This document discusses several online tools that could be used for synchronous learning including Voki, Second Life, Wimba, Google tools, Skype, Adobe Connect, and Moodle. Voki allows users to create speaking avatars. Second Life allows users to create virtual 3D worlds. Wimba integrates with learning management systems and allows for collaboration. Google tools like Docs, Pages, and Maps can be useful but are blocked. Skype allows video conferencing. Adobe Connect is a software for webinars and conferencing. Moodle is free course management software that the author successfully used in a class.
