Comparing The Experience Of The Machine And The Matrix
Over many years many different philosophers have taken a step deciding the age old question of
what is reality. Also many movies have taken their own perspective on what reality is as well.
Many philosophers like Rene Descartes, George Berkeley and Robert Nozick and also in the
director and writers the movie The Matrix Lana and Lily Wachowski all take their own
perspective of reality in a certain way and put it in their own words. Descartes mediator, Georgia
Berkeley s principles of human knowledge, Robert Nozick the experience of the machine and the
movie The Matrix are all examples of taking a swing at reality and the existence of oneself. When
you take a look at the story that George Nozick wrote witches the experience of the machine it goes
into depth on an alternate reality. Its main premise is that you think therefore you... Show more

This idea can also be stated in many of the other writings, what he is stating is this place you re

Pleasure Machine to show why this perspective is bad, and tries to demonstrate that we
experience our lives in light of the fact that we want to do certain things, and not just have the
experience of doing them (Nozick). He s making you believe in this Laboratory or wherever you
are that while you re hooked up you are experiencing only happy thoughts nothing that will make
you upset or that is bad something better than the reality you are in. It could gets to the point
where you think you re always there. There is also fact if you want to live a life like that where

Describe The Causes And Effects Of European Imperialism
Despite a blistering cold war between east and west Europe in the 1950 s, including the violent
suppression of anti communist protests in 1956 Hungary, the six founders of the ECSC
reconvened in 1957 and signed the Treaty of Rome, which created the European Economic
Community, or the Common Market . 1960 1969: A period of Economic Growth The 1960 s are
generally regarded as a fruitful period for the European economy. The six EU nations agreed to
stop charging custom duties when trading each other and agreed to joint control over food
production, which resulted in a surplus of agricultural produce. In May 1968, French students
revolted and took a portion of Paris. Ten million workers soon joined the students, and a general
strike ensued. The so called 68 generation s protests against capitalism, consumerism, traditional
French institutions, and what they viewed as American Imperialism led to an overhaul of French
society and behavior still seen today. 1970 1979: A Growing Community and The First
Enlargement On January 1, 1973, Denmark, Ireland, and the United Kingdom joined the EU,
which at this point has nine members. The short Arab Israeli war of October 1973 resulted in a
widespread energy and economic crisis in Europe. In 1974 and 1975, the Iberian Peninsula, the
last stronghold of right wing dictatorships, joined the rest of democratic Western Europe as the
Salazar regime was overthrown in Portugal and General Franco of Spain died. The EU regional

Electronic Conveyancing ( E Conveyancing )
Electronic conveyancing (e conveyancing) was born as an inspired idea of the Land Registry
back in the early 2000s. Prior to that, with the ever increasing presence of technology in our day
to day lives, as well as business dealings, paper based Land Registry details had begun to be
computerised. Almost all registered titles of land had been entered on to a computer based
system by roughly the year 1995. There was a basic, rather rudimentary, usage of computer
systems. A system of direct access to a computerised register was introduced in 1995, called the
Land Registry Direct. (One of the tasks that were thus enabled, for example, was being able to
notify the registry of a discharge of a registered charge, or applications to a register.)... Show more

The Land Registry came to the conclusion of employing a comprehensive system of e
conveyancing. The report produced a detailed outline of the anticipated model of e conveyancing.
The problems of paper based conveyancing as several. England s traditional conveyance system
stands upon multitudes of paper documents and a heavy reliance on the standard mail. Both parties
to the the transaction, buyers and sellers, are subject to many possible problems within the
conveyancing process. A primary concern is the registration gap. This is the time between the
transfer of drawn up and agreed up contracts and the actual registration of the property unto the new
owner. Particular issues with the registration gap is the fact that in any transaction there are too
many parties involved, length of transaction is too long and the transparency/opaqueness is
questionable/questioned. One of the original few problems identified within the previous system
by the LR was the issue of overriding interests. These are third party interests that continue to bind
the estate and are enforceable against the purchaser, while not appearing on the register at all. This
makes it impossible to fully rely on the register, as it produces an actual risk to the purchaser. The
inevitable solution is to still do the investigation (enquiries and inspection). The LR

What Is The Theme Of The Day In Shadow By Nayantara Sahgal
TRADITION AND MODERNITY
The day in shadow primarily deals with the struggle of a young, beautiful and daring Indian woman
trapped under the burden of a brutal divorce settlement and the agony and unhappiness. Simrit
experiences in the hands of cruel and unjust male dominated society of India. The novel exposes the
life of the political leaders, business barons, journalists, and free thinkers in the bee and flow of the
daily living in New Delhi. Nayantara Sahgal s had presented the social life of these people living
in India in the early sixties when India was on her way to progress after the attainment of
independence. The novelist shows that though Indians had got freedom yet it was only on the
surface level as in their attitudes to love, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

traditional. Almost all the major characters were a mixture of both these elements. They were
modern in some aspects but traditional, or can side to be orthodox, in many other things. For
example, there was som who tries to be modern in each and every manner and blindly imitates the
western style of life. He speaks their language, learns their mannerisms and adopts their fashions. As

The Tenant Of Tenants And Landlords
As it often happens, there may come a time when a manager of an apartment building (landlord)
and a tenant argument rises up. These arguments can pop up over many different issues including
lease agreement rights, responsibility for repairs to the property, rent, evictions, and more. It is
unfortunate that not all tenants and landlords arguments can be settled by a simple conversation
between both parties to the lease. While many people in the U.S. are homeowners a great many
other people live as tenants in different types of rental residences. Even though tenants don t
actually own their rental residences they do receive certain rights almost the same in some ways to
ownership rights. Tenants of rental residences and their landlords also have responsibilities to each
other, including residence repairs. Depending on the situation/event, a tenant or a landlord may be
responsible for making repairs to the tenant s rental residence.
Knowledge of state law is extremely important to both tenants and landlords. Managers of apartment
buildings want to run a money making business and protect their investment. Tenants want to be
happy in their rental homes and protect their rights. At the end of the day, managers of apartment
buildings and people who occupy those rooms want to avoid legal hassles when it comes to rent,
deposits, repairs, and other key issues. Let s take a look at Larry s and Roger s situation and
figure out the best course of actions from both points of view.

Essay about The Handmaid s Tale by Margaret Atwood
In The Handmaid s Tale, much use is made of imagery; to enable the reader to create a more
detailed mental picture of the novel s action and also to intensify the emotive language used. In
particular, Atwood uses many images involving flowers and plants. The main symbolic image
that the flowers provide is that of life; in the first chapter of the novel Offred says ...flowers:
these are not to be dismissed. I am alive. Many of the flowers Offred encounters are in or around
the house where she lives; it can be suggested that this array of floral life is a substitute for the
lack of human life, birth and social interaction. The entire idea of anything growing can be seen as
a substitute for a child growing. The Commander s house contains... Show more content on

The tulips are too red in the first place, they hurt me. Their redness talks to my wound, it
corresponds. A dozen red lead sinkers round my neck. The mention of tulips in The Handmaid s
Tale also includes somewhat violent imagery; the shade of red is likened to something beginning
to heal . However, it is soon mentioned that The tulips are not tulips of blood Offred soon removes
herself from her neurotic state. In direct contrast to the fiery red of the tulips, the bathroom of the
house is papered in small blue flowers, forget me nots, with curtains to match. This time, not only
the colour but also the name of the flower is relevant. The calming, feminine pastel blue contrasts
with Offred s red clothing, but the name forget me not is also relevant, as Offred is reminiscing of

Misogynistic Gender Roles In Harry Potter
In their article, Cinderfella: J.K. Rowling s Wily Web of Gender , Gallardo and Smith argue that
by offering a proactive feminist interpretation they will show that there are alternative radical
readings of the series for both children and adults (191). They use several criteria to prove their
point by showing that the story of the hero Harry Potteris a cyclical feminine narrative (191). They
show this by presenting that the plot moves from a passive and difficult home life into the active
world of Hogwarts and back again repeatedly (191). This format is used in strictly traditional girl
tales such as the historic story of the heroine Cinderella which has been retold in over 700 versions
(195). The series presents misogynistic genderroles for most of the female characters such as
Petunia Dursley, Molly Weasley, and the departed Lily Potter who all represent reclusive
homemakers without much power (193 4). The series does portray Hermione Granger, Professor
Sibyll Trelawney, and Professor Minerva McGonagall who are women with a voice abate an
emotional one (192 4). The female characters are shown at most as rule enforcers while the male
characters of the series seem more fun, mostly... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Harry also possesses marvelous mastery over typically feminine symbols of witchcraft such as
the broom, black robes with a pointed hat, a wand and pewter cauldron (197). He also excels in
typically feminine subjects such as herbology and divination courses at Hogwarts (197). The very
symbol of the healed wound worn by Harry as his ever visible forehead lightning bolt scar can be
properly attributed to the vulnerable and opened feminine body as well as the union of weapon and
wound which show a unification of the feminine and masculine character

The current cost system allocates overhead costs once a year, as a function of direct labor dollars.
This allocation strategy results in:
Inaccurate allocation due to products at various levels of automation No incentive to reduce the
cost of materials A situation where a reduction in production will result in less overhead allocated to
the respective product Lack of incentive for employees to continually reduce their costs throughout
the year as a result of the annual calculation of overhead allocation.
Assuming that the company s goal is to maximize profits, the current cost system is not an
appropriate tool for strategic planning. The ambiguity of the overhead costs per product makes it
difficult to accurately analyze the cause and effect relationships of changes and/or improvements to
specific product line.
If the cost system reported sales volume and/or price we would be able to conduct an activity
analysis to determine an appropriate cost function to determine the best cost driver for each product.
4. Manifold Recommendation Based on Current Cost System
If we assume that the 1991 products, prices, sales volumes, materials costs and overhead are
unchanged from 1990 and that there are no process improvements that would lead to a reduction
in the direct labor of a product, it can be inferred that the company s profits would be identical to
those of 1990, as stated in Appendix B. However, if the same is assumed

Frankenstein Depicted In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
In the letters at the beginning of the novel, it s stated that a Robert Walton, an explorer, is sailing in
the Arctic Ocean and eventually stumbles upon an injured Victor Frankenstein. In the letters,
Walton is retelling what Frankenstein had told him about his story. Frankenstein was at birth a
Genevese, belonging to distinguished family. As a child, he enjoyed learning things and he was
quick to learn new subjects which explains why he had a profound love for science. Later his
mother, Caroline Beaufort, adopts a girl named Elizabeth Lavenza who she gives to Frankenstein
and takes his mother words literally, believing that Elizabeth belonged to him. When Frankenstein
was about to leave to university, his mother and Elizabeth develop the scarlett fever, his mother
dies while Elizabeth recovers from the illness. Eventually he develops a desire to bring back the
dead. He uses a mixture of different science to achieve this twisted goal of his. He isolates himself
from his friends and family to get his experiment done and when he gets his wish, instead of caring
and nurturing his creation, he flees in fear and disgust, leaving the creature to fend for himself.

Summer day in Manhattan Beach It was another scorching hot summer day in Los Angeles,

the temperature hits 80 or above in California the beach is where we go. This day was one of
those days, the temperature hit 89 degrees, and it was sticky hot. The type of heat that makes
you feel like you re going to melt. I hate hot days, preferably I like cold nights. You can just grab
a blanket and sip on something warm and you re ok. The beach is the best place to find quick and

I would like to say that I am a very good swimmer in beach waters, and know how to stay away
from the rip current that can pull you into the ocean. One of those days I got too comfortable
with my abilities to swim in strong currents. Like usual I get in the water and only go neck deep
in the water. I love to float and feel weightless for a few minutes, with no gravity to pull me down.
That day I watched the news early Saturday morning, quite unusual since I rarely watch TV to begin
with, but I caught the weather warnings and beach warnings that were said to be in the high 80 s
with stronger than usual rip currents. I bought a new swim suit, it was a black Rockabilly style
halter top one piece and was I determined to wear it. I decided to ignore the warnings I had heard
that morning and got in those waters. Neck deep in the water and enjoying the cool
temperatures, I was worry free. As I got deeper and deeper in the water I felt the strength of the
waves and strong pull of the current nearby. It was nothing I hadn t felt before; I have been in
those same waters over a hundred times at least. Floating like wild sea weed I let myself get
dragged in towards the current pulling in. I begin to try to walk parallel to the beach as you
should do when in such situation. As I felt the strong pull of the current, I remembered the news

Emily Dickinson Dashes
Dickinson s main forms of syntactical variation in the poem revolve around her use of dashes and
enjambment. To elaborate, the second stanza of the poem, rife with rhyme, utilizes enjambment to
further emphasize the seemingly endless investigation presented in the poem. The first three lines
of the stanza, I turned my Being round and round / And paused at every pound / To ask the
Owner s name , are devoid of any punctuation until the dash at the end of the third line. This
emphasizes the feeling of disorientation noted in the previous paragraph, especially considering
the rest of the poem is littered with dashes which force Dickinson s readers to slow their reading
with no notice whatsoever. However, the use of dashes in I felt my life

Death s Acre: Inside the Legendary Forensic Lab the Body Farm Where the Dead Do Tell Tales
By: Dr. Bill Bass and Jon Jefferson
Introduction Death s Acre is an interseting book to some, but to people like me I did not like it
very much. This book is about a body farm in Tennessee on several acres of land where dead corpse
lay out in the open fresh air decaying with the aid of insects, bacteria, and birds. In the book Death
s Acre, Dr. Bill Bass invites the reader on an unprecedented journey behind the gates of the Body
Farm where he revolutionized forensic anthropology. He reveals his most intriguing cases for the
first time. He explores the mystery of a headless corpse whose identity astonished police and
divulges how the telltale traces of an insect sent a murderous grandfather to death roe.

Death Star Research Paper
Anyone who thought Star Wars couldn t become more popular is wrong. It now appears that
NASA is actually talking about it. Also, the XPRIZE Foundation recently launched a global
competition for companies to map the seafloor and explore ocean mysteries. The winner of this
competition is set to make a good amount of money as well.
NASA SAYS THEY CAN MAKE A STAR WARS DEATH STAR
What seems like a science fiction dream could soon be a reality. A NASA engineer, Brian
Muirhead, actually stated that the company could one day build their own Death Star. He states
that this could be possible because of asteroids. Muirhead says that asteroids would give them the
necessary metals to make it. Organic compounds, water, and all of the building blocks are present
to eventually build a custom Death Star.

on. Some comments from members of the White House included that The Administration does not
support planets begin blown up. They also asked the people who made the petition why on earth
they would spend so much money on a Death Star. It sounds like a fun idea, but NASA can not
expect the White House to pitch in.
STAR WARS POPULARITY IS MIND BLOWING
It is truly amazing to think that an organization as big as NASA is even talking about Star Wars.
Star Wars has truly become a global phenomenon and I do not think people realize how
widespread it is. The upcoming movie is only helping matters, but even before then it was
extremely popular. If NASA does eventually make their own Death Star, then it can be rest assured
that Star Wars will hit even a new level of popularity. That is almost hard to imagine.

Reparation for the Non-Compensated Group in the District...
During the Suriname Guerrilla War between 1986 and 1992 between the Jungle commando led by
Ronnie Brunswijk and the Surinamese military team headed by Desi Bouterse, the human rights of
the people who were living in the tribal communities in the district of Marowijne were consistently
being violated. However a peace agreement had been signed in France Guiana in May 1992, the
American Court of Human Rightssentenced the government of Suriname of committing actions
against human rights and ordered the state to start an investigation to compensate the civilians of
the massacre in the Moiwana village on November 29, 1986 in Marowijne (Inter American Court of

However the actions against human rights in this village draw much more attention, because of the
killing of 39 community members, mostly women and children, in a search for the guerrilla leader
Ronny Brunswijk. However taking the customary laws, usage, values and mores in consideration
the term traditional territories does not only refer to a particular village site, but also to the areas
according to the N Djuka customary law which reaches to the upper Tapanahony river in the district
of Sipaliwini. Unfortunately, the Inter American Court of Human Rights did not include the N
Djuka community members living in other villages rather than Moiwana and its members in her
judgment. On the other hand community members of Moiwana living in French Guiana were also
taken in consideration by the judgment. In August 2005 the government of Suriname was ordered
to pay 13 million USD to 130 survivors and to establish a community fund (1.2 million USD) to
enhance the development of Moiwana (Sloover 2005).
The non compensated group or the left out group is in this case the communities who did not find
justice yet after the maltreatment and killings of community members in the earlier mentioned
guerrilla war. Even though some of the livelihoods were separated from each other and were lived
by one or two families whose human rights had been violated, similar Judgments as the Moiwana
case can be applied to the group on

Examples Of Guilt In The Book Thief
Regretful, ashamed, and sorry. Feeling responsible for a specified wrongdoing. Guilt. Have you
ever felt guilty? Do you ever blame yourself, or wish you could turn back time to change just the
smallest of details, knowing that your life will be so much better because of it? Yes or no, or
whatever your answer may be, many people, and many characters have. The Book Thief is a prime
example in which many of its characters experience guilt. They blamethemselves for the fact that
someone died while they are still alive, yet they find many ways to deal with this guilt.
Throughout The Book Thief, the author demonstrates how survivor s guilt continues to provide
motivation for the characters to alter their lives in many ways. Hans Hubermann is a character
in The Book Theif who experiences a large amount of survivor s guilt. Hans fought in the Great
War along with his friend Erik Vandenburg. On a day that everyone else was sent into battle,
Hans was not, due to the fact that Erik nominated him to stay and write letters for their sargeant.
He stayed while everyone else went off to fight. None of them came back (Zusak, 178). Hans
escaped death while the others in battle were not as fortunate. It was because of Erik
Vandenburg that Hans was still alive, and his feeling of guilt was overwhelming. Because of this,
he went to see Erik s family. He saved my life... If there is anything you ever need... (Zusak, 179).

A company has to find a way to achieve a balance between rewarding managers to the point that it
is detrimental to the company and finding a way to maximize the wealth of the shareholders. 6.
The goal of shareholder wealth maximization model is to maximize the return to shareholders,
and it is measured by the value of the firm s common stock. It is also concerned with minimizing
the risk to the shareholders bonuses. The model looks at the present value of all expected future
cash flows (McGuigan, Moyer, Harris, 2011, p.8). a) New foreign competitors: This has the
potential to decrease the value of the firm and could impact the future cash flows of a company.
The introduction of competition in the marketplace can affect the profitability of a company. The
level of the decrease in value would depend on the involvement of the firm in global markets and
the level of competition. b) Strict pollution control: This has the potential to decrease the value of
the firm if the firm cannot adapt to the changes in requirements. If the firm allows the stricter
requirements to hamper production, then the value of the firm would decrease. However, if the
firm has planned for this threat by having flexibility when making business plans or creating new

Imagine if East Jordan Middle High School (EJMHS) had an 8 man football team. We could
have great opportunities come our way. EJMHS must have an 8 man football team to lessen
injuries, improve our record, and better player stats. First of all, switching to an 8 man football
team would give the team more subs. One reason we would have more subs is because of three
less men on the field. In fact, since we only have 8 on the field, players get more breaks as
needed. More players on the sideline could cheer on the players on the field. Therefore, we
would have more subs on the sideline. Additionally, more subs on the sideline could keep the
coaches calmed down. As you may have noticed, coaches can get fired up, but more players could
stop them from getting the team a penalty. Subs could also stop our team from getting penalties. If

Alice s Wonderland, Through The Looking Glass And The...
Alice s Adventures in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass and The Wizard of Oz are
fictional stories about the coming of age. Children relate to these stories and admire both Alice
and Dorothy. In what can be assumed are Alice s and Dorothy s dreams, we see various
anthropomorphic creatures and animals. There imaginary worlds lead both girls to face situations
in which they must think maturely and at the same time lose a bit of their innocence, similar to
when a young child takes their first step in becoming their own mature and independent person.
When both girls admit for the first time they were not who they were when they first entered their
dreams, they took their first step into a new world of decision making and maturity. Alice and
Dorothy mature throughout the story and leaving behind the dependence and innocence every
person once had. Both girls are coming to the age of independence. Throughout Alice s and
Dorothy s journey in wonderland it can be seen that each girl loses the air of innocence they had
at the beginning of the story. The stories, Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the
Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll and The Wizard of Ozfilm directed by Victor Fleming, all
represent a coming of age story where a young girl must go on a journey, let go of her
childishness, and mature and face her fears in order to find their way home.
Distinguishing what is a dream and what is reality can be difficult. Most times it is obvious that a
dream is only a dream.

Diversity in Comics Over the years, comic books have reflected what has been happening in the
world around us. Hot topics and issues have taken place in these fantasy worlds. They have been
used as propaganda. For example, during the second world war, people could read about their
favorite heroes fighting and eventually defeating Hitler and the Nazis, therefore saving the world.
During the cold war, they fought the Soviets. Comics have brought a light to heavy topics that
are hard to talk about. In nineteen seventy one, DC Comics released a two part comic called
Snowbirds Don t Fly. It revealed that Green Arrow s sidekick, Roy Harper, who used the identi
attempting to diversify characters people have known and loved for years. That brings... Show more

This can be seen with beauty standards and stereotypes. This also applies to what s common.
Often you will hear people complain about there being too many gay characters in media, this
can also be applied to minority characters. The reality is that people are just not accustomed to
this diversity in media. Another issue is that people who are in these minorities aren t getting
represented so they are led to believe that their struggles are unique. This can be harmful and
lead to a multitude of issues. Representation is important. Comic books are a type of media and
minorities should be represented. As said earlier, comic books reflect life. So why should it not
reflect the diversity of everyday life. One of the common arguments you will hear is that
changing characters and adding diversity drives fans away. The only fans it honestly will ever
drive away are old fans holding onto old stereotypes. What drives away fans is bad writing. So in
the end the only ones who don t want change in comics ar the people who don t want change in
the world. The reality is that the world is changing and so should the media. The sooner we realize
this the sooner we can accept

Partition of India
The Partition Of India part 1 Independence
The british ruled over India for over two centuries, introducing systems, ideas, and practices into the
indian culture. In 1935, The Government of India Act was the most recent time Indiahad been
governed, and the government had a fair amount of responsibility. The already existing social order
influenced the nationalist movement, and the leaders being chosen. India developed a federal
government, with three legislative lists of power. The constitution of India is federal but also
includes a strong central government, with power over the union. The central government has
power over the states even though they are supposed to be autonomous. The new constitution of
india separates itself greatly from its british ruled past, just not necessarily politically. For example,
new fundamental rights were provided in this constitution for the first time, however the idea of
suffrage was also introduced by this constitution. There was much social and economic reform that
took place due to them trying to break away from their british past. https://books.google.com

Jacques And The Social Contract Theory
Jacques is arguably one of the most influential philosopher and thinkers not only during the
Enlightenment era in France and across Europe but also through the development of modern
political and educational work where many have been inspired by his writings. His ideas result
from his belief that every state has its origin in people who gave birth to its political structure,
fundamental laws and civil liberties. (Rousseau lecture1) Moreover Rousseau paid great attention to
nature and human feelings. He claimed that humans are naturally independent and held a belief that
man is born free and everywhere he is in chains (Rousseau, 2012, pg. 12 ) arguing that people in the
state of nature were fundamentally good and pure but became corrupt and evil through the
institution of civilised society (lecture). On the contrary, Rousseau remains to be a huge supporter
of the social contracttheory, which is considered by him as the source of states legitimacy,
criticises social inequality, authoritarianism and feudalism. As an important social contract
theorist, he also elaborates that people are the creators of law as well as the subject of law and
because they will provide themselves with the laws they wish to live by, the people s sovereignty
is assured by the societies contract that is created (Bertram, 2010). In his writings The Social
Contract or Principles of Political Right, Rousseau amplifies on the concept of the general will. In

Bodies, Machines, and Male Power by M. Carme Alemany Gomez
I chose to write my reflection paper on reading number twenty two Bodies, Machines, and Male
Power. This chapter is written by M. Carme Alemany Gomez. This article talks about washing
machines, and how most people only think the value of a washing machine is cleanliness. This
article shows that there are diverse ways in which how genderand class, affect the design,
operation, and construction of washing machines in Spain. Also how technology reinforced these
relationships. They talk about the process of washing clothes when males designed the
machines. Women had to learn the very movements that she must do repeatedly while using the
machine. If women were given a voice during the beginning stages perhaps the technology
would have been designed differently. When someone is designing or building a technology,
they make decisions about some details that affect the users. As we all know the washing
machine has been around for quite some time. The models we see today have taken at least 40
years of work and changes to get to where they are today. This study is approached by three
theories they expected to see class and gender relations in the life of a machine. Second they drew
off a Chinese tradition of thought. Third gender relations were saw as a set of power relationships
that not only involve the construction of values, but also constitute a process of bodily submission,
as evidence in postures, gestures and movements (Gomez Pg. 390). According to the most recent

Happy Milk Lab
Do Happy Cows Make Better Milk?: Analysis of the Chemical Components of Milk The main
goal of this lab was to correctly separate milk into its major components. Other objectives included:
performing basic qualitative tests to confirm correct separation, identifying the major components
of milk, and assigning polar and non polar properties to components of milk. The goal of
separating the components of milk was desirable because their differences in properties required
different techniques to separate them. The casein, Vitamins A, D, and E, and fats were all nonpolar
and therefore dissolved in nonpolar solutions.1 Whey, lactose, calcium, phosphate, vitamin B,
vitamin C, and water were all polar and therefore dissolved in polar solutions.1... Show more

The protein was unraveled as disruptions occurred in the protein s secondary and tertiary
structures.2 The result of denaturation was solid whey protein. The lactose, calcium, phosphate,
and water were unaffected by the heating process and remained liquid. In the third separation,
ethyl acetate was added to dissolve the fats mixed with the casein. Casein, unable to dissolve in
the nonpolar solution, remained a white solid.1 The ethyl acetate, with a lower boiling point
than the fat, was boiled off, leaving a yellow liquid containing fat and various fat soluble
vitamins. Vitamin A caused the liquid to be yellow, which confirmed the presence of vitamins.
The residue was added to water, where it proved to be insoluble in water. This indicated that the
residue contained fat, because fat was the only nonpolar liquid remaining at the end of the
separations. The tests for carbohydrates, lactose, calcium, and phosphates performed on the
liquid portion from the second separation were all positive. This was expected, so no errors were
made in the first or second separation. The tests for proteins performed on the solids produced
from the separation were both positive, so no errors were made in the separations that isolated
casein and whey. The test for proteins performed on the liquid portion from the second separation
was negative. This was expected because it meant that all of the whey was removed from this
portion in the denaturing

student nursing career, I felt that were so many limitations, but then, slowly, these perceived
restrictions were removed. There are still things that I am not allowed to do, but now I do not
have to ask the nurse if I can do a head to toe on the patient. I walk in the room and perform
assessment of vital signs without the nurse guiding me. I would check in first with my preceptor

I did not want anyone to think that I am not a team player. I never think any job is too small for
me, because one day I would need someone else s help on the job anywhere I work. If there was
a reason why I was not able do the tasks I would communicate with staff, but I have not done so
far. When a client needed to be placed on a bedpan or required a change and the tech was busy, I
would jump in and help out. I decided that I would take charge of the situation without being
told. When I was done helping with ADL s of the clients, I also thought when the following pain
medication is due and communicated with the client when it was due. It seemed to help when
they know that two people are on top of the medication schedule. Communication with each

Comparing The Characters In Ray Bradbury s The Paterson...
In Ray Bradbury s fictional novel about the horrifying future, he discusses topics that, politically
and socially, can relate to Judith Ortiz Cofer s short story; The Paterson Public Library. These two
pertain to each other because both Bradbury s and Cofer s characters are afraid of situations that
involve books. Though they do compare in many ways, there are also differences between the
stories.
Cofer says that every trip to the library would be a dangerous one because of the black girl
Lorraine. It took me through enemy territory, says Cofer. Bradbury s character Montag was
afraid of being seen with books because they were illegal and he was afraid that he would be
burned for having them. In a similar manner, Cofer was afraid of being in a situation on her way
to get her books. She was afraid that the older bully would hurt her.
Montag is more hostile when he takes action in Bradbury s novel. Cofer does not take action, she is
a tutor for her bully and she cannot get through to the bully. Bradbury s bully, it turns out, is one of
Montag s friends. Beatty is a friend of Montag in the beginning of Bradbury s novel, later in the
story, though; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cofer preserves her intelligence and gains intelligence through the use of books. This could
show students that books are a great way to acquire knowledge instead of just school. Bradbury
hints at the way we used books in our society and abuse them today. We do not appreciate the
way that they are mistreated and basically left to rot in the unused libraries. Since we treat books
very wrong and don t use them to gain knowledge and explore the depths of our imagination,
Clarisse asks a very simple, yet deep question; Are you

The Holistic Approach Of Education
The conceptual map, figure: 2.2 provides the summary of this discretion in a schematic form.
The Holistic Approach in Education Holistic education stands clear that learners, need a wide range
of skills to transform their lives, and that of others around them. Certainly educating children is not
a matter of flooding the market needs and fulfillment. According to Singh (2007), in the progressive
changing world, learners need the capability to deal with the indeterminable future. In point of fact,
a conventional wisdom pinpoints that a holistic education approach tackles all aspects of human
challenges (p. 107) in life. Then, he went on to ask, whether an education, support learners to create
capability, a useful key factor for the reconstruction of any country. The education system, scarcely
provides learners for instance, with skills for commendable eating habit. That, in turn leads to the
other question, of how often the education offers learners with the knowledge of avoiding the
consumption of alcohol, tobacco, or drug that may ruin their health (Singh, 2007). A few
aforementioned examples represent a segment of problems among others that children face daily,
but not offered in their learning process. Schools should not create receivers of fresh ideas, as a
substitute, instead support learners to ask questions in their learning process. Singh (2007)
continues to argue that education should support learners in the creation of strong body and mind
for thinking,

Julius Caesar Omens Essay
By: Phillip Gigliotti Omens Are Not To Be Ignored A sign of the future of good or evil is
considered to be an omen. Plenty of omens are displayed throughout the Tragedy of Julius Caesar,
written by Shakespeare. If these omens are ignored negativity is often the only outcome for the
character as demonstrated in the play. Some of these omens include Caesar ignoring Calpurnia s
unpleasant dream and his servant s simple warning. Cassius disagrees with Casca s statement of
the god s anger toward Caesar s death and he allows Antony to live. Brutus disapproves of Cassius s
consent to prevent Antony from speaking at Caesars funeral and Brutus agrees to the ghost s
demands. Caesar, Cassius, and Brutus ignore important omens that are presented to... Show more

Cassius explains, Marc Antony, so well beloved of Caesar, should outlive Caesar... as to annoy
us all : which to prevent, let Antony and Caesar fall together. (Shakespeare, 2.1,154 161) Cassius
states that he wants Caesar dead, but never follows through with his plans. If Cassius were to
only ignore Brutus s opinion about Antony living he would not have to realize the truth during
Antony s speech about what the conspirators did to Caesar and how it was wrong. Since Cassius
ignores his own omen about taking out Antony he later regret s it because it is what leads
Cassius to his suicide. Cassius disregards Casca s warning of the God s disappointment during
the storm and fails to assassinate Antony along with Caesar. Clearly this proves that Cassius
overlooks omens which significantly affects his life as he was soon led to suicide. Alternatively,
Marcus Brutus does not acknowledge various omens which later become reasons for his demise
near the time of his death. Brutus disagrees with Cassius s consent to prevent Antony from
speaking at Caesar s funeral and Brutus agrees to go where the ghost requests. Brutus engages in a
quick conversation with Cassius where he allows Antony to speak at Caesar s funeral. Cassius
disapproves of Brutus decision because he believes it may cause the people of Rome to realize that
the conspirators were in fact murders. Cassius states, You know not what you do: do not consent

Within a short drive of the Hotel Ranga constructed in an attractive alpine style with wood,
which is rare in Iceland since there are very few trees we were marvelling at the power of vast
waterfalls which crashed down the face of dark cliffs into deep pools and out again into salmon

Bjorn, who was generously acting as our guide for the day, explained that the lowland areas would

How I Build A Personal Computer
How to Build a Personal Computer
Building your own PC (personal computer) is a both informative and cost effective method when
you are in need of a computer. The process of selecting compatible parts is the most difficult part
of building your own computer, but luckily assembling everything is a very easy process that will
be outlined in the following pages.
Step 1: Preparing your workspace
The first step in the process of assembling your brand new PC is to select the best workplace
available to protect your shiny new parts. Static electricity is the biggest worry to have while
constructing a brand new computer and there are precautions to take whether you are on a solid
smooth surface, or more importantly, on carpet. First and foremost, the most important item to
have on hand is an anti static wrist strap. The use of a wrist strap will help prevent ESD
(electrostatic discharge) that could possibly damage the components during assembly. Another
important aspect is to keep the area free of clutter and have a flat open space that will allow for
easy movement around the computer case. Take care when moving and unwrapping the parts to
avoid possibly damaging any pins or chipping the fragile edges of things such as the motherboard,
memory, and video card. Once everything has been removed from its protective wrapping, you can
begin piecing everything together.
Step 2: Installing the motherboard
The second step in building your computer will be to install the motherboard with

Another writer who impacts Heinlein s novel is John W. Campbell Jr. due to the similarities
between Campbell s main policy of how technology affects the social economy and Heinlein s

The Importance of Documenting Patient Status and Care
Documentation of patient status and care is important for a variety of reasons. First, it allows
health care professionals to plan and evaluate treatment. Health care records are also used as a
communication tool by multidisciplinary teams. Documentation is also used as evidence in legal
matters, and for reimbursements. Health care agenizes also use electronic health recorddata to study
and improve future care. Because there are so many things that health records are used for there are
important things you should be sure to include. When documenting the most crucial parts is
documenting interventions and the patients reactions to chosen interventions. If there are any
significant events or changes in the patient or the plan it must be documented. Always be sure to
documentif and when informed consent for procedures and actions is needed. If the patient refuses
treatment or leaves against medical advice be sure to document. Medications are always
documented along with any occurrences such as medication errors or falls. Most importantly
always include the date and time on all of the notes. With all this information that should be
included in documentation it is helpful to sort it into subjective and objective data. Objective data
is going to be something that is gathered through physical assessment or from lab and diagnostic
tests. Most objective data can be measured such as vital signs. Subjective data is information given
to the nurse by the patient or a family

Impulse Control In Romeo And Juliet Analysis
One might believe that fate or destiny is the crucial reasons behind the characters catastrophe.
However, it is actually the impulses and the inability to control it which results in the enormous
amount of tragedies in this play. In the play, Romeo and Juliet by William shakespeare; Romeo,
Juliet and Mercutio are pivotal characters who choose to make decisions on impulses. Haste
combined with the dearth of impulse management is the main reason of this play s several tragic
events. If a number of the characters gained the power to carry off their impulsive acts and ponder
things through, there would be a better chance that the deaths of lover, Juliet and others may have

Moreover, Mercutio could have avoided this situation if he had showed respect in return. This
comes to show how mercutio had made impulsive decisions instead of making rational decisions.
As a result, we can see Mercutio s death occurs due to his rash and impulsive decisions. Mercutio
s impulsive acts result in his own passing. When Romeo refuses to participate in a duel with
Tybalt, Mercutio challenges Tybalt himself. Using words which are highly intimidating and
threatening, Mercutio gives Tybalt no choice but to engage in a duel. The following violent
words are exchanged between the two characters. TYBALT: Boy, this shall not excuse the

with my family, I still found time for what was important to me. My grandfather tragically, yet
peacefully, passed away on September 28, 2016, two days before the due date for my exam. This
unfortunate experience exposed a characteristic that could not be displayed through any
standardized test, commitment. The persistence of the quality of my coursework proves my
college readiness more than any other factor ever could. If I can receive an A in a course that I
finished only two days after the death of my greatest role model, I can undoubtedly thrive in the

Lessons learnt by founders from first success If they give something to people which helps them
in day to day life they will buy it Even though there were 50 companies in India selling mobile
phones which is dominated by more than 60 percent share from Nokia there were still features,
niches and categories that could be carved out by the new entrants They realised that competing
on price alone with Big 3 players (Nokia, Samsung and LG) was not going to help They wanted to
create their own new unexplored categories They also realised that fierce competition among
mobile operators for subscribers would lead to multiple connections per user hence came the dual
SIM phone which became their second killer category (mentioned above)
Strategy to sustain in long term The team were thinking well ahead of time and did not want to be
tagged as One time Wonder company so they deployed a smart distribution sales strategy.
They were very careful in their product strategy, though Micromax where at the lower end of the
pricing spectrum the brand was focussing on adding more features at a reasonable price. The focus
was more on Value than Price , Innvation, Cost Effective, Credible and Insightful R D There were
certain USP in their products which offered more value. The

Shi Huangdi Was Considered A Tyrant
Shi Huangdi was a part of China. He was the first to unite all the states in China during the
Warring States period and became the first self proclaimed Emperor of China. Also to top it off,
Shi Huangdi was considered a ruthless tyrant; a person who is cruel to all the people of China
and is considered this in history. Shi Huangdi s strict attitude towards the empire was essential
for his Legalist beliefs. Although he is considered to be a tyrant, Shi Huangdi helped China to be
in a strong, well vised government. Before the Ruling of Shi Huangdi Before Shi Huangdi was
the ruler of the Qin state, China was in utter chaos. At that time the states of the Autumn and
Spring Period were having conflicts with the other Chinese states. This time of independence and
war against the states was called the Warring States period. Seven major states tested their
strength with the others; the states would be: the Han, Wei, Zhao, Qi, Chu, Yan, and Qin. During
this time, all tried to overcome the enemy in order to expand their territory. In the Qin state, a
growing leader was about to prosper. Legends says a wealthy merchant who is acquainted with
King Zhuangxiang of Qin came to him one day in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty (770 256 BCE). His
name was Lu Buwei. On that day, Lu Buwei had arranged with the king to meet his lovely wife,
Zhao Ji. As soon as they met, the King Zhuangxiang of Qin felt an attraction to her. Eventually,
Zhao Ji became the mistress of King Zhuangxiang of Qin and in 259

The plagues in England Essay
In England there were three specific plagues that i will be talking about, they are the bubonic
plague The Black Death , pulmonary plague and the pneumonic plague. These plagues were really
interesting to read about. They were so bad that many people died from them. The doctors didn t
know what was wrong with the people since there was that much new technology in the thirteenth
century. The black deathwas a deadly epidemic that was spread from Asia to Europe by twelve
trading ships that were at the port of Messina after a long expedition through the Black Sea in the
thirteen hundreds by October. People who congregated on the docks to greet the people saw that
most of the people on board were dead, and the people who were still... Show more content on

If plague is evolved within the flea and rat population it is called enzootic. As the plague
multiplies, it blocks the passage of blood to the flea s stomach then threatens starvation; the flea
disgorges blood that is infected with many bacilli into the bloodstream of its entertainer, causing
death. The black plague was not only caused by cargoes from the east, but by the seasonal
changes in rat and flea ecology. London had suffered epidemics in 1563, 1593, 1603, and 1625;
quantities of people died of the disease. At first the Bubonic plague was in the west rather than in
the east. Unfortunately the plague became immune to the people. The shift in population, with
changes in rat and fleas caused major deaths and diseases in humans. When the plague of 1665
disappeared they didn t need an explanation. The rats had acquired the immunity. During this
horrible time, the weaker people died while the stronger people developed great immunities. This
explained why the plague established itself far more strongly in London than in any other part of
the country. The black rat was later then replaced with the brown rat, since they lived underground
and the fleas wouldn t bite people like the black rats fleas would.
There are three types of plagues all occurring within humans. Bubonic plague consists in sixty to
eighty percent mortal. The first symptoms appear between thirty six

adventure of a boy called Santiago and his pilgrimage on finding his Personal Legend.
Nonetheless how boring it may sound, the book really brought a new perspective of viewing

come to the boy if it wasn t for the people he meets and his heart. Upon reading this essay, you

how this can help you succeed in life, as well as it has helped me. At the start of the book,

The Importance Of Drug Testing And Background Screening
Drug testing and background screening allows staff to be able to separate sexual predators, violent
criminals and drug abusers. This is to protect staff, volunteers and residents from harm and to
determine what type of help abusers need. Drug tests and background screenings are necessary to
ensure the safety of residents, volunteers and staff at the homeless shelter. Homeless shelters
administer background screenings and drug testing to all potential residents. Drug testing is to
determine what type of help they need to provide. Background screenings are to expose any violent
criminals or sexual predators. The purpose of this is to help the shelter meet its goals. Should
homeless shelters administer background screenings and drug tests? Drug testing and background
screenings allow staff to separate sexual predators, violent criminals and drug abusers. This is to
protect staff, volunteers and residents from harm and to determine what help drug and alcohol
abusers need. This is to protect residents, also to provide a safe, comfortable place to live. The
purpose of this is to ensure the safety of residents, volunteers and staff at the shelter. Drugs and
alcohol have always been closely linked to homelessnessand people who have committed violent or
sexual crimes tend to have a harder time finding jobs. Drinking alcohol is a choice, a temporary
solution that makes the problem worse. Because of drug testing upon entering the shelter, Raul was
able to get the

  • 2. Comparing The Experience Of The Machine And The Matrix Over many years many different philosophers have taken a step deciding the age old question of what is reality. Also many movies have taken their own perspective on what reality is as well. Many philosophers like Rene Descartes, George Berkeley and Robert Nozick and also in the director and writers the movie The Matrix Lana and Lily Wachowski all take their own perspective of reality in a certain way and put it in their own words. Descartes mediator, Georgia Berkeley s principles of human knowledge, Robert Nozick the experience of the machine and the movie The Matrix are all examples of taking a swing at reality and the existence of oneself. The six EU nations agreed to stop charging custom duties when trading each other and agreed to joint control over food production, which resulted in a surplus of agricultural produce. In May 1968, French students revolted and took a portion of Paris. Ten million workers soon joined the students, and a general strike ensued. The so called 68 generation s protests against capitalism, consumerism, traditional French institutions, and what they viewed as American Imperialism led to an overhaul of French society and behavior still seen today. 1970 1979: A Growing Community and The First Enlargement On January 1, 1973, Denmark, Ireland, and the United Kingdom joined the EU, which at this point has nine members. • 5. Electronic Conveyancing ( E Conveyancing ) Electronic conveyancing (e conveyancing) was born as an inspired idea of the Land Registry back in the early 2000s. Prior to that, with the ever increasing presence of technology in our day to day lives, as well as business dealings, paper based Land Registry details had begun to be computerised. Almost all registered titles of land had been entered on to a computer based system by roughly the year 1995. There was a basic, rather rudimentary, usage of computer systems. A system of direct access to a computerised register was introduced in 1995, called the Land Registry Direct. (One of the tasks that were thus enabled, for example, was being able to notify the registry of a discharge of a registered charge, or applications to a register.)... The report produced a detailed outline of the anticipated model of e conveyancing. The problems of paper based conveyancing as several. England s traditional conveyance system stands upon multitudes of paper documents and a heavy reliance on the standard mail. Both parties to the the transaction, buyers and sellers, are subject to many possible problems within the conveyancing process. A primary concern is the registration gap. This is the time between the transfer of drawn up and agreed up contracts and the actual registration of the property unto the new owner. Particular issues with the registration gap is the fact that in any transaction there are too many parties involved, length of transaction is too long and the transparency/opaqueness is questionable/questioned. One of the original few problems identified within the previous system by the LR was the issue of overriding interests. These are third party interests that continue to bind the estate and are enforceable against the purchaser, while not appearing on the register at all. This makes it impossible to fully rely on the register, as it produces an actual risk to the purchaser. The inevitable solution is to still do the investigation (enquiries and inspection). The LR ... These arguments can pop up over many different issues including lease agreement rights, responsibility for repairs to the property, rent, evictions, and more. It is unfortunate that not all tenants and landlords arguments can be settled by a simple conversation between both parties to the lease. While many people in the U.S. are homeowners a great many other people live as tenants in different types of rental residences. Even though tenants don t actually own their rental residences they do receive certain rights almost the same in some ways to ownership rights. Tenants of rental residences and their landlords also have responsibilities to each other, including residence repairs. Depending on the situation/event, a tenant or a landlord may be responsible for making repairs to the tenant s rental residence. Knowledge of state law is extremely important to both tenants and landlords. Managers of apartment buildings want to run a money making business and protect their investment. Tenants want to be happy in their rental homes and protect their rights. At the end of the day, managers of apartment buildings and people who occupy those rooms want to avoid legal hassles when it comes to rent, deposits, repairs, and other key issues. The main symbolic image that the flowers provide is that of life; in the first chapter of the novel Offred says ...flowers: these are not to be dismissed. I am alive. Many of the flowers Offred encounters are in or around the house where she lives; it can be suggested that this array of floral life is a substitute for the lack of human life, birth and social interaction. They use several criteria to prove their point by showing that the story of the hero Harry Potteris a cyclical feminine narrative (191). They show this by presenting that the plot moves from a passive and difficult home life into the active world of Hogwarts and back again repeatedly (191). This format is used in strictly traditional girl tales such as the historic story of the heroine Cinderella which has been retold in over 700 versions (195). The current cost system allocates overhead costs once a year, as a function of direct labor dollars. This allocation strategy results in: Inaccurate allocation due to products at various levels of automation No incentive to reduce the cost of materials A situation where a reduction in production will result in less overhead allocated to the respective product Lack of incentive for employees to continually reduce their costs throughout the year as a result of the annual calculation of overhead allocation. Assuming that the company s goal is to maximize profits, the current cost system is not an appropriate tool for strategic planning. The ambiguity of the overhead costs per product makes it difficult to accurately analyze the cause and effect relationships of changes and/or improvements to specific product line. If the cost system reported sales volume and/or price we would be able to conduct an activity analysis to determine an appropriate cost function to determine the best cost driver for each product. 4. Representation is important. Comic books are a type of media and minorities should be represented. As said earlier, comic books reflect life. So why should it not reflect the diversity of everyday life. One of the common arguments you will hear is that changing characters and adding diversity drives fans away. The only fans it honestly will ever drive away are old fans holding onto old stereotypes. What drives away fans is bad writing. So in the end the only ones who don t want change in comics ar the people who don t want change in the world. The reality is that the world is changing and so should the media. • 23. Partition Of Indi India Alex Ferry Period 1 Ap world history 5/30/15 Partition of India The Partition Of India part 1 Independence The british ruled over India for over two centuries, introducing systems, ideas, and practices into the indian culture. In 1935, The Government of India Act was the most recent time Indiahad been governed, and the government had a fair amount of responsibility. The already existing social order influenced the nationalist movement, and the leaders being chosen. India developed a federal government, with three legislative lists of power. The constitution of India is federal but also includes a strong central government, with power over the union. The central government has power over the states even though they are supposed to be autonomous. The new constitution of india separates itself greatly from its british ruled past, just not necessarily politically. For example, new fundamental rights were provided in this constitution for the first time, however the idea of suffrage was also introduced by this constitution. There was much social and economic reform that took place due to them trying to break away from their british past. https://books.google.com /books?hl=en lr= id=dtKe6XV8z7wC oi=fnd pg=PR10 dq=independence+of+india ots=DEXY6BHkwP sig=nzxK29rpFpr8eRL1ZogYXZbMNz0#v=onepage q=independence%20of%20india f=false The Politics of India Since Independence By Paul R. • 24. Jacques And The Social Contract Theory Jacques is arguably one of the most influential philosopher and thinkers not only during the Enlightenment era in France and across Europe but also through the development of modern political and educational work where many have been inspired by his writings. His ideas result from his belief that every state has its origin in people who gave birth to its political structure, fundamental laws and civil liberties. (Rousseau lecture1) Moreover Rousseau paid great attention to nature and human feelings. He claimed that humans are naturally independent and held a belief that man is born free and everywhere he is in chains (Rousseau, 2012, pg. 12 ) arguing that people in the state of nature were fundamentally good and pure but became corrupt and evil through the institution of civilised society (lecture). On the contrary, Rousseau remains to be a huge supporter of the social contracttheory, which is considered by him as the source of states legitimacy, criticises social inequality, authoritarianism and feudalism. As an important social contract theorist, he also elaborates that people are the creators of law as well as the subject of law and because they will provide themselves with the laws they wish to live by, the people s sovereignty is assured by the societies contract that is created (Bertram, 2010). In his writings The Social Contract or Principles of Political Right, Rousseau amplifies on the concept of the general will. In this essay I will explain and asses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Bodies, Machines, and Male Power by M. Carme Alemany Gomez I chose to write my reflection paper on reading number twenty two Bodies, Machines, and Male Power. This chapter is written by M. Carme Alemany Gomez. This article talks about washing machines, and how most people only think the value of a washing machine is cleanliness. This article shows that there are diverse ways in which how genderand class, affect the design, operation, and construction of washing machines in Spain. Also how technology reinforced these relationships. They talk about the process of washing clothes when males designed the machines. Women had to learn the very movements that she must do repeatedly while using the machine. If women were given a voice during the beginning stages perhaps the technology would have been designed differently. When someone is designing or building a technology, they make decisions about some details that affect the users. As we all know the washing machine has been around for quite some time. The models we see today have taken at least 40 years of work and changes to get to where they are today. This study is approached by three theories they expected to see class and gender relations in the life of a machine. Second they drew off a Chinese tradition of thought. Third gender relations were saw as a set of power relationships that not only involve the construction of values, but also constitute a process of bodily submission, as evidence in postures, gestures and movements (Gomez Pg. 390). Other objectives included: performing basic qualitative tests to confirm correct separation, identifying the major components of milk, and assigning polar and non polar properties to components of milk. The goal of separating the components of milk was desirable because their differences in properties required different techniques to separate them. The casein, Vitamins A, D, and E, and fats were all nonpolar and therefore dissolved in nonpolar solutions.1 Whey, lactose, calcium, phosphate, vitamin B, vitamin C, and water were all polar and therefore dissolved in polar solutions.1... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The protein was unraveled as disruptions occurred in the protein s secondary and tertiary structures.2 The result of denaturation was solid whey protein. The lactose, calcium, phosphate, and water were unaffected by the heating process and remained liquid. In the third separation, ethyl acetate was added to dissolve the fats mixed with the casein. Casein, unable to dissolve in the nonpolar solution, remained a white solid.1 The ethyl acetate, with a lower boiling point than the fat, was boiled off, leaving a yellow liquid containing fat and various fat soluble vitamins. Vitamin A caused the liquid to be yellow, which confirmed the presence of vitamins. The residue was added to water, where it proved to be insoluble in water. This indicated that the residue contained fat, because fat was the only nonpolar liquid remaining at the end of the separations. The tests for carbohydrates, lactose, calcium, and phosphates performed on the liquid portion from the second separation were all positive. This was expected, so no errors were made in the first or second separation. The tests for proteins performed on the solids produced from the separation were both positive, so no errors were made in the separations that isolated casein and whey. The test for proteins performed on the liquid portion from the second separation was negative. This was expected because it meant that all of the whey was removed from this portion in the denaturing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Ray Bradbury s fictional novel about the horrifying future, he discusses topics that, politically and socially, can relate to Judith Ortiz Cofer s short story; The Paterson Public Library. These two pertain to each other because both Bradbury s and Cofer s characters are afraid of situations that involve books. Though they do compare in many ways, there are also differences between the stories. Cofer says that every trip to the library would be a dangerous one because of the black girl Lorraine. It took me through enemy territory, says Cofer. Bradbury s character Montag was afraid of being seen with books because they were illegal and he was afraid that he would be burned for having them. In a similar manner, Cofer was afraid of being in a situation on her way to get her books. She was afraid that the older bully would hurt her. Montag is more hostile when he takes action in Bradbury s novel. Cofer does not take action, she is a tutor for her bully and she cannot get through to the bully. The Holistic Approach in Education Holistic education stands clear that learners, need a wide range of skills to transform their lives, and that of others around them. Certainly educating children is not a matter of flooding the market needs and fulfillment. According to Singh (2007), in the progressive changing world, learners need the capability to deal with the indeterminable future. In point of fact, a conventional wisdom pinpoints that a holistic education approach tackles all aspects of human challenges (p. 107) in life. Then, he went on to ask, whether an education, support learners to create capability, a useful key factor for the reconstruction of any country. The education system, scarcely provides learners for instance, with skills for commendable eating habit. That, in turn leads to the other question, of how often the education offers learners with the knowledge of avoiding the consumption of alcohol, tobacco, or drug that may ruin their health (Singh, 2007). A few aforementioned examples represent a segment of problems among others that children face daily, but not offered in their learning process. Schools should not create receivers of fresh ideas, as a substitute, instead support learners to ask questions in their learning process. Since Cassius ignores his own omen about taking out Antony he later regret s it because it is what leads Cassius to his suicide. Cassius disregards Casca s warning of the God s disappointment during the storm and fails to assassinate Antony along with Caesar. The process of selecting compatible parts is the most difficult part of building your own computer, but luckily assembling everything is a very easy process that will be outlined in the following pages. Step 1: Preparing your workspace The first step in the process of assembling your brand new PC is to select the best workplace available to protect your shiny new parts. Static electricity is the biggest worry to have while constructing a brand new computer and there are precautions to take whether you are on a solid smooth surface, or more importantly, on carpet. First and foremost, the most important item to have on hand is an anti static wrist strap. The use of a wrist strap will help prevent ESD (electrostatic discharge) that could possibly damage the components during assembly. Another important aspect is to keep the area free of clutter and have a flat open space that will allow for easy movement around the computer case. Take care when moving and unwrapping the parts to avoid possibly damaging any pins or chipping the fragile edges of things such as the motherboard, memory, and video card. Once everything has been removed from its protective wrapping, you can begin piecing everything together. Step 2: Installing the motherboard The second step in building your computer will be to install the motherboard with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
