Porter s Five Forces Apparel Industry
The Threat of New Entrants within the Apparel Industry
Porter s five forces model seeks to portray how attractive an industry is in relation to the five
competitive forces which includes, threat of substitutes, threat of entry, bargaining power of
customers, intensity of competitive rivalry and bargaining power of suppliers.
The threat of new entrants of the porter s five force model refers to the threat that potential new
competition pose to existing competition within the industry. This threat is the force of the model
which would shape the competitive nature of the fashion and apparel industry.
The fashion and apparel industry is one of high profits and this is why it has attracted many
competitors. Since there is a slow growth increase within the industry this has increased the
competition and this has caused an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The barriers to entry are the factors which alter the entrance of potential competitors within any
apparel and fashion industry. These barriers act as stops for potential competitors; which are
seeking to enter. Some of these barriers to entry within the industry would include:
Economics of scale; refers to the cost advantages that a company have because of its scale of
operation, size and output. Economies of scale are also seen as; if there is a decline in the unit
costs of a product within the industry, this would cause the volume in output to increase which in
turn would be very beneficial to existing firms. This barrier forces potential new entrants to try to
come in on a small scale which would force a cost disadvantage to them. This is why existing firms
with economies of scale have a cost advantage over small competitors and potential new entrants;
because these entrants will also try to match existing competitors this would be disadvantageous to

Dangers Of Boosting
Introduction: this issue analysis is examining the use of boosting in spinal injury Paralympians and
how this is thought to be dangerous to the individual that uses this as a technique of gaining an
advantage over other players.
Biological background: Boosting is a technique paraplegic athletes use to increase their blood
pressure to a normal rate to enhance their performance skills as paraplegic athletes are unable to
alter their blood pressure with exercises (Blauwet, 2016).
Boosting in the Paralympics has been banned since 1994, prior to events doctors are required to
check athletes blood pressure and any athlete discovered to have a systolic blood pressure higher
than 160MMHG (A millimetre of mercury) are given ten minutes to lower blood ... Show more

Boosting is a risk as consciously forcing your blood pressure to rapidly rise can result in blood
vessels bursting or cause a stroke. The athletes that partake in this are risking their safety for the
sake of breaking world records and winning.
Despite being conscious of the dangers of their health, 16.75 of the participants in this study
indicated they had resorted to boosting either in training or in competition. 2008 2008 World Anti
Doping Agency statistics (Self mutilation and exaggeration a problem for Paralympics, 2016)
boosting affects a small number of athletes but is a significant issue in the sport as it provided these
athletes with an upper edge to the other athletes competing in the event.
Conclusion: In conclusion the long term effects of boosting is not worth the short term success in
events, there are future side effects that boosting can cause such as heart problems and in particular
pulmonary edema which causes the blood from veins to back up and fill the lungs with liquid and
gas. The 2012 crack down on the blood pressure is stopping athletes attempting this form of
cheating.

The Public Education System In The United States
From the beginning of its existence, the United States has pushed for a democratic society due to
its strict ruling under the English monarchy. A democratic society is simply viewed as a society
that is based on the ideas of democracy: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. In order to
produce people who perpetuate this type of government, a proper educationis vital. American
philosopher John Dewey had a vision that democracyshould work hand in hand with the education
system. Dewey strongly believed that participating in a democratic society was extremely
important, and he thought that the education system was the way to achieve that. In the current
schooling system, every child is presented with the same luxury: the equal chance to receive a
proper education. However, schooling systems stop here. Today s education system is preparing
students to participate and perpetuate in a democratic society to a certain extent.... Show more

In a typical American high school, many co curricular activities are offered. These can be
described as: athletic teams, academic teams such as Science Olympiad or Mathletes, and student
council. All these activities require a specified leader, team involvement, and active participation in
order to succeed mirroring a common democracy. However, schooling systems stop here.
Ironically, many people believe that education should be based on the three r s, or reading, writing,
and arithmetic. This type of education causes the understanding of democratic ideals banish
because the students are not educated on what a democracy really means nor how to perpetuate it.
Many citizens do not realize that their rights based on democracy are broken on a daily basis,

Executive Summary
An effective records management program is an integral part of an organization s effective business
operations. Organizations must consider records management requirements when implementing the
system management strategies or whenever they design and augment an electronic information
system. Organizations are required by law to make and preserve records containing adequate and
proper documentation of the organization, functions, policies, decisions, procedures, and essential
transactions of the organization. This legal requirement applies to electronic records kept by the
organizations as well. Organizations that do not consistently ... Show more content on

The most important steps in all this are the definition, development, and refinement of the data
model, which mostly involves treatment of the records being created or managed (Stephens, 2007).
Information systems are developed according to system development methodologies, including
those that organizations use to implement the electronic signature as required by the statutory
bodies; which govern production and augmentation of existing records. The records life cycle
usually exceeds the system development life cycle. When it does the organization involved needs to
retain the particular record for a period of time longer than the life of the electronic information
system that generated the electronic signature. However, this presents special challenges, such as
maintaining the integrity of record in case of system migration.
Background
Characteristics of Trustworthy Organizational Records
Reliability, authenticity, integrity, and usability are the features used to describe trustworthy
records from a records management perspective. An organization needs to consider these features
when laying implementation plans for ERM programs; such that it can meet its internal business
and legal needs, as well as external regulations (Boiko, 2002). The degree of effort that an
organization puts into ensuring that these characteristics are attained depends on

So many changes had come about when the World Trade Center collapsed. Engineers and design
teams all across the country came together and wanted to make changes to buildings they build
today to reduce to number of fatalities and to have more means of egress in case of an emergency.
Not even years after the terriorist attacks, they came up with some changes that would help out the
situation and came up with some new safety regulations. Some of them include additional
stairways in buildings. More stairways in buildings is great when buildings exceed more than
1,000 plus people inside a buildingat one time. Having just one or two stairwells and having 1,000

Citizenship In The United States
In order to understand the phenomenon of the unequal nature of citizenship in the United States,
the true intent of citizenship in the U.S. must be examined. To help define U.S. citizenship I will
analyze the arguments made by Scholar Rebecca Tsosie in her work, The Politics of Inclusion:
Indigenous Peoples and U.S. Citizenship. According to Tsosie, a common misconception of the
United Statesis that the nation was originally constructed to be inclusive and equal to all people
under the Constitution. She disproves this statement by using various examples throughout
American history that counter this claim. Tsosie makes two main claims about U.S. citizenship;
that equality is not directly associated with U.S. citizenship, and that the constitution... Show more

McFarland adds information about taxation by the U.S. in the Virgin Islands. He focuses mainly on
the Tax Reform of 1986 in his article. In McFarland s findings, the tax reform would prevent tax
loopholes within the Islands. For example, Virgin Islands inhabitants would not pay the amount of
taxes continental U.S. citizens would. This shows that the residents do not believe they so be taxed
the same as continental U.S. citizens. The tax information is valuable to the argument of taxation
without representation in my research, which is a strength of McFarland s article. The article is
also weak, because McFarland does not provide information why inhabitants refused to pay the
taxes. In my research, I would conduct interviews to determine this information. My research would

Positive And Negative Impact Of Loanwords
This paper examines the positive, and negative, impact of English loanwords; currently being used
in the Japanese language. Loanwords are words that have been borrowed from one language and
incorporated into another; these words are sometimes integrated without any further modification.
The initial consideration is as to why so many English loanwords have managed to infiltrate the
Japanese language. Thereafter, the negative and positive implications for Japanese society are
explored. The aim is to draw a final conclusion, based on an objective review of previous studies on
the subject.
Keywords: Colonization, globalization, contentious, population
The Positive and Negative Impact of English Loanwords on the Japanese Language Over a
prolonged period of time, the use of English has expanded to the point that is has become a truly
global language. Presently, there are more than 1.5 billion English speakers worldwide; the reasons
for this are varied. English being the preferred method of internet communication; British
colonization and the world s fixation with American popular culture, are just some of the
contributory factors. There can be little doubt that this expansion of English as a lingua franca ...

Classical Vs. Operant Conditioning
Classical and Operant Conditioning Ivan Pavlov once said, Don t become a mere recorder of
facts, but try to penetrate the mystery of their origin. Often times in the fast pace world that college
students live today many get so caught up in sheer memorization of everything that comes their
way just to pass with that sought after A. What is often looked past is the true meaning of concepts
and ideas to retain the information needed for success. It was this very mindset instilled with in
great men such as Ivan Pavlov, B.F. Skinner, and many more who have broken new ground and

Things that shouldn t be all that scary but over time have developed a stimulus that causes a
reaction (Field Purkis, 2012, cited in Weiten, 2017). There are four basic terms that are very key in
understanding classical conditioning. First, unconditioned stimulus (UCS), is a stimulus that
evokes an unconditioned response without previous conditioning (Weiten, 2017). The
unconditioned stimulus is a stimulus that occurs naturally without any outside interaction. This is
something that happens in a person s daily life, with no thought given to it. The second term is the
unconditioned response (UCR), an unlearned reaction to a nonconditioned stimulus that occurs
without previous conditioning (Weiten, 2017). This is the natural reaction to the natural stimulus.
Nothing has been learned or conditioned yet, these are both baseline things happening in a natural
form. Third, conditioned stimulus (CS), a previously neutral stimulus that has, through
conditioning, acquired the capacity to evoke a conditioned response (Weiten, 2017). Time after
time the neutral stimulus slowly become the conditioned stimulus, it has slowly been developed
and learned to create a stimulus. It is not something that is recognized while it is happening,
gradually helps itself in the forming of the stimulus. Lastly, the fourth term, conditioned response, a
learned reaction to a conditioned stimulus that occurs because of previous conditioning (Weiten,
2017). This is where the

minute it was observed as being fast and it appeared that her accessory muscles were being used.
Mrs Smith s pallor also appeared flushed and her saturations were documented as 93%. The nurse
used the stethoscope to check for wheeze the patient s lungs were clear and chest rise was
symmetrical. Mrs Smith was commenced on 100% oxygen through a non rebreathe mask, oxygen
as an intervention is necessary as Creed Spiers (2010) highlight metabolic demand for oxygen
throughout the body is hugely increased by sepsis and is essential to ensure the supply of oxygen is
maximized .The nurse monitored the patient closely because in her confused state the patient may
try to remove the oxygen mask.
An evaluation of Mrs Smith circulation was the next step carried out by the nurse, as in the
breathing assessment Mrs Smith pallor was noted as being flushed and the patient appeared
confused this could be associated with poor cardiac output. The nurse recorded the patient s

Sexualized In Public
Before I will discuss how I feel about women baring their breasts out in public, I personally need
to consider my own. My breasts in a whole are not too large, yet not quite big either. I can
personally exempt myself from being a lifetime member of the itty bitty titty community, yet I m
still unable to join the big girl s gang. My breast is pretty average based off of my knowledge;
having a C cup bra size isn t something to neither complain nor fret about, yet for my average
size breast I do regulate and more importantly sexualized because of my boobs. I don t recall
agreeing to be sexualized before I was born, but then again neither did I agree to be born in a
patriarchal modern day society. I think that breast shouldn t be regulated nor condemn. Though
being bare breasted in public is something that I have yet to experience or actually do in my life;
I m certainly on board with this symbolical type of activism. Being bare breasted brings forth this
sentiment of liberation: free from underwire and free from those annoying straps, yet it also brings
forth those antagonizing stares and remarks at the same time. Is liberating your breast really worth
it? Considering Bartky s analysis: not really. Yes, the time has passed since Bartky was written her
article, yet sanctions and violence are still prominent in our modern society. The gaze which is

A Brieg Biography of William McKinley
William McKinley was our 25th great president. He did many wonderful things such as leading
America to victory in war with Spain. Some of his other concerns while in office include: domestic
affairs, tariff legislation, race relations, trust regulation, and foreign affairs. He had a good life and
served as an amazing president during his time in the Whitehouse until his assassination.
McKinley was born on January 29, 1843 in Niles, Ohio. He was the seventh child to his father,
William McKinley and his mother, Nancy Campbell Allison McKinley. As a boy, McKinley
attended a one room schoolhouse in his hometown until the age of nine. At that time McKinley
and his family moved to Poland, Ohio (which was nearby) so that the children could attend a
private school. At age 16 he attended Allegheny Collage in Meadville, Pennsylvania where he
studied for one term before he had to leave due to sickness and some financial issues he was
facing. After recovering he enlisted as a private in the Civil War. McKinley joined the 23rd Ohio
Volunteer Infantry at age 18 and was promoted to commissary sergeant at 19. He later became a
Second Lieutenant because of his acts of bravery on the battlefield. This would only be the start to
his success.
McKinley won a seat in Congress in the House of Representatives in 1876 when he was 34 years
old. He began wearing a red carnation after he noticed his opponent, Levi Lamborn, was wearing

Rights of Man Essay
Rights of Man
The identity of a society is verified through the rights which are given to the citizens. The rights of
man have been at many different standards throughout time. Often being very one sided, and at
times striving for a median between the two sides. In Edmund Burke s essay Reflections on the
Revolution in France Burke states that a king is in one sense a servant but in everyday situations
they are above every individual. All persons under him owe him a legal agreement to serve his
hopes. This essay will demonstrate why Thomas Paine s essay The Rights of Man is more
convincing than Edmund Burke s through examination of a heredity government, the nature of
rights and the uselessness of the monarchy.

All individuals of the state should have say in selecting an individual to represent him and everyone
else.
Paine states that rights by nature cannot be granted. He supports this by saying that if rights are
granted then they can be revoked, and if they can be revoked then they can be considered
privileges, not rights. He claims that they should not be an agreement between the living and the
dead, but the sole benefit of the entire constituent of these two groups. This is a very good
argument on Paine s behalf. For if rights leaned to the deceased side then the living will be sold
short on what they are deserved. On the other hand, if it supported the other side, we would be
excluding the necessary component of tradition and example. Without the component of
precedents and tradition, legitimacy would be lost. The rights are constantly changing through
time. Rights which are appropriate in one decade do not necessarily mean it is applicable in the
next. Mans morals and expectations of each other change drastically through history. So how is it
possible to accept a forever binding right? Rights are often looked upon as rewards for abiding to
the regulations set out by the higher party. In my mind rights are not earned, but they are rather an
extension of our social contract. Rights must be applicable to all individuals.
Paine s looks down upon the monarchical

The Year-Round School Debate
A common debate among educators and school board members is the idea of year round schooling.
While many think this is best for students education, there are factors that could make it so it doesn
t affect their education or it makes matters worse. Most students are great full for their summer
break. They schedule family vacations, which are very important, and they are able to keep jobs
with little to no conflict in the summer. If that time was to be taken away, that would negatively
affect students. There are solutions other than making schoolgo all year round.
A fact on year round schooling is that all schools would still take extended breaks after a set
amount of dates. The US Department of Education requires 180 days of attending school a year.
One idea that a school using year round school might use is the 60 20 plan. This means that
students attend school for 60 days and get 20 days off. This also applies for the 45 15 and 80 30
plans. (Vandewater)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, the workload required of the teachers will go up. In addition, the students will be busy with
school work when they are usually on summer break. This is when most students will get jobs so
that school doesn t interfere. An employer will not want an employee that has to leave every week
or so ( The Year Round School Debate ).
On the opposing side, researchers say that the long three months in the summer that students are not
attending school is when they lose the most information. Another benefit to switching to year round
schooling is that students will not get bored over the summer. They will have shorter breaks. It is
also said that hiring a tutor over the summer is not as good as some may think (Kalil). According to
another study, teachers and students don t have to spend as much time reviewing material that the
students learned the previous year. Also some schools that have switched to year round, got extra
funds

The Tell-Tale Heart
The short occipitovertebral artery separates into two arteries: the occipital artery and the vertebral
artery, which connects to the skull and vertebral column respectively. The top of the right and left

The posterior vena cava carries deoxygenated blood to the lower half of the body the hepatic

to the posterior vena cava is the hepatic portal system, an abdominal vein formed by the two pelvic

Journal Of The Plague Year Essay
This paper is a literary analysis of a select passage from page 151 of Daniel Defoe s, Journal of
the Plague Year. The focus of this passage is the narrator s feelings about the plague s
relationship with human nature. In this passage H.F. (Defoe) asserts that another plague year
would reconcile all destructive differences between people. Consequently, this passage does not
correspond with the expected perspective of a plague survivor. The original intent of Journal of
the Plague year was to be a realistic account of the plague from the prospective of H.F., a man
living in London during the great visitation of 1665. The intention of the book does not match the
content of the passage from page 151 because in this passage Daniel Defoerepeatedly... Show more

This section of the passage also highlights the passages theme of the individual versus the
collective. Specifically, through the perspective of H.F., Defoe asserts that religious sects should
combine into one overarching religion. In that, the Anglican church should bind with dissenting
religions and therefore absorb more of their characteristics. Although H.F. has this opinion, he
believes that it is not feasible. He claims, he has, no mind to enter arguments (151), but again his
persuasive language contradicts this claim. Defoe continues to cover up his opinion, which further
illustrates how he is trying to hide how his personal perspective is influencing his writing.
In summary, the authors perspective as someone is not a survivor of the plague heavily
influenced the content of this passage. The passage s bias shows Defoe s insertion of his own
opinion. His detached perspective is evident through H.F. s emotional distance, use of persuasive
language, and attempts to conceal his own opinion. This passage contains the inappropriate bias of
the author, which deceives the reader who believes this is the opinion of a survivor of the plague of

the body cannot distinguish the difference between foreign antibodies and its own organs. So
basically what happens is that the body ends up attacking its own organs thinking they are foreign
substances. (The Lupus Foundation of America)
There are three different types of Lupus. They are: Discoid, Systematic, and Drug Induced. Discoid
Lupus only effects a persons skin. The only symptom of Discoid Lupus is a rash. Systematic Lupus

Some may include: Achy joints, Fever of over 100 degrees, arthritis, extreme fatigue, skin rashes,
anxiety, kidney involvement, pain in the chest area or trouble breathing, rash, light sensitivity, hair
loss, blood clotting problems, seizures, and mouth and nose ulcers. This is a giant list of symptoms,
but many people who have Lupus do not experience more then one or two of these symptoms. (The
Lupus Foundation of America, The Lupus Page)
There are many different ways to treat Lupus. The most common treatment does not cure Lupus,
but minimizes the symptoms and reduces inflammation. Support groups to help relieve anxiety and
regular exercise can help treat the disease as well. There are a bunch of drugs that can be prescribed
to help treat the specific symptoms. Most of these drugs are anti inflammatory drugs. Some of them
are as simple as over the counter painkillers like Tylenol, while others can be powerful steroids with
anti inflammatory agents in them. (The Lupus Foundation of America, The Lupus Page)
In conclusion Lupus is definitely a very serious disease that we must learn more about. My great
aunt had Lupus for over ten years and during that time suffered in ways no person should have to.
She would fall down constantly and break bones. Near the end of her life, she would break bones
doing stuff as simple as getting out of bed.

Dbq Sugar Trade
The sugar trade succeeded due to the increasing demand for the product, along with the advent
of European colonization of the Caribbean, and the use of slavery as an efficient workforce. The
rise in demand for sugar was partially a result of the addictive properties it had, which caused
people to want more of it. The islands on which the Europeans were colonizing were ideal for the
growth of cane sugar, the plant that is processed into the finished sugar product. With the use of
slaves, the production of sugar was happening at a much quicker and cheaper rate than before, thus
creating more sugar to supply the demand.
During the sixteenth century, the Europeans colonized the Caribbean islands, which were perfect for
running sugar plantations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Documents 8 and 10 both show and discuss how slaves were a major aspect of the sugar making
process. Slaves did all aspects of sugar production, whether they were outside growing sugar, or
inside processing the ever so desired substance (Doc 8). The use of slaves made production much
faster, giving the people what they demanded. The more slaves each plantation had, the more
sugar they would produce (Doc 10). Since more sugar was being manufactured at a more rapid
rate, this helped the sugar trade as a whole, as more product was being exported to Europe, where
the demand was extremely high. The cost of slaves, whether in British pounds or valued goods,
is elaborated upon in Documents 9 and 11. The cost of slaves grew over time, but when they were
sold again, it was still for over twice the amount they were purchased for (Doc 9). Slaves were
relatively cheap to purchase, could be used to produce sugar, and then could be sold for a hefty
profit. Goods such as bullets were also used to pay for slaves (Doc 11). English merchants were
able to give Africa items that they were large in stock with for an adult male slave, which showed
just how easy they were to

Simon Weisenthal was a renowned Nazi hunter and Author. He was born on December 31st,
1908. He lived a heroic life and died on September 20, 2005. I am just here to explain his tales
and misfortunes. Simon started off by being born in the Ukraine, but his parents soon packed up
and took him along to Argentina. Growing up he did well in school and graduated from The
Gymnasium in 1928 and applied to the Polytechnic Institute in Lvov. Turned away because of
restrictions on Jewish students, he went to the Technical University of Prague instead, from which
he received his degree in architectural engineering in 1932. In 1936, Simon married Cyla Mueller

After his life of nazi hunting, he moved back to his native land Austria. Used to his active
lifestyle, he found himself doing nothing all day. He decided to spend his time more
productively by writing down all that he remembered about being a concentration camp inmate.
The book was about when he was a concentration camp inmate, Simon was taken from his cell to
the bedside of a dying member of the SS. (Hitler s personal guards) Haunted by the crimes he has
helped commit and watch in the past, he wanted to hear a jew say that he forgives him so he
could die at peace. Faced with the choice of a man dying in peace, or silence and justice, he
chose silence. The book was later published and titled Sunflower, a metaphor for a sunflower
starting in a ground, in darkness, then eventually sprouting and basking in the sun. He started from
ground zero, pretty much like a robot. Everyday he wakes up at the same time, eats the same lousy
breakfast, works in the same factory, and sleeps at the same time. Then eventually his camp is
liberated right before the nazis started liquidating the inmates population. Then he became a free

Star History
The life cycle of a star is dependent on its mass. The larger the mass, the quicker it will die out,
whereas stars which are no more than half the size of our Sun can live up to hundreds of billion
years. However no matter how large the star is, they all begin their lives in a nursery known as a
molecular cloud.
A molecular cloud is a giant condensation of dust and molecular gas. They are regions of
relatively dense interstellar gas and dust with hydrogen molecules as well as carbon and silicate
materials forming the primary constituents. Helium and small amounts of heavier elements are also
found within the cloud. Molecular clouds are very cold and dark regions with typical temperatures
of between 10 and 50 Kelvin. The mass of a typical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The amount of fuel and the rate at which nuclear fusion occurs depends on the mass of the star. The
mass of a star is the determining factor of how long it lives. A red dwarf star is a star about half the
size of our Sun. Due to its extremely low fusion rate, it is estimated that they could last for 10
trillion years. A medium sized star like our Sun spends its main sequence stage up to 10 billion
years.
Stars like our Sun, which are no more than 1.44 solar masses, will undergo fusion of hydrogen into
helium. Over its life time the star slowly uses its supply of hydrogen by fusing it into helium. These
reactions require high temperatures. Eventually the star will completely fuse hydrogen into helium
in its core leaving inadequate amounts of thermal pressure to balance gravity. This will cause the
centre of the star to contract to compensate for the heat energy lost.
As this slow contraction continues, the core temperature, density, and pressure of the star continues
to increase. As the star shrinks it becomes so dense that it starts to compress helium. This results
in the star to swell due to the hot core and leaving a relatively cool surface. Eventually the outer
layers of the star expand outwards, increasing the size of the star. As the layers continue to expand,
the surface temperature continues to cool, forming a relatively large star called a red giant.
In about 5 billion years, the Sun will become a red giant. A red giant is a star which has completely

Sweatshops Should Be Outlawed
Sweatshops should be outlawed. Some of the reason that sweatshops should be outlawed are
employment of minors, who required to work long hours, and they are paid low wages. Powell
provides an economic explanation for the presence of sweatshops in the world. The minors work
in deplorable working condition that cause poor health conditions. They perpetuate the violation
of basic human rights as people are exploited for their labor. Today s sweatshops violate our
notions of justice, yet they continue to flourish. This is so because we have not settled on criteria
that would allow us to condemn and do away with them and because the poor working conditions
in certain places are preferable to the alternative of no job at all. Sweatshops also persist... Show

At the level of the individual worker, sweatshops can be regarded as a blessing of sort, for they
might be the only way for illiterate people lacking marketable skills to enter the global industrial
marketplace. In many less developed countries with large populations, agriculture is the only
economic activity available to people. Sweatshops provide poor people in developing countries with
better outcomes than the alternative of criminal activity (child and adult prostitution). Employable
for only part of the year, outside of the planting and harvesting seasons, there is little for them to
do and they stream into cities looking for work. Sweatshops exist because of a prevailing
mindset that maintains a clear distinction between business and ethics. My perspective is minors
shouldn t have to work at sweatshops, they should be able to work in a clean and safe
environment. During school days no more than four or five hours a day with a legitimate pay
wage. In conclusion, Sweatshops should be outlawed. U.S. have the rights not to face competition
from poor third competition from poor third world workers, and by outlawing competition from
third world we can enhance union wages at the expense of poorer people who work in sweatshops.

Hypocrite In America
One sees people of faith acting righteous and sin free but, behind closed doors, the same people
are as sinful as everyone else. The bible outlines how Christian people are to live; it also holds
the guidelines and morals that are so often forgotten yet still used to badger others through black
lettered sings, typed slander, and words projected over speaker. One who goes against something
they tell others not to do is called a hypocrite, and the worst kind of hypocrite is religious. In the
United States, 78.4% of Americans are Christians, ranging from Baptist to Catholic to Mormon (
Religious ). Towns, no matter their size, all contain churches where people flock to hear the word
of God through song and sermon; television and radio stations broadcast much of the same on a
daily basis, adding more on Sundays. Religionis everywhere and all feel its influence in some way.
On small town highways and the streets of large cities, protests against things such as evolution,
abortion, and segregation have occurred throughout history. One looks into these protests to see that
religious people make up most, if not all, of the crowd. Christians are taught by the bibleto not judge
others and to treat them with respect; however, in these times, one often sees these people belittling

4.1. Overview of the tradable green certificates system
The support system for renewable energy in Romania, i.e. quota system with tradable green
certificates, was launched in 2004 in order to achieve two goals: to reduce the prices for
consumers and to protect the generators of renewable electricity. Wind energy, solar energy,
biomass, micro hydro and geothermal energy are all sources of energy that can be supported by
this system [68].
The trading of green certificates is ensured by OPCOM (green certificates market operator) who
establishes the prices on the centralized market of green certificates. The green certificates are sold
on the green certificates market, independently from electricity sold on the electricity market. The

and on the green certificates market (as owners of green certificates). If they do not fulfill the
annual mandatory quota, then they have to pay a penalty equal to the value of the green certificates
not purchased. The payment is made to Transelectrica S.A., who is the power grid company.
The evolutions of the Romanian economy and energy sector, as well as the international trends
have induced the necessity of updating the strategies, policies, plans and programs previously
developed. The Romanian Energy Strategy for the period 2007 2020 updated for the period 2011

the medium and long term, at the lowest possible price, suitable for a modern economy, and a
decent standard of living, in terms of quality and energy security, respecting the principles of
sustainable development [61]. Having in mind the role of energy in society and in all economic
sectors, the development of this sector is made under the supervision of the state, through the
development and the implementation of the sector strategy.
For the promotion of renewable energy sources the strategy envisages the following measures [61]:

Summary Of Mirrors And Windows By John Szarkowski
John Szarkowski is an American photographer and curator, whose opinions on a photograph s
narrative and direction are highly valued. In his time he analyzed many works of art, and produced
many different interpretations, one being the ideals of mirrors and windows.
The concept of mirrors and windows in photography can be easily defined, but also vague as well.
To state it simply, since the rest is figurative and metaphorical, mirrors are reflections of what is
looking into it, and windows are panes of glass that allow you to see out. When photographing a
picture, based on what you re looking at and what you re trying to capture, one can symbolize a
window or a mirror. When a photo is resembling a mirror, it is an introspective narrative between
the photographer and the viewer. It is an internalized dialogue when piecing it together to see the
reflection. The viewer must approach it as if a literal mirror, to interpret what the message and
main theme of the photo is. Meanwhile, a window is more of a direct observation; of a person,
thing, or message, it doesn t matter. When a photo is symbolized as a window, one can usually see
a clear message, and can decipher what the photographer was aiming to convey.
John Szarkowski, in his essay Mirrors and Windows , introduces two American photographers,
Minor White and Robert Frank, and their photographs, Windowsill Daydreaming and Butte,
Montana . While these two photographs are both of windows, the way they interact with them is

The author attempted, perhaps successfully, to convey the guilt that survivals of such tragic events

another without a conclusion to the previous topic. He then goes back to the previous topic. This
makes it a bit challenging to keep track of the story.
He began the novel from the past. He talked about the war. As one may expect, he does not have a
positive thing to say about the war. He kept mentioning the losses of lives and other tragedies.
Immediately after that, the author will, at least for a moment lighten up the mood and express his
love for Phuong, who was his best friend and love interest. Of course, he is retelling the good times
they had together. The novel appears to be written after the conclusion of the Vietnamwar. This can
be said because, the author talks about the end of the war. The scenes in the novel are from
Vietnam. Post war Vietnam was a struggle for the author as it looks like a struggle for anyone
who has served in a combat anywhere and came back to a civilian life. For the author, the post
war Vietnam, is a beginning of a new life, although he was born and lived his entire life there. He
has lost Phuong. They broke up because her occupation does not allow her for a committed
relationship. He may have caught Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This may have led to his
excessive drinking.

Psalm 23 Analysis
Psalm 23 The Holy Bible, NIV, (1996) explains that David authored Psalm 23 and that his
writing reveals the need for us to turn to God as our shepherd for all of our needs. He begins the
Psalm with The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need. He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name (Psalm 23: 1 3). Immediately, two important corresponding elements
appear, which include green meadows and peaceful streams . Davidis explaining the difference
between a sinful life and one that allows the lord to guide it. Life has an abundance of difficulty,

The Psalm is written to thank the Lord for all that he does Even when I walk through the dark
valley of death, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and

the Lord has done for him. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You welcome
me as a guest, anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings (Psalm 23: 5). David
does not appear to be calling for help or turning to God in need, but only to express his immense
gratitude for the blessings that have been bestowed on him (Bullock, 2004). Surely your goodness
and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord

A Report On Woolworths Company
My chosen business that my report will be based on is the Woolworths company, known primarily
in Australia for their supermarket s and retail chains. Woolworths run several high profile
Australian stores such as BWS, Dan Murphys, Big W and the highly publicized Masters. The
reason for my choice of Woolworths was that as they are one of the biggest companies and
employers in Australia, and have recently been in the media spotlight for the closing of one of the
recent projects Masters. Another major reason as to my choice of Woolworths is that there supply
chain would be as interesting and extensive as any other Australian based company. With almost a
thousand supermarkets Australia wide and over 100 thousand staff, Woolworths is one of the
countries prominent employers (Woolworths limited2012).
An added incentive as to why I chose to do my report on Woolworths was that they are my
current employer. I believe that by learning more about the current supply chain structure and
management of the company that I do indeed work for, will give me a more detailed overview
of the job that I am currently doing. By understanding more about the company you re involved
will hopefully keep me motivated and improve my work leading to a happier time whilst I am

Unethical Ethics Of Advertising
Everyday, everywhere we are being inundated with advertisements. Whether it be while you are
walking down the street, shopping at the supermarket, or even in the safety of your own home
enjoying some tv in your down time. Advertising, whether it be big or small is everywhere; and in
fact there are many issues with it. Advertisingthat promotes a service or product in a deceptive
way is highly unethical. This is because it doesn t provide the customer with enough information
that they need in order to make a good, educated decision. And on another note, advertising is
manipulative because of the way it promotes consumption at such a large scale. Some of the main
reasons for advertising being dishonest are because it displays false savings, it exhibits
unnecessary upselling and possibly most importantly, it feul s wasteful consumerism. The
significance of this problem, comes in the form of the large sums of money people waste on
products they don t need and once purchased, realise they don t want. Frankly it is just too overt to
look past.
A way that advertising is deceptive is by showing false savings. Advertising a shocking pricecut is
a common marketing tactic, but some businesses inflate their prices beforehand just so they can
advertise the sizable price cut. In effect, the customer does not receive a good deal because the
discount reflects virtual, not actual, savings. Word s such as closeout and clearance are commonly
used by companies, which give consumers the

From Liberation To Conquest Chapter 1 Summary

historians. This raised questions such as: what role did race play in the creation of the American
empire. Nell Irvin Painter, Walter L. Williams, Paul A. Kramer, and Bonnie M. Miller are historians

aspects and perspectives, and how racial ideas were involved in the Philippines during the Spanish

factors of their operation that helped to make them this successful.
Location types
Costco warehouse clubs are generally housed in freestanding sites. They sites are isolated
locations for only Costco stores. They have the advantage of being in high traffic areas with great
visibility to attract customers as they pass by. These areas also provide easy parking for customers.
Parking can be an issue in areas where space in limited. In the video of the speech given my Mr.
Jim Sinegal, we can see some of the stores in the Asian markets like Japan and South Korea
where space is more limited than it is here in the United States. In those areas, stores are built
higher to spread the shopping area over multiple floors rather than just one floor like stores in
America. Additionally, parking is provided on the roof tops of those buildings. This allows those
locations to offer similar amenities with parking, easy access, and ample shopping space to
customers in those locations

Critical Review Of Tourism Literature Review
Critical Review of manuscript
This article brings to our knowledge and explains about the overall impact of tourism by taking
the four species of macropodids (Onychogalea faenata, Macropus rufogriseus, Wallabia bicolor
and Macropus giganteus) in a sanctuary as their study samples. A few negative impacts were
observed on different methods of approach and study and so it is concluded that, tours in vehicles
would be better to minimize those impacts rather than on foot. The study of this article proves to be
worth reporting as it exposes and creates the awareness in general about the negative impacts on
different species due to increasing human population and their approach towards them.
The title explains the study of this article and its findings but does not seem to be appropriate. The
title would look better if it was made precise and had apt words that best suited the article
describing its result.
The abstract gives an overall idea and the main aim of this article but has no background
information or reasoning. The study sample species names are mentioned but it lacks the
methodology of their study. It expresses a solution for the problem of the study but not a specific
clear cut quantitative or qualitative result. The content is too concise but still it conveys a message.
The introduction had the suitable information to the study and also it did introduce the topic. The
aim was explained in well organized manner but the hypothesis of the article was not clear.

Specifically Gangsta rap represents part of a larger focus on hip hop and politics that is popular
within the media and among scholarly research and the prominence of gangsta rap in the late 1980s

scientists theorize (Gilliam, 2007).

Enceladus Research Paper
Enceladus Plumes: Cassini s Next Target Imagine hiking up to catch a glimpse of Old Faithful, the
famous geyser located in Yellowstone National Park. 8000 gallons of hot water are shot up into the
sky and reach a maximum altitude at 200 feet. This magnificent sight pales in comparison to
plumes located on Enceladus, Saturn s 6th largest moon. The Cassini spacecraft first spotted
Enceladus in 2005 and reported enormous geysers erupting continuously and spouting water
thousands of miles into outer space on Enceladus fissures near its south pole. This sight is not only
uniquely spectacular, but also intriguing, as scientists are still unsure of the exact cause of
Enceladus Plumes despite nearly a decade of research. A dozen theories have

The Original Riot Grrrls By Elizabeth Cady Stanton
The Original Riot Grrrls The 19th Amendment guarantees a vote for women in the United States of
America, but how did this constitutional change happen? Many females prior to this
accomplishment faced struggles from external forces that denied their rights and capabilities.
Feminism and equal rights were and still are prominent in American society. In order to provide
women of the future what is rightfully theirs, women during the 1700s have taken control of their
opinions and used their strong will to make the necessary changes in American society. During the
Seneca Falls Convention, Elizabeth Cady Stantonexclaimed in her address, The right is ours. The
question now is: how shall we get possession of what rightfully belongs to us, (Stanton). The
leaders, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mottof the Seneca Falls Convention, along with other
female leaders, displayed civil disobedience, provided powerful lectures, and organized conventions
that gave a new perspective on gender equality.
Women s rights in America have been a major concern ever since the thirteen colonies sought their
independence from Great Britain. Abigail Adams embodied an important role in women s property
and equal education rights. Abigail Adams, was married to John Adams, a founding father and
major contributor to the completion of the Declaration of Independence (United States). As her
husband and other men drafted the Declaration of Independence, Abigail Adams proposed to her

Greasers Monologue
I live on 2356 on Hudson Street, replied Cherry. My house is the third on Hudson Street. Hudson
Street is the where you would go to enter the Westside of Town. I was remembering her words at
my desk. I was thinking on how I could talk in a way that appeals to the people I was talking to. I
guess I would know what appeals to the Greasers, but I did not know what appealed to the Socs.
They were always behind a wall of aloofness, so it would be hard to know what appeals to them. I
was thinking of the ways that I could discover what the Socs liked. There is only one way to find
out, I said to myself. It was a crazy idea, but if I could do it successfully, it would help me get the
Socs to stop fighting. I was going to do something that no Greaser had done before,... Show more

I kept cocking my eyebrows, which might have sent a message to Cherry. Alright, she responded
with a smirk, let s go. With that, we started my tour around the West side of town. The West side
of town was looked nicer than the East side, which makes sense because the West side is more
rich. Cherry showed me where the Socs like to go, like the Way Out and Rusty s. To get to know
Socs better, said Cherry, you got to meet them. What if they think I am a Greaser, I asked. We
will just say you are a cousin, responded Cherry nonchalantly. We went inside the Way Out,
which looked very nice in comparison with the Dingo. The chairs seemed more expensive and
luxurious. That might be an odd thing to point out, but it s true. We decided to go talk to some
Soc quarterbacks who played for the school I went to. Cherry knew them because she was the
cheerleader. Who is that guy? asked one of the quarterbacks. I am just a cousin, I replied. Just
showing him around town, said Cherry. Alright, said the quarterback. Can I ask you guys some
questions? I asked. Be honest,

Atticus Finch Research Paper
A hero is a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities. They do not always
wear a cape or have superpowers, some heroes live in Alabama, in a district called Maycomb
County. Atticus Finch is a hero that transcends all other heroes for his understandings of how the
world is. In the book To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Atticus Finch was the father of Scout
And Jem, two rambunctious kids in the beginning but learn throughout the book everything isn t
always what you think it is. Atticus Finch was named the greatest heroby The American Film
Institute in June of 2003. Mr. Atticus Finch truly deserves this award not just because he was a
kind and loving single father as well as a thoughtful and dedicated member of the legal
establishment, but because of his reasoning and morals with everyday life.... Show more content on

He taught Scout and Jem that even if you try your best and don t succeed, that you should never
give up. Simple because we licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us to not to
try to win. (101) Atticus then continues on with the Tom Robinson case with confidence, even if
he knows he will get flak after the trial is over for defending a black man. While defending Tom
Robinson Atticus showed bravery as well. An act of courage that was shown was when Atticus
stood up to the inebriate and irate mob approaching him. You know what we want, get away from
the door Mr. Finch , you can turn around and go home again Walter The small finch going against
a pack of angry rabid dogs protects the egg that did no wrong doings. Atticus Finch knows how his
morals can help him in many ways, but to stand up for his morals there has to be an astonishing

Hot Potato Evaluation
Evaluation of Objectives #1
Social development: Sharing The children will respectfully share materials during play.
This developmental object was displayed through the Hot potato (share the animal) activity. The
activity consisted of a sharing action, by passing on the different animal to the next preschooler. I
believe that the objective was achieved though this activity, as except one child was eventually able
to pass along the animals properly. For example, in blue group six preschooler automatically
comprehended the objective of the game and passed the animals along smoothly, while two (G.M
and G.P) children need to be reminded that this is a sharing activity and that we need to
continuously pass along the animals. In yellow group every ... Show more content on

As I read the book about sharing and taking turns, I asked the preschoolers to describe what they
see and how the characters are feeling. The objective was only partially achieved in the yellow
group as I did not give an introduction explaining my book. This mistake could of possibly made
it more difficult for the children to describe the scenario in the story, as they did not know what
to focus on. On the other hand, I did ask questions throughout the book, prompting children to use
descriptive words to describe how the characters were feeling. For example, F.W was able to
explain and use descriptive words when answering my questions throughout the book, but at the
end of the book she was not able to describe the main theme. All eight children reacted the same
way. This is my fault as I did not specify where the preschoolers should maintain their focus.
Therefore, my second time implementing the activity allowed all eight children in the blue group
to fully achieve the objective, as I made sure to be more clear about what the children should focus
on, helping them interact and understand more thoroughly. Overall, the children reacted well to the
book as I used different tones to keep them

The War On The Front Lines
The refusal to obey orders, or a violent attempt to take control from people of authority. 1 The
Great War was a rugged time for many throughout its duration from July 28, 1914 to November
11, 1918. The speculations and thoughts of the general public and the soldiers in battle behind
the ongoing war changed drastically over the four years. The moral and willpower of the soldiers
declined heavily, and this had a large impact on how the war was fought. Many soldiers captured
their accounts of these changes in journals as diaries and there is one French soldiers diary that
accurately depicts mutiny on the front lines. There is a clear correlation between the changes in
the amount of recruits and supplies available, the manner in which the war was fought, and the
general feelings behind the war as time went on, which caused some soldiers to choose mutiny. At
the beginning of the war, the duties behind what the soldiers had to do were largely appreciated
and they were held above others as heroes. People of warring countries were rushing to battleand
their loved ones were supporting them all of the way. Battalions were even formed from work
groups, as they already withheld an established chain of command, the members had a close knit
bond, and there was a charismatic feeling about representing the country they worked in. The
glorified fighting and risking of one s life was soon changed.
The way the war was fought also fiercely changed. The battle techniques early on in 1914

Negative Effects Of Solar Eclipses
With the impending solar eclipse set to darken the skies briefly on Monday afternoon, physicians
across the country are preparing to treat cases of optical damage caused by glaring at the dark sun.
Unfortunately, many people believe that because the sun is blocked, it blocks the harmful
ultraviolet rays from reaching one s eyes, but that is not the case. Assistant professor in the
University of Alabama at Birmingham, Tamara S. Oechslin, explains it is never safe to stare
directly into the sun, and that includes during the eclipse(Janarthanan). But, these eclipses have
been occurring for thousands of years. In fact, the ancient Chinese believed that solar eclipses were
dragons devouring the sun (NASA). Obviously, the general population has come to a much stronger
understanding of what a solar eclipseentails, but they do not necessarily follow guidance related
to viewing the eclipse. In 1999, a solar eclipse occurred and several thousand people rang
helplines or attended special eclipse clinics (Dobson). However, the number of cases of solar
retinopathy than was widely feared (Dobson). Solar retinopathy is the damage caused by someone
looking at the sun with improper or no eye protection. The retina, the home of light sensing cells, is
then damaged by the harmful rays of the sun. Treatment to try and heal the effects of solar
retinopathy has proven ineffective (Dobson). Eyes are similar to the brain in terms of traumatic
injury. Once a vital organ has been harmed, it

Porter s Five Forces Apparel Industry The Threat of New Entrants within the Apparel Industry Porter s five forces model seeks to portray how attractive an industry is in relation to the five competitive forces which includes, threat of substitutes, threat of entry, bargaining power of customers, intensity of competitive rivalry and bargaining power of suppliers. The threat of new entrants of the porter s five force model refers to the threat that potential new competition pose to existing competition within the industry. This threat is the force of the model which would shape the competitive nature of the fashion and apparel industry. The fashion and apparel industry is one of high profits and this is why it has attracted many competitors. The barriers to entry are the factors which alter the entrance of potential competitors within any apparel and fashion industry. These barriers act as stops for potential competitors; which are seeking to enter. Some of these barriers to entry within the industry would include: Economics of scale; refers to the cost advantages that a company have because of its scale of operation, size and output. Economies of scale are also seen as; if there is a decline in the unit costs of a product within the industry, this would cause the volume in output to increase which in turn would be very beneficial to existing firms. This barrier forces potential new entrants to try to come in on a small scale which would force a cost disadvantage to them. • 5. The Public Education System In The United States From the beginning of its existence, the United States has pushed for a democratic society due to its strict ruling under the English monarchy. A democratic society is simply viewed as a society that is based on the ideas of democracy: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. In order to produce people who perpetuate this type of government, a proper educationis vital. American philosopher John Dewey had a vision that democracyshould work hand in hand with the education system. Dewey strongly believed that participating in a democratic society was extremely important, and he thought that the education system was the way to achieve that. In the current schooling system, every child is presented with the same luxury: the equal chance to receive a proper education. However, schooling systems stop here. Today s education system is preparing students to participate and perpetuate in a democratic society to a certain extent.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ironically, many people believe that education should be based on the three r s, or reading, writing, and arithmetic. This type of education causes the understanding of democratic ideals banish because the students are not educated on what a democracy really means nor how to perpetuate it. • 6. Record Management Running head: Records Management Name Instructor Date of submission Executive Summary An effective records management program is an integral part of an organization s effective business operations. Organizations must consider records management requirements when implementing the system management strategies or whenever they design and augment an electronic information system. Organizations are required by law to make and preserve records containing adequate and proper documentation of the organization, functions, policies, decisions, procedures, and essential transactions of the organization. This legal requirement applies to electronic records kept by the organizations as well. Organizations that do not consistently ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most important steps in all this are the definition, development, and refinement of the data model, which mostly involves treatment of the records being created or managed (Stephens, 2007). Information systems are developed according to system development methodologies, including those that organizations use to implement the electronic signature as required by the statutory bodies; which govern production and augmentation of existing records. The records life cycle usually exceeds the system development life cycle. When it does the organization involved needs to retain the particular record for a period of time longer than the life of the electronic information system that generated the electronic signature. However, this presents special challenges, such as maintaining the integrity of record in case of system migration. Background Characteristics of Trustworthy Organizational Records Reliability, authenticity, integrity, and usability are the features used to describe trustworthy records from a records management perspective. An organization needs to consider these features when laying implementation plans for ERM programs; such that it can meet its internal business and legal needs, as well as external regulations (Boiko, 2002). The degree of effort that an organization puts into ensuring that these characteristics are attained depends on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Engineers and design teams all across the country came together and wanted to make changes to buildings they build today to reduce to number of fatalities and to have more means of egress in case of an emergency. Not even years after the terriorist attacks, they came up with some changes that would help out the situation and came up with some new safety regulations. To help define U.S. citizenship I will analyze the arguments made by Scholar Rebecca Tsosie in her work, The Politics of Inclusion: Indigenous Peoples and U.S. Citizenship. According to Tsosie, a common misconception of the United Statesis that the nation was originally constructed to be inclusive and equal to all people under the Constitution. She disproves this statement by using various examples throughout American history that counter this claim. The tax information is valuable to the argument of taxation without representation in my research, which is a strength of McFarland s article. • 11. Positive And Negative Impact Of Loanwords This paper examines the positive, and negative, impact of English loanwords; currently being used in the Japanese language. Loanwords are words that have been borrowed from one language and incorporated into another; these words are sometimes integrated without any further modification. The initial consideration is as to why so many English loanwords have managed to infiltrate the Japanese language. Thereafter, the negative and positive implications for Japanese society are explored. The aim is to draw a final conclusion, based on an objective review of previous studies on the subject. Keywords: Colonization, globalization, contentious, population The Positive and Negative Impact of English Loanwords on the Japanese Language Over a prolonged period of time, the use of English has expanded to the point that is has become a truly global language. Presently, there are more than 1.5 billion English speakers worldwide; the reasons for this are varied. What is often looked past is the true meaning of concepts and ideas to retain the information needed for success. It was this very mindset instilled with in great men such as Ivan Pavlov, B.F. Things that shouldn t be all that scary but over time have developed a stimulus that causes a reaction (Field Purkis, 2012, cited in Weiten, 2017). There are four basic terms that are very key in understanding classical conditioning. First, unconditioned stimulus (UCS), is a stimulus that evokes an unconditioned response without previous conditioning (Weiten, 2017). The unconditioned stimulus is a stimulus that occurs naturally without any outside interaction. This is something that happens in a person s daily life, with no thought given to it. The second term is the unconditioned response (UCR), an unlearned reaction to a nonconditioned stimulus that occurs without previous conditioning (Weiten, 2017). This is the natural reaction to the natural stimulus. Nothing has been learned or conditioned yet, these are both baseline things happening in a natural form. Third, conditioned stimulus (CS), a previously neutral stimulus that has, through conditioning, acquired the capacity to evoke a conditioned response (Weiten, 2017). Time after time the neutral stimulus slowly become the conditioned stimulus, it has slowly been developed and learned to create a stimulus. It is not something that is recognized while it is happening, gradually helps itself in the forming of the stimulus. Lastly, the fourth term, conditioned response, a learned reaction to a conditioned stimulus that occurs because of previous conditioning (Weiten, 2017). This is where the ... • 14. Sexualized In Public Before I will discuss how I feel about women baring their breasts out in public, I personally need to consider my own. My breasts in a whole are not too large, yet not quite big either. I can personally exempt myself from being a lifetime member of the itty bitty titty community, yet I m still unable to join the big girl s gang. My breast is pretty average based off of my knowledge; having a C cup bra size isn t something to neither complain nor fret about, yet for my average size breast I do regulate and more importantly sexualized because of my boobs. I don t recall agreeing to be sexualized before I was born, but then again neither did I agree to be born in a patriarchal modern day society. I think that breast shouldn t be regulated nor condemn. Though being bare breasted in public is something that I have yet to experience or actually do in my life; I m certainly on board with this symbolical type of activism. Being bare breasted brings forth this sentiment of liberation: free from underwire and free from those annoying straps, yet it also brings forth those antagonizing stares and remarks at the same time. Is liberating your breast really worth it? Considering Bartky s analysis: not really. • 16. Rights of Man Essay Rights of Man The identity of a society is verified through the rights which are given to the citizens. The rights of man have been at many different standards throughout time. Often being very one sided, and at times striving for a median between the two sides. In Edmund Burke s essay Reflections on the Revolution in France Burke states that a king is in one sense a servant but in everyday situations they are above every individual. All persons under him owe him a legal agreement to serve his hopes. This essay will demonstrate why Thomas Paine s essay The Rights of Man is more convincing than Edmund Burke s through examination of a heredity government, the nature of rights and the uselessness of the monarchy. Paine states that rights by nature cannot be granted. He supports this by saying that if rights are granted then they can be revoked, and if they can be revoked then they can be considered privileges, not rights. He claims that they should not be an agreement between the living and the dead, but the sole benefit of the entire constituent of these two groups. This is a very good argument on Paine s behalf. For if rights leaned to the deceased side then the living will be sold short on what they are deserved. On the other hand, if it supported the other side, we would be excluding the necessary component of tradition and example. Without the component of precedents and tradition, legitimacy would be lost. The rights are constantly changing through time. Rights which are appropriate in one decade do not necessarily mean it is applicable in the next. Mans morals and expectations of each other change drastically through history. So how is it possible to accept a forever binding right? Rights are often looked upon as rewards for abiding to the regulations set out by the higher party. In my mind rights are not earned, but they are rather an extension of our social contract. Rights must be applicable to all individuals. Paine s looks down upon the monarchical ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. The Year-Round School Debate A common debate among educators and school board members is the idea of year round schooling. While many think this is best for students education, there are factors that could make it so it doesn t affect their education or it makes matters worse. Most students are great full for their summer break. They schedule family vacations, which are very important, and they are able to keep jobs with little to no conflict in the summer. If that time was to be taken away, that would negatively affect students. There are solutions other than making schoolgo all year round. A fact on year round schooling is that all schools would still take extended breaks after a set amount of dates. The US Department of Education requires 180 days of attending school a year. One idea that a school using year round school might use is the 60 20 plan. This means that students attend school for 60 days and get 20 days off. This also applies for the 45 15 and 80 30 plans. On the opposing side, researchers say that the long three months in the summer that students are not attending school is when they lose the most information. Another benefit to switching to year round schooling is that students will not get bored over the summer. They will have shorter breaks. It is also said that hiring a tutor over the summer is not as good as some may think (Kalil). The focus of this passage is the narrator s feelings about the plague s relationship with human nature. In this passage H.F. (Defoe) asserts that another plague year would reconcile all destructive differences between people. Consequently, this passage does not correspond with the expected perspective of a plague survivor. The original intent of Journal of the Plague year was to be a realistic account of the plague from the prospective of H.F., a man living in London during the great visitation of 1665. • 22. Dbq Sugar Trade The sugar trade succeeded due to the increasing demand for the product, along with the advent of European colonization of the Caribbean, and the use of slavery as an efficient workforce. The rise in demand for sugar was partially a result of the addictive properties it had, which caused people to want more of it. The islands on which the Europeans were colonizing were ideal for the growth of cane sugar, the plant that is processed into the finished sugar product. With the use of slaves, the production of sugar was happening at a much quicker and cheaper rate than before, thus creating more sugar to supply the demand. The mass of a star is the determining factor of how long it lives. A red dwarf star is a star about half the size of our Sun. Due to its extremely low fusion rate, it is estimated that they could last for 10 trillion years. A medium sized star like our Sun spends its main sequence stage up to 10 billion years. Stars like our Sun, which are no more than 1.44 solar masses, will undergo fusion of hydrogen into helium. Over its life time the star slowly uses its supply of hydrogen by fusing it into helium. These reactions require high temperatures. Eventually the star will completely fuse hydrogen into helium in its core leaving inadequate amounts of thermal pressure to balance gravity. This will cause the centre of the star to contract to compensate for the heat energy lost. As this slow contraction continues, the core temperature, density, and pressure of the star continues to increase. As the star shrinks it becomes so dense that it starts to compress helium. This results in the star to swell due to the hot core and leaving a relatively cool surface. Eventually the outer layers of the star expand outwards, increasing the size of the star. As the layers continue to expand, the surface temperature continues to cool, forming a relatively large star called a red giant. In about 5 billion years, the Sun will become a red giant. In his time he analyzed many works of art, and produced many different interpretations, one being the ideals of mirrors and windows. The concept of mirrors and windows in photography can be easily defined, but also vague as well. To state it simply, since the rest is figurative and metaphorical, mirrors are reflections of what is looking into it, and windows are panes of glass that allow you to see out. When photographing a picture, based on what you re looking at and what you re trying to capture, one can symbolize a window or a mirror. When a photo is resembling a mirror, it is an introspective narrative between the photographer and the viewer. It is an internalized dialogue when piecing it together to see the reflection. The viewer must approach it as if a literal mirror, to interpret what the message and main theme of the photo is. Meanwhile, a window is more of a direct observation; of a person, thing, or message, it doesn t matter. When a photo is symbolized as a window, one can usually see a clear message, and can decipher what the photographer was aiming to convey. Adolescence: Identity versus Role Confusion During adolescence, we ask ourselves, Who am I? Who do I want to be? Answering these questions involves integrating the healthy resolution of all earlier stages. Adolescents must explore, test limits, become autonomous from parents, and commit to an identity, or sense of self. One can only establish an identity after trying out various roles, behaviors, and ideologies. Failure to achieve a sense of identity results in role confusion, an inability to make decisions and choices about vocation, sexual orientation, and one s role in life. HelfgottВЎВ¦s stature in relation to his age appears normal his complexion pale, his face young looking for chronological age. As the children grow, they become more demanding and expectant of Haregewoin, who had become the maternal figure in their life and lose the grateful heart they once had. Despite everything Haregewoin has done for these children, [t]hey say, Haregewoin does not help us. (332). It is ironic that the children express so much ungratefulness after all the sacrifices and efforts that Haregewoin has made to ensure that the African orphans have a better life. The insistence of Haregewoin s children conveys a dramatic change in tone as the story transitions from an aspect of positivity and hope in Haregewoin s journey to save the orphaned children to Harwegewoin s desperate attempt to win back the hearts of the African children. Greene reveals an unlikely outcome of the years of sacrifice made by Haregewoin to protect and love the ungrateful children through the abruptly ungrateful attitudes of the orphans towards the only mother they have ever known. Throughout Melissa Fay Greene s memoir, There is No Me Without You, feelings of sympathy are invoked which in effect, causes readers to appreciate what they have, and are educated on a world beyond their capacity. Rhetorical questions and pathos is used to stir sympathy within readers for the African orphans with AIDs while irony is used to contradict the efforts and sacrifices of Haregewoin for the children. • 35. Unethical Ethics Of Advertising Everyday, everywhere we are being inundated with advertisements. Whether it be while you are walking down the street, shopping at the supermarket, or even in the safety of your own home enjoying some tv in your down time. Advertising, whether it be big or small is everywhere; and in fact there are many issues with it. Advertisingthat promotes a service or product in a deceptive way is highly unethical. This is because it doesn t provide the customer with enough information that they need in order to make a good, educated decision. And on another note, advertising is manipulative because of the way it promotes consumption at such a large scale. Some of the main reasons for advertising being dishonest are because it displays false savings, it exhibits unnecessary upselling and possibly most importantly, it feul s wasteful consumerism. The significance of this problem, comes in the form of the large sums of money people waste on products they don t need and once purchased, realise they don t want. Frankly it is just too overt to look past. A way that advertising is deceptive is by showing false savings. Advertising a shocking pricecut is a common marketing tactic, but some businesses inflate their prices beforehand just so they can advertise the sizable price cut. In effect, the customer does not receive a good deal because the discount reflects virtual, not actual, savings. Word s such as closeout and clearance are commonly used by companies, which give consumers the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Things were looking much better for the Pilgrims; they had better shelter, food that would last them till winter, and much more survival techniques. They decided that they were to hold a thanksgiving feast to celebrate all their good fortunes. They actually have six thanksgiving feasts a year. It all starts with the Maple Dance, followed by the Planting Feast, followed by the Strawberry Festival, followed by the Green Corn Festival, followed by the Harvest Festival, and followed by the mid winter feast, and most importantly the First Thanksgiving . It s true if you say that the friendship between the Wampanoags and the Pilgrims was true. Although the friendship was true, it did not last long. As time went by, more and more English men came to North America and didn t need any help from the Natives as much as the original Pilgrims did. Many of the people who were considered new comers forgot all about the bond and help that they had and got from the Indians. Trust started to be broken and the friendship started to die out. The pilgrims started to tell the Indians that their customs and religion was wrong. After a few years the friendship between the two died out and the children who sat together in the first thanksgiving were now fighting one another in the battle later known as, King Phillip s War . This raised questions such as: what role did race play in the creation of the American empire. Nell Irvin Painter, Walter L. Williams, Paul A. Kramer, and Bonnie M. Miller are historians that identify raceas a crucial element in the U.S. empire building. They choose to focus on different aspects and perspectives, and how racial ideas were involved in the Philippines during the Spanish American War. She asserts that As instruments of persuasion, images communicate differently than words do, reach broader audiences, and may or may not be overly political. Similar to Painter, Kramer, and Williams, Miller alludes to and comments about The White Man s Burden . She proclaims that Americans leading cartoonists constituted a white Anglo Saxon male figure of the empire and subordinated his counterparts through visual gradations of age, gender, and color. As I read the book about sharing and taking turns, I asked the preschoolers to describe what they see and how the characters are feeling. The objective was only partially achieved in the yellow group as I did not give an introduction explaining my book. On the other hand, I did ask questions throughout the book, prompting children to use descriptive words to describe how the characters were feeling. For example, F.W was able to explain and use descriptive words when answering my questions throughout the book, but at the end of the book she was not able to describe the main theme. All eight children reacted the same way. This is my fault as I did not specify where the preschoolers should maintain their focus. Therefore, my second time implementing the activity allowed all eight children in the blue group to fully achieve the objective, as I made sure to be more clear about what the children should focus on, helping them interact and understand more thoroughly. The War On The Front Lines The refusal to obey orders, or a violent attempt to take control from people of authority. 1 The Great War was a rugged time for many throughout its duration from July 28, 1914 to November 11, 1918. The speculations and thoughts of the general public and the soldiers in battle behind the ongoing war changed drastically over the four years. The moral and willpower of the soldiers declined heavily, and this had a large impact on how the war was fought. Many soldiers captured their accounts of these changes in journals as diaries and there is one French soldiers diary that accurately depicts mutiny on the front lines. There is a clear correlation between the changes in the amount of recruits and supplies available, the manner in which the war was fought, and the general feelings behind the war as time went on, which caused some soldiers to choose mutiny. At the beginning of the war, the duties behind what the soldiers had to do were largely appreciated and they were held above others as heroes. People of warring countries were rushing to battleand their loved ones were supporting them all of the way. Battalions were even formed from work groups, as they already withheld an established chain of command, the members had a close knit bond, and there was a charismatic feeling about representing the country they worked in. Negative Effects Of Solar Eclipses With the impending solar eclipse set to darken the skies briefly on Monday afternoon, physicians across the country are preparing to treat cases of optical damage caused by glaring at the dark sun. Unfortunately, many people believe that because the sun is blocked, it blocks the harmful ultraviolet rays from reaching one s eyes, but that is not the case. Assistant professor in the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Tamara S. Oechslin, explains it is never safe to stare directly into the sun, and that includes during the eclipse(Janarthanan). But, these eclipses have been occurring for thousands of years. In fact, the ancient Chinese believed that solar eclipses were dragons devouring the sun (NASA). Obviously, the general population has come to a much stronger understanding of what a solar eclipseentails, but they do not necessarily follow guidance related to viewing the eclipse. In 1999, a solar eclipse occurred and several thousand people rang helplines or attended special eclipse clinics (Dobson).
