SPTechCon Boston 2013 - Introduction to Security in Microsoft Sharepoint 2013...AntonioMaio2
This document provides an overview of security features in Microsoft SharePoint 2013, beginning with an introduction and goal to educate about key security capabilities. It then covers an agenda of topics like deployment planning, authentication, permissions, governance and various other security features. It emphasizes the importance of security and recommends best practices like using separate accounts for setup, farm administration and SQL services with least privileges. It also highlights risks of inadvertent data exposure if anonymous access is not properly configured for public-facing SharePoint sites.
Governance of SharePoint 2010 involves three main areas: IT governance of the software and services, application governance of custom solutions, and information management governance of content. Successful IT governance includes defining services and policies, tracking installations, keeping software updated, and governing customizations. Information management governance determines how information is organized, who can access it, and tools for content management. Different types of sites may require different governance policies depending on their importance to the organization.

Best Practices for Security in Microsoft SharePoint 2013AntonioMaio2
This document discusses best practices for security in Microsoft SharePoint 2013. It recommends using specific managed accounts with least privileges for SQL Server, installing and configuring SharePoint, and running the SharePoint farm. Web application policies allow controlling permissions and access across an entire web application. Public websites require carefully configuring anonymous access and locking down access to _layouts pages and web services. Other security features discussed include information rights management, auditing, and privileged users.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
CAKE: Sharing Slices of Confidential Data on BlockchainClaudio Di Ciccio
Presented at the CAiSE 2024 Forum, Intelligent Information Systems, June 6th, Limassol, Cyprus.
Synopsis: Cooperative information systems typically involve various entities in a collaborative process within a distributed environment. Blockchain technology offers a mechanism for automating such processes, even when only partial trust exists among participants. The data stored on the blockchain is replicated across all nodes in the network, ensuring accessibility to all participants. While this aspect facilitates traceability, integrity, and persistence, it poses challenges for adopting public blockchains in enterprise settings due to confidentiality issues. In this paper, we present a software tool named Control Access via Key Encryption (CAKE), designed to ensure data confidentiality in scenarios involving public blockchains. After outlining its core components and functionalities, we showcase the application of CAKE in the context of a real-world cyber-security project within the logistics domain.
