Photoshop
Before this school year I had never used Photoshop before. It did take me a while to understand
how to use to use it but once I had learnt about some of the features I then used it frequently to
edit photos for my media product allowing me to have creative control. Here are some of the
features I used frequently in Photoshop:

The clone stamp tool
This tool allowed me to get rid of blemishes and
smooth out the background area of the photos. I
used this tool a lot while creating my magazine and
as I used it more and more I was confident on how
to use it and it enabled me to make my photos
look more professional.

                                                        Contrast and Brightness Adjustment
These adjustments allowed me to directly edit
the photos brightness and contrast. This meant
that I could draw more attention to the models
making their features stand out more and
make pictures look less dull by making them
                                                      brighter. Both adjustments were extremely
useful and allowed me to sharpen the photos.
The magic wand tool
This tool allowed me to select certain areas of the
photo and edit then. This helped me when
selecting parts of the photo as it allowed me to use
my time more efficiently. I used it especially on the
photo for the double page spread hen I wanted to
change the colour of the background, as the magic
wand tool allowed me to select the background
and change the colour.

Other features in Photoshop that I occasionally used were: The lasso tool, the gradient
tool, the levels adjustment, the selection tool and many more.
InDesign
After editing my photos in Photoshop, I used InDesign to create the actual pages of my music
magazine. Again, I had never used this program before and it was quite complicated and
confusing to start with but I soon got the hang of it. In this program I used lots of different
features to be able to have full control over the page layout and image of my magazine. Here are
some of the tools which I frequently used in InDesign.

The place tool
The use of this tool was essential throughout the
process of creating the pages of my magazine.
This tool allowed me to insert my photos into an
inDesign document. It was beneficial as it
allowed me to place the photos where ever I
liked and then change the size so I had control
over the layout and positioning of the page.

                                                                                        Text tool
This is an essential tool as all magazines include text.
The text tool allowed me to explore lots of different
types of fonts and put them onto my pages. By being
able to select the font I wanted to use, I had control
and was able to make my page look more
professional and make certain pieces of text stand
                                                                             out more than others.
Effects
There are many different effects within
inDesign that I learnt how to use during the
process. The one I used the most was the drop
shadow effect. This was very beneficial within
my work in some places was given a 3D effect.
All of these parts of my work look more
interesting and I used this effect in various
places throughout my magazine to be able to
make my work more interesting.
                                                                               Group Tool
This tool allowed me to control my work a lot
better. It meant I could group certain objects
together ensuring I had the correct positioning
that I wanted. It was very helpful for my
contents age as I was able to organize my work
well and not get the features mixed up as I
                                                           grouped each section together.

Other features I used are: Clipping path, export, gradient swatch and many more.
Blogger
At first it was hard to understand how to work blogger, but after completing the preliminary task
and as I used it more and more I began to understand it more. I was able to easily post and
create labels for each post, although I did find it difficult to get the layout sorted. I chose a
relatable image for the background and also fonts that I used throughout to keep it consistent
and successful. Here is a print screen of my blog:
