does not want
anything to do with them by not acknowledging who they are. Besides that, his second sentence of the
poem is also related to them. The repetition of the word They many times emphasises how powerful
and mysterious are the people behind the city s construction and to rebel against them would be
practically impossible. Additionally, the speaker describes them as people who build and will not stop
. Nothing has the power to stop the planners, it is a hopeless battle if anyone even attempts to rebel
against this plan. There is a certainty about this sentence that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He described the sea as draw(ing) back . It clearly implies how even nature would be destroyed by
giving way to the planners obnoxious and obliterating plans. The sea is disguised by civilisation and
draws back. At the same time, the skies surrender . The tall buildings have conquer the sky and even
nature is conquered by the planners. This both shows that even nature cannot do anything and the
disapproval of nature of these planners. Furthermore, the writer described bridges are hang in the
grace of mathematics . The word grace is supposed to imply moving freely in unrestrained strings.
However, mathematics , on the other hand, is made up of rules and obtain straight, unrestricted lines.
Beauty is being pushed away, replaced by mathematics, implying that modernisation has divine power
of replacing something so beautiful with something boring instead. The writer is not looking forward

President Bush And The President Of The United States
The uproar of who should be the next President of the United States came in full swing April 2014.
While the Republican Party jumped to an early start by making trips to the early voting states of Iowa,
New Hampshire, and South Carolina, the Democratic Party lingered on the sidelines. The Republican
Party started with seventeen candidates, yet the Democratic Party had only three. However, after the
Iowa Caucus, one of the Democratic candidates dropped, leaving only two candidates remaining.
Those two candidates are Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. As the race progressed sixteen of the
Republican Party candidates dropped, leaving only Donald Trump. With estimated polls, Hillary
Clinton and Donald Trump would be the two candidates in the 2016 presidential election. Clinton has
over thirty five years of political experience, yet Trump has only business experience, so the decision
of who should run the country should be chosen carefully. Although the Republican Party believes
Donald Trump should be the next President of the United States, the Democratic Party nominated
Hillary Clinton as the best candidate because she has the most accurate solutions for solving some of
the main issues in the United States, such as gun control, immigration, and education. Clinton and
Trump have two different views on one of the most important issues facing the U.S gun control. To
argue the issue of gun control, Trump presents the Second Amendment. Trump believes there should

Being A Woman Of Color Skin
Being a woman means you don t have enough power from birth and during all your life you need to
prove that you are as strong as a man. Being a woman of color is even more difficult. You don t get
privileges as white color skin gives you. During all their lives, women of color often fight for their
rights for education, health care, religion, and etc. The racism in the US has a long history. It started
with African slavery, Asian immigration, and opening America by Christopher Columbus. White
Americans had benefits of having slaves, cheap workers, and silent servants. Knowledge is a main
source of information. Nowadays, we have all sources of information, such as books, newspapers,
magazines, Internet, TV, social media, and radio. In the past, the only things people had were
newspapers, magazines, and books. It is so much easier to know something new and get involved into
some political or cultural events through the web.
Discrimination leads to economic inequality that gives lack of opportunities. The problems are still on
both sides of a boat. Due to Foster, only white people have institutional power an maintain the
capacity to exercise oppression People of other races can mistreat white people, but they don t have
the power to practice racism (Deborah Foster A Guide to White Privilege for White People Who think
they ve never had any). Why do women of color have problems with education? I will try to analyze
this problem in my paper. Due to Foster, teachers expect less

The Carolingian Empire was inherently unstable due to its vast size, duration, and legacy of Louis the

It was necessary for Louis the Pious and Charles the Bald to be unsuccessful rulers so that these
nations could develop. Invasions were a major factor of the collapse of the Empire which was seen
with the Vikings and Lothar. Lothar s invasions were a key influence because it does say how weak
the Carolingians could have been since their own family lineage were attacking them. In addition, it
could be summed up that they could have been forced to split up their extensive Empire due to
inevitable costs and the inability to produce for their kingdom. Lastly, their civil wars that produced
the Treaty of Verdun had diminished their dynasty s reputation and borders that its entity existed no
longer. These reasons support that the Carolingian Empire was unstable due to its vast size, duration,

What Is Heroes And Their True Worth
Heroes and Their True Worth
A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of
overwhelming obstacles. Christopher Reeve. What are heroes? Several things may come to mind
when considering this question. The most common thing that people think when they hear the word
hero is someone who is brave, courageous, or risks their lives for others. This only makes up a tiny
aspect of what a hero really is. A hero can be an ordinary person who just happened to do something
worth remembering. Examples of this could be Rosa Parks and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. or even
Abraham Lincoln. We remember these people because of the things they did. All heroes, including
these historic figures, have one thing in common: They were ordinary people with hard lives that
wanted to make a change and accomplished it. They accomplished it by listening to people and trying
to make their lives better. The definition of a hero is an ordinary person who experiences a major
event in their life that changes them, someone who puts others before themselves, or someone who
changes people s lives for the better.
Heroes are ordinary people who had an event change their lives and thinking. An example of this is
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. When Dr. King was younger, his friend was a person of white skin and his
friend s mother told him not to play with Dr. King anymore. This deeply saddened Dr. King and he his
mother why this happened. His mother replied because of the

  • 2. The Medications She Takes For Her Mental Health Essay I interviewed Susan on September 9, 2016 about the medications she takes for her mental health. Susan is a 45 year old female. She has one daughter Hannah, age 16. Susan and Hannah s father were divorced when Hannah was three years old. Hannah currently lives with Susan during the week and visits her father, who lives about an hour away, every other weekend, some holidays, and several weeks during the summer. Susan lives in Simi Valley and works full time in West Los Angeles to support herself and daughter. Susan takes two psychopharmacology drugs for her mental health. The first is a 20 mg fluoxetine (Prozac) pill which she takes once a day in the morning to help with her depression. The second is a 1 mg Lorazepam (Ativan) pill which she takes for stress when needed. She usually takes half a Lorazepam pill three to four times a week when she experiences anxiety and chest pain. Rarely does she need to take Lorazepam during the day. Susan started taking these medications approximately thirteen years ago, a couple years after she divorced her husband. While married she had an extremely unhealthy relationship with her husband and his family and she basically did slave labor for his family s carpet cleaning business for ten years. Shortly after the divorce her ex husband remarried a woman who made Susan and Hannah s life miserable. The new wife constantly threatened to take Susan to court to get custody of Hannah. She was verbally abusive to Susan including calling her a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. California Pizza Kitchen California Pizza Kitchen Chris Schroeder FI 602: Financial Strategy and Valuation Fang Chen September 21, 2012 Introduction In July of 2007, California Pizza Kitchen (CPK), a casual dining pizzeria started in California by co owners Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax, was faced with the decision to invest in a stock repurchase program. Led by Chief Financial Officer Susan Collyns, the financial team of CPK was reviewing the preliminary results for the second quarter to determine if the stock repurchase program would provide a significant financial leverage for the company. The goal was to determine if the company can maintain the necessary financial stability to meet the expected growth trajectory for 2008 while utilizing debt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not only would this benefit the company, but would also benefit the stakeholders who just received the additional 50% stock dividend that CPK issued. Financial Leverage on WACC When analyzing which debt financing option CPK should choose, the weight average cost of capital (WACC) will provide an approximation on how much CPK must earn in order to satisfy the amount financed. The values of WACC for the actual, 10%, 20%, and 30% options can be found in Appendix A. It appears that the higher the financial leverage, the lower the WACC will be. Take for instance if CPK chooses a 30% debt to capital situation, the ROE will be 11.1 % with a 9.2% WACC. In contrast, at the actual value, the ROE is 9% with the WACC being 9.5% and could pose badly for CPK. As long as CPK is comfortable with the high risk of a 30% debt to capital ratio, then it would be the most beneficial in terms of adding economic value to the company, and for the shareholders, while providing a high financial leverage. Financial Leverage and Cost of Equity The effect of financial leverage on the cost of equity is prevalent in the Modigliani Miller capital structure theory. Since the financial leverage increases the cost of equity, it can be considered one of the disadvantages of borrowing. As shown in Appendix A, the cost of equity, at each debt to capital ratio, increases by 0.1% as the financial leverage increases by 10%. With a higher ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Biography of Samuel F.B. Morse Essay Samuel F. B. Morse was one of the greatest inventors of the 19th century; he was the invention of the singled wire telegraph machine that influenced the Industrial Revolution in America and the Morse code led way to many future innovations. Samuel Morse was not just an inventor; he was also a painter that did works such as The Chapel of the Virgin at Subiaco and The Gallery of the Louvre 1831 1833 to portraits of famous politicians such as John Adams. Samuel F. B. Morse was born in Charleston, Massachusetts on April 17, 1791. He was the son of a geographer and pastor Jedidiah Morse and Elizabeth Ann Finley Breese. Samuel Morse ran into problems during the development of the telegraph machine, the telegraph machine could only transmit information for a little bit more than a few hundred yards due to the loss of current over long distances. Not until Professor Leonard Gale, of New York University, that helped improved Morse s design that used superior batteries and electromagnets that enabled it to transfer currents over great distances. After the help of Gale, Samuel Morse had perfected his telegraph; it was able to send signals over great distances. Although his Journey wasn t over, he now had to send his work to Washington where he awaited to be approved by Congress. He attended both sessions of Congress, from 1837 to 1838 and another one in 1842 to 1843. During the last day of the session, which was March 3, 1843, he spent the whole day and part of the evening in the Senate chamber, anxiously watching the progress of the passing of the various bills (Morse) to watch the bill get passed, he was awarded $30,000 to set up the very first telegraph machine from Washington to Baltimore. His first telegraph machine was made from household instruments that consisted of an old picture or canvas frame fastened to a table; the wheels of an old wooden clock [...] and a short circuit of a wire, embracing the helices of the electro magnet connected with the positive and negative poles of the battery and terminating the mercury cups (Morse). Distributed Database Vs Centralized Database Distributed Database vs Centralized Database centralized database: In a centralized database, all the data of an organization is stored in a single place such as a mainframe computer or a server. Users in remote locations access the data through the Wide Area Network (WAN) using the application programs provided to access the data. In a centralized database, all data of an organization are kept in a single computer as a central processor or server. Users in remote locations access data by using WAN by application software provided to access data. The centralized database (the central processor or server) should be able to satisfy all requests from the system; therefore, it creates restricted access. But since all data resides in a single location it easier to maintain and support data. In addition, it is easier to maintain the integrity of data, because once the data is stored in a centralized database, out of date data is no longer available in other places. Distributed Database: In a distributed database, the data is stored in storage devices that are in different physical locations. They are not attached to a common CPU but the database is controlled by a central DBMS. In a distributed database, data is stored in storage devices that are situated in different physical locations. • 6. Troilus And Cressida In The Odyssey William Shakespeare s play Troilus and Cressida is a play covering the events leading up the mythic Odyssey. Much like many modern works, as well as Shakespeare s own, the story plays host to a love story between two characters, the titular, Troilus and Cressida. The pair are both Trojans, each from noble houses; Troilus, son to Prima the king of Troy, and Cressida, daughter to Calchas a priest within the city. The love affair betwixt the pair is interesting to say the least, as it appears early on in the text to be one sided. In ACT I Scene 2, Cressida is introduced and speaks with her uncle, Pandarus. Did you in any way relate to his issues: specifically, what will he end up doing with his life now that he is a college graduate; what will his future be; will he ever genuinely fall in love? And even more specifically: How did you respond to the finale, and to what occurs both in the church and on the bus? Also, what about the infamous Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft)? • 9. Bootstrap Approach On Data Sampling Essay Bootstrap Approach in Data Sampling As shown in the previous chapter, the basic samples of data needed to calculate the confidence intervals have distributions which depart from the traditional parametric distributions. Thus, classical hypothesis testing procedures based on strong parametric assumptions cannot be used to estimate the confidence intervals. In order to obtain results as reliable as possible, a statistical technique which is applicable regardless of the form of the data probability density function has to be utilized. In other words, this method should make no assumption about the different data distributions. One good candidate is the bootstrap method. The idea about bootstrapping is that we don t have enough data. To illustrate this technique, we consider a clothing shop selling second clothing. In a week, sales per day varies with day. The second week analysis also, shows a different trend to first week. As a business owner, one would like to determine the customer behaviour and pattern so that planning can be done effectively to ensure customer satisfaction. Therefore, an average or mean sales need to be determine for the first week. This is done by taking resample data from the main data sample, which will produce a distribution sample as indicated in (a) and (b) for week 2. The t test statistical analysis will not be the reasonable method to determine the resalable mean value since it will recognise both (a) and (b) as normal distribution, thus giving a ... Wildlife Biologists study the physical and behavioral characteristics of wildlife, as well as human actions on animals and their ecosystem. The duties of a wildlife biologist range anywhere from writing a report to collecting data by experimenting and observing. For instance, a wildlife biologist may have to collect data from observing animal reproduction, interaction between species, and movement patterns. The term wildlife refers to birds, whales, gorillas, jaguars, rhinos, sharks, etc.. Like aforesaid, a wildlife biologist typically specializes in one of these animal categories. However, choice may be limited based on location. Coast states such as Florida, Texas, California, Alaska, Hawaii and others tend to offer many jobs in marine biology. With the enduring legacy of Australia s history as a settler colony there was no surprise that it invested the landscape with strangeness and it became a part of the dream like world within fairy tales. Through the history of Australian literary culture, the mythology of the bush tradition has been a powerful voice in the Australian cultural context, which continues to have strong force in creating national identity. However, it has become an inaccurate form of cultural identity. Here I will show how the texts The Gown of Cobweb Lace in Peg Maltbys collection Peg s Fairy book and Stick Figures in Tales of Outter Suburbia by Shaun Tan, illuminates the evolution of illustration in the fairy tales which seems to have recorded the social history that has not been described in any other form, exploring ... All eukaryotic cells get their genetic information from DNA, which are strands of nucleotides whose order conveys genetic information to the cell. Structurally, DNA looks like a ladder. A DNA strand is made up of a sugar phosphate backbone (similar to the sides of a ladder, alternating sugar and phosphate) and is connected in the middle with paired purines and pyrimidines (fancy names for four chemicals that make up the steps of the ladder). Scientists refer to the distinctive shape of DNA as a double helix. DNA replication is necessary for organisms to stay alive and reproduce. When cells replicate, the DNA must also be copied so the daughter cells contain the genetic information necessary to perform key chemical reactions. Cells have machinery that read the information in DNA and use these instructions to make proteins. To make proteins, the DNA must first unwind in order to be read. This small section is then replicated to form a single stranded RNA strand. The RNA strand then forms what is called messenger RNA or simply mRNA. The mRNA is used to make the proteins the cell needs. In some viruses, however, the genetic material is double stranded RNA (known as dsRNA), rather than DNA. These viruses inject their dsRNA into a host s cell. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The very first item that caught my attention as I entered was a line of racks for coat hangers. Normally they would not be one of the first objects an audience would notice in the house. The actors naturally guided the audience to hang their coats on the hangers. As I went further into the space, I realized the audience seats did not face the stage; the platform in which performance usually takes place on was veiled by black curtains, visually creating a wall. This creation of the new wall yet did not induce me to raise a question on where the actors would act; its answer was evidently shown. The house was stripped down to a bare, flat ground, encircled by the audience chairs. I did not see any specially raised platform that highlighted any actor s presence. Nor did I see any decorative set design, apart from two pillars and a bench in between, which distinctly differentiated the acting region from the spectator region. I did see a blue tape on the ground that physically defined the stage area. However, sitting in the front row, the tape mark was so close that I could easily step on it. Thus, going through their school years having different experiences and facing different challenges. As a whole they will have completely different hobbies and interests. Hence, we think that twins will display the same trait even though they were brought up in different environments because traits have more to do with genetics rather than environment. Which is why identical twins are more similar when compared to fraternal twins despite both being reared apart. This is due to the higher similarity in genetic makeup for identical twins when compared to fraternal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Operation Oluja Essay Effects and Results of Oluja Operation Oluja is the largest military operation in Croatian history, as well as a decisive turning point in the overall conflict on the territory of former Yugoslavia. With Operation Oluja around 14 % of the total territory of the Republic of Croatia was liberated. Its ending and results marked the collapse of the Greater Serbia idea of uniting all Serbian countries in former Yugoslavia and the creation of Greater Serbia. It changed the strategic force ratio in the region, which directly influenced the bringing of the Serbs to the negotiating table. It took the change of the strategic situation, which had been brought about by Croatian military successes, to create the conditions for the implementation of US led peacekeeping initiatives of USA, Germany, France, Great Britain and Russia , as well as for the signing of the Dayton Agreement and a complete cessation of military operations in Croatia and BiH. Operation Oluja inflicted a total defeat on the SVK, while the VRS was de facto on the verge of collapse. By unblocking the Bihać enclave in western Bosnia, Oluja relieved the forces of the 5th Corps of ARBiH from the complete encirclement and facilitated its engagement on other territories in Bosnia, all of which speeded up the process of forcing the Serbs to ... None of the categories in the Alcohol Expectancy Questionnaire are sufficient reasons to consume alcohol throughout the day; however, many individuals do look at the use of alcohol in the ways listed in the categories. As unfortunate as it is, there are many different reasons people pick up a drink but they all ultimately believe the alcohol will help whatever situation they are in. What those individuals fail to realize is how alcohol works against those problems. In questions 1 5 they view it as a transforming agent by making the future seem brighter but alcohol only does that by impairing the cerebral cortex of the brain and causes them to make careless choices because alcohol tells them everything will be okay. When considering alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine, it is actually hard to classify them all as the same thing because they all have their own individual effects on the body. The classmate was correct when saying marijuana and alcohol have similar effects on behavior, but even then, they are only similar to a certain extent. Alcohol and marijuana are similar because they both act as a depressant on the body s nervous system when entered into the blood stream. Both substances cause the individual to become impaired in one way or another and lose the ability to do some of the things sober people can do. However, alcohol causes the body to lose balance, alter the individuals to speak properly, impairs their sleep cycle, and at times causes aggressive behavior. Marijuana, on the other hand, over activates the cannabinoid receptors causing a disruption of memory, alters perceptions in regards to sound and movement by slowing it down, and numbing portions of the body as a whole. When adding cocaine into the equation, that s where the comparison is thrown off completely. Cocaine does the complete opposite and acts as a stimulant by blocking the removal of dopamine in the synapses of the brain (National Institute of Drug Abuse) . Cocaine causes the consumer to be energetic, talkative, and mentally alert which later leads to them crashing and hitting an extreme low. Cocaine causes tachycardia, arrhythmia, abdominal pain, and possible strokes/seizures due to the long term respiratory problems. Firstly, he is very skeptical towards the planners who plan this idea of modernisation. The writer starts of the poem with They plan. It is unclear of who the writer is referring to, which I imply that he is referring to the planners. The writer tries to distance himself from the planners, and does not want anything to do with them by not acknowledging who they are. Besides that, his second sentence of the poem is also related to them. The repetition of the word They many times emphasises how powerful and mysterious are the people behind the city s construction and to rebel against them would be practically impossible. While the Republican Party jumped to an early start by making trips to the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, the Democratic Party lingered on the sidelines. The Republican Party started with seventeen candidates, yet the Democratic Party had only three. However, after the Iowa Caucus, one of the Democratic candidates dropped, leaving only two candidates remaining. Those two candidates are Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. As the race progressed sixteen of the Republican Party candidates dropped, leaving only Donald Trump. With estimated polls, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump would be the two candidates in the 2016 presidential election. Clinton has over thirty five years of political experience, yet Trump has only business experience, so the decision of who should run the country should be chosen carefully.
