There are four broad types of teaching methods: teacher-centered methods which position the teacher as the subject matter expert; student-centered methods where the teacher acts as a resource rather than authority; content-focused methods where both teacher and students fit the content; and interactive methods which are situationally appropriate. Teacher-centered methods include lecture methods while student-centered methods involve discussion, inquiry, and LTD techniques. Content and interactive methods were not fully explained.
