   Tesla Motors, Inc. is
    a Silicon Valley-based
    company that
    designs, manufactures and
    sells electric cars and electric
    vehicle power
    train components.

HISTORY
   TESLA MOTORS was founded in 2003 by a group
    of intrepid Silicon Valley engineers who set out to
    prove that electric vehicles could be awesome.

   The Tesla Roadster hit the streets in early 2008
    as a car with no equal. Two years later, over 1,650
    Roadsters drive emissions-free in more than 31
    countries.
CORPORATE STRATEGY AND GOALS
   One of Tesla's stated goals is to increase the
    number and variety of EVs available to mainstream
    consumers in three ways:

      1.    Sells its own vehicles.

      2.    Sell patented electric powertrain components to other
            automakers so that they may get their own EVs(Electric
            vehicles) to customers sooner.

      3.    Serves as a catalyst and positive example to other
            automakers, demonstrating that there is pent-up consumer
            demand for vehicles that are both high-performance and
            efficient.
TESLA CAR MODELS
 Tesla Roadster            •Both cars are powered by lithium ion
                           battery cells.

                           •They have both have a driven range
                           of 300 miles.

                           •The Tesla Roadster is now being
                           sold for over $100,000 while the
                           Model S will be sold for $60,000.

Tesla Model S              •Charging adapters can be plugged in
                           to any household outlet.

                           •There most high efficient charging
                           adapter has a charging rate of 56
                           miles range per hour. The average

PARTNERSHIPS
As part of its collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, Tesla is
building electric powertrain components for the Mercedes A-
Class E-Cell, an electric car with a range of 124 miles




Tesla Motors and Toyota announced in July 2010 that
the two companies have signed an agreement to initiate
the development of a second generation of the
compact Toyota RAV4 EV.
