System approach was developed during World War 2 and has since influenced management decisions across various sectors. It involves thoroughly analyzing a system or subsystem. There are three key parts of system analysis: system thinking, analyzing the system, and defining the system itself as having goals, processes, and interconnected sub-parts. The steps of system approach are to define needs, set objectives, describe limitations, consider alternatives, select an appropriate alternative, implement it, evaluate, and refine. Applying system approach to education can help solve complex administrative problems, advance educational programs, provide holistic study of educational issues, and facilitate objective improvements to the educational system.
