Systemic racism refers to a social structure in which public policies, cultural norms, and other aspects of society work together to perpetuate racial inequities and privileges associated with whiteness over disadvantages associated with color. It is embedded within social, economic, and political systems and enforced through violence. There has always been grassroots resistance to systemic racism.

Cultural materialism is an anthropological theory that views cultural practices and social structures as adaptations to material conditions and constraints. It posits that culture has three levels - infrastructure, structure, and superstructure - and that the infrastructure level of technology and economics has the strongest influence in shaping a society, with changes cascading up to the structural and superstructural levels of social organization and ideology. ABSTRACT
Despite its many achievements and some remarkable victories against the forces
of racism in their variety of forms, it cannot be said that anti-racism has been
particularly successful as a social, cultural, and political force. This essay uses
Bruno Latour’s figure of the ‘recall’ to rethink certain elements of the anti-
racist tradition. Latour sees the figure as combining both ‘recalling’ in the
sense of remembering, but also ‘recalling’ in the way a company recalls a
product when it realises it has some defect. In much the same way, the essay
uses the idea of ‘recalling anti-racism’, firstly, in order to stay in touch with
anti-racism’s ‘founding principles’, to develop a sense of the cumulative gain
that has been made throughout its history, and, secondly, in order to critically
re-examine how it can be modified and made more efficient.

Culture. It is a small word that carries a lot of meaning. Unfortunately, the word is often confused with other terms and misused. Most often, the terms culture, race, and ethnicity are used interchangeably. However, they are actually three distinct concepts that have some overlap. In this unit, you will learn about the differences between race, ethnicity, and culture.
In the units to come you will be reviewing different " 'isms." For example, you will learn more about sexism, heterosexism, anti-Semitism, and racism. However, before delving into those specific concepts, you will review the overarching "social phenomena that fuel them" (Carter, 2015, p. 28). Your text indicates that bias, prejudice, discrimination, and stereotypes help to maintain the presence of 'isms in our social environment. In this discussion, you will discuss stereotypes and how they impact people. You will also create a research proposal aimed at studying stereotypes.

As a result of our gender process in the South America Region Office, including the ICRW gender assessment of the Indigenous People’s Rights Program, the South America Regional Office (SAMRO) has determined the need to carry out a thorough contextual analysis that would help SAMRO develop an intersectional framework for gender and indigenous people’s rights to serve the development of its programmatic strategies and actions.
SAMRO aims to apply this intersectional approach in order to identify and address the effects of intersectional forms of discrimination, especially on women (as opposed to addressing forms of discrimination in isolation of each other). This approach will help SAMRO to determine specific goals and outcomes that are better aimed at addressing specific indigenous peoples and their rights in each of our programs. It will help us build up a common position on these issues and improve our work on gender justice in the region.

This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land

Systemic Racism “A [social structure] in which public policies, institutional practices, cultural representations, and other norms work in various, often reinforcing ways to perpetuate racial group inequity. It identifies dimensions of our history and culture that have allowed privileges associated with “whiteness” and disadvantages associated with “color” to endure and adapt over time. [Systemic] racism is not something that a few people or institutions choose to practice. Instead it has been a feature of the social, economic and political systems in which we all exist.”1 Systemic racism is enforceable by violence, state-sanctioned and otherwise.
