• Surface runoff is the water flow that occurs when the soil is infiltrated
to full capacity and excess water from rain, meltwater, or other sources
flows over the land. This is a major component of the water cycle, and
the primary agent in water erosion.

• Surface runoff pollutions is when stormwater collects dirt, toxins,
fertilizers, pet waste, oils, trash, etc. on its way from roofs, gutters,
downspouts, driveways, parking lots, yards, etc.
