Magnet Recognition Essay
The Magnet Recognition Magnet recognition is a performance recognition that was started by the
American Nurses Credentialing Center (Drenkard, 2010). The recognition is awarded to facilities who
have applied and met the requirements (Magnet Recognition and Pathway to Excellence, 2018). The
goals of the Magnet recognition are to improve positive patient outcomes while also providing an
environment which promotes growth and safety for the nurses (Magnet Recognition and Pathway to
Excellence, 2018). The opportunities for nurses that are provided by the Magnet recognition are
continued education, promotion of growth by certifications and licenses, recognition of individual
nurses, and staff satisfaction (Magnet Recognition and Pathway to Excellence, ... Show more content

Nurse managers must have at a baccalaureate degree in nursing at the minimum, and they are
responsible for all nurses and other providers in the facility as well as staffing, staff education, budget,
and outcomes (Eligibility Requirements, 2018). Nurses in nurse leader roles must have a baccalaureate
degree in nursing at the minimum (Eligibility Requirements, 2018). Nurse educators and floor nurses
are two examples of nurse leaders who report to the CNO (Eligibility Requirements, 2018) The
facility must implement and encourage patient and staff feedback (Eligibility Requirements, 2018).
Staff should not fear retaliation with feedback especially when it is regarding the work environment
and patient care (Eligibility Requirements, 2018). Some facilities use survey cards and online
questionnaires for patient feedback. However, there are some staff and patient concerns which may
need to be handled earlier than feedback is normally

The Code Of Ethical Conduct
Ethics in research are ideally the norms or the morals every person should adhere to when conducting
research. In essence, ethics in research entails conducting research in a way that the method or
procedure employed, the purpose of the research and the way one publishes his or her research
findings adheres or exemplifies good conduct. This alludes to the notion that moral rules and
professionalism extends to even the collection of research objects, analysis of the same, and
publication of gathered information about the research objects for purposes of distributing to third
parties.
Generally, ethical standards even in other aspects of life tend to be ungoverned by law and only
observed by individuals through their conscience ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of them is that the researchers should not have been forced into the research. They should be
undertaking it free from undue pressure. This principle, otherwise referred to as principle of voluntary
participation, will ensure the autonomy of the participants which is a very vital element in the process
of research. Another principle is that the research should be of such a value that it outweighs the
potential risks or probable harm that the researchers will face. Also, the participants should be
sufficiently informed in regards to all aspects of the research. (Apa.org, 2015)
In essence, ethics in research are of great significance. Firstly, it promotes the purpose of the research.
Different researches are conducted for different purposes and for different audiences. In the world of
academics, ethics in research are key in promoting the research s objective. The findings of the
research becomes more reliable and the researcher comes off as one with dignity and integrity. This
also helps to create a good relationship between the researcher and the consumers of his or her
academic work or also if the research was intended for an academic assignment, the researcher s
credibility is enhanced. (Deakin.edu.au, 2015) More often than not, a research that is guided by ethics
will have its purpose based on good deeds. These deeds includes academic purposes such undertaking
assignments, correcting an erroneous piece of information,

The Importance Of Somaliland In The United States
Thurgood Marshall said, In recognizing the humanity of our fellow beings, we pay ourselves the
highest tribute. Perhaps us senators need to take in his advice in recognizing Somaliland. Affirmation
of Somaliland is crucial because the encouragement of African action should not become the basis for
inaction on the part of the United States. Jendayi Frazer, in her report on Somaliland: Time for African
Union Leadership, states that the United States would recognize Somaliland if the others acted first.
But Somaliland deserves recognition from a purely U.S. centric national security perspective. The
United States has always stood to protect the values that it was founded upon. Somaliland, in its
entirety fits this impression. The Somaliland government and population embody a moderate voice in
the Muslim world that rejects radical interpretations of Islam, including that espoused by the Council
of Somali Islamic Courts currently in control. It would serve as a bulwark against the further
expansion of radical ideologies in the Horn of Africa by offering a brilliant case of how ... Show more

According to professor Peter Schraeder, Recognition of Somaliland, would serve as a powerful lesson
for other countries within the region of the benefits associated with the creation and consolidation of
democratic systems of governance. Somaliland would, thus, become a model to emulate. From
recognizing Somaliland, the United States would be undertaking a proactive policy in support of a
moderate, Muslim democracy. In comparison, by not recognizing the state, we would be keeping the
status quo in Somalia, which would not only prolong the human suffering there, but also, increase the
spreading radicalism and chaos that could engulf the region entirely. In this scenario, diplomatic
recognition for Somaliland would be unjustly denied and would further delay opportunity for
investment, trade and economic

IDS Financial Services Case Study
Situational Analysis Introduction: IDS Financial Services operate in the consumer financial service
industry. After the acquisition by American Express in 1984 the company went through tremendous
growth for three consecutive years in terms of revenue (average 30%), financial plan fees (174%) and
its sales force (annual rate11%). The company was facing new challenges as to how to maintain this
30 percent growth rate in the market place where the competition was increasing day by day. The
consumer financial industry is growing very fast which creates new opportunities to be exploited.
With this the competition is also growing as the competitors are becoming more and more aggressive
in marketing and selling their products. Now the company ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To achieve the target of 30% growth in revenues one of the options with Saunders is to expand his
Sales force. This expansion plan might be curbed internally as it goes against the other key objective
of reducing cost. Saunders would have to put across this expansion as an investment and not a cost.
He should also reiterate the fact that IDS competitors are doubling their sales force. Saunders would
probably face a challenge to change the complex salary structure of the planners as well. It is critical
that this complex structure be simplified and the remuneration benefits be clearly shown (to the sales
force) if Saunders has to curb attrition (attrition rates being high the expected growth might not be
possible). He might face a hurdle in this regard due to the fact that a complex system would have been
put in place to handle all the paper work e.g. there are 150 different commission schedules but general
repulsion to change in the workplace would be a hurdle. Here, Saunders could emphasize that keeping
the sales force is all important especially since: Big players like Merrill Lynch have also started
operating in the middle market and IDS has to consolidate its position there. This is possible only with
a trained retainable work force. If IDS has to target the higher market of high net worth individuals
where it has a smaller presence, then retaining trained personnel is all the more important The fact that
this investment would help

The Categories Of Oral Tradition In The Umudike Community
Oral tradition presupposes a body of largely unwritten prose, poetry and drama (Kur; 2007). Some of
the oral tradition include myths, stories, legends, folk tales proverbs, riddles, etc. (Okoye, 2002: 93).
Categories of poetry as oral tradition consist of elegies, religious and lyric pieces, and work of chants,
topical and political songs, panegyrics, children s songs and rhymes. On the other hand satire,
ritualism, masquerades, could be seen as drama aspect of oral tradition.
Basic characteristics of oral tradition are that much of it is in oral form, and transmitted from one
generation to another. In other not to lose some of the forms, some scholars and authors have started to
document them and put them in written forms. Performers celebrate genre of oral literature, they are
artists of special sort. The poet, the dramatist, skillful narrator of folktales, myths or legends qualifies
as performer (Kur; 2007: 34), performers require power of rhetoric to give strength to oral tradition.

Malcolm X Message Of Roots Speech Analysis
Would you think somebody murder was justified getting brutally killed in front of friends and family?
The assassination of Malcolm X was unjust because he was a civil right leader he also was the leader
for the nation and Islam. However other believed that he promoted violence. Malcolm x was a civil
right leader who wanted to do anything to fight for justice in the black community .On December, 10,

In this speech, Malcom shows how dedicated he is about making an improvement in the black

he goes and say as I quote him saying usually, when people are sad, they just cry over their condition
but when they get angry they bring about a change{ Malcolm x December,10,1963 page 2] . This is
example how x try to encourage people to stand for what they believe in and also to fight for justice

Captain Beatty s The Brothers Karamazov
Captain Beatty put the fire down. This is not a book that you, sir, want to burn; we have too much to
learn from it. The book The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky is about three brothers and
their lives before their killing of their father and the aftermath of the killing of their father. Why you,
Beatty, can t burn this book is because it has an amazing message behind it. After reading the book I
feel like it teaches the reader forgiveness. Forgiveness is a big part of the book, from the time the
brothers forgive their dad for walking out on them at birth to the time Koyla forgiving Ilusha for
almost killing as stray dog. As I read this book at each scenario where it showed forgiveness I was

Disadvantages Of Technology
Have you ever wondered what STEM stands for? Well, if your curious, it means science, technology,
engineering, and mathematics. Wondering what these words mean? OK well, Science is were the
intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of
the physical and natural world through observation and experiment. Science is used for many things
like discovering lots of different things, finding new sicknesses, and curing cancer. Technology, the
application of scientific knowledge for practical, especially in industry. You use technology for many
different things. You can use it for launching rockets into outer space! Keep your home safe and make
sure no robbers or intruders break into your house. Without technology, this planet would be a little
off, we couldn t send Neil Armstrong to the moon, or let Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 sing their
awesome music. Technology helps use in our everyday social lives, sure technology can be bad in
ways, for example texting someone while driving a car or different vechical. You don t want to ever
over use technology! According to Junior Thorpe For decades, studies of indicated that spending
significant time parked in front of a screen whether it s a TV, computer or tablet lowers cardiovascular
health outcomes and increases mortality risk. And the unfortunate thing about this that exercising
doesn t do anything to help. But at certain times using phones and other technology can really help,
you can call the doctor s office when you re sick so you know what sickness you have. You can call or
text friends and family when they are sick or need a little help and stay in touch with them.
Engineering, the branch of science and technology concerned with the design, building, and use of
engines, machines, and structures work done by, or the occupation of, an engineer. Engineering really
helps in our everyday lives because without engineering we wouldn t have homes, schools, offices,
fire stations, or ice cream shops! But most important we wouldn t be able to drive to ours friends
birthday parties or go to family reunions. Engineering helps use fly to fun places like Hawaii,

Self Portrait In A Straw Hat Essay
The two paintings which will be compared and contrasted are entitled Woman with a hat by Henri
Matisse and Self portrait in a Straw Hat by Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun. Both of these artists have used
the portraiture as a subject and have chosen painting as their art form and oils on canvas as their
medium. However, each of these artist s interpretation of their artwork is very different. Matisse has
concentrated on colours as he has applied a mixture of brilliant colour all across his subjects face, hat,
dress and even the background, whereas Vigee Le Brun has focused on showing extreme reality in
order to demonstrate her painting skills which will be explored further.
Each artist has used a different style in their painting. Vigee Le Brun ... Show more content on

Both portraits are paintings that include a woman and a hat. Though Matisses art is a portrait of his
wife while Le Brun is painting portrait of herself. In each of these portraits the artists have approached
it differently and have different intentions and meanings. Matisses use of bright colours communicate
his painting subjectively and the loose brush strokes made the painting look almost unfinished which
was essentially the artist s move towards an expressive individual style. Matisse is communicating
subjectively as he has used colours not to imitate nature but to produce a reaction in the viewer. The
hat is being used to show that she is an upper class woman. In Matisse s portrait Amelia is holding a
fan which is seemingly important as it s used to show mood, while in Le Brun s self portrait she is
holding a paint palette. The hat is important to the painting as in fact it is the main purpose of his
painting. As the painting is entitled, Woman with a Hat . Le Brun s self portrait represents how she s
painting it in the first place straight up. Hence, she is trying to communicate and put things in the
painting to give clues about what she s about and what she does for a living subjectively. It is also a
means of representing her physical attributes, self portraiture, her place in society and her style. And
therefore she is subjectively communicating herself. As she was

The Importance Of Nudity In Ancient Greek Historical Art
In the Ancient Greek historical Art, nude male figures were used to depict the beauty of the human
body as well as the new focusing in the evolution of art. The nude first became significant in the art of
ancient Greece, where athletic competitions at religious festivals celebrated the human body,
particularly the male, in an unparalleled way. (Jean) Thus, the social standard of the time in aesthetic,
modesty and morality was reflected in every nudity art work .Nude male figures, in sculptures and
paintings, of warriors, charioteers and musicians had become more and more popular as the symbol of
energy and power of life or were used as the symbol of God, Goddess and Heroes. But nude figures of
Gods and Goddess were no longer allowed by the Christianity in the Renaissance because of
emphasizing on chastity and celibacy further discounted depictions of nakedness (Jean) , nude figures
of athletic were used as an expression of virility as well as the beauty of the human body. Nudity in
the Middle Ages became sinful, therefore, nude figures were rare in the medieval art and the artists
were focusing on creating art about God and Goddess and their power rather than depicting the beauty
of the human body. And by the end of the medieval period, nude female figures intended to be
attractive and slowly brought back into art and became popular again. In the Baroque to Modern art,
nudity still played an important role in art. In the Baroque period, nude art had changed and became

Big 5 Mass Extinction Events In Research
Throughout the lifetime of the Earth, there have been various scientists who have hypothesized
various extinction events. The following essay will cover the five major extinction events, otherwise
known as the Big 5 Mass Extinction Events . According to Wikipedia (2016), a mass extinction is a
widespread and rapid decrease in the amount of life on Earth. Such an event is identified by a sharp
change in the diversity and abundance of multicellular organisms .
The first major extinction event is said to have been the Ordovician Silurian mass extinction, 443
million years ago, which occurred during the end of the Ordovician period, and the start of the Silurian
period (bbc.co.uk, 2014). This is the third largest mass extinction in the Earth s history, and there were
two peak dying times during this period, separated my hundreds of thousands of years. The
Ordovician is characterised by sea life, so creatures such as brachiopods, graptolites and trilobite
populations were severely diminished. An ice age is said to be responsible for the death
(endangerdspeciesinternational.org, 2011).
The Late Devonian mass extinction is well known for having one of the most drastic extinction rates.

coffin was a meteorite strike, near the Yucatan peninsula in Mexico, which caused the most significant
damage. This extinction event is also known as the K/T extinction (bbc.co.uk,

What Is A Victim Of Crime A Failure
These quotations demonstrate that over the past fourteen years the head of State has called for the
government to increase attention to the treatment of victims of crime in England and Wales. This
would imply that the needs of victims of crime have consistently been on the political agenda and that
the system is recognising that improvements need to be made to promote victims interests. What
however is the reality? This essay will explore how an advocate for the criminal justice system (CJS)
would argue that victims of crime are not being failed. It will present the measures taken to improve
the rights and interests of victims. It will discuss the commitment of the Crown Prosecution Service
(CPS) to victims by exploring The Prosecutors Pledge . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nils Christie believes that conflicts have been taken away from the parties directly involved. This
view is supported by other academics who have implied that the victims do not have any formal status
in proceedings. It is argued that the effect of this results in the victim being neglected and viewed as
the non person in the eyes of the professional participants . Victims have been compared to a
professional tool at the disposal of the lawyers, judges and court officials which would imply that
cases have been taken by the professionals of the system and that victims have lost participation in
their own cases. It is submitted that this is a transparent failure of the system as victims have lost their
voice and are viewed as subservient to the professionals. It is interesting to compare the current
process with that used in the Anglo Saxon period where an altercation trial took place and the victim
was responsible for prosecuting the offender. Academics have labelled this the golden age of the
victim as the conflict was heard without lawyers, giving the victim a central role. A clear difference
can be seen between the two systems and victims appear to have lost rights which could be concluded
as a failure of the

Cheap Labor Essay
In the twenty first century, it is not a secret that many American companies are actually setting up
factories in foreign countries, with the majority located in Asia. Notable examples of this include
athletic shoe companies such as Nike, Adidas, and Reebok Additionally, most people know the reason
these companies make their products overseas: cheap labor. However, what exactly does the term
cheap labor entail? Moreover, how are international politics and the global economy affected by this
outsourcing? While it may seem like a simple question with a simple answer, the cause of such a
relationship and its effects on international commerce are deeply complex and morally questionable.
The relationship between international politics and offshore athletic shoe production is a surprisingly
complex one. Its origins are in the era of the Cold War, when American shoe companies began moving
their production offshore. Nike closed the last of their factories based in the United States in 1975,
choosing instead to put their factories in the countries that were close allies. While China now
produces one third of all athletic shoes, most athletic shoe factories were located in South Korea from
the seventies through the nineties (Enloe, 272).
Because South Korea and the United States were strong allies during the Cold War, the American
shoes being produced were, in a sense, militarized. The militarization of athletic shoes occured due to
the agreements between the major American shoe

Reflection Paper On The Tazaie Prayer
Taizé Prayer
At the Taizé prayer, the area with the altar and candles was inviting. First the silence for about 10
minutes, then the music played, followed by long pauses for praying and reading the scriptures
together. The prayer around the Jesus cross in the center was about to begin when a person placed the
cross on the ground and next to the cross a pillow for people to kneel and express their burdens. After
about ten minutes, the prayer around the cross continued, but this time the cross was moved to a table.
People freely approached the cross at the table and placed their heads on it or kissed the cross. After a
few more prayers were said aloud, then the final prayer was said followed by a song as the closing.
From this opportunity of praying in a group, I learned about the gifts and challenges of prayer while
reflecting in silence and listening to the meditative music.
The Taizé prayer is an opportunity to reflect on your day or your life and pray with others together.
This was my first time in a Taizé prayer, I have never heard about it before this class. The Taizé prayer
is a different way from how I am used to communicating with God. The prayer is centered on a
worship group that between silence, songs, prayers, and bible readings, people stand up to
acknowledge the cross statue in the center by kneeling in front or kissing the statue. The prayer relates
to Kay Lindahl s contemplative listening or listening in silence to God in Practicing the Sacred Art of

Your dreams won t always take you on a straight path to what we call destiny it is, however, what your

but it will turn you on so bad at the same time. Having to build your dreams and pursue your passion
is a mind blowing adventure. Unexpected things will happen along the way. It might take a very long

Play By Anita Act 2 Analysis
1) Misto motivation to write to play was that five decades the Government was silence about the
Women s incarceration and their horrific experiences inside the prison camps. The fact that the nurses
were not recognised for their contributions in WW2, made Misto more frustrated and motivated to
write the play. He wanted to build a memorial to commemorate the works of the women but did not
have the power to build one, and therefore it he wrote a play instead.
2) The historical context of the play is based on WW2, as the Japanese forces invaded Singapore in
1941. (Which was one of Britain s treasures at the time). Australian and British forces worked together
to fight of the Japanese from advancing. As a result of this war many people were captured by the
Japanese forces and put into POW camps, (especially women and children), where they were tortured
and killed.

Dr. Seuss and How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Theodor Seuss Geisel was a cartoonist, poet, and American writer. He was most widely known for his
children s books written and illustrated as Dr. Seuss. The short film How the Grinch stole Christmas ,
came out in the year 1966. It was made from the original story book that published in 1956 by Dr.
Seuss , (Hutchinson). Grinch, which is the main character of the story. He is labeled as a cruel
scoundrel, who lives a lonely life in his cave north of the village, with no one to mingle with, except
his dog Max. Max the Grinch s dog definitely plays along to his master s shameful tactics. The dog
follows the Grinch around, never letting the viewer s know whether or not he is fully on board with
the Grinch s plans, though we suspect he is not given his long, glum face. Cindy Lou Who only
appears once in the story, who is just a little girl that the Grinch ran into while he was on his mission

Ethics Paper--Bailout
Bailout Ethics
Americans are outraged. Billions of taxpayer dollars were committed last year to rescuing firms such
as Citigroup and the American International Group (AIG). Earlier this year, several companies who
received Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) assistance were awarding top executives with
extravagant bonuses. According to the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. government lent $238 billion in
TARP taxpayer funds to almost 700 banks; 44 of these banks have repaid a $71 billion (Johnston, para
6). There remains $167 billion invested in banks. Some critics argue that a mere $167 billion is not
significant to warrant public indignation against bonuses. However, the issue is not about specific
bonus amounts but the principle of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In another example of applying the Rights Approach to bailout bonuses, AIG tells a different story. In
March 2010, AIG is scheduled to distribute yet another $198 million in bonuses to its financial
products employees largely seen as responsible for the firm s failure (Collins, para 11). This will result
in almost $400 million in bonus payments since receiving government assistance (Collins, para 11).
As mentioned previously, AIG does not have a moral right to these bonuses. It would be similar to
someone taking an elaborate vacation just before filing for bankruptcy and expecting the government
to finance his unnecessary expense.
Common Good Approach: Definition and Analysis
In a globalized world, the Common Good Approach has increased in relevance for judging ethical
behavior. It presents a vision of society as a community whose members are joined in the shared
pursuit of values and goals they hold in common (Markkula, para 12). This Approach calls attention to
the conditions that are important to the common welfare of everyone. The principle states: What is
ethical is what advances the common good (Markkula, para 12). The common goal when considering
the bailout is a stable economy. What remains unanswered is why some financial institutions, such as
JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, were helped with TARP funds while other banks, such as Bear
Stearns and Lehman Brothers, were allowed to

Whether through purchasing massive amounts of advertising for political purposes, or by owning the

totally legal under the constitution.
Media corporations have been merging into fewer (and larger) entities which are better able to control
the flow of information to the public. Because of their size and power, they can prevent unfavorable
coverage of their activities in the media outlets they own. In 1983, 50 corporations controlled the vast
majority of all news media in the U.S. In 1992, fewer than two dozen of these corporations owned and
operated 90% of the mass media; controlling almost all of America s newspapers, magazines, TV and
radio stations, books, records, movies, videos, wire services and photo agencies. Now only 5 huge
corporations Time Warner, Disney, Murdoch s News Corporation, Bertelsmann of Germany, and
Viacom (formerly CBS) now control most of the media industry in the U.S. General Electric s NBC is

Bermuda Triangle Essay
Bermuda Triangle
The Bermuda triangle, or the devil s triangle, is an imaginary area located off the southeastern Atlantic
coast of the United States. It is the greatest modern mystery of our supposedly well understood world.
It is noted for a very high incidence of unexplained losses of ships, small boats, and aircraft. The tips
of the triangle are generally thought to be Bermuda, Miami, Fla., and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Many
theories attempting to explain the many disappearances have been offered throughout the history of
the area. The most practical seem to be environmental and those that involve human error. Some
reports even go as far as to saying that there are UFO s kidnapping ships and planes, and that the lost

Apparently Taylor had become confused at some point in the flight. He was an experienced pilot, but
hadn t spent a lot of time flying east toward the Bahamas, which was where he was going on that day.
For some reason Taylor thought the flight had started out in the wrong direction and had headed south
toward the Keys, instead of east. By 4:45 P.M. it was obvious to the people on the ground that Taylor
was hopelessly lost. He was urged to turn control of the flight over to one of his students, but
apparently he didn t. As it grew dark, communications disappeared. From the few words that did get
through it was apparent Taylor was still flying north and east, the wrong directions. Later on a Dumbo
Flying Boat was dispatched to try and find Flight 19 and guide it back. Within the hour two more
planes, Martin Mariners, joined the search. Not only was Flight 19 never found the Two Martin
Mariners were never found either. (2)
Another mysterious disappearance that is strange to researchers is the SS Marine Sulphur Queen.

The European Parliament and The Notion of a Common...
European Union remembrance policy
This essay will analyse the policies that the European Parliament has introduced to create and endorse
the notion of a common European historical memory. The main institutions that have dealt with the
issue are the European Council, European Parliament s Committee on Culture and Education and the
Directorate General for Internal Policies.
First I shall discuss the reasons behind the necessity for a historical memory in the European context. I
will then give an overview of current European Union practices on establishing a pan European
historical memory and of the existing political initiatives regarding a common European historical
memory. The main emphasis shall be on the Europe for Citizens ... Show more content on

Since the Eastern Enlargement, efforts to keep history alive are supported in particular by the Europe
for Citizens Programme launched in 2006. The European Commission has extended the programme to
2014 2020 , which was presented in 2011. In the renewed programme, there is a greater focus on
remembrance and hence, a critical European culture of remembrance , rather than a standardised view
on Europe s past, is argued for.
2. The development of the Europe for Citizens Programme and the actors involved
The common European values influence the narrative and the creation of a certain culture of
remembrance. In supranational context, the two memory frameworks dominating official EU
discourses for the creation of a common European historical memory are Nazism and Stalinism. These
two regimes and their policies embody an absolute contrast to the ideals embraced in the European
project: peace, freedom, democracy, the rule of law, human rights, civil liberties and the right to
individual self determination. The aim of remembrance policies is an informed and self critical
European historical memory. This is done with shared European principles and universalised practices
as a basis, while acknowledging the multiplicity of different national pasts at the same time. In other
words, it would not be a homogenisation of the contents of different collective memories, but rather a
Europeanisation of moral and political attitudes and practices

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Phased Implementation
What are the disadvantages?
The immediately approach
The shortcomings of the immediately approach are directly opposed to the advantages of a phased
implementation:
Huge peak resources may be required;
Fewer resources will be available for a particular module;
The risk of total system failure may be higher;
You can not easily return to the traditional system;
Staff have less practical ability to acquire knowledge;
Project managers can not show that the system is working, until it is fully installed;
The period between development and implementation can be longer.

Predestination And The Movie Predestination
Predestination
The movie Predestination has presented many great examples of different psychological cases. In the
movie the plot of the story is that a bomber has killed many people and the main character has to go
back in time to stop him. The aftereffects of going back in time multiple occasions is what may be a
leading factor as to what each characters unique disorder may be, but the tiny details on the side is
what reveals the bigger issue. The main characters are easy to breakdown and it s obvious as to what
each ones disorders are.The background of this character is directly unique to the movie as the main
story of the movie is what causes him to develop all of his problems. The movie itself is a paradox and
requires a lot of thought even after seeing it from a third person point of view so the characters
themself face a harder grasp on the reality of what s happening to them.
The movie has three major characters that are unique to themselves and each other. The characters are
all different to each other in many ways such as age, appearances, and even personalities yet they are
crucial to each other at the end of the movie. The first character is a middle aged man named John, the
second character is a younger woman named Jane, and the last character is an older man whose name
is also John. The middle aged man, John, is the time traveling agent mentioned before whereas the
older man named John is the fizzle bomber. The younger woman, Jane, works as a magazine

Treatment Of Phonological Disability Using The Method Of...
Weiner, F. (1981). Treatment of phonological disability using the method of meaningful contrast: Two
case studies. Journal of Speech and Hearing Disorders, 46, 97 103. Purpose: A minimal contrast
method to teaching phonological oppositions is a conceptual, rather than motoric, strategy to suppress
phonological processes. This method was assessed for effectiveness in reducing the frequency of
process use and generalization of treatment effect. Method: Two unintelligible 4 year old children
were confronted with the miscommunication resulting from their misarticulation of a target word
produced as another meaningful word. Four minimal pairs were trained for each targeted process:
deletion of final consonants, stopping, and word initial fronting. Twenty four generalization probes of
non treatment words were assessed for each targeted process. Results: Minimal pairs treatment
procedure was effective in decreasing process use over a short period of time. Several sound
production errors improved concomitantly. Subject A improved more rapidly than subject B.
Generalization to probe words occurred gradually. Clinical Implications: Minimal contrast treatment is
effective and efficient for treating children with phonological disability. Avoiding listener confusion is
motivating for suppressing process use. Word Count: 147 Gierut, J. A. (1990). Differential learning of

In the book of Ephesians 6:13 17 the bible talks about the putting on the full armor of God. In this
verse, the Christians are told to prepare for the spiritual war against the devil and human weaknesses.
Various versions of the bible that talk about the Armor of God. According to the verse, there is the war
against the Christians, and the people are warned against that. We are encouraged to use the Armor as
guidance in the fighting the Satan.
Description of the Armor of God According to St. Paul Ephesians is one of the letters written by St.
Paul while he was in prison. Paul was detained by the Roman army, and during his stay in jail, he
compared the soldier s armor and the spiritual Armor. He tells the Christians about the tactics and
devices that the devil uses against the people of God (2Corinthians 2:11, New International Version)
he talks to the people through this verse about the ways of dealing with the stealthy ways of Satan.
Paul addresses the people on the ways of dealing with this in the book of Ephesians 6:10 20. He
explains to the Ephesians about the wearing the Armor of God. In verse 10 he wrote Finally, my
brethren, be strong in the Lord and the power of His might Paul tries to speak to the Christians about
the ways of guarding themselves against the enemy. His message to the people of God according to
the book of Ephesians, he was encouraging the people not to fear the devil and his plans. He says Put

Public Service And Public Services
Firefighters, police officers, public officials, and health care personnel are some of the first careers
individuals think of when the phrase, public service, is mentioned. Other people think of
philanthropists, teachers, or even nonprofit organizations; however, individuals in these positions are
not the only public servants throughout the world; and in some instances, the same individuals who
serve as your police officers, public officials, or in any public servant position, for that matter, would
not be considered a public servant due to bad outcomes from unethical behaviors. The real questions,
then, are: how to determine the public official that is, in fact, a public servant compared to the one
who is not; how to know what other jobs could be considered a public service and which ones are not;
or how to recognize the actual acts of public service from the phony ones? Questions like these, as
well as others, will be attempted to be answered in this paper, or at least provide a framework to
answer them through the attempt of clarifying what the definition of public service incorporates into
its jurisdiction. In my Foundations of Public Service class, at the Clinton School of Public Service
(2014), students were divided up in groups to discuss and agree upon a definition of public service. To
my recollection, the group receiving the most recognition from their peers regarding their definition
was Team #7, also known as the Seven Sevens of DiPippa. The team defined

A Clockwork Orange Dystopia
In today s society, there is an evil that hides in the minds of rulers, governments even everyday people.
This evil lies in the crimes committed by thousands of people each year, the corruption of
governments, and the suffering of innocent people. The laws and regulations that we live by today are
put in place in order to prevent crime from encompassing everything people hold dear to stop the bad
people. In the story of A Clockwork Orange the narrator, Alex, gives us a criminal s view of the world.
Throughout the course of three years, Alex takes part in numerous robberies, murders and rapes
people of all ages. In his mind, the disturbing acts he commits fill him with satisfaction and pleasure.

By Rebecca Solnit, I have come to realize that my modern day life is not far from that of Alex s.
Throughout the process of reading this book I was shocked many times by the everyday acts of evil
against innocent people. It is sad to know that they are so common in our world today. Acts such as
robbery, rape and murder happen every day, and they don t always just take one thing from the
victims. As Alex often shows us, during the process of evil acts the victims are dehumanized and
beaten. The laws and regulations put in place today are supposed to protect people from ever
experiencing these horrid acts, yet even in Alex s story, little justice is done for those who suffer.
Society brings out the best and worst in people and often puts people in desperate situations, allowing
the darkness to come forth. People have become selfish, cold and heart less without a care for the
people around them. Our society and government today have created monsters and have done so
without giving any type of cure or proper treatment to bring them back into the light. The darkness
and evil that had consumed Alex is the same as the darkness that is in our very world today. The world
of darkness is breaking through the fake seams of society that present a false picture of happiness, and
if our government and people all over the world do not make a change, it will consume us

Neurological Disability
Everyone possesses an innate superpower; and some people just have a unique kryptonite. Regardless
of what one s kryptonite is, everyone has something to offer the world. Rather than focus on someone
s disabilities we should be celebrate and foster the growth of their abilities, as that is how we can close
the gap. At six years old I was diagnosed with multiple, severe learning disabilities. The main concern
of my parents, teachers, and doctors was Dysgraphia, a neurological disability that affects my ability
to physically write. I attended weekly Occupational Therapy sessions, where for three years Cathy, my

Democracy In J. Allen Smith s The Spirit Of American...
Discussion Democracy flourished in America where it had previously floundered in Europe. As early
as 1907, J. Allen Smith attributed this to the fact that the colonists were more active, enterprising, and
dissatisfied than the typical Englishman, in his work The Spirit of American Government,. He noted
that the Revolutionary War was not sparked by colonists hating the monarchical system, but by the
negative relationship between England and its newest colony. This attitude, coupled with an active
revolution, created the perfect outlet for democratic theory to be expressed and enacted (Smith, 1907;
Thoman, n.d.). In creating an independent nation, the founding fathers looked to various forms of
government, both ancient and modern, for inspiration.

named Chickadee, who Mason encounters, develops from being very dependant into a more
independent and optimistic character. She has diabetes, so she cannot live without insulin. Since the
earthquake was so destructive, there are no doctors left to treat her. Chickadee becomes pessimistic
when she realizes she will inevitably die if she does not get treated. However, before Chickadee dies,
she explains, There are different types of people in this world. There are people who accept what s in
front of them unquestioningly... Then there are people like me. Optimists. They too live in the dark, in
times like these, but dream of the light (219). Chickadee admits she is an optimist, and advises Mason
to be optimistic as well. He also starts looking at the positive side of situations. Even when Chickadee
dies, instead of mourning her death, Mason decides to fulfil her final wish: to go to Vancouver and
feel the ocean for her. Furthermore, another main character, Michael, begins as ignorant and passive,
but becomes more optimistic. When Evans tells Michael that he needs to find his daughter and wife,
Michael volunteers to help. He reassures Evans, We ll get through this. We ll find your wife and child

Evans find his family members during these egregious times. In addition, Aries also undergoes
dramatic changes throughout the novel. For instance, she is a very scared and pessimistic character
when she finds out that her friend, Sarah, has died. As the story progresses, Aries develops into an
exceptional leader who others admire and treat respectfully. Aries thinks to herself, No matter how

Synaptic Activity Is Vital For The Passage Of Information...
Synaptic activity is vital for the passage of information throughout the nervous system, as it allows for
electrical impulses to be passed from one neuron to another. Electrical impulses in the form of action
potentials are passed through the axon of a neuron towards the axon terminal. This information is then
passed across the synaptic cleft to receptors present on the postsynaptic membrane via the process of
neurotransmission. Drugs can interrupt this specific process in a variety of ways such as through
affecting the production, storage and release of neurotransmitters, the presynaptic and postsynaptic
receptors as well as the reuptake and destruction of neurotransmitters (Carlson, 2014). Selective
Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) and Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) are just two
types of drugs which can affect different pathways in this process of neurotransmission. In doing so,
the neurotransmitter serotonin is made more available within the central nervous system (CNS), a
neurotransmitter believed to be central to the affective disorder of depression, which is caused by a
deficiency of serotonin.
The process of neurotransmission begins with an action potential. An action potential can be described
as the brief electrical impulse that provides the basis for conduction of information along an axon
(Carlson, 2014), and is determined by the movement of ions through ion channels in or out of a cell,
depending on the permeability of the membrane, forces of

The Evolution of Folk Music Vocals
The Evolution of Folk Music Vocals
By its definition, folk music technically refers to indigenous forms of music created by local, regional
or native populations as a way of engaging in cultural expression. This means that at its core, folk
music is not intended to command a commercial value nor is it necessarily folk music by definition
once a form has been co opted by an outside culture. However, this is also a definition for folk which
has long been rendered obsolete by the aesthetic and vocal qualities that listeners tend to associate
with the genre today. This is because the most historically significant instances in which folk music
converged with the commercial zeitgeist would come to produce a highly distinctive set of sounds.
Indeed, when we think of folk music, one tends instantly to conjure image of a young Bob Dylan with
harmonica rack and guitar, wheezing his half singing, half speaking vocal style in Greenwich Village.
This iconic vision from the Folk Revival of the 1960s is probably the best bridge that we have to folk
influences like the socialist activists of the Almanac Singers and the Weavers, like Delta country folk
singers like Mississippi John Hurt or Josh White, or like bluegrass innovators such as the Carter
Family. Indeed, Nelson (2010) tells that figures such as Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and John and
Alan Lomax, made a huge impact on folk music in America, one which is still felt today. It is likely
that their joint efforts with each other and

In essence, ethics in research entails conducting research in a way that the method or procedure employed, the purpose of the research and the way one publishes his or her research findings adheres or exemplifies good conduct. This alludes to the notion that moral rules and professionalism extends to even the collection of research objects, analysis of the same, and publication of gathered information about the research objects for purposes of distributing to third parties. One of them is that the researchers should not have been forced into the research. They should be undertaking it free from undue pressure. This principle, otherwise referred to as principle of voluntary participation, will ensure the autonomy of the participants which is a very vital element in the process of research. Another principle is that the research should be of such a value that it outweighs the potential risks or probable harm that the researchers will face. Also, the participants should be sufficiently informed in regards to all aspects of the research. (Apa.org, 2015) In essence, ethics in research are of great significance. • 4. The Importance Of Somaliland In The United States Thurgood Marshall said, In recognizing the humanity of our fellow beings, we pay ourselves the highest tribute. Perhaps us senators need to take in his advice in recognizing Somaliland. Affirmation of Somaliland is crucial because the encouragement of African action should not become the basis for inaction on the part of the United States. Jendayi Frazer, in her report on Somaliland: Time for African Union Leadership, states that the United States would recognize Somaliland if the others acted first. But Somaliland deserves recognition from a purely U.S. centric national security perspective. The United States has always stood to protect the values that it was founded upon. Somaliland, in its entirety fits this impression. The Somaliland government and population embody a moderate voice in the Muslim world that rejects radical interpretations of Islam, including that espoused by the Council of Somali Islamic Courts currently in control. It would serve as a bulwark against the further expansion of radical ideologies in the Horn of Africa by offering a brilliant case of how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to professor Peter Schraeder, Recognition of Somaliland, would serve as a powerful lesson for other countries within the region of the benefits associated with the creation and consolidation of democratic systems of governance. Somaliland would, thus, become a model to emulate. From recognizing Somaliland, the United States would be undertaking a proactive policy in support of a moderate, Muslim democracy. In comparison, by not recognizing the state, we would be keeping the status quo in Somalia, which would not only prolong the human suffering there, but also, increase the spreading radicalism and chaos that could engulf the region entirely. In this scenario, diplomatic recognition for Somaliland would be unjustly denied and would further delay opportunity for investment, trade and economic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. IDS Financial Services Case Study Situational Analysis Introduction: IDS Financial Services operate in the consumer financial service industry. After the acquisition by American Express in 1984 the company went through tremendous growth for three consecutive years in terms of revenue (average 30%), financial plan fees (174%) and its sales force (annual rate11%). The company was facing new challenges as to how to maintain this 30 percent growth rate in the market place where the competition was increasing day by day. The consumer financial industry is growing very fast which creates new opportunities to be exploited. With this the competition is also growing as the competitors are becoming more and more aggressive in marketing and selling their products. Now the company ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To achieve the target of 30% growth in revenues one of the options with Saunders is to expand his Sales force. This expansion plan might be curbed internally as it goes against the other key objective of reducing cost. Saunders would have to put across this expansion as an investment and not a cost. He should also reiterate the fact that IDS competitors are doubling their sales force. Saunders would probably face a challenge to change the complex salary structure of the planners as well. It is critical that this complex structure be simplified and the remuneration benefits be clearly shown (to the sales force) if Saunders has to curb attrition (attrition rates being high the expected growth might not be possible). He might face a hurdle in this regard due to the fact that a complex system would have been put in place to handle all the paper work e.g. there are 150 different commission schedules but general repulsion to change in the workplace would be a hurdle. Here, Saunders could emphasize that keeping the sales force is all important especially since: Big players like Merrill Lynch have also started operating in the middle market and IDS has to consolidate its position there. This is possible only with a trained retainable work force. If IDS has to target the higher market of high net worth individuals where it has a smaller presence, then retaining trained personnel is all the more important The fact that this investment would help ... Why you, Beatty, can t burn this book is because it has an amazing message behind it. After reading the book I feel like it teaches the reader forgiveness. • 10. Self Portrait In A Straw Hat Essay The two paintings which will be compared and contrasted are entitled Woman with a hat by Henri Matisse and Self portrait in a Straw Hat by Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun. Both of these artists have used the portraiture as a subject and have chosen painting as their art form and oils on canvas as their medium. However, each of these artist s interpretation of their artwork is very different. Matisse has concentrated on colours as he has applied a mixture of brilliant colour all across his subjects face, hat, dress and even the background, whereas Vigee Le Brun has focused on showing extreme reality in order to demonstrate her painting skills which will be explored further. Though Matisses art is a portrait of his wife while Le Brun is painting portrait of herself. In each of these portraits the artists have approached it differently and have different intentions and meanings. Matisses use of bright colours communicate his painting subjectively and the loose brush strokes made the painting look almost unfinished which was essentially the artist s move towards an expressive individual style. Matisse is communicating subjectively as he has used colours not to imitate nature but to produce a reaction in the viewer. The hat is being used to show that she is an upper class woman. In Matisse s portrait Amelia is holding a fan which is seemingly important as it s used to show mood, while in Le Brun s self portrait she is holding a paint palette. The hat is important to the painting as in fact it is the main purpose of his painting. As the painting is entitled, Woman with a Hat . Le Brun s self portrait represents how she s painting it in the first place straight up. Hence, she is trying to communicate and put things in the painting to give clues about what she s about and what she does for a living subjectively. It is also a means of representing her physical attributes, self portraiture, her place in society and her style. And therefore she is subjectively communicating herself. As she was ... • 12. Big 5 Mass Extinction Events In Research Throughout the lifetime of the Earth, there have been various scientists who have hypothesized various extinction events. The following essay will cover the five major extinction events, otherwise known as the Big 5 Mass Extinction Events . According to Wikipedia (2016), a mass extinction is a widespread and rapid decrease in the amount of life on Earth. Such an event is identified by a sharp change in the diversity and abundance of multicellular organisms . The first major extinction event is said to have been the Ordovician Silurian mass extinction, 443 million years ago, which occurred during the end of the Ordovician period, and the start of the Silurian period (bbc.co.uk, 2014). This is the third largest mass extinction in the Earth s history, and there were two peak dying times during this period, separated my hundreds of thousands of years. The Ordovician is characterised by sea life, so creatures such as brachiopods, graptolites and trilobite populations were severely diminished. An ice age is said to be responsible for the death (endangerdspeciesinternational.org, 2011). The Late Devonian mass extinction is well known for having one of the most drastic extinction rates. This would imply that the needs of victims of crime have consistently been on the political agenda and that the system is recognising that improvements need to be made to promote victims interests. What however is the reality? This essay will explore how an advocate for the criminal justice system (CJS) would argue that victims of crime are not being failed. Victims have been compared to a professional tool at the disposal of the lawyers, judges and court officials which would imply that cases have been taken by the professionals of the system and that victims have lost participation in their own cases. It is submitted that this is a transparent failure of the system as victims have lost their voice and are viewed as subservient to the professionals. It is interesting to compare the current process with that used in the Anglo Saxon period where an altercation trial took place and the victim was responsible for prosecuting the offender. • 14. Cheap Labor Essay In the twenty first century, it is not a secret that many American companies are actually setting up factories in foreign countries, with the majority located in Asia. Notable examples of this include athletic shoe companies such as Nike, Adidas, and Reebok Additionally, most people know the reason these companies make their products overseas: cheap labor. However, what exactly does the term cheap labor entail? Moreover, how are international politics and the global economy affected by this outsourcing? While it may seem like a simple question with a simple answer, the cause of such a relationship and its effects on international commerce are deeply complex and morally questionable. The relationship between international politics and offshore athletic shoe production is a surprisingly complex one. Its origins are in the era of the Cold War, when American shoe companies began moving their production offshore. Nike closed the last of their factories based in the United States in 1975, choosing instead to put their factories in the countries that were close allies. While China now produces one third of all athletic shoes, most athletic shoe factories were located in South Korea from the seventies through the nineties (Enloe, 272). Because South Korea and the United States were strong allies during the Cold War, the American shoes being produced were, in a sense, militarized. The prayer around the Jesus cross in the center was about to begin when a person placed the cross on the ground and next to the cross a pillow for people to kneel and express their burdens. After about ten minutes, the prayer around the cross continued, but this time the cross was moved to a table. People freely approached the cross at the table and placed their heads on it or kissed the cross. After a few more prayers were said aloud, then the final prayer was said followed by a song as the closing. This will result in almost $400 million in bonus payments since receiving government assistance (Collins, para 11). As mentioned previously, AIG does not have a moral right to these bonuses. In supranational context, the two memory frameworks dominating official EU discourses for the creation of a common European historical memory are Nazism and Stalinism. These two regimes and their policies embody an absolute contrast to the ideals embraced in the European project: peace, freedom, democracy, the rule of law, human rights, civil liberties and the right to individual self determination. Purpose: A minimal contrast method to teaching phonological oppositions is a conceptual, rather than motoric, strategy to suppress phonological processes. This method was assessed for effectiveness in reducing the frequency of process use and generalization of treatment effect. Method: Two unintelligible 4 year old children were confronted with the miscommunication resulting from their misarticulation of a target word produced as another meaningful word. Four minimal pairs were trained for each targeted process: deletion of final consonants, stopping, and word initial fronting. Twenty four generalization probes of non treatment words were assessed for each targeted process. Results: Minimal pairs treatment procedure was effective in decreasing process use over a short period of time. Several sound production errors improved concomitantly. Subject A improved more rapidly than subject B. Generalization to probe words occurred gradually. The darkness and evil that had consumed Alex is the same as the darkness that is in our very world today. The world of darkness is breaking through the fake seams of society that present a false picture of happiness, and if our government and people all over the world do not make a change, it will consume us ... Textile mill sludge was mixed together with different proportion (5% to 35%) as the raw material in this study. The brick was fired at 600 to 800ºC and for 8, 16 and 24hours. Base on the result textile sludge can be added up to 15% as it gives compressive strength above 3.5N/mm2 and the water absorption ratio is less than 20%. According to (Herek et al, 2012) investigated on incorporated the textile laundry sludge into a brick showed that sludge can be incorporate until a concentration of 20% in terms of the mechanical properties. The compressive strength for the brick was 3.73Mpa for the control brick and 4.62Mpa for the sludge brick. For the water absorption result had shown that 15.73% and 10.10% for control brick and sludge brick respectively. Regardless of what one s kryptonite is, everyone has something to offer the world. Rather than focus on someone s disabilities we should be celebrate and foster the growth of their abilities, as that is how we can close the gap. At six years old I was diagnosed with multiple, severe learning disabilities. The main concern of my parents, teachers, and doctors was Dysgraphia, a neurological disability that affects my ability to physically write. The reality is, people with disabilities often must work significantly harder to achieve the same outcomes, as their neuro typical peers are able to achieve with minimal effort[2]. In this case, the hearing the sentiment, if you just tried harder. If you focused more. if you really put your mind to it. you could do it over and over is extremely discouraging, especially when you know you are trying your absolute hardest. Not only is it demoralizing, but also implying that disabled people can and should be able to do more, undermines their struggles and invalidates their identity as a disabled person. • 32. Democracy In J. Allen Smith s The Spirit Of American... Discussion Democracy flourished in America where it had previously floundered in Europe. As early as 1907, J. Allen Smith attributed this to the fact that the colonists were more active, enterprising, and dissatisfied than the typical Englishman, in his work The Spirit of American Government,. He noted that the Revolutionary War was not sparked by colonists hating the monarchical system, but by the negative relationship between England and its newest colony. This attitude, coupled with an active revolution, created the perfect outlet for democratic theory to be expressed and enacted (Smith, 1907; Thoman, n.d.). In creating an independent nation, the founding fathers looked to various forms of government, both ancient and modern, for inspiration. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 35. Synaptic Activity Is Vital For The Passage Of Information... Synaptic activity is vital for the passage of information throughout the nervous system, as it allows for electrical impulses to be passed from one neuron to another. Electrical impulses in the form of action potentials are passed through the axon of a neuron towards the axon terminal. This information is then passed across the synaptic cleft to receptors present on the postsynaptic membrane via the process of neurotransmission. Drugs can interrupt this specific process in a variety of ways such as through affecting the production, storage and release of neurotransmitters, the presynaptic and postsynaptic receptors as well as the reuptake and destruction of neurotransmitters (Carlson, 2014). Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) and Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) are just two types of drugs which can affect different pathways in this process of neurotransmission. In doing so, the neurotransmitter serotonin is made more available within the central nervous system (CNS), a neurotransmitter believed to be central to the affective disorder of depression, which is caused by a deficiency of serotonin. The process of neurotransmission begins with an action potential. An action potential can be described as the brief electrical impulse that provides the basis for conduction of information along an axon (Carlson, 2014), and is determined by the movement of ions through ion channels in or out of a cell, depending on the permeability of the membrane, forces of ... • 37. The Evolution of Folk Music Vocals The Evolution of Folk Music Vocals By its definition, folk music technically refers to indigenous forms of music created by local, regional or native populations as a way of engaging in cultural expression. This means that at its core, folk music is not intended to command a commercial value nor is it necessarily folk music by definition once a form has been co opted by an outside culture. However, this is also a definition for folk which has long been rendered obsolete by the aesthetic and vocal qualities that listeners tend to associate with the genre today. This is because the most historically significant instances in which folk music converged with the commercial zeitgeist would come to produce a highly distinctive set of sounds. Indeed, when we think of folk music, one tends instantly to conjure image of a young Bob Dylan with harmonica rack and guitar, wheezing his half singing, half speaking vocal style in Greenwich Village. This iconic vision from the Folk Revival of the 1960s is probably the best bridge that we have to folk influences like the socialist activists of the Almanac Singers and the Weavers, like Delta country folk singers like Mississippi John Hurt or Josh White, or like bluegrass innovators such as the Carter Family. Indeed, Nelson (2010) tells that figures such as Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and John and Alan Lomax, made a huge impact on folk music in America, one which is still felt today. It is likely that their joint efforts with each other and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
