Prescription Over Counter Drugs Essay
Prescription and over the counter drugs. If you asked the vast majority of people in the US if there a
problem with more of the well known prescription and over the counter drugs they would tell you no.
Take ibuprofen for example, many people think that this drug is absolutely safe with only a very small
chance of it harming you in any way. But just last year the FDA has strengthen the warning on all
NSAID s. NSAID s stand for non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, and ibuprofen lands in that
category. While many people don t take medicine that say ibuprofen many you might be taking
something like Motrin or Advil, and these to fall into the category of NSAID s. The fact that there is a
very small amount of education on this subject surprises me. Many people know that abusing the big
drugs like cocaine, heroin and methamphetamines, but a small minority of people actually understands
the risk of prescription drug abuse. I am not talking about the prescription only drugs but the over the
counter drugs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

diagnosed mental disorders among teens; ADHD. The drug that most psychiatrists to help with ADHD

these drugs themselves but it s the under education with these drugs in America. These drugs are
always considered to be extremely harmless, but there not. These drugs are not harmless; in fact, they
are extremely underestimated in their destructive powers. This also include or most used and beloved

The Pros And Cons Of Pigeonholing
I have decided that since I am attempting to organize my thoughts into coherent and accordant
arguments, it is easier if each topic is framed as a question I can directly answer. The potential
downside of this approach is that I risk at making my responses too simplistic, forcing myself to take a
side. However, I am cognizant of that risk, and reserve the right to look at the potential answers to
each question as lying on a spectrum (or spectrums) of possibilities. I want to be able to focus my
topics without pigeonholing my responses.
There were a number of topics I considered for my first post. Even the process of brainstorming
helped me to categorize areas of interest and relative expertise. Looking at my groupings it is clear
that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If there is no objective reality, independent of our interpretation, then what is it we are sensing? Why
can separate people from different places and times look at the same thing and come to the same
conclusions? The only possible answer here is that there is something constant, objective, and
independent of their interpretation that exists. When I look at the night s sky and see the moon, it
usually looks light yellowish/cream coloured. Other people with slightly different biology and
experiences might see something slightly different, like light green perhaps, but certainly no one sees
a rainbow coloured unicorn. If they do, we would rightly conclude that there is something not working
properly somewhere. Even beings vastly different from ourselves might see something vastly different
than we see, but that would not change the truth that there is a moon there and it is not a rainbow
unicorn. Similarly, in my literature classes, I encourage my students to interpret the works for
themselves. However, if they want to argue that The Great Gatsby was actually set on Neptune in the
year 1734, they have a significant challenge ahead of them. There is a book there with words that have
meanings independent of their interpretation. This is the case for all of reality: There is an objective
truth there, and we bring our individual interpretations to

The Importance Of Horror Films
Horror films have slowly but surely become one of the most popular and beloved film genres. Due to
the genre s widespread popularity, it would be assumed that there is a clear identified reason that
people are so dedicated to this specific industry, but that is not the case. The truth is there are a
multitude of reasons. According to Maggie McCutcheon s Too Disturbing, Too Shocking , one reason
for horror movies is it allows the viewer to be scared without the fear of mortal doom following them
out of the theater. Because horror films have many purposes, and this purpose is stated by many, this
paper will discuss the importance that conquering the fear of the supernatural plays in the success of
horror movies.
One purpose of horror films is to allow the audience to confront the fear of the supernatural. Many
experts that are succeeding in both the creation and study of horror films have deemed this as one of
the most common reasons that today s society has so heavily gravitated toward the genre. In Stanley
Solomon s The Nightmare World , he concurs with Dirks claim and believes that one of the biggest
purposes horror films serve is to conqueror fears. In this article, Solomon observes that there are
suppressed fears within every individual that need to be conquered (Soloman 796). These fears need to
be defeated so that people are not consumed and over run by a seemingly irrational fear (Dirks 1). The
Horror films supply a more than adequate environment for

Advantages And Disadvantages Of China In The 19th Century
Throughout history, China was viewed as one of the superpowers and its economic strength and
influence on other nations were vastly significant. Some say that China is becoming a center of the
world economically and militarily, however, during the 19th century, Chinese people actually believed
that China was the center the world and it was quite true. China experienced great benefits of being a
superior country than other countries, but later they faced some problems or disadvantages of being an
enemy against all the other nations, especially the West. In the early 19th century, China was
considered as the center of the world. Its massive production of manufactured goods (tea, porcelain,
furniture, etc) and excessive wealth led to explorations during the Ming dynasty. Emperor Chengzu
sent an explorer, Zheng He, to explore and observe through the Middle East, India, and Africa. Zheng

China and Britain traded goods, but one can say that it was almost China selling not trading . China
exported vast amount of goods to Britain, but at the same time, China refused to import nearly any
goods from Britain. This was problematic, it led to the Britain s proposal of opening more ports in
China which caused Qianlong Emperor to write a letter that condescended the British King. This
slowly angered the British people and it eventually worsen the relationship between China and Britain.
Few decades later, bad trade relationship led to outbreak of war called, the Opium War. At first, it was
only some smugglers who brought opium in China illegally, but later the poisonous drug affected
citizens working abilities and Chinese society. In order to stop British merchants from smuggling in
opium, Lin Zexu wrote a letter to Queen Victoria. The letter demanded the Queen to stop letting her
subjects from bringing in Opium to China, however, the letter was never delivered to Queen

Intestones Research Paper
A rumbling, growling stomach can be a source of embarrassment. Borborygmi sounds seem much
louder to those experiencing the sounds. However, most of these noises are inaudible. When awake,
intestines rhythmically move as the walls contract and relax to mix food with fluids and move it gently
along. The occasional peristaltic wave may be heard as intestinal contents are moved. This is what
causes us to hear stomach noises.
Borborygmus, a rumbling or gurgling noise made by the movement of fluid and gas in the intestines,
is a normal phenomenon that can happen to anyone, anywhere (Dictionary.com, and Hofmeister).
Within the intestines, ingested fluids and solids are combined with about eight liters of enzyme rich
fluid (IFFGD). Fluid moving through a tube is silent (IFFGD). It is only when there is air that it is
audible (IFFGD). In the intestine gases come from swallowed air and the release of hydrogen, carbon
dioxide, and some other gases by the bacterial evaporation of undigested food in the lower gut
(IFFGD). Even when inaudible to the owner, sounds may be heard by a doctor using a stethoscope
(IFFGD). While the movement of fluids and gases occurs at all levels, the most audible sounds come
from the stomach (IFFGD). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While transporting partially digested food, air gets shifted too (Hofmeister). This creates sound
vibrations (Hofmeister). In the small intestine and stomach, air makes noise like blowing bubbles
through a straw (Hofmeister). This air is moving either towards the stomach or toward the buttocks
(Hofmeister). Being hungry causes more muscle contractions flare, because the digestive system must
clear out remains of the last meal eaten to prepare for the next foods (Hofmeister). Eating can help
calm the contractions, also muffling the sounds

Abrams And Sedition Act Case
During times of political unrest and hysteria, the Court seems to allow for more limits on speech if
simply because the times host more potential for danger. Take the following example as parallel to
Schenck, Abrams, and the circumstances surrounding both. In the 1969 case Brandenburg v. Ohio, the
Court abandoned the clear and present danger test, stating that only speech that produces or is likely to
produce violent actions or illegal behavior can be banned (Cohen 32). The Court argued a difference
between advocacy of ideas and incitement of unlawful conduct exists though the Court did not define
it. During this time, the United States was not concerned with being overthrown by insurgents or
overcome with hysteria like earlier in the century. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Court, in affirming the judgment of lower courts, deferred to Congress but also redefined the
standard to protect future free speech since the times implied more stringent restrictions on speech
could follow. Had the Court struck down the ruling, Congress would not have the necessary power to
limit speech, and future dangerous speech would go unabated since doing so would create the rule that
Congress cannot limit free speech. Rather than create this rule, the Court created a new standard by
which to measure the ability of Congress to curb free speech on a case by case basis. This new
standard, which more broadly protects free speech, has evolved over time, as evident in Abrams,
Brandenburg, and Holder. The ability to evolve over time and to apply to different cases in lower
courts highlights Holmes idea that rights were established by society and balanced by the needs of the
society, according to blah blah, and thus reflects an inherent legitimacy. Again, having this standard
and the ability to choose to use it or not allows the Court to reflect the necessities of society, thereby
aligning more closely to

Pope Pius XII and the Jews Essay
The twentieth century was marked by genocides on an monstrous scale. One of the most terrible was
the Holocaust wrought by Nazi Germany, which killed an estimated six million European Jews and
almost as many other victims.
During this dark time, the Catholic Church was shepherded by Pope Pius XII, who proved himself an
untiring foe of the Nazis, determined to save as many Jewish lives as he could. Yet today Pius XII gets
almost no credit for his actions before or during the war.
Anti Catholic author Dave Hunt writes, quot; The Vatican had no excuse for its Nazi partnership or for
its continued commendation of Hitler on the one hand and its thunderous silence regarding the Jewish
question on the other hand. . . . [The popes] continued ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Germans were likewise displeased with the reigning pontiff, Pius XI, who showed himself to be a
unrelenting opponent of the new German quot;ideals quot; even writing an entire encyclical, Mit
Brennender Sorge (1937), to condemn them. When Pius XI died in 1939, the Nazis abhorred the
prospect that Pacelli might be elected his successor.
Dr. Joseph Lichten, a Polish Jew who served as a diplomat and later an official of the Jewish Anti
Defamation League of B nai B rith, writes: quot;Pacelli had obviously established his position clearly,
for the Fascist governments of both Italy and Germany spoke out vigorously against the possibility of
his election to succeed Pius XI in March of 1939, though the cardinal secretary of state had served as
papal nuncio in Germany from 1917 to 1929. . . . The day after his election, the Berlin Morgenpost
said: The election of cardinal Pacelli is not accepted with favor in Germany because he was always
opposed to Nazism and practically determined the policies of the Vatican under his predecessor. quot;

good reason to make Pacelli the architect of his anti Nazi policy. Of

Free Speech Limitations
Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. s
words ring true in the vast majority of the population of America. According to Associated Press
National Constitution Center Poll, which was featured on the Washington Post, stated that 70 percent
of all Americans believe that freedom of speech should mean that people should have the right to say
what they believe in, even if they take positions that seem deeply offensive to most people. Based on
the supporting evidence from the AP National Constitution Center Poll, the majority of Americans are
agreeing with the idea of freedom of speech. They are confident that we as Americans deserve to
speak on what we strongly believe in, regardless of the highly offensive words that most people seem
to be repulsive to. Many Americans have also realized that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Free speech was, and still is included in a free society. Considering the fact that a free society depends
on a lot of basic things, in which free speech is one of them. Free speech is the foundation that
America was built on, the evidence supports this claim because of the fact that the document of the
first amendment was written based on free speech. In addition, It s a crucial role because of the fact
that we as citizens have a voice to condemn the negative things in our society, in which we live in. As
a result, we are always reconstructing and making freedom of speech our necessary rule. Therefore, it
s a top priority for a free society to have, and will always keep. As Ayaan Hirsi Ali states, Free speech
is the bedrock of liberty and a free society. and yes, it includes the right to blaspheme and offend. This
obviously justifies that free speech is an essential component of a free society. Furthermore, it justifies
that free speech should not be limited, because of the huge advantages it offers to a free

Like his father, Benito became a burning socialist.
Mussolini had huge goals of running a political machine based on his own beliefs. Born in the poverty
stricken village of Romagna, Italy, he was wild, nomadic, and defiant as a young adult lived the life of
a bum. Showing fierce aggression at such a young age, he was expelled from two schools for knife
assaults on other students. His father a village blacksmith and his mother a schoolmistress, he lived
life in poverty that seemed inscapable. By moving from Italy to Austria he devoted himself to the

comrades were enraged by his article committing Socialist support to Italy s entry into the World War.
Just years earlier he had been protesting Italy s entry in war. Called up for military service, he was
wounded and returned in 1917.
In 1919 he founded the facist di combattimento, which in 1921 became the Italian Facist party. With
facist party backing and Mussolini s own tactics he rose to power between 1919 and 1922. Mussolini
entered parliament in 1921 as a right wing member. The Fascisti formed armed squads to boss around
Mussolini s former Socialist colleagues. The Italian government rarely interfered. In return for the
support of a group of industrialists, Mussolini gave his approval to strikebreaking, and he abandoned
revolutionary disturbance. When the liberal governments of others had failed to stop the spread of
anarchy, King Victor Emmanuel III invited Mussolini to form a coalition government in 1922. With
the support of the Liberals in parliament, he introduced strict censorship and altered the methods of
election so that in 1925 1926 he was able to assume dictatorial powers and end all other political
parties. By 1926 the facist leader had transformed Italy into a single party, tolalitarian regime. He was
also head of the all powerful Fascist party and the armed Fascist militia.

Final Examination
The active participation of the people regarding their political culture is paramount to the durability
and vitality of their regime. That is, a population that fosters a positive spirit in support of their
government and ardently engages mutually within it will ultimately support a sturdy democracy.
Furthermore, a democracy standing on the virtues of trust and civic engagement within its people will
be able to stand tall and powerful because it s people will be able to cooperate to essentially get more
accomplished.
To begin, the primary element that defines a strong democracy is social capital. Social capital is
defined as, ...features of social organization, such as trust, norms, and networks, that can improve the
efficiency of society by facilitating coordinated actions, (Putnam 167). Putnam posits a very effective
example concerning social capital: ...a group whose members manifest trustworthiness and place
extensive trust in one another will be able to accomplish much more than a comparable group lacking
that trustworthiness and trust, (Putnam 167). In this example he highlights the importance of a
relationship built around trust and how it lends itself to getting more accomplished.
Through social capital, there is a spontaneous cooperation within the people. Spontaneous cooperation
emphasizes the value of trust, and the importance of being both reliable and honest as a

Eastern Wolf Essay
An Analysis of Eastern Wolves Being a Species Distinct from Grey Wolves and Coyotes
Evolutionary origins of the eastern wolves have been a topic of debate among scientists and
conservationists for many years, whether their evolution is independent of grey wolves and coyotes.
Currently, eastern wolves are mainly identified as a subspecies of Grey wolves or as a hybrid,
resulting from interbreeding between grey wolves and coyotes. Following the genotypic cluster
species concept, this paper identifies eastern wolves (Canis Lycaon) as a distinct species because they
show little similarities in genomic data with the gray wolves and coyotes and carry Y chromosome
haplotypes that are unique to eastern wolves only. provides evidence that eastern wolf is a separate
species by comparing the genotypes of stimulated gray wolf x coyote hybrids to the genotype of
eastern wolves observed in the Algonquin Provincial Park. The author uses PCA to convert the
obtained genome wide SNP data into two dimensional cluster plot. According to the author, if eastern

management to create potential situations of rapid growth in efforts to give the appearance of reported
earnings to meet Wall Street s expectations. Although Enron s compensation and performance

contributed to a dysfunctional corporate culture that became interested only in short term profits to
maximize bonuses. In addition, accounting results were recorded as soon as possible to keep up with

there are available resources. The skills shortage in construction ranges from a shortage of bricklayers

This shortage isn t just in the numbers available but also a shortage of those are skilled in their field,
meaning that most of the workers lack experiences. This will reduce the speed in which the industry
grows which then may affect the contribution that the industry has on the UK economy.
The resources available to the industry are depleting, which means that alternative methods of

REVIEW
MARKET SECTOR AND APPLICATION
Sound transmission would be a driver for the need to use acoustic insulation on intermediate floors.
There are two types of sound, two sources. Airborne sound and Impact sound. Airborne sound is
vibrations generated from a source, like speech and loudspeakers, which is then transmitted through
the air. These vibrations cannot go through a floor. However, they do cause vibrations within them,
which cause the air on the other side of the floor to vibrate. It is these vibrations that cause the sound.
The way to reduce these vibrations is to increase the mass of the floor. Therefore, concrete has a better
sound resistance than timber.
Whereas impact sounds are sounds that are caused by something coming into contact with the floor.
Such as footsteps. The vibrations caused by impact sound can also cause some airborne sounds in
objects attached to or resting on the floor.
Sound can transmit through a floor in two way, directly or indirectly. Direct transmission is when the
floor transmits the sound from one side to another. Indirect transmission is when the sound uses other
elements attached to the floor. Concrete is generally good at limiting both direct and indirect noise.
Therefore,

Film Reflection On The Film Shottas
Introduction
For this assignment, I decided to reflect on the film Shottas . The film begins in the streets of
Kingston, Jamaica home of Biggs and Wayne, the two main characters. They lived within a very
dangerous and violent town, which drove them into their own violent lifestyle. As young men, how the
movie starts off, they rob the local drug dealers of a gun for a premeditated robbery. The money
allowed for them to purchase visas to come to Miami, Florida. While in the United States, as adults,
the two continue their criminal activities leading them to be deported back to their home in Jamaica.
Mad Max and Wayne, who was deported years before Biggs made his return, had already formed a
striving extortion business. Wayne made it mandatory for all businesses in the Kingston area to pay
money to operate there, or they will be killed. The Jamaica Police did not like Wayne or his Shoota
crew, after the gruesome public murder the police then killed Wayne s brother. Later, the Congressmen
offered to renew Wayne, Biggs, and Mad Max s visa to get them out of the country. Happily back in
Miami, the three men aim to becoming the top drug dealers of the city, by extorting the new top drug
dealer, Teddy. As they raise to power in Miami, they commit several forms of extortion, murder, and
assaults. The film ends in extreme violence leading to the murders of Wayne and Mad Max, in a
shootout with Teddy s crew. Biggs then murders Teddy and his girlfriend, while getting away with all
his money and escapes.
Scanning
This movie has a lot to do with organized crime and how organizations typically build their way up to
it. In the beginning, Biggs and Wayne were just acting as partners in low leveled criminal activities,
however, with age came more discipline and a striving criminal organization named Shottas . The film
focuses on different organized crimes, yet for this paper the focus will be on extortion. Extortion is,
the act of obtaining property of another through threats of future harm. It seems to be a major issue
within the movie, because it is the way the Shottas came to power in the underworld.
Analysis
When it comes to extortion, in my opinion, there are different levels when it comes to classifying

The increasing numbers of sub model cars can also affect the brand quality through increasing any risk

have high expectations about the high quality promised by the company. In 2003, the company
disappointed many customers when they sold over 2000 vehicles with an extra option for a navigation
system, which were not ready to be delivered at the right time, also accompanied by other mechanical
issues. On the other hand, the company made an announcement about its new high quality hydraulic

Of Mice And Men Movie Vs Book
Of Mice and Men Movie Review
In this adaptation of the book Of Mice and Men, Gary Sinise puts on one of his best performances
ever and directs a fantastic film. The film is able to expand on the novel in a successful way. The
casting in the movie is exceptional and one of the highlights of the whole film. The movie of Mice and
Men is the best adaptation of the book and is a must see film.
In the movie Of Mice and Men, the characters portray the book accurately. In the film the main
character Lennie is played by John Malkovich, who overreacts in the film creating an image of Lennie
that is nothing like the book. In the film he is not able to create as much sympathy in the book as John
Malkovich doesn t play the role well. On the other hand, George played by Gary Sinise, ... Show more

For example, one of the only parts of the book that truly emphasizes Lennie s incredible strength is
when he crushes Curley s hand, but in the film adaptation Gary Sinise adds an extra scene that truly
shows the extent of Lennie s strength. In other instances, Gary Sinise interprets some scenes in a
slightly abnormal way which can sometimes result in success but in this film the different
interpretations negatively affect the suspense in important scenes. In general, Gary Sinise directed this
adaptation admirably.
The film has subtle undertones of symbolization and big ideas . For example, throughout the film the
viewer can easily notice how animals are a recurring theme throughout the film. In most instances, the
animal in the film was not featured in the book. The director makes the symbols obvious so the viewer
can easily understand these symbols. The director is able to have the symbols in the film provoke
more thought, similar to what the book was able to accomplish. Throughout, the film Gary Sinise
succeeds in adding in extra symbols that add to the overall competence of the

High Intensity Interval Training ( Hiit )
INTRODUCTION: High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is known as one method to treat
Cardiovascular Diseases (CD), such as Coronary Arterial Disease (CAD) and Heart Failure (HF), due
to its potential to improve cardio respiratory fitness (1, 15). This exercise format is characterized as
aerobic exercise performed in a high intensity usually controlled by either maximum oxygen uptake or
maximum heart rate with active and low intensity. Performing exercise in high intensities mixed with
active rest allows patients to tolerate a higher effort before they become tired. Heart failure patients
present a diminished exercise capacity, due to a smaller Ejection Fraction (EF), which tells us how
well the heart pumps blood to body. To these patients, High Intensity Interval Training has been
reported for improving Systolic Function due to the increased effort in which the heart is working
(16). The necessity to provide nutrients through circulation during exercise leads to an increased
contractility and consequently LV Remodeling (15). Coronary Arterial Disease Patients have a
decreased blood flow to the myocardial tissue due to an obstruction inside the coronary arteries. HIIT
increases the arteriovenous O2 difference, which means there is an elevated consumption of oxygen
by the tissues as result of a higher stroke volume. All those benefits have been shown in the literature,
but most of the studies present data with short term interventions. A few studies discuss the benefits

Concussions In Rugby
Introduction:
In the sport of rugby there are a lot of different injuries that you could get in the sport for example a
concussion. The reason why this topic is interesting to research is because the injurie which is called a
concussion is a fascinating injurie. A Concussion is a type of head injury. It happens when someone
gets a significant bang on the head so much which the brain is shaken and knocks against the inside of
the skull. This causes the nerves and structures in the brain to be altered. The reason why I have
chosen to research into concussion in rugby is because I find it interesting how an injurie from when
you were a child can have an effect on your body in later life, and how people have found out a way to
prevent a concussion to happen. Also I play rugby so I wanted to find out what is a concussion in more
detail, and by this research I have done I could get a better understanding of a concussion. And in my
essay I will be talking about the Significant risk of concussion in children, Short and long term effects
of concussion, Ways to prevent a concussion ,Concussion linked to mental health problems for ex
sportsmen, Teens who suffer a concussion and a result after a concussion.
Significant risk of concussion in children:

The Importance Of Teacher Attrition In Education
Twenty three percent of teachers leave the teaching profession during their first five years of teaching
(Elisa Shernoff, Ane Marín ̃ ez Lora, Stacy Frazier, Lara Jakobsons, Marc Atkins, Deborah Bonner,
2011, p. 465). Teaching has been a career before writing was established, however there has never
been such a high attrition rate in teaching. Attrition is defined as a reduction in workforce without
firing of personnel, as when workers resign or retire and are not replaced (CITATION Dictionary
.com). While the current flow of students training to become teachers is still strong, novice teachers do
not find enough encouragement in their first few years of teaching to remain in the profession. Instead,
their experiences cause them to feel discouraged and disrespected to the point that they do not believe
that teaching is where they belong. This crisis regarding education sustainability needs to be redefined
to include the sustainability of teachers. Sustaining future education relies on creating and hiring
teachers who enjoy being part of a learning environment. The use of student teaching, teacher
collaboration, and less mandated learning goals can lower the teacher attrition rate and sustain
education. Also, although some people believe that other resources are more important to sustain,
education is going to be detrimental to the success of future societies.
Student teaching can help lessen teacher attrition by giving the pre service teacher experience in a
classroom,

Youth Gang Membership And It s Implication Adolescent...
There are over 700,000 adolescents who are involved in youth gangs. (Thomas). America has a youth
gang culture that is present in its society. This paper will focus on youth gang membership and it s
implication to adolescent development. First to be discussed will be the demographics of adolescents
involved in gangs. Then the reasons why youth join gangs and how it is related to their natural
development. Next, we will turn to contemplate the implication of gang culture and involvement in
America s public school system and the effect on teachers and their classrooms. Finally, we will look
into how prevention programs on large and small scale can positively influence gang culture in our
education systems. Who in America is members of gangs? According to the National Youth Gang
Center in the United States 28,700 youth gangs that involved 780,200 members (Thomas). Gang
membership is more likely among males than females and the average age in 18 although it can range
anywhere from 10 18. Gangs are more likely in large urban areas, but can range from any size city or
town. It s important to note the difference between youth gangs and a deviant youth group. Youth
gangs are defined by researchers as distinct group recognized by its members and the community and
involved in criminal acts (Thomas 63). The main difference involves the recognition of the gangs in
their respected communities. Most of the time gangs will show their membership by different symbols

Sacrifice in Life of Pi, Pi by Yann Martel Essays
Happiness is a key to everybodys life. Even the most depressed man on earth has a little happiness
deep down inside. Its what keeps us striving to fulfil our needs and wants on an everyday basis. There
is not one kid who does not get excited over a dollar to spend at the candy shop. What about the
feeling of getting a promotion at your job, or even finding the cure for cancer. Being happy is not just
healthy, but it is also rewarding for each and every individual. We strive to find anything that will turn
a bad day to a good one. Individuals will compromise to attain their happiness. You can not get what

When the big storm appeared this meant that all Pi had left to do was pray and sacrifice to the gods for
the storm to stop. Pi gave up all of his mental state to stay alive, and in return was granted happiness.
Richard Parker has now accepted Pi, and Pi has accepted Richard Parker. There is no more worrying
for Pi other than to find some land, he is now happy after such a little event. Any one can find
happiness depending on what happy means to them. If doing a backflip into a pool makes you happy,
then you will end up risking anything to get that last backflip in before the summer ends. Happiness is
like a rush of adrenaline, once you feel it once there is no stopping you from wanting it back again.
If you are ever bored, try doing something that makes you happy and I bet you the time will end up
flying by. Pi had a few main goals while on his trip. To train Richard Parker, to survive, and to get the
hell off of the boat and get home. All of these goals Pi made compromises for each one. The
motivation to reach these goals gave Pi many activities to do while living on the bare minimum. By
not wanting to feel like there is no hope for his survival, Pi strived to become happy because you will
live longer with a smile and not with a grin. There is nothing more rewarding than accomplishing
anything you have worked very hard for. Happiness is a gift that we can all receive, but first you must

Burt s Bees Advertisement Analysis
Burt s Bees is known for its amazingly healing lip balm, however, it wasn t always this way. When
Burt s Bees was first established by Roxanne Quimby and Burt Shavitz it was a candle company.
Since then Burt s Bees has flourished and became a worldwide brand, including a multitude of health
and beauty products. To further understand the advertisement and everything that went into and still
goes into Burt s Bees we first need to look at the founders and how the brand was created. This is
because to this day the advertisement is linked to the founders of the brand and what kind of people
they are reflecting onto the brand they have established. As we dive further into the advertisement of

For this it is clear to see the improvement of the Burt s Bees commercials when there are two being
compared to one another. The first commercial is the Uncap Flavor: Fireworks commercial that
launched over two years ago. This commercial involves some new fun flavors of the Burt s Bees lip
balms. They display this by having black and white doodles in the beginning of the commercial then
an explosion of colors like fireworks when all the lip balms are shown. The second commercial is
their most recent, New Burt s Bees Lipstick Commercial. This commercial is displayed in a bright
green rainforest as the bold red lipstick slides down the wet leaves of the trees. This commercial also
has a very catchy love song in the background. When comparing the two commercials it is easy to see
the quality and attraction pull of the second commercial is greater than the first. The second
commercial stays true to the Burt s Bees natural, nature loving company while keeping an upbeat
positive vibe. Although the first commercial mentioned is also a positive one it is not as dramatic with
both contrasting colors as the first. I believe that Burt s Bees has stepped up their commercial game
and when I was looking for commercials to use in this essay Burt s Bees commercial song was the top
Google search about Burt s Bees that popped up. This shows that the advancement of using a catchy
tune makes the brand name memorable and

Examples Of Torture And Into The Dark Chamber
3.2 Torture and Into the Dark Chamber
Coetzee s novel Waiting for the Barbarians is often considered to be his most powerful work, because
it offers a significant addition to the international discourse on torture in South Africa. For Coetzee, it
represented a unique challenge to his literary craft, namely, how to present such an atrocity as torture
in a novel without repeating it:
For the writer the deeper problem is not to allow himself to be impaled on the dilemma proposed by
the state, namely, either to ignore its obscenities or else to produce representations of them. The true
challenge is: how not to play the game by the rules of the state, how to establish one s own authority,
how to imagine torture and death on one s own terms. (Coetzee ed. Atwell, Doubling the Point 364) ...

between authoritarianism and its victims , and reason two that the torture room is a site of extreme
human experience, accessible to no one save the participants (Coetzee ed. Attwell 363. The element of
torture creates a crisis of comprehension for the Magistrate, as well as for the reader, in Waiting for the

The song Mama I Love you is also the theme song of a movie, The Unwritten Law. Unexpectedly,
although the song title is Mama I Love You , it was not sung by a son or daughter, instead it was sung
by a mother figure. The lyrics of this song all touches my heart deeply. My favorite lyrics is, you don t
have to feel burdened to repay (for my love), just say Ma Ma I Love You (無須負重任 催逼一生答謝
只須講 Ma Ma I Love You). This line might seem to be a cliché, but it really works for me. When I
listen to this song, it reminds me of how my mother, and father, love me, it support me to fight against
stress and other bad emotions. Apart from the verbal meanings, the dynamic of this song is soft at the
beginning, but when it comes to the chorus, which is the part of my favorite lyrics, it becomes
stronger. I think it suit very well with my perception of maternal love, at first, it was like a mother
treating her baby, and even how the baby has grown up to be an adult, the feelings of being loved and
concerned by mother bring sense of security and stability. When it comes to the chorus, the dynamic
and the singer s volume turn louder, as if the emotion and the love from mother become

The Benefits Of Foreign Language
Verbal language is how the human race communicates. Without it, nations would be severed from the
worldly ties it needs to survive. A hundred years ago language loss wasn t a concern, but now, it
threatens the world. There is a great urgency for plurilingual people amongst the military, political,
business, and international world, particularly in the U.S. If efforts are not taken to increase foreign
language capabilities amongst the people of America, the future of cross cultural communication will
be grim. Foreign language understanding is crucial in society, and so a greater effort should be taken
to educate the students of America for the benefit of globalization.
In the United States, foreign language study is in huge decline. In the past, the U.S. has attempted
foreign language study. In fact, 100 years ago the United States foreign language study was roughly
similar to Europe s foreign language study (King). But, after the United States entered World War I...
almost half the U.S. states criminalized the teaching of German or other foreign languages in schools
(King). This was because the United States was nervous that German speakers could transmit secret
war information. Now, over the decades, foreign language study has plateaued, especially in the U.S.
In fact, in some states, fewer than 10 percent of students are learning languages other than English,
painting a grim picture of foreign language education in U.S. public schools (Mitchell). The young
students of

I could say the second article strengthen the findings of the first by demonstrating the finding in a
controlled study that has been proven to be effective. In addition, each of these studies shares a similar
message, but the method in which they go about demonstrating that message is very different. The
first uses a collection of previously testes interventions to analyze and conclude the common findings
of these interventions. Well the second research article is a study whose purpose wasn t to demonstrate
an effective improvement, but test a hypothesis to the level of consent people of different races,

Elon Musk And Its Impact On The Planet
Within every generation, there are some individuals who transcend expectations and seek to innovate
beyond all preconceived boundaries. Elon Musk is one of those individuals, and he s currently valued
at $11.9 billion.
But how did this South African born entrepreneur make his way into virtually every technological
industry on the planet? How did he become the space traveling, futuristic car selling, loudmouthed
computer genius we all know today?
Elon Musk took an interest in computing and innovation from a very young age. By his thirteenth
birthday, he had already taught himself programming, constructed a complex space themed computer
game, and sold it to a large corporation. After moving to the United States and earning a bachelor ...

And if that wasn t enough already, Musk refused to take a steady job at a company, but rather build his
own. He completely ignored the fact that eight out of ten new businesses fail within their first five
years (Forbes) in other words, that the odds were not in his favor. But the notions of progress,
innovation and wild success were so pivotally important to Musk that he truly felt that this was his
calling. He and his brother Kimbal soon created Zip2, an Internet software product that allowed
newspapers to create city guides for their readers. After four years of expansion, including contracts
with The New York Times, Musk and his associates sold the company for a whopping $307 million.
At just 28, he was already a millionaire on his way to defying even more odds and pursuing important
goals.
I always invest my own money in the companies that I create. I don t believe in the whole thing of just
using other people s money. I don t think that s right. I m not going to ask other people to invest in
something if I m not prepared to do so myself.
Musk never half committed or submitted to being unsure. After his success with Zip2, he invested
virtually all of the money he had earned into his next venture, this time focusing on online payment
services. While many questioned his logic, Musk subsequently succeeded in merging with a company
who would

Imagery Usage in Shakespeare´s Julius Caesar
What comes to mind when one thinks of Romans ? Power, dominion, or even greatness could describe
these noble people. The Romans were arguably one of the most powerful civilizations in history, so
how could a people of such greatness come to such ruin? Power is a dangerous privilege for any
worldly nation to possess, and when mixed with a scandalous concoction of greed and corruption,
could spell the end of an entire civilization. Julius Caesar showcases Shakespeare s own interpretation
concerning the demise of Rome s most famous leader. This play spotlights various examples of
imagery to help the audience understand the author s interpretation of this historical tragedy. Imagery
is a kind of figurative language used to help the reader ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It could be that Caesar has become barren, not Calpurnia, which could create problems if Ceasar were
to assume a throne; he would be unable to produce an heir. So what could one see under this new
perspective? Perhaps Julius Caesar s actions were directed to make himself king after all, and thus
making him seem like a more power hungry figure in the story. If Caesar was indeed seeking the
throne as the conspirators claimed, wouldn t it be important to him that he would have a successor?
Perhaps William Shakespeare was trying to convey the image that Caesar is not the flawless leader he
seems to think he is. In this situation, barrenness becomes an important piece of imagery to help the
reader view Julius Caesar in the underlying image possibly understood by Shakespeare. This
perspective on Caesar indeed makes achieving the crown of Rome seem to be his top ambition, which
brings the next imagery device used in the play forward; a crown.
William Shakespeare uses the device of a royal crown to portray Caesar s quest for ambition through
false humility. In the middle of Act One, it states that Julius Caesar was offered a crown thrice by
Mark Antony and that he put it by thrice, every time gentler than other; and at every putting by mine
honest neighbors shouted. (I, ii, 228 230) This could make Caesar appear to be a humble man, who

  • 2. Prescription Over Counter Drugs Essay Prescription and over the counter drugs. If you asked the vast majority of people in the US if there a problem with more of the well known prescription and over the counter drugs they would tell you no. Take ibuprofen for example, many people think that this drug is absolutely safe with only a very small chance of it harming you in any way. But just last year the FDA has strengthen the warning on all NSAID s. NSAID s stand for non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, and ibuprofen lands in that category. While many people don t take medicine that say ibuprofen many you might be taking something like Motrin or Advil, and these to fall into the category of NSAID s. The fact that there is a very small amount of education on this subject surprises me. Many people know that abusing the big drugs like cocaine, heroin and methamphetamines, but a small minority of people actually understands the risk of prescription drug abuse. I am not talking about the prescription only drugs but the over the counter drugs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Based on a study done by the university of Michigan out of the ten most used drugs by 12th grade students in American pharmaceuticals take five of those ten spots. Furthermore; The drug that takes the third spot on that top ten list is a very know and readily available drug, and it is one of the most diagnosed mental disorders among teens; ADHD. The drug that most psychiatrists to help with ADHD is Adderall. This drug is the 3rd most abused drug among teens in the 12th grade. The problem is not these drugs themselves but it s the under education with these drugs in America. These drugs are always considered to be extremely harmless, but there not. These drugs are not harmless; in fact, they are extremely underestimated in their destructive powers. This also include or most used and beloved over the counter drugs that some of us use every ... • 3. The Pros And Cons Of Pigeonholing I have decided that since I am attempting to organize my thoughts into coherent and accordant arguments, it is easier if each topic is framed as a question I can directly answer. The potential downside of this approach is that I risk at making my responses too simplistic, forcing myself to take a side. However, I am cognizant of that risk, and reserve the right to look at the potential answers to each question as lying on a spectrum (or spectrums) of possibilities. I want to be able to focus my topics without pigeonholing my responses. There were a number of topics I considered for my first post. Even the process of brainstorming helped me to categorize areas of interest and relative expertise. Looking at my groupings it is clear that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If there is no objective reality, independent of our interpretation, then what is it we are sensing? Why can separate people from different places and times look at the same thing and come to the same conclusions? The only possible answer here is that there is something constant, objective, and independent of their interpretation that exists. When I look at the night s sky and see the moon, it usually looks light yellowish/cream coloured. Other people with slightly different biology and experiences might see something slightly different, like light green perhaps, but certainly no one sees a rainbow coloured unicorn. If they do, we would rightly conclude that there is something not working properly somewhere. Even beings vastly different from ourselves might see something vastly different than we see, but that would not change the truth that there is a moon there and it is not a rainbow unicorn. Similarly, in my literature classes, I encourage my students to interpret the works for themselves. However, if they want to argue that The Great Gatsby was actually set on Neptune in the year 1734, they have a significant challenge ahead of them. There is a book there with words that have meanings independent of their interpretation. This is the case for all of reality: There is an objective truth there, and we bring our individual interpretations to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Importance Of Horror Films Horror films have slowly but surely become one of the most popular and beloved film genres. Due to the genre s widespread popularity, it would be assumed that there is a clear identified reason that people are so dedicated to this specific industry, but that is not the case. The truth is there are a multitude of reasons. According to Maggie McCutcheon s Too Disturbing, Too Shocking , one reason for horror movies is it allows the viewer to be scared without the fear of mortal doom following them out of the theater. Because horror films have many purposes, and this purpose is stated by many, this paper will discuss the importance that conquering the fear of the supernatural plays in the success of horror movies. One purpose of horror films is to allow the audience to confront the fear of the supernatural. Many experts that are succeeding in both the creation and study of horror films have deemed this as one of the most common reasons that today s society has so heavily gravitated toward the genre. In Stanley Solomon s The Nightmare World , he concurs with Dirks claim and believes that one of the biggest purposes horror films serve is to conqueror fears. In this article, Solomon observes that there are suppressed fears within every individual that need to be conquered (Soloman 796). These fears need to be defeated so that people are not consumed and over run by a seemingly irrational fear (Dirks 1). The Horror films supply a more than adequate environment for ... • 5. Advantages And Disadvantages Of China In The 19th Century Throughout history, China was viewed as one of the superpowers and its economic strength and influence on other nations were vastly significant. Some say that China is becoming a center of the world economically and militarily, however, during the 19th century, Chinese people actually believed that China was the center the world and it was quite true. China experienced great benefits of being a superior country than other countries, but later they faced some problems or disadvantages of being an enemy against all the other nations, especially the West. In the early 19th century, China was considered as the center of the world. Its massive production of manufactured goods (tea, porcelain, furniture, etc) and excessive wealth led to explorations during the Ming dynasty. Emperor Chengzu sent an explorer, Zheng He, to explore and observe through the Middle East, India, and Africa. Zheng He s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... China and Britain traded goods, but one can say that it was almost China selling not trading . China exported vast amount of goods to Britain, but at the same time, China refused to import nearly any goods from Britain. This was problematic, it led to the Britain s proposal of opening more ports in China which caused Qianlong Emperor to write a letter that condescended the British King. This slowly angered the British people and it eventually worsen the relationship between China and Britain. Few decades later, bad trade relationship led to outbreak of war called, the Opium War. At first, it was only some smugglers who brought opium in China illegally, but later the poisonous drug affected citizens working abilities and Chinese society. In order to stop British merchants from smuggling in opium, Lin Zexu wrote a letter to Queen Victoria. • 6. Intestones Research Paper A rumbling, growling stomach can be a source of embarrassment. Borborygmi sounds seem much louder to those experiencing the sounds. However, most of these noises are inaudible. When awake, intestines rhythmically move as the walls contract and relax to mix food with fluids and move it gently along. The occasional peristaltic wave may be heard as intestinal contents are moved. This is what causes us to hear stomach noises. Borborygmus, a rumbling or gurgling noise made by the movement of fluid and gas in the intestines, is a normal phenomenon that can happen to anyone, anywhere (Dictionary.com, and Hofmeister). Within the intestines, ingested fluids and solids are combined with about eight liters of enzyme rich fluid (IFFGD). Fluid moving through a tube is silent (IFFGD). It is only when there is air that it is audible (IFFGD). In the intestine gases come from swallowed air and the release of hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and some other gases by the bacterial evaporation of undigested food in the lower gut (IFFGD). Even when inaudible to the owner, sounds may be heard by a doctor using a stethoscope (IFFGD). While the movement of fluids and gases occurs at all levels, the most audible sounds come from the stomach (IFFGD). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While transporting partially digested food, air gets shifted too (Hofmeister). This creates sound vibrations (Hofmeister). In the small intestine and stomach, air makes noise like blowing bubbles through a straw (Hofmeister). This air is moving either towards the stomach or toward the buttocks (Hofmeister). Being hungry causes more muscle contractions flare, because the digestive system must clear out remains of the last meal eaten to prepare for the next foods (Hofmeister). • 7. Abrams And Sedition Act Case During times of political unrest and hysteria, the Court seems to allow for more limits on speech if simply because the times host more potential for danger. Take the following example as parallel to Schenck, Abrams, and the circumstances surrounding both. In the 1969 case Brandenburg v. Ohio, the Court abandoned the clear and present danger test, stating that only speech that produces or is likely to produce violent actions or illegal behavior can be banned (Cohen 32). The Court argued a difference between advocacy of ideas and incitement of unlawful conduct exists though the Court did not define it. During this time, the United States was not concerned with being overthrown by insurgents or overcome with hysteria like earlier in the century. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Court, in affirming the judgment of lower courts, deferred to Congress but also redefined the standard to protect future free speech since the times implied more stringent restrictions on speech could follow. Had the Court struck down the ruling, Congress would not have the necessary power to limit speech, and future dangerous speech would go unabated since doing so would create the rule that Congress cannot limit free speech. Rather than create this rule, the Court created a new standard by which to measure the ability of Congress to curb free speech on a case by case basis. This new standard, which more broadly protects free speech, has evolved over time, as evident in Abrams, Brandenburg, and Holder. The ability to evolve over time and to apply to different cases in lower courts highlights Holmes idea that rights were established by society and balanced by the needs of the society, according to blah blah, and thus reflects an inherent legitimacy. Again, having this standard and the ability to choose to use it or not allows the Court to reflect the necessities of society, thereby aligning more closely to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Pope Pius XII and the Jews Essay The twentieth century was marked by genocides on an monstrous scale. One of the most terrible was the Holocaust wrought by Nazi Germany, which killed an estimated six million European Jews and almost as many other victims. During this dark time, the Catholic Church was shepherded by Pope Pius XII, who proved himself an untiring foe of the Nazis, determined to save as many Jewish lives as he could. Yet today Pius XII gets almost no credit for his actions before or during the war. Anti Catholic author Dave Hunt writes, quot; The Vatican had no excuse for its Nazi partnership or for its continued commendation of Hitler on the one hand and its thunderous silence regarding the Jewish question on the other hand. . . . The Germans were likewise displeased with the reigning pontiff, Pius XI, who showed himself to be a unrelenting opponent of the new German quot;ideals quot; even writing an entire encyclical, Mit Brennender Sorge (1937), to condemn them. When Pius XI died in 1939, the Nazis abhorred the prospect that Pacelli might be elected his successor. Dr. Joseph Lichten, a Polish Jew who served as a diplomat and later an official of the Jewish Anti Defamation League of B nai B rith, writes: quot;Pacelli had obviously established his position clearly, for the Fascist governments of both Italy and Germany spoke out vigorously against the possibility of his election to succeed Pius XI in March of 1939, though the cardinal secretary of state had served as papal nuncio in Germany from 1917 to 1929. . . . The day after his election, the Berlin Morgenpost said: The election of cardinal Pacelli is not accepted with favor in Germany because he was always opposed to Nazism and practically determined the policies of the Vatican under his predecessor. quot; [4] Former Israeli diplomat and now Orthodox Jewish Rabbi Pinchas Lapide states that Pius XI quot;had good reason to make Pacelli the architect of his anti Nazi policy. • 10. Free Speech Limitations Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. s words ring true in the vast majority of the population of America. According to Associated Press National Constitution Center Poll, which was featured on the Washington Post, stated that 70 percent of all Americans believe that freedom of speech should mean that people should have the right to say what they believe in, even if they take positions that seem deeply offensive to most people. Based on the supporting evidence from the AP National Constitution Center Poll, the majority of Americans are agreeing with the idea of freedom of speech. They are confident that we as Americans deserve to speak on what we strongly believe in, regardless of the highly offensive words that most people seem to be repulsive to. Many Americans have also realized that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Free speech was, and still is included in a free society. Considering the fact that a free society depends on a lot of basic things, in which free speech is one of them. Free speech is the foundation that America was built on, the evidence supports this claim because of the fact that the document of the first amendment was written based on free speech. In addition, It s a crucial role because of the fact that we as citizens have a voice to condemn the negative things in our society, in which we live in. As a result, we are always reconstructing and making freedom of speech our necessary rule. Therefore, it s a top priority for a free society to have, and will always keep. As Ayaan Hirsi Ali states, Free speech is the bedrock of liberty and a free society. and yes, it includes the right to blaspheme and offend. This obviously justifies that free speech is an essential component of a free society. Born in the poverty stricken village of Romagna, Italy, he was wild, nomadic, and defiant as a young adult lived the life of a bum. Showing fierce aggression at such a young age, he was expelled from two schools for knife assaults on other students. His father a village blacksmith and his mother a schoolmistress, he lived life in poverty that seemed inscapable. His expectations for the war, was the collapse of society that would bring him to power. His socialist comrades were enraged by his article committing Socialist support to Italy s entry into the World War. Just years earlier he had been protesting Italy s entry in war. Called up for military service, he was wounded and returned in 1917. In 1919 he founded the facist di combattimento, which in 1921 became the Italian Facist party. With facist party backing and Mussolini s own tactics he rose to power between 1919 and 1922. Mussolini entered parliament in 1921 as a right wing member. The Fascisti formed armed squads to boss around Mussolini s former Socialist colleagues. The Italian government rarely interfered. In return for the support of a group of industrialists, Mussolini gave his approval to strikebreaking, and he abandoned revolutionary disturbance. When the liberal governments of others had failed to stop the spread of anarchy, King Victor Emmanuel III invited Mussolini to form a coalition government in 1922. With the support of the Liberals in parliament, he introduced strict censorship and altered the methods of election so that in 1925 1926 he was able to assume dictatorial powers and end all other political parties. • 12. The Active Participation Of The People Regarding Political... Arian Rahmi Dr. David Fisk Political Science 101 14 January 2015 Final Examination The active participation of the people regarding their political culture is paramount to the durability and vitality of their regime. That is, a population that fosters a positive spirit in support of their government and ardently engages mutually within it will ultimately support a sturdy democracy. Furthermore, a democracy standing on the virtues of trust and civic engagement within its people will be able to stand tall and powerful because it s people will be able to cooperate to essentially get more accomplished. To begin, the primary element that defines a strong democracy is social capital. Social capital is defined as, ...features of social organization, such as trust, norms, and networks, that can improve the efficiency of society by facilitating coordinated actions, (Putnam 167). Putnam posits a very effective example concerning social capital: ...a group whose members manifest trustworthiness and place extensive trust in one another will be able to accomplish much more than a comparable group lacking that trustworthiness and trust, (Putnam 167). In this example he highlights the importance of a relationship built around trust and how it lends itself to getting more accomplished. Through social capital, there is a spontaneous cooperation within the people. Spontaneous cooperation emphasizes the value of trust, and the importance of being both reliable and honest as a ... • 13. Eastern Wolf Essay An Analysis of Eastern Wolves Being a Species Distinct from Grey Wolves and Coyotes Evolutionary origins of the eastern wolves have been a topic of debate among scientists and conservationists for many years, whether their evolution is independent of grey wolves and coyotes. Currently, eastern wolves are mainly identified as a subspecies of Grey wolves or as a hybrid, resulting from interbreeding between grey wolves and coyotes. Following the genotypic cluster species concept, this paper identifies eastern wolves (Canis Lycaon) as a distinct species because they show little similarities in genomic data with the gray wolves and coyotes and carry Y chromosome haplotypes that are unique to eastern wolves only. provides evidence that eastern wolf is a separate species by comparing the genotypes of stimulated gray wolf x coyote hybrids to the genotype of eastern wolves observed in the Algonquin Provincial Park. The author uses PCA to convert the obtained genome wide SNP data into two dimensional cluster plot. Airborne sound and Impact sound. Airborne sound is vibrations generated from a source, like speech and loudspeakers, which is then transmitted through the air. These vibrations cannot go through a floor. However, they do cause vibrations within them, which cause the air on the other side of the floor to vibrate. It is these vibrations that cause the sound. The way to reduce these vibrations is to increase the mass of the floor. Therefore, concrete has a better sound resistance than timber. • 21. Film Reflection On The Film Shottas Introduction For this assignment, I decided to reflect on the film Shottas . The film begins in the streets of Kingston, Jamaica home of Biggs and Wayne, the two main characters. They lived within a very dangerous and violent town, which drove them into their own violent lifestyle. As young men, how the movie starts off, they rob the local drug dealers of a gun for a premeditated robbery. The money allowed for them to purchase visas to come to Miami, Florida. While in the United States, as adults, the two continue their criminal activities leading them to be deported back to their home in Jamaica. Mad Max and Wayne, who was deported years before Biggs made his return, had already formed a striving extortion business. Wayne made it mandatory for all businesses in the Kingston area to pay money to operate there, or they will be killed. The Jamaica Police did not like Wayne or his Shoota crew, after the gruesome public murder the police then killed Wayne s brother. Later, the Congressmen offered to renew Wayne, Biggs, and Mad Max s visa to get them out of the country. Happily back in Miami, the three men aim to becoming the top drug dealers of the city, by extorting the new top drug dealer, Teddy. As they raise to power in Miami, they commit several forms of extortion, murder, and assaults. The film ends in extreme violence leading to the murders of Wayne and Mad Max, in a shootout with Teddy s crew. Biggs then murders Teddy and his girlfriend, while getting away with all his money and escapes. Scanning This movie has a lot to do with organized crime and how organizations typically build their way up to it. In the beginning, Biggs and Wayne were just acting as partners in low leveled criminal activities, however, with age came more discipline and a striving criminal organization named Shottas . The film focuses on different organized crimes, yet for this paper the focus will be on extortion. Extortion is, the act of obtaining property of another through threats of future harm. High Intensity Interval Training ( Hiit ) INTRODUCTION: High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is known as one method to treat Cardiovascular Diseases (CD), such as Coronary Arterial Disease (CAD) and Heart Failure (HF), due to its potential to improve cardio respiratory fitness (1, 15). This exercise format is characterized as aerobic exercise performed in a high intensity usually controlled by either maximum oxygen uptake or maximum heart rate with active and low intensity. Performing exercise in high intensities mixed with active rest allows patients to tolerate a higher effort before they become tired. Heart failure patients present a diminished exercise capacity, due to a smaller Ejection Fraction (EF), which tells us how well the heart pumps blood to body. To these patients, High Intensity Interval Training has been reported for improving Systolic Function due to the increased effort in which the heart is working (16). The necessity to provide nutrients through circulation during exercise leads to an increased contractility and consequently LV Remodeling (15). Coronary Arterial Disease Patients have a decreased blood flow to the myocardial tissue due to an obstruction inside the coronary arteries. HIIT increases the arteriovenous O2 difference, which means there is an elevated consumption of oxygen by the tissues as result of a higher stroke volume. All those benefits have been shown in the literature, but most of the studies present data with short term interventions. A few studies discuss the benefits ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Importance Of Teacher Attrition In Education Twenty three percent of teachers leave the teaching profession during their first five years of teaching (Elisa Shernoff, Ane Marín ̃ ez Lora, Stacy Frazier, Lara Jakobsons, Marc Atkins, Deborah Bonner, 2011, p. 465). Teaching has been a career before writing was established, however there has never been such a high attrition rate in teaching. Attrition is defined as a reduction in workforce without firing of personnel, as when workers resign or retire and are not replaced (CITATION Dictionary .com). While the current flow of students training to become teachers is still strong, novice teachers do not find enough encouragement in their first few years of teaching to remain in the profession. Instead, their experiences cause them to feel discouraged and disrespected to the point that they do not believe that teaching is where they belong. This crisis regarding education sustainability needs to be redefined to include the sustainability of teachers. Sustaining future education relies on creating and hiring teachers who enjoy being part of a learning environment. The use of student teaching, teacher collaboration, and less mandated learning goals can lower the teacher attrition rate and sustain education. Apart from the verbal meanings, the dynamic of this song is soft at the beginning, but when it comes to the chorus, which is the part of my favorite lyrics, it becomes stronger. I think it suit very well with my perception of maternal love, at first, it was like a mother treating her baby, and even how the baby has grown up to be an adult, the feelings of being loved and concerned by mother bring sense of security and stability. When it comes to the chorus, the dynamic and the singer s volume turn louder, as if the emotion and the love from mother become ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. The Benefits Of Foreign Language Verbal language is how the human race communicates. Without it, nations would be severed from the worldly ties it needs to survive. A hundred years ago language loss wasn t a concern, but now, it threatens the world. There is a great urgency for plurilingual people amongst the military, political, business, and international world, particularly in the U.S. If efforts are not taken to increase foreign language capabilities amongst the people of America, the future of cross cultural communication will be grim. Foreign language understanding is crucial in society, and so a greater effort should be taken to educate the students of America for the benefit of globalization. In the United States, foreign language study is in huge decline. In the past, the U.S. has attempted foreign language study. In fact, 100 years ago the United States foreign language study was roughly similar to Europe s foreign language study (King). But, after the United States entered World War I... almost half the U.S. states criminalized the teaching of German or other foreign languages in schools (King). This was because the United States was nervous that German speakers could transmit secret war information. Now, over the decades, foreign language study has plateaued, especially in the U.S. In fact, in some states, fewer than 10 percent of students are learning languages other than English, painting a grim picture of foreign language education in U.S. public schools (Mitchell). The young students of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Improving Informed Consent My research question is how to improve the informed consent process in the most effective method? Improve it so that the patient s comprehension of information conveyed in that process is higher This question might seem very simple yet the answer is far from simple. In the first article Improving understanding in the research informed consent process: A systematic review of 54 interventions tested in randomized control trials it goes in depth on the different intervention designed to improve the informed consent process for patients and which of these interventions yielded the best results. The researcher s purpose was to analyze previously tested interventions to find out which increased the level of understanding for patients when it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I could say the second article strengthen the findings of the first by demonstrating the finding in a controlled study that has been proven to be effective. In addition, each of these studies shares a similar message, but the method in which they go about demonstrating that message is very different. The first uses a collection of previously testes interventions to analyze and conclude the common findings of these interventions. Well the second research article is a study whose purpose wasn t to demonstrate an effective improvement, but test a hypothesis to the level of consent people of different races, ethnicities and genders give toward the use of their genetic sample. In a way it was indirectly using the method that research article one state was best practices of informed consent (Pg. 5). The article main agreement is in the method they used to get the highest level of consent from the patients. They disagree in that articles have different objective and they claim different result were the reason behind their findings. Article two includes trust as being a contributing factor to their result, while article to claim that the enhanced consent forms are the main contributes to getting high levels of consent. The article seems to mismatch in that the participant they used are very different. The first article used data with no clue to who the participants were and the second article uses participants with a drug history, which makes their data very unreliable when compared to another study of healthy ... • 35. Elon Musk And Its Impact On The Planet Within every generation, there are some individuals who transcend expectations and seek to innovate beyond all preconceived boundaries. Elon Musk is one of those individuals, and he s currently valued at $11.9 billion. But how did this South African born entrepreneur make his way into virtually every technological industry on the planet? How did he become the space traveling, futuristic car selling, loudmouthed computer genius we all know today? Elon Musk took an interest in computing and innovation from a very young age. By his thirteenth birthday, he had already taught himself programming, constructed a complex space themed computer game, and sold it to a large corporation. After moving to the United States and earning a bachelor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And if that wasn t enough already, Musk refused to take a steady job at a company, but rather build his own. He completely ignored the fact that eight out of ten new businesses fail within their first five years (Forbes) in other words, that the odds were not in his favor. But the notions of progress, innovation and wild success were so pivotally important to Musk that he truly felt that this was his calling. He and his brother Kimbal soon created Zip2, an Internet software product that allowed newspapers to create city guides for their readers. After four years of expansion, including contracts with The New York Times, Musk and his associates sold the company for a whopping $307 million. At just 28, he was already a millionaire on his way to defying even more odds and pursuing important goals. I always invest my own money in the companies that I create. I don t believe in the whole thing of just using other people s money. I don t think that s right. I m not going to ask other people to invest in something if I m not prepared to do so myself. Musk never half committed or submitted to being unsure. After his success with Zip2, he invested virtually all of the money he had earned into his next venture, this time focusing on online payment services. While many questioned his logic, Musk subsequently succeeded in merging with a company who would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Imagery Usage in Shakespeare´s Julius Caesar What comes to mind when one thinks of Romans ? Power, dominion, or even greatness could describe these noble people. The Romans were arguably one of the most powerful civilizations in history, so how could a people of such greatness come to such ruin? Power is a dangerous privilege for any worldly nation to possess, and when mixed with a scandalous concoction of greed and corruption, could spell the end of an entire civilization. Julius Caesar showcases Shakespeare s own interpretation concerning the demise of Rome s most famous leader. This play spotlights various examples of imagery to help the audience understand the author s interpretation of this historical tragedy. Imagery is a kind of figurative language used to help the reader ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It could be that Caesar has become barren, not Calpurnia, which could create problems if Ceasar were to assume a throne; he would be unable to produce an heir. So what could one see under this new perspective? Perhaps Julius Caesar s actions were directed to make himself king after all, and thus making him seem like a more power hungry figure in the story. If Caesar was indeed seeking the throne as the conspirators claimed, wouldn t it be important to him that he would have a successor? Perhaps William Shakespeare was trying to convey the image that Caesar is not the flawless leader he seems to think he is. In this situation, barrenness becomes an important piece of imagery to help the reader view Julius Caesar in the underlying image possibly understood by Shakespeare. This perspective on Caesar indeed makes achieving the crown of Rome seem to be his top ambition, which brings the next imagery device used in the play forward; a crown. William Shakespeare uses the device of a royal crown to portray Caesar s quest for ambition through false humility. In the middle of Act One, it states that Julius Caesar was offered a crown thrice by Mark Antony and that he put it by thrice, every time gentler than other; and at every putting by mine honest neighbors shouted. (I, ii, 228 230) This could make Caesar appear to be a humble man, who feels ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
