The Ten Commandments are a list of ten moral rules given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai. They provide guidelines for living a good and moral life. The Commandments forbid idolatry, taking God's name in vain, dishonoring parents, murder, adultery, theft, lying, and coveting others' possessions. Obeying the Commandments requires worshipping God alone, keeping the Sabbath, honoring authorities, protecting life, living chastely, being honest and just in all dealings, and finding fulfillment in God rather than material things.
