2. Characteristics of a a syllabus
• Traditionally there is a list specifying all the
contents to be taught in the class. It is therefore
comprehensive.
. The syllabus is a public / official document
subject to scrutinity by school
authorities, teacher trainers, MCE, and of use
for students and parents.
• It should include time schedule, methodology, forms of
assessment, recommended bibliography.
3. Components of syllabus:
• CONTENT ITEMS:words, structures, topics.They
are ordered according to their complexity:
seelction of materials and their order.
• PROCESS ITEMS: tasks and methods.
• The SYLLABUS must have explicit
objectives.
