Ongoing	success	criteria	
1. Companies	of	different	sizes	and	sectors	measure	
success	in	different	ways,	via	different	KPIs
2. Defining	those	KPIs	that	relate	directly	to	the	LMS	
project	is	the	step	1	for	ensuring	continued	buy-in
3. Measuring	against	those	KPIs	should	be	done	via	
the	platform	itself	as	much	as	possible
4. Company	and	the	LMS	vendor	success	teams	
should	always	be	aligned	about	what	makes	the	
project	a	success	and	check	status	against	
available	data

1. Usage	: are	my	end	users	logging	in	the	system?	
How	frequently	compared	to	the	past?
2. Engagement	: are	my	users	accessing	the	course	
material	available	to	them?	How	frequently?
3. Social/Informal	:	are	my	users	engaging	in	
learning	from	one	another?	Are	questions	being	
asked	and	valuable	feedback	provided?	
4. Admin	team	time:	how	much	time	are	we	
spending	in	admin	the	system?	Is	it	what	we	had	
budgeted,	more	or	less?

Example	of	Unit	Economics	KPIs	
1. Revenue	correlation:	in	defined	time	periods,	are	
there	correlations	with	additional	generated	
revenue?	IE.	LMS	projects	with	a	content	
subscription	service.	Investment	versus	Revenue	
variation.
2. Customer	Retention:	how	is	my	customer	
retention	data	changing?	Adoption	versus	Churn.
3. Employee	retention:	how	likely	are	my	colleagues	
to	say	“this	Learning	Experience	is	great”	to	their	
manager?	Internal	NPS.
