John teaches WRIT classes at the University. He has been teaching in the University Writing Program since 2006 and has worked closely with CCESL, partnering with local antipoverty groups. John is taking a short course to help create a "flipped" version of a first-year writing and research course, putting online lecture and discussion elements to allow more in-class studio time.

• I’ve been teaching in the University Writing Program since it began in 2006.
• I’ve been working with CCESL a lot since then, too, mostly in partnerships with
antipoverty groups here in town.
• I’m taking this short course to help me create a “flipped” version of a first-year
writing and research course I’ve taught before (in un-flipped form). The idea is to put
online much of the lecture-y/discussion-y elements of the existing course in order to
create more studio time in the classroom.
