2. The first thing I learnt to do on Photoshop
was edit my pictures to make them look
better, with brightness, contrast, hue and
saturation. On my magazine, I edited the
picture by making the image brighter and
lowering the contrast to make the features
more prominent. I altered with the “black
and white” feature to make other colours
stand out more, for example the reds and
the blues in the image.

3. For the masthead of my magazine and the title on the
contents page, I chose two different fonts from
dafont.com. Before I chose the actual texts I used, I
played around on the website by typing in the words
and scrolling through all the different options they
gave for fonts. I had to print screen the image, and
paste it onto my image on Photoshop. Then, I cropped
the image and highlighted all the areas which were still
white so the gaps in the letters were transparent and
you could see the background of the image through
them.

4. The magnetic lasso tool allowed me to cut the backgrounds
from my images so I could place them onto other
backgrounds. I only used this tool on my contents page as
the page is blank. To do this, the cursor has to be dragged
around the main image and once it has around 5 points, it
automatically cuts the shape of the image you are lassoing.
However, as the image below shows, it does take a bit of
precision or else you cut parts of your image out.

5. When I was exporting my magazine
into InDesign, I had to use the
Rectangular Frame Tool so that the
image could be placed in there.

6. To export the image, you had to click file >
place and insert the image into the square
box.
My finished product is now
imported into InDesign.
