This document discusses stewardship design principles inspired by living systems. It begins by explaining key characteristics of open living systems, such as being purposeful, adaptive, self-regulating, and able to achieve the same ends from different starting points. It then discusses five principles for stewardship design: balance, interdependence, regeneration, diversity, and succession. Each principle is examined through the lens of natural ecosystems and how it can be applied to human systems and design. The document advocates applying these principles iteratively to foster more resilient futures that are aligned with natural systems.
