The study investigates the effects of aeration on seafood processing wastewater, focusing on the reduction of key constituents including ammonia, total kjeldahl nitrogen, biological oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), and salts. Results indicate that increasing aeration flow rates enhance the removal efficiency, with optimal results observed at 6.4 L/min achieving removal rates of 91.2% for BOD and 90.6% for kjeldahl nitrogen, while aeration had no significant effect on salts and lipids. The findings highlight the importance of aeration for improving wastewater quality in the fish industry.
