The first shot, will be a close up of Jasmine our main characters face. The background mise-ens-cence will be of
her band (Luca and Savas) and instruments confirmative of the indie pop genre. The lighting will be low key
lighting, demonstrating a mystery enigma effect, as well as conforming to the performance style, as it is strongly
associated with concerts etc.. Jasmine will be centre of the rule of thirds, and the shot will be slightly pulled
focus, so she is more in focus and looks more important than the background.
Time 0.4-0.5 seconds. This will be a fast jump cute of the skate park, with
youths using the facilities. This will symbolise places where cool kids
hang out in order to set the mood and establish the theme coinciding
with the lyrics, which are about ‘cool kids’
Time:0.5-0.7 Seconds.
This two second shot will feature a head on medium close up shot, of preferably bikes or something along the lines of
transport that youths/cool kids will have access to. This will establish the setting and set the scene along the lines of
places where cool kids hang out. If we film up town in London, it would be nice to include a medium close up shot, of
the Barclays bikes, a form of transport of which many youths pride themselves with. The lighting will be high key
natural lighting, representing outdoors, where a lot of ‘cool kids’ hang out.
Time:0.7-16 seconds:
This rather long shot, will be a medium close up shot, of a girl on a swing. This
represents a playground/playpark, coinciding with the theme of cool kids. The shot
will consist of several takes of the girl moving backwards and forwards on the swing,
and will further enable setting to the established.
Time: 0.16-0.17 seconds.
This loose frame shot, will be of a setting, either park or town, and will have youths in the
near distance. This will further establish the setting prior to the lyrics starting.
Time:0.18-0.23 seconds.
This is the start of the lyrics. Therefore this shot will be a close up performance shot, of our
main artist Jasmine lip-synching the lyrics, against a white background. This gives us scope to
add in cool effects after and also allows the artist on the album cover, to be in synch with the
main artist of the music video.
Time:0.23-0.25.
This will be a close up shot of feet walking. We are aiming for the
model to wear shoes if which are representitiative of a popular
brand among youths to further enhance the idea of cool kids.
Time: 0.25-0.31.
This will be another close up shot of Jasmine, lip-synching the lyrics to the song.

This will be a close up shot, of anyone representative of the cool kid age (15-18). This will
establish setting and introduce more characters representing the collective nature of cool kids.

This will again be a close up shot, of Jasmine lip-synching the lyrics, however this time it will
be even closer up, and more of a tight frame shot.
0.45-0.47.
This shot will be a medium close up head on shot of a girl standing slightly isolated to
the rest of the group. This will be representative of the exclusion some feel in terms of
not fitting in, with the “cool kids”

This shot will again be Jasmine lip-synching the lyrics, as we hit the first chorus.
Time: 0.51-1.03.
This shot will be a montage of shots, each with a close up of people of whom fit within our target
audience, lip-synching the lyrics. This will enhance the themes of cool kids, and the struggle many young
people have for their search for identity when it comes to fitting in at social events. We got this idea from
the opening credits to the Netflix series ‘Orange is the New black’
Time: 10.3-1.11.
This will be shots of young people laughing and engaging
in conversation. This will keep the video in synch with the
lyrics and subject of the music.
