Engaging Digital Natives - Their devices, their world, their content - by Sch...Ellen Richards
Owners of Australia's fast growing K-12 online learning environment Schoolbox, James and Sean help independent schools in Australia and New Zealand transform their teaching, learning and online communication.
Today’s youth live in a digital world surrounded by devices, technology, online communities and are socially engaged though the web.
The emergence of these digital natives is forcing traditional teaching methods/technology to move so rapidly, educators can be confused by how best to leverage digital learning to deliver an engaging learning experience through technology.
James and Sean introduce how digital natives learn, how BYOD can work and how to style teaching and use technology in the classroom to fit with the mobile, social and and online world our students live in.
this is a power point presentation on computers and children nowadays. thi project is about the effects on children both in good way and in a bad way, the advantages and disadvantages of computers.

How open and vulnerable should we be when creating in the digital space?" http://www.premierdigital.org.uk/Premier-Digital-Conference
: Lee Rainie, Director of the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project, will discuss the Project’s most recent findings about Americans use the internet and their mobile devices to learn, share, and create information. He will discuss how the changed media environment is affecting learners’ expectations about the availability of information and the ways in which learning takes place. In this new environment, the traditional boundaries between home and school, teacher and pupil, public and private are breaking down and that is affecting the way learning occurs. Lee will describe how Pew Internet has looked at these subjects and the ways in which schools and families are responding to them.
Technology Affecting the learning Behavior of ChildrensRupa Bhowmik
It’s important to come together as parents, teachers and therapists to help society “wake up” and see the devastating effects technology is having not only on our child’s physical, psychological and behavioral health, but also on their ability to learn and sustain personal and family relationships. While technology is a train that will continually move forward, knowledge regarding its detrimental effects, and action taken toward balancing the use of technology with critical factors for development, will work toward sustaining our children. While no one can argue the benefits of advanced technology in today’s world, connection to these devices may have resulted in a disconnection from what society should value most, children.
We need to understand the ways technology is impacting our children, and how to encourage the right use of technology so it can have a positive effect on their behavior and development, as opposed to a negative one
A presentation designed for Year 8 and 9 students. Updated with two additional slides for parents. Feel free to download and adapt this presentation for your own purposes.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

(Students need quicker feedback loops) For teachers: in some classrooms, more than 50% of class time is spent managing behavior rather than delivering instruction; ClassDojo aims to greatly reduce this so teachers can do more teaching and less crowd control! In addition, for the first time, teachers have a painless way to focus on developing positive behavior over time, rather than just logging referrals once it is too late to intervene.
