The namesake of company is the genius Nikola
Tesla, an inventor, electrical engineer, and
scientist. Among his life's many inventions (and
more than 700 patents) are the induction motor
and alternating-current power transmission.

Milestones
Strategic Goals
Tesla long term strategic goal is to create Affordable mass market electric vehicle(EV)
In order to achieve its goal it’ll increase number of variety of EV’s available to
mainstream consumers in 3 ways :-
 Selling its own EV’s in a growing number of company owned showrooms and
online. First vehicle was Roadster (sports car) whose market was boomed during
2008-12, second Model S and third is Model X is which expected to come up by
2016.
 Selling Patented electric powertrain components to other auto manufacturers so
that they may get there own EV’s to customer soon. As a result, Tesla is partner
with Mercedes and Toyota.
 Serving as Catalyst and positive example to competitors, demonstrating that
there is pent-up consumer demand that are both high performance and
efficient.
SUPERCHARGER
425 Supercharger stations with 2,338 Superchargers
The Supercharger is a proprietary direct current (DC) fast-charging station that provides up to
135 kW of power, depending upon location, giving the 85 kWh Model S an additional 150
miles (240 km) of range in about 20 minutes, or 200 miles (320 km) of range in about 30
minutes.
The electricity used by the Supercharger in the West Coast corridor comes from a solar
carport system provided by solar city. Eventually, all Supercharger stations are to be supplied
by solar power.
195 stations North Americas
155 stations in Europe 75 stations in Asia-Pacific
Tesla Model-S
In 2012, Tesla launched Model S, the world’s first premium electric sedan. Built from the
ground up to be 100 percent electric, Model S has redefined the very concept of a four-
door car. Model S provides the comfort and utility of a family sedan while achieving the
acceleration of a sports car: 0 to 60 mph in about five seconds.
Its flat battery pack is integrated into the chassis and sits below the occupant cabin, lending
the car a low center of gravity that enables outstanding road holding and handling while
driving 265 miles per charge. Model S was named Motor Trend’s 2013 Car of the Year and
achieved a 5-star safety rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Feature
Autopilot
Autopilot combines a forward looking camera, radar, and 360 degree sonar
sensors with real time traffic updates to automatically drive Model S on the
open road and in dense stop and go traffic. Changing lanes becomes as simple as
a tap of the turn signal. When you arrive at your destination, Model S will both
detect a parking spot and automatically park itself. Standard equipment safety
features are constantly monitoring stop signs, traffic signals and pedestrians, as
well as for unintentional lane changes.
Autopilot features are progressively enabled over time with software updates.
The current software version is 6.2 , adding automatic emergency breaking and
blind spot warning.
Thank You
