                                    Camera Analysis

We have used the Sony HDR-CX115 camcorder for all of our footage filming in
our music video. We found the camera to be pretty good for the overall filming
of the project. Although the camera is small, it performs well and gives good
quality images. The camera is simple to use with all of the buttons clearly
marked. We found the camera particularly useful as we could view and/or delete
any unwanted footage easily. When combined with the dolly (unless on a flat
surface) the images can be unclear. The camera, when not on a tripod, can prove
to be tricky to keep steady as it is small. Overall, when combined with a tripod
the images can be very distinguished and clear. When not used with a tripod a
    steady hand is necessary.

Tripod
                         Tripod Analysis
  • We have used the tripod in many aspects of our music piece.
Our group found it to be a crucial piece of equipment
throughout the filming process. This is because the camera
was too unsteady without it. It was relatively light and easy to
transport as it collapses quite small. We found tilting and
moving the camera to be very fluid which helped with the
overall professionalism of the video. We also found the spirit
level to be useful as we could easily see if the shot is steady
    enough.

                   Dolly Analysis

• Our group didn’t use the dolly at all for the
construction of our music video. The main reason we
didn’t use it was because it made the image too
unsteady. We found the dolly only worked on a very
smooth ground to look professional which we didn’t
have as most of our shots took place outside.
Blogger Analysis

  • We used Blogger throughout the whole of the
    construction, research, planning and
evaluation stages of the project. We have used
the blog to update the stages of the product
as we went through them. We basically used it
as a hub for all of the resources and research.
Blogger allows other groups to peer review
our work and give us constructive feedback.
YouTube Analysis

   • Our group used YouTube regularly in our
media project. We used it especially to
identify the conventions of other R&B music
videos. We also used YouTube to gather
inspiration for our own video during the
planning process. We have uploaded the
rough cut and final piece on to the site for
     others to see.
