The document analyzes the frequency and types of congenital heart diseases in newborns admitted to Tuschinskaya Children's Hospital from 2000 to 2009. It found that septal defects were the most common at 95.6% of cases, with atrial septal defects being the most frequent at 80.5%. The median frequency of congenital heart diseases in newborns each year was 4%. Patients were treated medically to address symptoms until they could undergo surgical treatment. A case study of a newborn with atrioventricular septal defect and patent ductus arteriosus requiring intensive care treatment is also described.
