CHARISMATIC MEN and WOMAN who were
acclaimed for their wisdom and leadership.
They unified the people, got them to repent, dealt
with the spiritual problems of the nation, and also
dealt with the physical threat.

1. OTHNIEL- Helped Israel defeat
King Cushan- Rishathaim of Northern
Syria and brought Israel forty years of
peace.

2. EHUD- killed King Eglon of Moab
and defeated the Moabites, who had
joined with the Amalekites to attack
Israel.

by killing 600 Philistines.

4. DEBORAH- Defeated the army of
Canaanite King Jabin of Hazor and his
commander Sisera

5. GIDEON- built an altar for worshipping the
Lord and pulled down the altar where his father had
worshipped the Canaanite god, Baal. Defeated the
Midianites who had joined with the Amalekites to
steal Israel’s livestock and crops. Honored the Lord
by refusing to be made King.

Israel, but gives very little information
about this Judge

Judges’ accomplishments. But it does
say he had 30 sons, each one in charge
of a town in Gilead.

8. JEPHTHAH- defeated the
Ammonites who had invaded Gilead.
Battled the army of the Israelite tribe
of Ephraim.

about this Judge’s accomplishments,
but it does say he had 30 daughters and
30 sons

11. ABDON- the Bible says little about
this Judge’s accomplishments, but it
does say he had 40 sons and 30
grandsons

12. SAMSON- took revenge on the
Philistine leaders and people who
burned his wife and family

EXPERIENCES OF THE JUDGES
No one is exempted from serving God.
Serve God even if one feels insignificant.
Serve God with the blessings you have.
Serve God with courage and desire.
Even ordinary men or women can be heroes or
heroines.
