My Symbol Of Life
Life is full of challenges and struggles, but that doesn t mean we succumb to them. You may encounter
many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter defeats, so you
can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it. (Maya Angelou)
When asked who I would consider a symbol of everything I want the decision wasn t hard to make.
My mother, Jan Birdsong, is my symbol because she has displayed self confidence, ethics, and
perseverance, which is all I dream to be. First and Foremost, Self confidence is defined by Merriam
Webster as having confidence in oneself and in one s powers and abilities. My mother has built her
self confidence through learning to like herself, cultivating a positive attitude, setting personal goals,
and taking risks to achieve them. Maintaining a positive support system through family and friends
has helped my mother keep her perspective in line with her goals. Furthermore, she chooses to
surround herself with well intended people who weigh in providing constructive opinions. Her sense
of pride represents independent, self reflection and fulfillment of achievements. Pride means
possessing personal standards that translate facets of moral character such as self respect, honor, and
dignity. Her pride demonstrates how she has pushed to accomplish her goals and her pride will not
accept anything less. The ability to accomplish something in the face of opposition is considered
courageous.

The Extraordinary Jimi Hendrix Essay
The extraordinary performances, recording, and lyrics of James Marshall Hendrix have made him
impossible to forget. This American rock music guitarist made a legendary mark not only in the
history of rock n roll but also on the pop culture as a whole (Ross 32). With unique techniques never
seen before and blatant sex related performances on stage, he became one of the most influential
music figures of the 60s (Kamin).
Hendrix was not born into stardom nor was it given to him by any means. He strived all throughout
his life to be the very best. Johnny Allen Hendrix was born on November 27, 1942 in Seattle,
Washington to Al and Lucille Hendrix, and not until four years later did his father change his son s
name to James Marshall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, he never was able to get Richard to realize his talents, so he abandoned Richard s tour
in St. Louis (Wolters, Pre Experience ).
After aimlessly wandering for awhile, Hendrix found himself in Atlanta and once again teamed up
with Little Richard. The tour brought them to Los Angeles where he then went in his own direction.
He hooked up with Richard for a third time during the summer of 1964 to record an album in which
he again felt confined as being only a backup to Little Richard (Wolters, Pre Experience ).
Hendrix later joined the budding musician Arthur Lee, but the partnership did not last long as he once
again set out in search of his own identity (Wolters, Pre Experience ). He embarked as a traveling
musician for various tours backing such artists as Ike and Tina Turner, Muddy Waters, Elmore James,
B.B. King, Chuck Berry, King Curtis, Solomon Burke, Chuck Jackson, Jackie Wilson, and several
others (Wolters, Hendrix ).
On his next endeavor, he teamed up with saxophonist Lonnie Youngblood. The pair was short lived as
Hendrix soon split, and his adventurous spirit ended him up in New York where he rented a small,
cheap apartment and drifted from job to dead end job (Wolters, Pre Experience ).
The spring of 1964 brought better luck to Hendrix. Ronnie Isley of the Isley

Nietzshean And Marx s Influence On Demian
Nietzshean And Marx s Influence On Demian
The novel Demian is highly influenced by some of Nietzsche s and Marx s ideas. Demian is an
important character that displays Nietzschean qualities of the overman (Nietzsche 125). With his
meeting with Sinclair, Demian put the seeds of doubt in Sinclair s mind about conception of truth and
the will of power that are both concepts found in Nietzsche s work. Demian also resembles Nietzsche
s character of Zarathustra and how he believes the importance of creating new set of values. The
resemblance with Marx is Demian s and Sinclair s belief that we should seek answers within ourselves
and not from a metaphysical world.
Hermann Hesse s book gets its title from his very important character Demian. ... Show more content

However, they believe that the traditional values need to be re evaluated through their journey to self
education. The man who breaks their table of values, the breaker, the lawbreaker, yet he is the creator.
(Thus Spoke Zarathustra 135). In this extract, Nietzsche introduces the relation between destruction
and creation. The creation of new values could only be possible if the creation of a new god takes
place. Unlike Nietzsche, Hesse did not transmit the message that religion was something to avoid and
completely destruct. Demian and Sinclair still want to believe in a superior figure, but a new one that
has different values than the Abrahamic god. We can think of the name as referring to something like a
deity whose symbolic task is to unite the divine and the satanic (Hesse 75). This quote refers to the
god Abraxas whom Sinclair is very interested in. He breaks the binary system created by the original

Essay about The Well Paid Receptionist
Analysis of The Well Paid Receptionist
Harvey Finley is in quite the predicament. He his company s net profit should be approximately $107,
614.21 greater than he expected for this year. The problem is that his secretary/receptionist is making
six to seven times the amount of an average good secretary/receptionist in the local market and has
been for a few years.
There s a few ways this issue can be addressed. One way would be to talk to Ms. Brannen and advice
her that there has been an oversight in her salary over the past few years and for the upcoming year the
oversight will be corrected and her salary will be adjusted to $25,000 per year with no percent of sales
bonus. Another way to address the issue is to fire the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He would have also had time to make some sales and see how the potential sales market is doing and
instead of offering her 2% in sales which obviously we now know was a bad strategy, can offer her
more upfront in salary. A person that likes the job they are doing will not leave for one or two
thousand dollars more. So Finley can be true to her and make a counter offer in hopes that she would
accept and stay. As for the other negative aspect of her getting back together with her husband in
Houston and move back there, Finley would either have to offer her a significant more salary or find
her husband a position at Troupville Business Systems.
The other important value driver to consider in establishing the Value Over Time maximization is
owner values . As the owner Finley s main concern is to keep his business running. Another concern is
to make more and more profit each year. Owners need to worry about reputation risk as well and the
well being of each of their employees. Some problems Finley is facing with his company, Troupville
Business Systems, is that he is paying his secretary more than double what his highest paid manager is
making. The problem Finley is facing is not knowing what should be done about this or how to
approach the issue. The potential problems that may arise if the current situation

Throughout history many heroes or legends have come and gone, but it never stops it will never stop.
Many would say Sir Lancelot did not deserve to be in the round table while others believed he did. He
grew up unaware of his parents or where he was born, he grew up to be a strong young man who
proved he was born to be knight but there was many distractions along the way like falling in love
with Queen Guinevere and being blamed for King Arthur s death. Sir Lancelot did deserve to be in the
Round Table even though he caused many problems but tried to overcome them.
Lancelot was nurtured by Vivien, the lady of the lake and she raised one of the most strongest and
courageous knights. It caused great distress throughout his years growing up

Sweat, By Zora Neale Hurston
Sweat, a short story written by Zora Neale Hurston depicts the story of Delia, a washerwoman who is
physically and mentally abused by her husband, Sykes. As Hurston explains, Delia is a strong,
hardworking, calm, brave, and understanding woman who is able to stand with her head held high
even through all the troubles she endures. In contrast, Sykes is abusive, a coward, troubleshooter and a
man who depends on his wife to provide for him. He even has the indecency to use Delia s money to
pay for his mistress apartment. He messes with Delia to bring her down so he can be able to bring
himself up as if his masculinity depends on it. All three symbols, which are the snake, the clothes
Delia washes, and the light play an important role in this story to highlight Delia s strength and
weaknesses which finally help her find the freedom she desires from the domestic abuse that she has
to deal with. Zora Neale Hurston was born in Notasulga, Alabama on January 7, 1891. Her father,
John Hurston, was a minister and he had several years as a mayor for that town. Her mother, Lucy
Hurston, seemed to only have her family as any worries. Her childhood seemed to be perfect, it was
free from racism and poverty (Zora 1). Although, everything changed when her mother passed away
and his father remarried and soon was sent to boarding school. She was then expelled a while after her
father stopped paying for tuition so she worked in a theatrical company as a maid (Zora 1). Quitting

The Revelation Of Jesus Christ
There is always someone who choose to deny the revelation of Jesus Christ. In this investigation, it
will be looked at how Jesus proved himself to the naysayers of his time. This will be accomplished by
looking at several different factors that include topics of was Jesus mentally ill when he claimed to be
God? How did Jesus prove that he was not only talking the talk but he was also walking the walk?
This was done the evidence of the actions he performed. Finally, an evaluation will be done to prove
that when an individual has a revelation of Jesus they are also seeing the image of God.
There could be several explanations to how Jesus considered himself to be God. According to the
article beyond blind faith, Another possibility is that Jesus was sincere but self deceived. We have a
name for a person today who thinks he is God. Mentally disabled. But as we look at the life of Christ,
we see no evidence of the abnormality and imbalance we find in a mentally ill person. Rather, we find
the greatest composure under pressure (Little, 1988).
There was no evidence of Christ being unstable in any way. To the contrary, he was an image of
stability and steadfastness. From one point of view, however, claims don t mean much. Talk is cheap.
Anyone can make claims. There have been others who have claimed to be God. I could claim to be
God, and you could claim to be God, but the question all of us must answer is, What credentials do we
bring to substantiate our claim? In my

is the most important Shinto shrine. It is dedicated to Amaterasu, and represented with three of her

The Benefits Of Video Games Is A Waste Of Time
Ever wonder why children start playing video games at such a young age? Most parents would argue
that videogames are a waste of time, and that children are receiving no long term benefits. Some video
games are designed to enhance motor skills that can help with real life situations. A few skills that can
be strengthened are reaction time and social skills. Not only do video games enhance motor skills,
they can also teach the player a little bit of lessons learned in schools depending on the game.Video
games can become an essential part of fundamental developing.
Video games have been around for decades, and have made revolutionary strides.William
Higinbotham an American physicist who created the first nuclear bomb and also invented the very
first video game Tennis for Two in 1958 (Tretkoff). Video games back then were at a basic start to see
what game developers can do next. There are many video games that require certain skills such as
reaction time. Racing games or any video game that requires driving can enhance the player s reaction
time and help defensive driving in real life. Many driving games such as Forza, Gran Turismo, and
Grand Theft Auto can help with reaction time and driving skills. In Grand Theft Auto the gamer plays
as a criminal and there are many car chase missions and the player has to maneuver through traffic,
alleyways, and avoiding pedestrians all at the same time. These skills are essential and can help in real

M Night Shyamalan Stereotypes
In the movie, Unbreakable, directed by M. Night Shyamalan the main character David Dunn has a
sharp intuition, better than average strength, and a natural immunity to getting injured or sick, rather
than superpowers that his son and Elijah Price believe him to have. To begin with, David Dunn has
honed his instincts to sense danger due to his current position as a security guard. From many years as
a security guard, David has gained the ability to sense criminals. However, this is not a supernatural
talent since one can guess who is a potential criminal by using stereotypes. For example, the man
David assumed to have a gun was wearing a camouflage army jacket and people with that type of
style are usually violent or like to show off. In addition, David could have smelt alcohol from the
person in the army jacket. As for being able to guess the color of the gun handle, David himself said
that he had a one out of two chance of guessing correctly and he could have gotten a glimpse of the
gun when he turned around for a double take. Besides the gun ... Show more content on

David was able to lift three hundred fifty pounds during his workout with his son. The fact that David

which requires him to be at his physical peak. Also, David was an athlete in college, so physical
strength is important to him. His earliest show of strength was when he pulled the car door off its
hinges after he was in a car accident with Audrey, his present wife. People can perform great physical
feats when in emergencies, like a car accident, due to adrenaline. Moreover, David was a star football
player at the time, so he was also in his physical prime. Therefore, David s extraordinary strength is

Joseph Stalin s Ignorance
On the death of Vladimir Lenin in 1924, competition emerged between leading Bolsheviks Leon
Trotsky and Joseph Stalin to succeed as Soviet leader. There were several reasons why Stalin, rather
than Trotsky, succeeded Lenin such as Trotsky s ignorance; Stalin s cunning; Trotsky s arrogance;
Stalin s ever increasing influence and Trotsky s relaxed attitude. In this essay I will be exploring the
contribution of Stalin s cunning, and both Trotsky s arrogance and ignorance that resulted in Stalin s
succession and Trotsky s fall from grace. Despite starting his political journey as a supporter of the
Menshevik wing (peaceful communism), Leon Trotsky became one of the paramount powers of the
Bolshevik party, leading their Red Army to victory during the Russian civil war of 1918 to 1921; so ...

This may have presented the committee members an attitude of superiority by Trotsky, as though he
was too important to be dealing with such inferior men and their childish matters.
Similarly, Trotsky seemed to be ignorant of Stalin s determination and no boundaries attitude to
becoming leader. Deutscher also wrote that Trotsky refrained from attacking Stalin as he felt secure .
In her book, Stalin: Man of Steel (1968), Elizabeth Roberts states that there was little doubt about the
Red Army s support of Trotsky, should he try to seize power. However, he failed to use his popularity
with the Red Army to his advantage because he did not recognise the threat of Stalin and the possible
future need he could have had for them.
It also appears that Trotsky did not realise his removal from his position of Head of the Army by Stalin
s suggestion was part of the latter s plan to clinch power and Robert s report states that Trotsky made

Music is a form of art that affects everyone in one way or another. Music is a piece of art that fully
reflects the artist s feelings or lifelong experiences. Art affects everyone emotionally and everyone can
relate to music because the lyrics are meaningful in every way just like a story. For example,
XXXTentacion s music reflects his feelings and his emotional struggles and how he had problems
with suicide and clinical depression. I relate to one of his songs, Everybody Dies in Their Nightmares
.
In this song, he talks about how he is trapped in his mind. The line Tired of feeling like I am trapped
in my damn mind demonstrates this very clearly. By this, he means that he is stuck feeling the same
emotions, is depressed and not able to change. I relate to this line from the song because I have dealt
with a lot of emotional issues related to my childhood. This song is a reminder of my past issues and
helps to remind myself that life is worth living and that all my efforts were worth it. XXXTentacion

Explroing the Social Groups to Which Reformation Appealed in Sixteenth Century Germany
During the early Sixteenth Century the church was the most powerful constitution in the world. So,
how was its power reduced so dramatically in the space of one century and where did support for the
reformation lie?
The question of which social groups the reformation appealed to can be answered by addressing which
sectors of society supported Martin Luther, The Father of Protestantism. The aspects which need to be
considered are how Catholicism influenced the daily lives of towns and cities and what difference the
introduction of a new religion produced, how Martin Luther managed to openly speak out ... Show

So, Luther penned against the murderous, pillaging hordes of peasants and by May 1925 state leaders
had raised and army to defeat the rebels.
The peasant revolt played a very important part in the reformation and had massive consequences.
Luther, an educated man knew he could not be associated to rebels and would need friends in higher
places in order to escape excommunication. By turning his back to the peasants he showed to the
princes that Luther could be trusted with regards to issues such as social stability, he showed those in
power he was on the right side. His condemnation of the peasantry also appealed to the middle class
due to his representation of social stability, they too were fearful for their property. Although the
enormous peasantry turned away from Lutheranism and instead became part of the Anabaptist
Movement, this in turn helped the reformation succeed, as it gave Luther a chance to attract the small
majority of nobles and bourgeoisie.
It has now been established that Luther desperately wanted the reformation to appeal to nobility and
the majority of nobles did support the reformation however, the only side they were on, was their own.

Alexis De Tocquevilles Jury System
The jury is a magistracy , as described by Alexis de Tocqueville, happens to be one of the greatest
attributes of the democratic system. The jury is a sworn body of people called together to give an
impartial verdict or to even set a penalty or judgement which is submitted to them by a court. In other
words, they are to decide upon the truth or falseness of factual allegations based on the facts that they
have found. In order to weigh up the evidence and decide the accurate facts of the case, the jury has to

Following Windows 7 installation there are several configuration options changed to control what the
user is allowed to do on the computer once they receive it. One configuration change applied restricts
the user from installing additional software. Removing the user from the Local Administrators group
on the computer achieves this. However, the computer technician can install software for a user by

Analysis of Labor and Employment Law Essay
One of the key provisions of the Family Medical Leave Act is that, in general, the employer is not
responsible for the cost of the employee leaving, in terms of pay. While an employee may elect, or an
employer may require the employee to substitute any of the accord paid vacation leave, personal
leave, or medical or sick leave (Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, § 102, 2006), the employer is
otherwise not obligated to pay the employee straight pay, as the leave is considered, as stated under
sub section C of Section 102 of the FMLA to be unpaid leave. It s important to distinguish then, in the
given situation, if the employee intends to, or if the employer requires, that the employee use any
pools of benefit time, such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s important to note that the given situation specifically states that Employee B was denied a
promotion, which is a violation as defined under Section 4 of the Age Discrimination in Employment
Act, which states, it shall be unlawful for an employer to limit in any way which would deprive or
tend to deprive any individual of employment opportunities or otherwise adversely affect his status as
an employee, because of such individual s age (The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967,
§ 4, 1967). There could be an argument in the employer s favor of the action if the employee that was
promoted were 40 years old or older, however, since the promoted employee was only 32 years old,
this proves that a violation occurred, as the promoted employee is not also protected under the Age
Discrimination in Employment Act.
Situation C.
When reviewing Situation C it s important to clearly understand, in the context of the Americans with
Disabilities Act, both the intention of the Act as well as the definitions of both undue hardship and
reasonable accommodation. The Americans with Disabilities Act provides interesting context in
Section 12101, in which it discusses that, in general, it s important that a person with a disability, or
perceived to have a disability, be protected and not precluded, and that these protections be broad in
scope and a disability under

Kingsford Charcoal Case Study Analysis
Executive Summary
In this case study, we will be analyzing the current position of how well Kingsford is within the
marketplace and determine which of the issues are plausible causes in its drop in revenue. We will be
creating a comprehensive strategy as well as a marketing plan to evaluate and adjust the matter at
hand. First we will begin with identifying the issues and implementing a method to reemphasize the
importance of marketing in the business. The goal is to create a marketing plan that will add value to
Kingsford s market share, sales, and profitability. It is evident that Kingsford is a superior product to
its competitors such as Royal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many purchases are currently made during grilling seasons such as spring and summer but by
transitioning the product towards the fall would increase the profit margin.
A second alternative could be to increase their advertising budget because it has been the only brand
within the charcoal industry that has been advertising. Their advertising budget is currently very low
so with an increase in spending it could definitely generate more attraction and promote Kingsford
charcoal as the better alternative.
Thirdly, option is to strategically adjust the prices of their products because consumers are often very
price sensitive. By doing so the company can either create more value that defines the quality and
quantity of the product.
Lastly, the company suggest to expand their current inventory through increasing production and
capacity. With the increase in production rate the company can gain more consumers as a whole
through supply and demand. Doing this would give the company an opportunity for more exposure
and perhaps better brand recognition.
Analysis of Alternatives America has been known for their traditional methods of charcoal grilling as
barbecuing is such a necessity in celebrating a holiday or a joyous occasion. But as the years go by,

Genetically Engineered Crops Essay
Many of our crops today are what you would call genetically engineered. This means that certain
plants are taken to a lab where specific genes are genetically enhanced with desired traits such as
resistance to herbicides, insecticides, drought, and even improved nutritional content. While that may
sound like a win for everyone such as the farmers as well as the consumers, there are many
disadvantages that not only affect our health, but our environment as well as the economy. With
several facts that have been shown, the good in GE crops should not outweigh the bad and in the end,
we may be solving a problem now, but creating a much bigger one for our future. Genetically
Engineered crops were first introduced 1996. They now constitute ... Show more content on

The next great idea was to have GE crops with insecticides. This meant less use of pest control sprays
to keep out the unwanted insects. However, just like the theory of the super weed many insects have
become more tolerable to the insecticides used in the crops like some populations of mosquitos did to
the now banned pesticide DDT. Not only that, but some GE crops with insecticides have already
caused unintentional harm to many non crop damaging insects such as the monarch caterpillars. The
fear is that the pollen from the GE insecticide crops will blow over to a neighboring non GE crop such
as milkweed which caterpillars feed on. If the monarch caterpillars eat the GE crop pollen they will
die. Unfortunately, there is no way to create a toxin that only kills crop damaging insects (Harmful or
Helpful?). Another reason why genetically engineered crops are seriously flawed and should not be
grown for the safety of the environment that surrounds them. Unfortunately the bad news doesn t stop
there, it gets worse and it s at the expense of our health. In 1990 a study was done on rats who were
fed GE tomatoes. Not long after many of the 40 rats developed stomach lesions and 7 of them died
after only 2 weeks of testing. That s just

Overlook Hotel Analysis
Jack Torrance is very unsettled, unhappy and lies in his desire. He has a potential to be a good father, a
good husband and a good writer. However, his temper, his alcoholism and the memory of his abusive
acholic father had made him a monster. Losing his goodness after alcoholism took over him, he has
becoming weak. The evil of Overlook Hotel expanded the demon in Jack and took over him through
time. Some of the way the hotel locked down Jack as part of the evil inside it is by the scrapbook. Jack
found the scrapbook while snooping around in the boiler room. For Jack, the scrapbook is an idea for
his novel he wants to write. His wishes of wring this novel keeps Jake wanting to stay at the Overlook.
This scrapbook made him extremely powerless and hooked in knowing more about the secret of

The Impact of Advertising on Perceived Gender Roles
The role and function of advertising is a debatable one. Most would argue that since it is not intended
to be a governmental aid in ensuring and creating opportunities for equality, we are unable to expect
such efforts to be made within this industry. Advertisers have the job of selling, to persuade and
increase consumption as to satisfy the capitalist s pockets. The play on social injustice often associated
with this particular industry makes it relevant to question it though. Male dominance in this area is
evident, but are we not even to view men and women as equal in terms of being potential consumers?
As illustrated by Spurlock and this piece of research, it is extremely difficult to not involve
advertisement in vocabulary and certain approaches to societal understanding. The present branding
culture is apparent and it is close to impossible to not have an opinion regarding this matter, which
incidentally causes discussion and debate, which in turn furthers the word of mouth usage of brands.
The impact of advertising on perceived gender roles is quite evident, and with plenty of consequences,
some of which we might not yet have experienced the full effect of. It is important to remember that
with a socialized consumer identity, the choices we make are not individual ones, but is initiated by
the manipulative skills of others . The high extent of advertisement we are put through on a daily basis
makes it very difficult to reflect upon the idea of choices and individual

Mad Men Symbolism
The 1960 s was still in the midst of the throwaway society. Everyone wanted everything new.
Anything that was old or outdated was thrown into the garbage. There was no talk about recycling. In
one scene Don is having a picnic with his family and when they are done, don s wife flips over the
picnic blanket and scatters their leftover litter everywhere, don also throws his finished beer can into
the lake. The symbolism is that they are materialistic. They check their hands, so they don t dirty the
car, but it s okay to pollute the property they don t own.
Unhealthy habits were not questioned in the 1960 s. Consequently, as long as everyone got along and
looked the part an unhealthy habit was ignored. Advertisement dominated many people s decision
making reasoning. If people saw an ad encouraging smoking they wanted to smoke as well. You never
second guessed what you were told or else you were thought of as a rebel or someone who went
against the grains of society. Such as Smoking in the 1960 s was the thing to do; it was not questioned.
It would be equivalent to owning a cell phone today or not owning one. You are considered odd if you
didn t follow along. Roger Sterling is one character in Mad Men rarely seen without a glass of vodka
in his hand even at work. Drinking and smoking on the job was the social norm, as long as everyone
behaved, it was accepted.
Women s role in society was to behave and shape themselves to fit into men s ideals. Peggy upon

Courtroom Analysis
When someone steps into the courtroom it requires that person to change how they act, to change how
they present themselves, and to change who they are. When I stepped into the courtroom at the
National Judicial Competition my whole world changed. However, it didn t happen all at once. The
process began months before I arrived in Chicago. It started the day I accepted the invitation from the
state office. That day the little boy inside of me began to fade. A boy stepped off the bus and
methodically picked a path around puddles on his way home. He bounded up the front steps, grabbed
a handful of letters, and pushed open the door. It wasn t until he tossed the letters onto the counter that
he saw the powder blue envelope with his name on it. He tore open the sealed flap and pulled out a
simple, understated letter. He read it once, then again to make sure it was really addressed to him.
Immediately the excitement and the anxiety of being accepted swirled in his head. He knew this would
eclipse anything he had done before. Standing there next to the counter he decided he would go.
Without knowing it, making that decision slowly began to shape him from the inside. It started
invisible transformation that ended up defining who he is. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Economic Growth Essay
Economic Growth Economic growth refers to the rate of increase in the total production of goods and
services within an economy. Economic growth increases the productivity capacity of an economy,
thereby allowing more wants to be satisfied. A growing economy increases employment opportunities,
stimulates business enterprise and innovation. A sustained economic growth is fundamental to any
nation wishing to raise its standard of living and provide a greater well being for all. Gross domestic
product (GDP) is the monetary value of all final goods and services produced over a year. It is the
total value of production within the economy. The total value of production is the total value of the

Real GDP is measured by the following formula; [(current year quantity) x (based year price)]. A more
reliable measure of economic growth is real GDP per capita; this measurement takes into account both
the total production of the nation and the total population. Real GDP per capita measures the real
income per head of the population.
This can be measured by the following formula; Per capita nominal GDP = Nominal GDP /
Population, Per capita real GDP = Real GDP / Population. Seven factors determine economic growth.
Natural resources such as land, mineral deposits, waterways; climatic conditions provide an essential
foundation to economic growth. Combined with the other resources of capital, labor and enterprises,
natural resources can be developed and organized to increase the productive capacity if the nation.
Consequently the quality and size of the labor force is a major determinant of economic growth.
Education and vocational training are essential the growth potential of a nation. The promotion of
education and job training schemes increase the knowledge, skills and flexibility of the workforce that
contributes to potentially higher levels of productivity and efficiency. Whether from natural increase
or immigration population growth can cause a higher level of economic growth. An increasing
population requires increased public spending on housing, education and other social needs while

I believe that HBCUs are still significant in today s society. Historically Black Colleges and
Universities gives us an example of how Black Americans can be successful, even as a minority to
white supremacy. They provide an important space for equality and rights that we have as blacks in
the United States. HBCUs have an important history behind and they shows us that blacks are
obligated of having an education and a successful future just as well as others. For most of the past
two centuries, African Americans were forced to attend segregated colleges, and HBCUs played an
important role during that period. Which was our foundation into our higher education. As a black

college. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

evidence to prove a HBCUs significance to black success. HBCUs provide leadership, an excellent
education, and a great foundation into our future. Some of the best colleges in the United States are
HBCUs such as Howard University or Spelman University. We have many examples for the
significance a HBCU can achieve. There are successful blacks such as Samuel L. Jackson who
attended Morehouse College, or Oprah Winfrey who attended Tennessee State University.

The Weight Reduction Of The Drive Shaft
Abstract Almost all automobiles (at least those which correspond to design with rear wheel drive and
front engine installation) have transmission shafts. The weight reduction of the drive shaft can have a
certain role in the general weight reduction of the vehicle and is a highly desirable goal, if it can be
achieved without increase in cost and decrease in quality and reliability. It is possible to achieve
design of composite drive shaft with less weight to increase the first natural frequency of the shaft and
to decrease the bending stresses using various stacking sequences. By doing the same, maximize the
torque transmission and torsional buckling capabilities are also maximized.
Key Words: Propeller shaft, Drive shaft, optimization, Composite material, Composite drive shaft
design etc. INTRODUCTION
The advanced composite materials such as Graphite, Carbon, Kevlar and Glass with suitable resins are
widely used because of their high specific strength (strength / density) and high specific modulus
(modulus / density). Advanced composite materials seem ideally suited for long, power driver shaft
(propeller shaft) applications. Their elastic properties can be tailored to increase the torque they can
carry as well as the rotational speed at which they operate. The drive shafts are used in automotive,
aircraft and aerospace applications. The automotive industry is exploiting composite material
technology for structural components construction in order to obtain the reduction

Reca Protein Analysis
RecA, derived from Escherichia coli, is a multipurpose protein that plays pivotal roles in the three
essential and correlated biological events of homologous recombination, regulation of expression to
unlinked genes due to DNA damage (also known as the SOS response), and mutagenesis. Within this
gamut of processes in which RecA aids, the protein is specifically needed to drive three biochemical
actions: interchanging homologous DNA, processing effector proteins for the SOS induction, and
communicating between mutagenic proteins factors to drive synthesis past DNA lesions. Homologous
recombination, the process in which double stranded DNA split and recombine between segments by
sequence similarity to create new variations of alleles, is facilitated ... Show more content on

involved in ATP binding (7). Amino acids lysine and threonine live near this P loop and directly
interact with phosphate groups in ATP. Alongside, two disordered loops named L1 and L2 bind to

the essential functions for RecA in DNA binding, they are highly conserved. Between the α helix G

American literature but I didn t really know any history behind it. I ve read some of Shakespeare s

always thought he was a crazy playwright who wrote in a tongue that not really anyone but the
teachers understood. By researching about this person, I m able to gain new knowledge that I had not

Shakespeare has just improved the amount of things I know in my life. I know how life back then was
for someone as famous as Shakespeare. I know that he was just someone who was pretty much normal
until he created his famous writing style. I can kind of relate to Shakespeare because our childhoods
were somewhat similar in that we both grew up in just a middle class family. We weren t really
anything special until we went on to discover who we truly were. Learning about Shakespeare also
helps me understand a little more about The Taming of the Shrew. I know that because this book is a

not only able to gain extra knowledge for myself but also a bit of background for the book we re going

The Commodification Of Baseball Players
The Commodification of Baseball Players English Culminating Clayton Lyons Over the years the
great game of baseball has developed and evolved into much more than just America s Favourite Past
Time . It is now a globalized, highly profit motivated industry that seems to have a greater interest in
mass producing players into their commodity chain. In today s game there is a wide variety of
ethnicities in the Major Leagues, ranging from the Dominican Republic and Cuba all the way to
China, Korea and Japan. Now, I am one of the many who believe it is not a bad thing to have this wide
range of nationalities but the difficult journeys and hardships that many of the international players
have had to face on their road to the show can be considered unfair when compared to the average
North American ball player. Even though the conditions for the majority of Major League players are
very luxurious, they are all treated as commodities in some ways by the millionaire owners, baseball
executives and scouts. Prospects are graded on a five tool system and only the players who fit all five
categories are given the generous signing bonuses. If you do not have the skills or if the scouts do not
believe you will ever achieve those skills you are considered to be inferior or substandard. That is
what the book Moneyball is about, it describes the process that Billy Beane, the GM of the low
budgeted Oakland A s had to use to find value in the players that were tossed aside and undervalued.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Hypothesis Significance...
Null hypothesis significance testing (NHST)
Sir Ronald Fisher introduced NHST in 1925 and since then it has been a keystone foundation in the
inferential statistical analysis of research data (Tryon 2001). Inferential statistics is a line of statistics
that is widely used by researchers in social sciences to help obtain a value for the population under
study (Argyrous 2011). The NHST is predominantly known as the experimenter s pillar for
constructing inductive inferences from populations under study (Kreueger 2010).
The null hypothesis is defined by Frick (1996) as a statistical calculation constructed in such a way
that there is no difference between two variables and assuming that the null is always true, then a p
value is calculated which is predictably defined as the probability of obtaining a pattern of results that
are statistically insignificant and to indicate if a relationship between two variables exists or not
(Argyrous 2011). However, the calculation of NHST ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the great deal of controversies about the null hypothesis yet it still dominates the field of
social sciences and it is still being used in research that involves scientific psychology (Krueger 2010).
Another prominent weakness of NHST is that it does not give any indication of the magnitude of the
statistical relationships between the two variables under study. However, the NHST reduces the
statistical inference to a process of a binary decision making and that is making a choice between two
alternatives (Sim and Reid 1999). Furthermore, it seems useless and senseless to test a hypothesis that
is almost certainly false any way and that might encourage an undesired, binary focus on data
outcomes (Killeen

Components Of Continuous Quality Improvement
Quality improvement has philosophical components by emphasizing satisfaction with the consumer
(patient, provider, and payer) and health outcomes by focusing on having a mission, values, and
objectives to measure performance and implementation (Sollecito Johnson, 2013, p. 11). In order to
create this, they review the whole system of service by gathering information from the system
operation and patient, so that one can understand the root cause of the information (Sollecito Johnson,
2013, p. 12). Furthermore, quality improvement emphasizes wanting to find multiple roots of
causation, and seeks solutions that fix a multitude of functions, so that the process is optimized
(Sollecito Johnson, 2013, p. 12). Lastly, emphasizing continuous improvement and analysis on
systems that will allow the medical personnel to improve continually the quality of care given
(Sollecito Johnson, 2013, p. 12). In order to facilitate the philosophical components of continuous
quality improvement, a strong emphasis on structural components helps to facilitate continuous
quality by utilizing improvement teams that have been empowered to deal with existing issues of the
organization (Sollecito Johnson, 2013, p. 12). The process improvement team uses a continuous
quality improvement tool or tools, which are the following: flowcharts, cause and effect diagram,
histograms, Pareto charts, run charts, control charts, and regression analyses to understand the issues

Tv Show Diversity
What really is considered too white? Why doesn t tv show more of a color diversity? Should television
even be used to demonstrate equality between whites and people of color? Although it may be true,
there are statically more white s than black s in the U.S. ranging from 75.1% to 12.3% according to
the Demographic Statistics. However as the years continue on, equality between African Americans
and whites are still being battled throughout the U.S. as African Americans are still being slandered

  • 2. My Symbol Of Life Life is full of challenges and struggles, but that doesn t mean we succumb to them. You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it. (Maya Angelou) When asked who I would consider a symbol of everything I want the decision wasn t hard to make. My mother, Jan Birdsong, is my symbol because she has displayed self confidence, ethics, and perseverance, which is all I dream to be. First and Foremost, Self confidence is defined by Merriam Webster as having confidence in oneself and in one s powers and abilities. My mother has built her self confidence through learning to like herself, cultivating a positive attitude, setting personal goals, and taking risks to achieve them. Maintaining a positive support system through family and friends has helped my mother keep her perspective in line with her goals. Furthermore, she chooses to surround herself with well intended people who weigh in providing constructive opinions. Her sense of pride represents independent, self reflection and fulfillment of achievements. Pride means possessing personal standards that translate facets of moral character such as self respect, honor, and dignity. Her pride demonstrates how she has pushed to accomplish her goals and her pride will not accept anything less. The ability to accomplish something in the face of opposition is considered courageous. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Extraordinary Jimi Hendrix Essay The extraordinary performances, recording, and lyrics of James Marshall Hendrix have made him impossible to forget. This American rock music guitarist made a legendary mark not only in the history of rock n roll but also on the pop culture as a whole (Ross 32). With unique techniques never seen before and blatant sex related performances on stage, he became one of the most influential music figures of the 60s (Kamin). Hendrix was not born into stardom nor was it given to him by any means. He strived all throughout his life to be the very best. Johnny Allen Hendrix was born on November 27, 1942 in Seattle, Washington to Al and Lucille Hendrix, and not until four years later did his father change his son s name to James Marshall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, he never was able to get Richard to realize his talents, so he abandoned Richard s tour in St. Louis (Wolters, Pre Experience ). After aimlessly wandering for awhile, Hendrix found himself in Atlanta and once again teamed up with Little Richard. The tour brought them to Los Angeles where he then went in his own direction. He hooked up with Richard for a third time during the summer of 1964 to record an album in which he again felt confined as being only a backup to Little Richard (Wolters, Pre Experience ). Hendrix later joined the budding musician Arthur Lee, but the partnership did not last long as he once again set out in search of his own identity (Wolters, Pre Experience ). He embarked as a traveling musician for various tours backing such artists as Ike and Tina Turner, Muddy Waters, Elmore James, B.B. King, Chuck Berry, King Curtis, Solomon Burke, Chuck Jackson, Jackie Wilson, and several others (Wolters, Hendrix ). On his next endeavor, he teamed up with saxophonist Lonnie Youngblood. The pair was short lived as Hendrix soon split, and his adventurous spirit ended him up in New York where he rented a small, cheap apartment and drifted from job to dead end job (Wolters, Pre Experience ). The spring of 1964 brought better luck to Hendrix. Ronnie Isley of the Isley ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Nietzshean And Marx s Influence On Demian Nietzshean And Marx s Influence On Demian The novel Demian is highly influenced by some of Nietzsche s and Marx s ideas. Demian is an important character that displays Nietzschean qualities of the overman (Nietzsche 125). With his meeting with Sinclair, Demian put the seeds of doubt in Sinclair s mind about conception of truth and the will of power that are both concepts found in Nietzsche s work. Demian also resembles Nietzsche s character of Zarathustra and how he believes the importance of creating new set of values. The resemblance with Marx is Demian s and Sinclair s belief that we should seek answers within ourselves and not from a metaphysical world. Hermann Hesse s book gets its title from his very important character Demian. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, they believe that the traditional values need to be re evaluated through their journey to self education. The man who breaks their table of values, the breaker, the lawbreaker, yet he is the creator. (Thus Spoke Zarathustra 135). In this extract, Nietzsche introduces the relation between destruction and creation. The creation of new values could only be possible if the creation of a new god takes place. Unlike Nietzsche, Hesse did not transmit the message that religion was something to avoid and completely destruct. Demian and Sinclair still want to believe in a superior figure, but a new one that has different values than the Abrahamic god. We can think of the name as referring to something like a deity whose symbolic task is to unite the divine and the satanic (Hesse 75). This quote refers to the god Abraxas whom Sinclair is very interested in. He breaks the binary system created by the original God of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Essay about The Well Paid Receptionist Analysis of The Well Paid Receptionist Harvey Finley is in quite the predicament. He his company s net profit should be approximately $107, 614.21 greater than he expected for this year. The problem is that his secretary/receptionist is making six to seven times the amount of an average good secretary/receptionist in the local market and has been for a few years. There s a few ways this issue can be addressed. One way would be to talk to Ms. Brannen and advice her that there has been an oversight in her salary over the past few years and for the upcoming year the oversight will be corrected and her salary will be adjusted to $25,000 per year with no percent of sales bonus. Another way to address the issue is to fire the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As for the other negative aspect of her getting back together with her husband in Houston and move back there, Finley would either have to offer her a significant more salary or find her husband a position at Troupville Business Systems. The other important value driver to consider in establishing the Value Over Time maximization is owner values . As the owner Finley s main concern is to keep his business running. Another concern is to make more and more profit each year. Owners need to worry about reputation risk as well and the well being of each of their employees. Some problems Finley is facing with his company, Troupville Business Systems, is that he is paying his secretary more than double what his highest paid manager is making. The problem Finley is facing is not knowing what should be done about this or how to approach the issue. The potential problems that may arise if the current situation ... • 11. Sweat, By Zora Neale Hurston Sweat, a short story written by Zora Neale Hurston depicts the story of Delia, a washerwoman who is physically and mentally abused by her husband, Sykes. As Hurston explains, Delia is a strong, hardworking, calm, brave, and understanding woman who is able to stand with her head held high even through all the troubles she endures. In contrast, Sykes is abusive, a coward, troubleshooter and a man who depends on his wife to provide for him. He even has the indecency to use Delia s money to pay for his mistress apartment. He messes with Delia to bring her down so he can be able to bring himself up as if his masculinity depends on it. All three symbols, which are the snake, the clothes Delia washes, and the light play an important role in this story to highlight Delia s strength and weaknesses which finally help her find the freedom she desires from the domestic abuse that she has to deal with. Zora Neale Hurston was born in Notasulga, Alabama on January 7, 1891. Her father, John Hurston, was a minister and he had several years as a mayor for that town. Her mother, Lucy Hurston, seemed to only have her family as any worries. Her childhood seemed to be perfect, it was free from racism and poverty (Zora 1). Although, everything changed when her mother passed away and his father remarried and soon was sent to boarding school. She was then expelled a while after her father stopped paying for tuition so she worked in a theatrical company as a maid (Zora 1). Quitting that job, at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Revelation Of Jesus Christ There is always someone who choose to deny the revelation of Jesus Christ. In this investigation, it will be looked at how Jesus proved himself to the naysayers of his time. This will be accomplished by looking at several different factors that include topics of was Jesus mentally ill when he claimed to be God? How did Jesus prove that he was not only talking the talk but he was also walking the walk? This was done the evidence of the actions he performed. Finally, an evaluation will be done to prove that when an individual has a revelation of Jesus they are also seeing the image of God. There could be several explanations to how Jesus considered himself to be God. According to the article beyond blind faith, Another possibility is that Jesus was sincere but self deceived. We have a name for a person today who thinks he is God. Mentally disabled. But as we look at the life of Christ, we see no evidence of the abnormality and imbalance we find in a mentally ill person. Rather, we find the greatest composure under pressure (Little, 1988). There was no evidence of Christ being unstable in any way. To the contrary, he was an image of stability and steadfastness. From one point of view, however, claims don t mean much. Talk is cheap. Anyone can make claims. There have been others who have claimed to be God. I could claim to be God, and you could claim to be God, but the question all of us must answer is, What credentials do we bring to substantiate our claim? In my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. M Night Shyamalan Stereotypes In the movie, Unbreakable, directed by M. Night Shyamalan the main character David Dunn has a sharp intuition, better than average strength, and a natural immunity to getting injured or sick, rather than superpowers that his son and Elijah Price believe him to have. To begin with, David Dunn has honed his instincts to sense danger due to his current position as a security guard. From many years as a security guard, David has gained the ability to sense criminals. However, this is not a supernatural talent since one can guess who is a potential criminal by using stereotypes. For example, the man David assumed to have a gun was wearing a camouflage army jacket and people with that type of style are usually violent or like to show off. In addition, David could have smelt alcohol from the person in the army jacket. As for being able to guess the color of the gun handle, David himself said that he had a one out of two chance of guessing correctly and he could have gotten a glimpse of the gun when he turned around for a double take. Besides the gun ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... David was able to lift three hundred fifty pounds during his workout with his son. His earliest show of strength was when he pulled the car door off its hinges after he was in a car accident with Audrey, his present wife. People can perform great physical feats when in emergencies, like a car accident, due to adrenaline. Moreover, David was a star football player at the time, so he was also in his physical prime. There were several reasons why Stalin, rather than Trotsky, succeeded Lenin such as Trotsky s ignorance; Stalin s cunning; Trotsky s arrogance; Stalin s ever increasing influence and Trotsky s relaxed attitude. In this essay I will be exploring the contribution of Stalin s cunning, and both Trotsky s arrogance and ignorance that resulted in Stalin s succession and Trotsky s fall from grace. Despite starting his political journey as a supporter of the Menshevik wing (peaceful communism), Leon Trotsky became one of the paramount powers of the Bolshevik party, leading their Red Army to victory during the Russian civil war of 1918 to 1921; so ... Music is a piece of art that fully reflects the artist s feelings or lifelong experiences. Art affects everyone emotionally and everyone can relate to music because the lyrics are meaningful in every way just like a story. For example, XXXTentacion s music reflects his feelings and his emotional struggles and how he had problems with suicide and clinical depression. I relate to one of his songs, Everybody Dies in Their Nightmares . In this song, he talks about how he is trapped in his mind. The line Tired of feeling like I am trapped in my damn mind demonstrates this very clearly. By this, he means that he is stuck feeling the same emotions, is depressed and not able to change. I relate to this line from the song because I have dealt with a lot of emotional issues related to my childhood. William Shakespeare has just improved the amount of things I know in my life. I know how life back then was for someone as famous as Shakespeare. I know that he was just someone who was pretty much normal until he created his famous writing style. I can kind of relate to Shakespeare because our childhoods were somewhat similar in that we both grew up in just a middle class family. We weren t really anything special until we went on to discover who we truly were. Learning about Shakespeare also helps me understand a little more about The Taming of the Shrew. I know that because this book is a comedy, he wrote this in the early years of his career. By doing this research on Shakespeare, I was not only able to gain extra knowledge for myself but also a bit of background for the book we re going to read. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 37. The Commodification Of Baseball Players The Commodification of Baseball Players English Culminating Clayton Lyons Over the years the great game of baseball has developed and evolved into much more than just America s Favourite Past Time . It is now a globalized, highly profit motivated industry that seems to have a greater interest in mass producing players into their commodity chain. In today s game there is a wide variety of ethnicities in the Major Leagues, ranging from the Dominican Republic and Cuba all the way to China, Korea and Japan. Now, I am one of the many who believe it is not a bad thing to have this wide range of nationalities but the difficult journeys and hardships that many of the international players have had to face on their road to the show can be considered unfair when compared to the average North American ball player. Even though the conditions for the majority of Major League players are very luxurious, they are all treated as commodities in some ways by the millionaire owners, baseball executives and scouts. Prospects are graded on a five tool system and only the players who fit all five categories are given the generous signing bonuses. If you do not have the skills or if the scouts do not believe you will ever achieve those skills you are considered to be inferior or substandard. That is what the book Moneyball is about, it describes the process that Billy Beane, the GM of the low budgeted Oakland A s had to use to find value in the players that were tossed aside and undervalued. ... • 38. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Hypothesis Significance... Null hypothesis significance testing (NHST) Sir Ronald Fisher introduced NHST in 1925 and since then it has been a keystone foundation in the inferential statistical analysis of research data (Tryon 2001). Inferential statistics is a line of statistics that is widely used by researchers in social sciences to help obtain a value for the population under study (Argyrous 2011). The NHST is predominantly known as the experimenter s pillar for constructing inductive inferences from populations under study (Kreueger 2010). The null hypothesis is defined by Frick (1996) as a statistical calculation constructed in such a way that there is no difference between two variables and assuming that the null is always true, then a p value is calculated which is predictably defined as the probability of obtaining a pattern of results that are statistically insignificant and to indicate if a relationship between two variables exists or not (Argyrous 2011). However, the calculation of NHST ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Despite the great deal of controversies about the null hypothesis yet it still dominates the field of social sciences and it is still being used in research that involves scientific psychology (Krueger 2010). Another prominent weakness of NHST is that it does not give any indication of the magnitude of the statistical relationships between the two variables under study. However, the NHST reduces the statistical inference to a process of a binary decision making and that is making a choice between two alternatives (Sim and Reid 1999). Furthermore, it seems useless and senseless to test a hypothesis that is almost certainly false any way and that might encourage an undesired, binary focus on data outcomes (Killeen ... • 39. Components Of Continuous Quality Improvement Quality improvement has philosophical components by emphasizing satisfaction with the consumer (patient, provider, and payer) and health outcomes by focusing on having a mission, values, and objectives to measure performance and implementation (Sollecito Johnson, 2013, p. 11). In order to create this, they review the whole system of service by gathering information from the system operation and patient, so that one can understand the root cause of the information (Sollecito Johnson, 2013, p. 12). Furthermore, quality improvement emphasizes wanting to find multiple roots of causation, and seeks solutions that fix a multitude of functions, so that the process is optimized (Sollecito Johnson, 2013, p. 12). Lastly, emphasizing continuous improvement and analysis on systems that will allow the medical personnel to improve continually the quality of care given (Sollecito Johnson, 2013, p. 12). In order to facilitate the philosophical components of continuous quality improvement, a strong emphasis on structural components helps to facilitate continuous quality by utilizing improvement teams that have been empowered to deal with existing issues of the organization (Sollecito Johnson, 2013, p. 12). The process improvement team uses a continuous quality improvement tool or tools, which are the following: flowcharts, cause and effect diagram, histograms, Pareto charts, run charts, control charts, and regression analyses to understand the issues and data collection ... • 40. Fantasy Worlds Research Paper Fantasy worlds, infamous for its make believe and imaginative aspect, ironically is engaging as it is believable. The application of accurate description in great detail is a key factor in the composition of a realistic fantasy world. Additionally, what happens to the characters in these imaginary worlds must be acceptable in order to generate a believable world. Furthermore, the ability of keeping the world consistent throughout the whole novel establishes an air of reality. The existence of such worlds will be observed in two classic novels. First, Magician: Apprentice , of The Riftwar Saga by Raymond E. Feist and The Diamond Throne , of The Elenium series, by David Eddings. As renowned authors, both Feist and Eddings have applied astonishing descriptive language, and a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Above thick browridges, their sloping foreheads were topped by thick black hair. Their blue green tinged skins were smooth. Their eyes, open in death, were huge and round, with black irises on yellow. From these few sentences, much description is provided over a range of aspects. By providing such a definitive account of what Pug, the protagonist, sees, the readers come to believe what is being described to a certain extent, despite being of fantastic origin. Through description, the senses are triggered, to which the readers cannot help but visualise the scenario, influencing the thought of an authentic environment. Description is also a force behind the reality of the fantasy world in The Diamond Throne. Common descriptions are noticeable, such as, The sun was warmer here than it had been in Elenia, and the breeze that skipped puff ball clouds across the intensely blue sky smelled almost spring like. The fields around them, untouched by frost, were still green, and the road unwound like a white ribbon, dipping into valleys and snaking up verdant hillsides. • 41. Tv Show Diversity What really is considered too white? Why doesn t tv show more of a color diversity? Should television even be used to demonstrate equality between whites and people of color? Although it may be true, there are statically more white s than black s in the U.S. ranging from 75.1% to 12.3% according to the Demographic Statistics. However as the years continue on, equality between African Americans and whites are still being battled throughout the U.S. as African Americans are still being slandered for the color of their skin. So as a fellow African American citizen myself, television wouldn t be a bad start to show how people of color and whites can actually get along on the big screen. On the year of 1939, the first African American television show called The Ethel Waters Showed. aired on NBC for the first time ever. A woman by the name, Ethel Waters along with the African Americans actresses Fredi Washington and Georgette Harvery performed a dramatic sequence from her hit play Mamba s Daughters.(African American Registry) This played a big part within the African American community being the first black television on air, because of this new start it will be the start of more African Americans appearing on air and having more television shows and series. This will also show the beginning of a start for African Americans playing a part along the whites producing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
