The project “WMSU-AFNR Student Internship Program on Entrepreneurship with High S&T Content (Project 3.1k)” is a curriculum enhancement intervention executed through “hands-on” internship across AFNR courses in three State Universities and Colleges in Region IX. Its four components (Coconut Sugar, Seaweeds, Tissue Culture and Rubber Seedlings) operate on experiential and pragmatic approach to enhancing the competence and institutional employability of AFNR students through S&T applications, acquisition of entrepreneurial skills and microenterprise development focusing on Zamboanga Peninsula’s major dollar-earning export commodities. The immersion of 362 student-interns has developed their technical and entrepreneurial skills that can match the requirements of AFNR industries which they can also use to start microenterprises should they opt for self-employment after graduation. The project is also able to reverse the declining enrollment in AFNR courses in Region IX. From School Year 2007-2008 to School Year 2010-2011, the project is one of the factors that contributed to the overall three-percent increase in enrollment in AFNR courses in the three participating SUCs in the region. As a result of the student-internship program, the four commodities produced by AFNR students are sold through grocery stores and directly to “walk-in” buyers, traders, farmers, local government units, non-government organizations.

When you are creating a visuals and want them to look as snazzy as possible, there is a lot you can do to make your images shine with the brightness and glory of a thousand suns. You can add beautiful background textures, have perfectly complimentary fonts, or play with the orientation of your text in different ways. Even so, if you are not careful your text can look boring. Another way to make your presentation slides look spiffy (and certainly not boring) is to change up the way you display your text. Here are ten clever and easy to implement design tips for mixing up your text display and maximizing your design potential.

Computer hardware devices include webcams, scanners, mice, speakers, trackballs, and light pens. Webcams connect via USB or network and are used for video calls and conferencing. Scanners optically scan images and documents into digital formats. Mice are pointing devices that detect motion to move a cursor. Speakers have internal amplifiers and audio jacks. Trackballs contain ball and sensors to detect rotation for cursor movement. Light pens allow pointing directly on CRT displays.

- To get to text wrapping, insert the image, then:Either right-click on the image and choose FORMAT PICTUREOrClick on FORMAT on the ribbon – which only shows when you have clicked on an image – and choose TEXT WRAPPING.
- Right-click on the image and choose FORMAT PICTURE then TEXT WRAPPING
- Click on the image, then click FORMAT on the ribbon. Then click TEXT WRAPPING (not shown).
- In-line wrappingDoesn’t give you much control. You can’t add a border.
- SquarewrappingGives you much more control. You can add a border and effects, and drag the image.
- Tight wrappingThe text sits nearer the image. You can add a border and effects, and drag the image.
- Behind text wrappingUseful if you want to put a watermark on a page or in a table.
- In front of text wrappingText underneath the image is invisible.
- Through wrappingSimilar to Tight but if there are any blank spaces at the sides of the image, text will flow into those areas.
- Top & bottomwrappingThis is the one I use most often in books. The image breaks up lines of text, not just paragraphs, so you may have to nudge it up or down so it sits between paragraphs.
- Top & bottom wrapping looks best if you add an extra line space above and below the image.I usually give these line spaces a NO SPACING style, modified to be a small font size. This means there isn’t too much space above and below the image but just enough to make it stand out.
- RIGHT-CLICK on the NO SPACING style on the ribbon and choose MODIFY. Then you can adjust the font size and it will apply to all instances where you have used No Spacing in the document.
