Preposition: 
A preposition is a word which shows the relation of a noun or a pronoun to some other word in a 
sentence.

The learners develop the usage of preposition.

The learners are familiar with noun and pronoun. 
The learner themselves have used them at times.

PHASE I- Presentation of advance organizer.
Teacher presents a chart to provide an orientation to the concept that is about to be introduced in 
the class. The chart has the definition of preposition with examples. 
PASE II- Presentation of learning tasks. 
Task I 
The teacher presents a chart with some sentences with blanks. The choice is provided in brackets. 
Teacher asks the learner to choose the right one. 
Task II 
Teacher presents another chart showing the difference between preposition ‘on’ and ‘under’ with 
the help of examples. 
Task III 
Teacher presents a chart with some simple sentences and asks learners to identify the correct 
prepositions to be used. 
PASE II- Understanding the cognitive structure. 
The teacher initiates a discussion regarding the summary of activities and tasks. The learners 
recollected the definition of preposition. 
The teacher asks the learners to tell some of the prepositions and the learners could recollect a 
few. 
ASSIGNMENT. 
Write at least 10 sentences using different prepositions from our day to day life.
