Introduction
Organizational Learning is continuous process of transferring knowledge within an organization. It
requires the organization to effectively detect inefficiencies and to respond by correcting any
issues. Organizational Learning is not defined by training classes, it is multi faceted way of
operating. This paper will outline how the merging of Sundown and Master Corporation can be
integrated to the new organizational culture of the merger.
The merger of Sundown and Master requires that the two organizations become a cohesive and
efficient organization. Applying basic principles of organizational learning should help assist in
fostering an environment of continuous systems thinking. We will examine how the two
organizations can apply the principles of organizational learning to help create sustained success.
Topic / Issue Identification The Sundown organization is the manufacturer of gimbals, which are
high quality camera mounts. The Master organization is an international electronics corporation.
Master has recently acquired Sundown. Along with Sundown, Master also owns a separate gimbal
manufacturing plant about 20 miles from the Sundown manufacturing plant. That plant is currently
not meeting their financial goals. Therefore, Master wants to merge the two organizations. The
Master organization and the Sundown organization have large variance in organizational culture.

How Did Nicholas Sarkozy Ban The Construction Of More...
Amidst the furore instigated by the Swiss minaret referendum in 2009 (Migration Policy Institute,
2009), former French president Nicolas Sarkozy voiced his sympathy and his understanding for
the collective decision to ban the construction of more minarets within Switzerland through an
article titled Respecter ceux qui arrivent, respecter ceux qui accueillent (Sarkozy, 2009b).
Sarkozy s article first appeared in the December 8th publication of Le Monde a French daily
newspaper in 2009, and was subsequently edited and translated by The Guardian, an English news
agency based in the United Kingdom (Sarkozy, 2009a). It is of importance to note that this
discourse is based on the translated (English) version of Sarkozy s article. Given the nature of
translations, expressions and connotations from the original commentary may be altered and hence,
discrepancies may arise.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although his argument may seem compelling upon first glance, due to Sarkozy s vast omission of
crucial information, it is evident that his claims are incomplete, erroneous, and moreover, a
perversion of what he purports. This paper attempts to present a thorough exposition of Sarkozy s
argument, confront his baseless conclusions by considering and highlighting four factors: the
background and cause of the Swiss minaret vote, the opposition and their perspective, the image and
lives of Muslims in Switzerland and France, and the development of populism; additionally, to

A Day to Remember
I can still remember it like it was yesterday. It all started at about 2 p.m. It was the time I went back
from school on foot. I was so tried and all I wanted was to just relax and eat. When I arrived at the
front gate, I was shocked. The gate and the door were opened. It was because at that time there was
nobody in my house as all my familymembers were not at home I was frightened and did not
know what I should do. Should I go inside or call the police? I was hesitant because my family
went out for work and they would normally tell me if they took afternoon off. However, I decided
to see what was happening. I picked up a hard stick so that if something happened, I could protect
myself. Then, I walked slowly to my house. I took a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Kurt Cobain s Life
Drugs have taken and changed the lives of many, even people who seem invincible, our idols.
Many famous musicians and actors have lost their lives due to drugs or alcohol. Three examples
would be Kurt Cobain, Scott Weiland, and Layne Staley, three of the most famous musicians of
their time. Each of their lives were taken by drugs, and some recently. They were all born in the
same year of 1967, but all died at different times. Kurt Cobain, singer and guitarist of Nirvana, was
27 when his heroin addiction caused him to take his own life. Throughout his teenage years, he
experimented with prescription drugs and marijuana. He began using a drug known as Hash in
1984, which was popular in his hometown of Aberdeen, Washington. In the summer of 1986, just

His death is still shrouded in mystery, whether it was a real suicide, or a murder covered up to
look like to a suicide. Either way, his death silenced the people of his generation. He was an
inspiration to millions of people across the world, and his death came as a shock. Scott Weiland,
former singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, struggled with substance abuse
throughout his whole life. When he was young, he showed an interest in singing. In high school
he formed his first band Mighty Joe Young, which eventually became Stone Temple Pilots. They
were one of the biggest bands of the 90 s. Scott first got into his drug habits in high school, and
was sent to rehab when his parents found drugs in his room. In 1995, after his band s second
album release, he was arrested for drug possession. This brush with the law did little to quell
Weiland s appetite for drugs (Scott Weiland Biography). At one point, he lived in a Los Angeles
hotel, shooting up heroin with Kurt Cobain s wife, Courtney Love. Weiland s personal addictions
impacted his band s ability to tour in 1996, so he subsequently parted ways with the band for a time.

process of how the Entertainment and Sports Programing Network got where it is today. I truly
adored this book even though it felt like I was reading a long list of order of events, the
information was informative and interesting as Vogan pulled me in with his strong and obvious
theme of Power. Throughout the whole book he just keeps explaining how ESPN wanted more

Mohandas Mahatma Gandhi
Mohandas Mahatma Gandhi
(1809 1849)
Biography
Mohandas K. Gandhi was born in 1869, in Porbandar, India. His mother was illiterate, but her
common sense and religious devotion had a lasting impact on Gandhi s character. As a youngster,
Mohandas was a good student, but he never displayed any signs of leadership. On the death of his
father, Mohandas travelled to England to gain a degree in law. He became involved with the
Vegetarian Society and was once asked to translate the Hindu Bhagavad Gita. This classic of Hindu
literature awakened in Gandhi a sense of pride in the Indian scriptures.
Around this time, he also studied the Bible and was struck by the teachings of Jesus Christ
especially the emphasis on humility and forgiveness. He remained committed to the Bible and
Bhagavad Gita throughout his life, though he was critical of aspects of both religions.
Gandhi in South Africa
On completing his degree in Law, Gandhi returned to India, where he was soon sent to South Africa
to practise law. In South Africa, Gandhi was struck by the level of racial discrimination and
injustice often experienced by Indians. It was in South Africa that Gandhi first experimented with
campaigns of civil disobedience and protest; he called his non violent protests satyagraha. Despite
being imprisoned for short periods of time, he also supported the British under certain conditions.
He was decorated by the British for his efforts during the Boer war and Zulu rebellion.

Free College Should Not Be Free
When a child turns 5, they are required to start going to school until they turn 18, which is when
they graduate high school. From the point of graduating high school, there is a pressure on
students to go to college and get a degree. This is relevant today because most graduates from high
school go to straight collegeto get the career they strive for. Colleges should be free because it
causes more focus on education, most careers require a college degree and provide new
opportunities for children.
College should not be free all because taxes would go through the roof and would create a
vicious cycle of fighting for careers between people. With making college free for everyone, ...
taxes will go up and all property owners whether they have college age children or not will, in
fact, pay for the free college (Norton). There s no way America could survive with taxes going
higher. With taxes going up, once you get out of college and find a job you start paying free
college taxes even though you already finished college. Other problem with college being free,
there will be people getting the same degree as each other, which would lead to them to fighting
for the same career. This can lead to many people being out of a career and create an outspread of
people going back to college to study a different major to start a different career path, but this
creates a cycle. But with that being said free college provides great opportunities for children to get
the education they

Essay about Scientific Method and Participant Observation
In the article, Researching Dealers and Smugglers, Patricia Adler discusses her and her husband s
experience using participant observation to collect data from drug dealers and the problems this
qualitative method brought. A qualitative method focuses on collecting rich, non statistical data.
This method involves face to face interviews and actual participation with the group being
researched. The Adlers use this method because it is almost impossible to gather accurate
information on people who smuggle drugs. This is true because they are such private and deceitful
people. The only way to get the real facts is if the smugglers trust the person. Unfortunately,

Cocaine also helped the dealers open up easily. During the interviews, some dealers experienced
withdrawal symptoms. It caused them to become malicious with each other or towards the Alders
without any warning. The way the Alders solved this problem was by taking precautions when
interacting with the dealers. The cocaine use was not a problem for the Adlers, but they most
likely dealt with the marijuana issue quite easily since Patricia does not specifically explain how it
was solved. In addition, there was another problem the Adlers encountered. The Adlers also found
that mixing the overt and covert roles with the members of the group throughout the investigation
was another issue. Since the Adlers had different level relationships with every individual, some of
the dealers were aware that they were a part of a research project while others were not aware. This
sometimes confused the Adlers. Patricia states, They [the informants] would made occasional
veiled references in front of people, especially when loosened by intoxicants, that made us
extremely uncomfortable. This issue made the couple uncomfortable because they did not want to
blow their cover. Patricia and Peter Adler also feared that the participants would think they are

Social Media For Veterans Essay
The first action to be taken to advocate for the hiring of veterans and the establishment of
collaborative programs for the veteran community will be through the use of different social
media tools. To raise awareness on the issues, the use of Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook is
best suited for this objective. Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn are the most widely used forms
of social media today, with Facebook still in the lead for the most used social media platform in
the world (Hutt, 2017). These different media platforms would raise awareness of the issue of
veteranunemployment and veteran homelessness since the majority of the public is not aware of
the issues veterans face. Collaborative programs within the community are needed to relieve the
issue of veteran homelessness and social media would reach the community to implement this
collaboration. A positive aspect of collaborative programs for veterans is that with fully developed
collaborative programs in which the community, local, state, and federal level are involved the
identification and accountability for all veterans experiencing homelessness is reached. This

On the other hand, many Southerners like historian Ulrich Bonner Phillips, viewed slavery as a

According to Hugh Tulloch, the Southerners had evolved a unique form of social relations based on

happier than their masters that appears so distorted in comparison to the Northern interpretation on

North, thus widening the sectional rift between the North and South. If slavery is not wrong,

Essay about Serial Killers Modus Operandi
Serial Killers Modus Operandi A plethora of serial killers, dead and undead, have been most
horrifying in their methods. There are several types of serial killers, some have been caught while
others continue to haunt their surroundings. There are several approaches in categorizing serial
killers. One method requires examination of the crime scene, the other requires counseling with the
serial killer. In profiling a serial killer, law enforcers realize that serial killers are not unlike
regular people; there are several exceptions like schizophrenics but most of them look like
everyone else. Serial killers, often, do not just kill, they might also eat their victims, torture, or rape
them, and then they finish them off. A serial killer is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jeff Lindsay describes this voice as the dark passenger in his famous Dexter series of novels; a
voice that cannot be ignored. David Berkowitz, also known as Son of Sam, claims that a demon

more specifically, a visionary. Process focused is composed of hedonists, who kill for pleasures
lust, thrill, and gain and power seeking killers who wish to control, with a predilection to
manipulate mortality. As special as serial killers are, they often fall into more than one category,
Berkowitz for example was also a thrill killer who enjoyed the excitement of the kill. Berkowitz
is distinguished as a hedonistic and a visionary serial killer. An example for a power seeking
serial killer would be Ted Bundy who sought to control women by raping them, although rape is
characterized as a lustful act, it is also seen as a way as controlling by coercing, thus power
seeking. Both types include a rife amount of serial killers. There are many types of serial killers,
but they often share similar traits in their personality and character. Traits found in serial killers

to maintain angelic hygiene and practices diligent homemaking, whereas a disorganized serial

Tenth Circuit Case Analysis
Federal courts generally reference what the Kansas courts describe as a cognizable legal
prejudice as the loss of a substantial right due to the dismissal. Pontenberg v. Boston Scientific
Corp., 252 F.3d 1253, 1255 (11th Cir. 2001). The Tenth Circuit has recognized four main factors
when determining whether a legal prejudice exists: the opposing party s effort and expense in
preparing for trial; excessive delay and lack of diligence on the part of the movant; insufficient
explanation of the need for a dismissal; and the present stage of litigation. Brown v. Baeke, 413
F.3d 1121, 1124 (10th Cir. 2005). Defendants Response claims the Defendants will be
substantially prejudiced by an or der of dismissal, but do not provide any identification of what
that prejudice would be or how the prejudice would rise to the level of the loss of any substantial
right. Since the Defendants have not identified any legal prejudice, or met their burden of showing
any plain legal prejudice resulting from the requested dismissal, the Court is without grounds to

The Definition Of Global Citizenship
Global Citizenship
In viewing the video Globalization: What Is Happening to us (2010). It is obvious why global
citizenship should be a must for all people. Modern technology has allowed us to communicate
and stay in touch with people all over the world including those dear to us like friends and family.
Advanced technology is a norm in today society whether you like it or not. All information now of
days is passed through advanced technology. It allows us to keep up with people and their culture
and norms. In social service field, it is crucial that I understand and able to communicate with my
clients. On the internet, I can research cultures and their norms. It is vital to learn differently about
other culture to better serve and communicate with them. It can be persuasively argued that
effective care is impossible without a working knowledge and understanding of a person s or
groups cultures ns background (NASW, n.d.).
Disagreement between Theorist
There is variations definition of global citizenship; the words are interchangeable with each other.
A theorist can each have their own high opinion regarding global citizenship. My definition of
global citizenship is that we are responsible to this world. People are responsible for human, human
rights, cultural and diversity. People are responsible for connecting the world, cultures, and people
with each other. Responsible for advocating for the world and its problem of others.

Wheelock and Wilson (2002) used a rating methodology called CAMEL, shorten from several

Over the period of 1996 2005, accounting data based researches showed that the universal banks
can only increase the volatility of accounting profits by diversifying non interest income and have
no effect on raising their average profits. For American banks, there may be some benefits by
introducing new business differing from traditional interest income based derivatives, the profits
are offset by the increasing exposure to the systemic risk that institutions may suffer. The similar
result raised in Stiroh s (2006) research in American equity market during 1996 2005. He concluded
that, on the one hand, there is no apparent link between non interest income exposure and average
profits. On the other hand, the diversification of non interest income has a strong and positive
correlation with the volatility of equity return.
Banks in European shared the similar phenomenon in which banks with non interest business
present a lower level of risk management capability than those who mainly focused on traditional
interest income activities. Recent findings state that compare to trading activities, bank s
conglomerate risk is mainly positively correlated with the scale of non interest income (Lepetit

market based measures of the risk trade off and the effect of income diversification. They concluded
that in the long run, universal banks with a higher proportion of non interest

Water Scarcity A Growing Threat Of Humanity
Water Scarcity a Growing Threat to Humanity The world s population is growing. The need for
water is rising with the birth of every child. Sooner than most people would want to admit, the
water resources available in the world would be inadequate to cater for the needs of humanity.
As developing countries seek to become industrialized, more water will be needed for their
industries. The developed world is also not slowing down its water usage in its industries. Given
the important part it plays in growth, the world is well in its path to facing its worse season yet:
living without water. When one goes to a country where water problems are real, they find
businesses have made water a prominent factor in determining whether or not to set up and run
their businesses there. No one can afford to bury their head in the sand anymore. The water
problem that is not far away in the future must be addressed now. Water resources by 2050 The
society cannot afford to ignore the fact that water resources are limited. According to IFPRI

The Correlation Between Influencing Organization Culture...
The correlation between influencing organization culture and leaderships go hand and hand.
Organizational culture refers to the beliefs and values that exist in an organization and to the
beliefs of the staff and the foreseen value of their work that will influence their work ethic. Schein
(1992, 2004) defines the culture of a group or organization as shared assumptions and beliefs about
the world and their place in it, the nature of time and space, human nature, and human relationships.
(pg. 326) On the other hand, leadershipprovides the vision and helps the organization move in the
direction to accomplish the best or the organization and the employees. It is important to understand
the relationship between organizational culture and leadership and how they influence each other.
Yukl states that by changing the culture of an organization, top management can indirectly
influence the motivation and behavior of organization members. Research on organizational culture
provides further insight into the dynamics of transformational leadership and the processes by
which a leader s charisma may become institutionalized. (pg. 326) In the article, it talks about four
ways to influence organizational culture Programs, Systems, Structures, and Cultural Forms.
Design of management systems and programs
Criteria for rewards and personnel decisions
Design of structure and facilities
Symbols, ritual, ceremonies, and stories.

Essay On German And Irish Immigration
In the early 1800s the German and Irish were suffering from unemployment, famine, civil unrest

1825 To 1850 Dbq Analysis
The democratic values of the united states can be described most commonly as Life, Liberty, and

Human Rights Violations of China s One Child Policy Essay
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to highlight to what extent government policy has violated the
human rights of women in China. Government policy is important to the organization of countries.
Government policies work to aid in political, economic, and social issues that can become
detrimental to the function of a country. Flourishing government policies prove to be efficient and
effective when implementation is deemed successful. The One Child Policy proved to be
successful in reducing population size. As past policy rules have now been eased, family planning
officials in the region have begun drafting less strict family planning protocols. Though it has

In the years following, population in the country began to increase yet again at rapid rates . This
increase came to be the forecaster for the need of antinatalist policy.
In the last few years that China s population experienced huge increases and decreases in
population size, Chinese governments provided family planning assistance for women and
children . Not until the population increased during the early 1960 s did government officials
begin to view the threat such a massive population would have on the future of the country. In
1979 China began to implement a family planning policy in response to social and economic
troubles that plagued the country due to the rapid population growth as death rates decreased and
birth rates continued to soar. The primary objective of this policy was to decrease procreation in
the region by encouraging individuals to prolong engagements, limiting reproduction, and the
promotion of an idealistic one child family. Government officials enforced policy regulations by
imposing taxes on those who challenged the new policy and financial incentives for those who
obeyed. Since its implementation, the One Child Policy has dominated fertility rates as well as
alleviating the increase in global population. China s policy proved to be an idealistic approach at

Global product sourcing can help in lowering the cost of purchasing the required material from
other countries where it is available on low price. Mass customization can also be considered to
meet the demand of periodic orders in compliance with constraints of supply chain. The supply
chain process can concentrate on inventory management process in the system to fulfill the order
requested (Chase, Jacobs and Aquilano, 2006,). Riordan focuses on management of inventory from
raw material to produce fans. It is necessary to track the quality and need of inventory for
optimizing the performance of supply chain process. These measurements are necessary for
assessing the exact requirement of material based on revised production forecast sales with key
inputs from the conceptual application of supply chain management (Chase, Jacobs and Aquilano,

Person Centred Counselling
Person Centred Counselling
Person centred counselling is a form of therapy which allows the client to be at the core of their
own therapy and make their own goals. For the person centred approach to be effective a
relationship built on trust must be formed between the counsellor and the individual. This essay
will explore the theoretical ideas and practice skills of person centred counselling.
Key figure (Founder) and Major Focus
Carl Rogers (1902 1987), an American psychologist was the key figure in developing person
centred counselling. Rogers was born into a strict religious family and he was the fourth born of
six children. Although Rogers (1961) recalls his childhood at times to be particularly lonely he

Applying these three characteristics to counselling will enable the individual to move away from
conditions of worth that have been placed upon them and help them become fully functioning
people with optimal emotional health (Seligman, 2006).
Therapeutic goals
The main aim of person centred counselling is for the client to achieve greater independence and
integration (Corey, 2013:179). Therefore, the focal point should always be on the client not on
the person s existing problem, as this approach allows the individual to manage their own lives
and make every effort towards self actualisation (Corey, 2013: 179). Rogers believed that taking
away the facades that people have put up around them due to socialisation will lead to
actualisation. An example of a facade that a person may have put up could be that the individual
believes that they are not worthy of love because of what they have been told all of their lives, in
turn they may actually act in ways that make it difficult for people to love them, but as they
actualise they will see positive characteristics in themselves and show themselves in a more positive
light. Four characteristics were observed by Rogers (1961) that show clients becoming actualised,
they are trusting in themselves, an internal source of evaluation, openness to new experiences and
willingness for continued growth. Person centred counselling should maintain the goal of
empowering the client to change their own life and in doing so promote

Job Enrichment And An Organization
Job enrichment can be defined as the process by which jobs are redesigned for workers so that
they can be in control of their duties and also perform more tasks to develop personal skills. An
important aspect of job enrichment is job redesign and it deals with the modification of the tasks
assigned to workers in an organization. The case study that will be analyzed for Job enrichment
theory in this paper is the expanded HIM functions.
In order to fully employ Job enrichment in an organization, the motivational goals must be put in
place. Goal setting is a medium in which managers can help to motivate workers to be more
efficient while performing their tasks. While redesigning jobs for HIS department workers, the
SMART goal setting principles was applied. The Smart goal is the acronym for specific,
measurable, achievable, realistic, and timely. All these characteristics are evident in the goals, cut
out by the management of the HIS department in the bid of motivating the workers and increasing
productivity. HIS set its goals in four levels, the engineering goals, restructuring goals, work
redesign goals and job redesign goals. The engineering goals were set to analyze the visions,
regulations and organizational structure. The restructuring goals will reevaluate the organizational
structure. Work redesign goals also reevaluate the tasks assigned to the workers and the job

Over the period of 1996 2005, accounting data based researches showed that the universal banks can only increase the volatility of accounting profits by diversifying non interest income and have no effect on raising their average profits. For American banks, there may be some benefits by introducing new business differing from traditional interest income based derivatives, the profits are offset by the increasing exposure to the systemic risk that institutions may suffer. The similar result raised in Stiroh s (2006) research in American equity market during 1996 2005. He concluded that, on the one hand, there is no apparent link between non interest income exposure and average profits. On the other hand, the diversification of non interest income has a strong and positive correlation with the volatility of equity return. Banks in European shared the similar phenomenon in which banks with non interest business present a lower level of risk management capability than those who mainly focused on traditional interest income activities. Recent findings state that compare to trading activities, bank s conglomerate risk is mainly positively correlated with the scale of non interest income (Lepetit 2008). Those studies dig deeply into European equity market to reach the relationship between market based measures of the risk trade off and the effect of income diversification. They concluded that in the long run, universal banks with a higher proportion of non interest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1979 China began to implement a family planning policy in response to social and economic troubles that plagued the country due to the rapid population growth as death rates decreased and birth rates continued to soar. The primary objective of this policy was to decrease procreation in the region by encouraging individuals to prolong engagements, limiting reproduction, and the promotion of an idealistic one child family. For the person centred approach to be effective a relationship built on trust must be formed between the counsellor and the individual. This essay will explore the theoretical ideas and practice skills of person centred counselling. Key figure (Founder) and Major Focus Carl Rogers (1902 1987), an American psychologist was the key figure in developing person centred counselling. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Applying these three characteristics to counselling will enable the individual to move away from conditions of worth that have been placed upon them and help them become fully functioning people with optimal emotional health (Seligman, 2006). Therapeutic goals The main aim of person centred counselling is for the client to achieve greater independence and integration (Corey, 2013:179). Therefore, the focal point should always be on the client not on the person s existing problem, as this approach allows the individual to manage their own lives and make every effort towards self actualisation (Corey, 2013: 179). Rogers believed that taking away the facades that people have put up around them due to socialisation will lead to actualisation. An example of a facade that a person may have put up could be that the individual believes that they are not worthy of love because of what they have been told all of their lives, in turn they may actually act in ways that make it difficult for people to love them, but as they actualise they will see positive characteristics in themselves and show themselves in a more positive light. Four characteristics were observed by Rogers (1961) that show clients becoming actualised, they are trusting in themselves, an internal source of evaluation, openness to new experiences and willingness for continued growth. Person centred counselling should maintain the goal of empowering the client to change their own life and in doing so promote ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
