1. Manpower Planning 
Forecasting and determination 
of the manpower requirements of 
the organization.
Manpower Planning is divided into 
two: 
1. Qualitative Analysis (Job Analysis): 
Job analysis is a study of job content to 
determine human requirements 
i. Job Description: is the study of the job 
duties and responsibilities to determine human 
abilities required for execution 
ii. Job Specification: is the study of the 
minimum acceptable human qualities necessary to 
perform a job properly
2. Quantitative Analysis 
It means to ensure a fair number 
of personnel in each department 
and at each level
2. Recruitment 
Identification of different 
sources of personnel and 
stimulating them to apply for 
jobs in the organization
3. Selection 
Process of choosing and 
appointing the right persons for 
various jobs
4. Placement & Orientation 
Placement refers to putting the right person on the right 
job. Orientation means introducing every selected 
employee to his fellow employees
5. Training 
Activities intended to 
improve knowledge, skill and 
attitudes of managers and 
employees
6. Performance appraisal 
It is a systematic way of 
evaluating a worker’s performance 
and his potential for development
7. Promotions 
Promotion means movement of an 
employee from his present job to a 
job which is better in terms of status 
or prestige.
8. Compensation 
A compensation plan that is fair 
and equitable to all employees, has to 
be designed with due consideration 
for work involved and skills required.

  • 5. 1. Manpower Planning Forecasting and determination of the manpower requirements of the organization.
  • 6. Manpower Planning is divided into two: 1. Qualitative Analysis (Job Analysis): Job analysis is a study of job content to determine human requirements i. Job Description: is the study of the job duties and responsibilities to determine human abilities required for execution ii. Job Specification: is the study of the minimum acceptable human qualities necessary to perform a job properly
  • 7. 2. Quantitative Analysis It means to ensure a fair number of personnel in each department and at each level
  • 8. 2. Recruitment Identification of different sources of personnel and stimulating them to apply for jobs in the organization
  • 9. 3. Selection Process of choosing and appointing the right persons for various jobs
  • 10. 4. Placement & Orientation Placement refers to putting the right person on the right job. Orientation means introducing every selected employee to his fellow employees
  • 11. 5. Training Activities intended to improve knowledge, skill and attitudes of managers and employees
  • 12. 6. Performance appraisal It is a systematic way of evaluating a worker’s performance and his potential for development
  • 13. 7. Promotions Promotion means movement of an employee from his present job to a job which is better in terms of status or prestige.
  • 14. 8. Compensation A compensation plan that is fair and equitable to all employees, has to be designed with due consideration for work involved and skills required.
