The lymphatic/immune system has two main roles: 1. To destroy and remove invading microbes and viruses from the body. 2. For the lymphatic system to also remove fat and excess fluids from the blood. The major organs of the lymphatic/immune system include lymph, lymph nodes and vessels, white blood cells, and T- and B- cells. The immune system acts through both specific responses using B and T cells and non-specific responses like inflammation.
