Liquid motion analysis
The conclusion of the project (no objection from BV Clas) is that the Cargo
Containment System (NO96 Mega Reinforced) is suitable to sustain the sloshing
loads in the different cargo tanks when the ship is operated for 40 years of
navigation in North Atlantic conditions within the standard filling limits (below 10%H
and above 70%H) and without any filling limitation in FSRU mode for regasification
conditions on site.

Conclusion
► Classification - compliance of a ship, vessel or offshore structure to the rules set
up by a classification society. This is established following plan approval and
surveys carried out by the society’s experts. Provides a point of reference on ship
safety and reliability to shipbuilders, repairers, brokers, charterers, Flag
Administrations, insurers and the financial community.
► FSRU = Floating alternative to shore LNG Storage and Regasification
► Particular loading due to environment and partial filling in tanks (sloshing)
► LNG needs safe cargo containment system and insulation
► Model tests and most advanced methodologies for analysis
► Assessment of LNG motion in tanks and validation of reinforcements for partial
fillings
► FSRU is a ship

  • 11. 11© - Copyright Bureau Veritas Liquid motion analysis The conclusion of the project (no objection from BV Clas) is that the Cargo Containment System (NO96 Mega Reinforced) is suitable to sustain the sloshing loads in the different cargo tanks when the ship is operated for 40 years of navigation in North Atlantic conditions within the standard filling limits (below 10%H and above 70%H) and without any filling limitation in FSRU mode for regasification conditions on site.

This is established following plan approval and surveys carried out by the society’s experts. Provides a point of reference on ship safety and reliability to shipbuilders, repairers, brokers, charterers, Flag Administrations, insurers and the financial community. ► FSRU = Floating alternative to shore LNG Storage and Regasification ► Particular loading due to environment and partial filling in tanks (sloshing) ► LNG needs safe cargo containment system and insulation ► Model tests and most advanced methodologies for analysis ► Assessment of LNG motion in tanks and validation of reinforcements for partial fillings ► FSRU is a ship ► Strength under extreme loads ► Fatigue assessment
