NME Target Audience
• After finding the NME media pack, I have
taken screenshots of the key pieces of
information:
Research I have undertaken
• After taking some research and handing out surveys, I have
come to a similar target audience to NME. Most of my
readers will be male with an average age of between 18
and 24.
• All of these people are obviously interested in music with a
large majority reading about music online. I plan to compile
the information available online and make it into magazine
format primarily.
• NME also has a strong social media base, this is a strong
tool to promote your product and musical products.
• NME is also quoted as being a trustable music source, I
hope to achieve a similar goal in my magazine as my
research has told me that being a trusted opinion is crucial.
How have I appealed to my target
audience?
• On my front cover I have featured a female. This
female will appeal to both males and females as males
will find her attractive and females will envy and want
to be her. This will increase magazine sales.
• Most of the artists and bands featured in this will
appeal to my target audience. Research has also told
me that a lot of people around that age are also
interested in older music, for example the smiths so I
will feature indie music of all ages in my magazine, so
as to appeal to the target audience and possibly older
viewers.
