Hi there, are you ok? I’m
Teaching Reading
                                teaching reading; and there
                                are many reasons why
                                wetting students to read
                                English texts is an important
                                part of the teacher’s job.




        I’m OK, I agree, many
       students want to be
       able t o read text in
       English for study
       purposes or simply for
       pleasure.
Reading is
useful for
language
acquisition, I
think so.




                 Reading also has a
                 positive effect on
                 students’ vocabulary
                 knowledge, on their
                 spelling and their
                 writing.
Good Reading texts can introduce
                     interesting topics, stimulate discussion,
                    excite imaginative responses and provide
                               fascinating lessons.




We can encourage
students to focus on
vocabulary, grammar or
punctuation.
We need to encourage students to
read as often and as much as possible;
it is a good idea to discuss this
principle whit students.




                                   Our students need to be
                                   engaged whit what they are
                                   Reading; that is, we should
                                   try to help them get as much
                                   pleasure from it as possible.
My angle is: prediction is a major factor in
        Reading such as: photographs and headlines hint
        at what articles are about; we can identify reports
        from their appearance before we read a single
        word.




We need to integrate the Reading tex
tinto interesting lesson sequences, using
the topic for discussion and use a range
of activities to bring the text to life.

Teaching reading

  • 1. Hi there, are you ok? I’m Teaching Reading teaching reading; and there are many reasons why wetting students to read English texts is an important part of the teacher’s job. I’m OK, I agree, many students want to be able t o read text in English for study purposes or simply for pleasure.
  • 2. Reading is useful for language acquisition, I think so. Reading also has a positive effect on students’ vocabulary knowledge, on their spelling and their writing.
  • 3. Good Reading texts can introduce interesting topics, stimulate discussion, excite imaginative responses and provide fascinating lessons. We can encourage students to focus on vocabulary, grammar or punctuation.
  • 4. We need to encourage students to read as often and as much as possible; it is a good idea to discuss this principle whit students. Our students need to be engaged whit what they are Reading; that is, we should try to help them get as much pleasure from it as possible.
  • 5. My angle is: prediction is a major factor in Reading such as: photographs and headlines hint at what articles are about; we can identify reports from their appearance before we read a single word. We need to integrate the Reading tex tinto interesting lesson sequences, using the topic for discussion and use a range of activities to bring the text to life.
  • 6.
