My target audience
Judging by the fact that the most popular age
range for horror movies is approximately 18-
24, I must target my film trailer for that specific
audience.
Despite the statistics also showing that women
are far more likely to watch horror movies than
men, I still want to appeal to a primarily male
audience as oppose to a female audience so
therefore I won’t give my film trailer a “Buffy the
Vampire Slayer” or “Jennifer’s Body” feel to it
and so there will be more of a
masculine, aggressive feel to it to incorporate
an element of intimidation and threat.
Who are my audience?
Sky Sports, Sky Sports
News, Channel 4 and Dave rate
amongst the preferred
channels, revealing their
propensity for
sports, (Football, Formula 1)
comedy, (8 Out of 10 Cats,The
Big Bang Theory) as well as late
night viewing for BBC Three for
shows like Family Guy etc.
For teenage boys as well as men, there is this
element of competitiveness in terms of fashioning
top-end brands and so, as a teenager myself, I find
that boys my age (and older) tend to shop at places
like Ralph Lauren, Hollister, Nike, Topman, Calvin
Klein, Vans, Superdry, rather than opting for cheaper
places like Primark or Tesco F&F (as this would ruin
an image of class and style)
New research published by the NUS, reveals that lad
culture was thought to be particularly influential in the
social side of university life; drinking, banter with
mates, smoking, typical laddish behaviour for a night
out.
