Indian Power Sector - Industry AnalysisArjun Yadav
The power sector in India has entered into the growth stage since 2003. With a production of 1,006 TWh, India is the fifth largest producer and consumer of electricity in the world after Russia. The sector is also witnessing robust growth in renewable sources of energy with wind and solar energy estimated to contribute 15GW and 10GW respectively, during the next five year plan. The government passed the National Tariff Policy in 2006 that ensured adequate ROI to companies engaged in power generation, transmission and distribution and assured the consumers affordable rates.

The 878 kilometres long HVDC transmission line from Matiari to Lahore is the first of its kind in Pakistan.
This HVDC transmission line project is being developed under the framework of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) agreement with the main investor being China Electric Power Equipment & Technology (CET).
This transmission line will have 4,000 MW capacity at 660 kV voltage. The project is designed to have bi-pole HVDC technology, three repeater stations, two grounding electrode stations and two converter stations, one at the each end of the line - Matiari (Interior Sindh) and Lahore.
we include deeply information of all projects that are signed in 2013 to 2015 we take accurate information by searching one by one project and in every slide china is doing great work we say great thanks to china because they invested about 46 billion dollar in pakistan

A personal brand exploration presentation summarizes an individual's unique qualities and goals, covering strengths, values, passions, and target audience. It helps individuals understand what makes them stand out, their desired image, and how they aim to achieve it.
Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Pakistan is currently facing a severe shortage of natural gas, both for its electricity
generating plants and for general use by all sectors. Domestic gas production of around
4,000 MMSCFD is unable to meet the country’s demand; the supply-demand gap is
approximately 2,000 MMSCFD and keeps on rising.
Main reasons for this widening gap between Supply and demand of Natural Gas:
Depletion of Existing Gas Sources
No major new discovery of Natural Gas
Increase of Demand in Domestic an Industrial Sectors
Increase in Electricity Generation From Natural Gas
BRIEF OVERVIEW OF PAKISTAN:
12. 12
In order to mitigate the widening gap between natural gas supply and demand in the country,
Government of Pakistan (GOP) is aggressively pursuing to bring additional gas from
different sources such as:
Transnational Pipelines:
TAPI: Will bring 1325 MMCFD gas into Pakistan.
Iran-Pakistan: Will bring 750-1000 MMCFD gas into Pakistan
GAS SUPPLY TO PAKISTAN:
13. 13
Liquified Natural Gas (LNG):
After commissioning of Engro ELENGY Terminal, import of 600 MMCFD gas started
through Qatar Gas
Second LNG Terminal will bring another 400-600 MMCFD gas into Pakistan. First flow
is expected in the second quarter of year 2017.
Gawadar LNG Terminal: Will bring 400-600 MMCFD gas into Pakistan
03 Private Sector LNG Terminals will bring 2400-3600 MMCFD gas into Pakistan.
GAS SUPPLY TO PAKISTAN:
14. 14
In order to transport the gas volumes to be made available under the above
projects, fast track implementation of pipeline infrastructure projects is mandatory
to achieve the target dates. Main challenges were:
Augmentation of pipeline infrastructure
Development contractual framework
GAS PIPELINE INFRASTRUCTURE
DEVELOPMENT CHALLANGES:
16. Planning, Design and Construction of natural gas infrastructure including compressor
stations.
Three layer polyethylene coating on steel line pipe of diameter ranging from 4” to 42”.
Planning, Design and Construction of Fiber Optic Cables.
Design and Installation of CP systems.
Development of Geographical Information System (GIS) maps.
Company has accredited professional practices & affiliations and is equipped with state
of the art techniques and gadgets / machinery to accomplish above services.
CAPABILITIES:
16
18. 18
In order to transport the gas volumes to be made available under the above projects,
fast track implementation of pipeline infrastructure projects is mandatory to achieve
the target dates.
Both gas utility companies of Pakistan are engaged in augmentation of their pipeline
infrastructure for receiving the additional gases into their system. Keeping in view
the anticipated gas supplies consideration is being given to undertake the laying of
Gas Pipeline infrastructure for the transportation of gas from source to destinations.
GAS PIPELINE INFRASTRUCTURE
DEVELOPMENT PLANS:
19. 19
In view of acute energy crisis prevailing in the country, Government of Pakistan
aggressively pursued the import of 1200 MMCFD LNG into the country to meet
shortfall in gas supplies which will be completed by mid this year. To transport this gas
from LNG terminals built near Karachi port to Lahore, both Sui Companies have
undertaken Pipeline Infrastructure Development Projects from Karachi to Lahore in their
areas i.e from Karachi to Sawan by SSGCL and from Sawan to Lahore by SNGPL.
SNGPL has undertaken its Project X for its system augmentation comprising 895 KM
pipeline of diameters from 42”to 16” along with 35000 HP compression which is nearing
completion bringing 1200 MMCFD LNG into its system, major part of which shall be
utilized in power sector. Company has also undertaken 24’’/ 30’’ dia spur lines for power
plants which has been successfully completed.

Government of Pakistan has now decided to import further 1200 MMCFD LNG for
upcoming LNG terminals in the country keeping in view the diminishing indigenous
gas supply resources for meeting the increasing gas demand of all sectors (i.e.
domestic, commercial, power and CNG sectors etc.), for which there is an
immediate need for the development of 1.2 BCFD pipeline capacity from Karachi
to Lahore.
In order to comply with Government of Pakistan’s directive for the development of
additional 1.2 BCFD capacity pipeline from Karachi to Lahore, Company has
prepared its Project XI comprising 42”dia x 770 KM (approx) pipeline between
Sawan-Lahore with 93,750 HP compression for the transportation of 1200
MMCFD RLNG from Sawan to Lahore.
