A Research On Computer Use Policy
Computer Use Policy
Establishing a policy to maximize the productivity of employees while safeguarding the institution s
property is important in creating a safe computing environment. By investing time in developing a
policy that will guide users to properly conduct the use of computer equipment while participation
in ethical and moral conduct is essential in every workplace. Computer use does not only affect
employees and administrators but anyone who engages in its use, including students.
Introduction
The advancement of technology and the use of computers today have opened many doors to a
world of information via the internet. With such resources available to us, it comes to no surprise
that there is a need to develop a policy regarding its use. While technology can be a useful resource
in school as well as the workplace, establishing rules and regulations is essential in maintaining a
healthy school and workplace environment. Computer networks rely on the safe use of computers
in order to maintain an active service to all those who are connected to share and obtain
information. Computer use policies are generally in place to help both the user and network
administrator keep up with the demands of maintaining a computer network. Using computers
inappropriately can have devastating consequences due to viruses and privacy invasion. School
administrators may also have concerns regarding the productivity of employees when using
computers for other than the assigned

How Galveston Hurricane Affected Texas

English 10 Advanced studies
15 December 2016
How the Galveston Hurricane affected Texas Human bodies bobbed facedown in the water,
bumping against the boat ( Anderson vii ). By September 7, 1900, Galveston was the 4th largest
city in Texas ( Galveston ). It was a growing and flourishing port city of 37,000 (resources); and
one of the wealthiest cities in the country ( Galveston ). On September 8, 1900 a powerful
hurricane slammed into Galveston ( Galveston ). Its highest wind speed recorded before the
anemometer blew away was 100 mph, but the speeds were estimated as high as 135 mph (
Galveston ). Over 3,600 buildings were destroyed in the hurricane causing 30,000 people to be
homeless ( Galveston ). A 15 foot storm surge engulfed the entire island leaving the highest point
of the island just over 8 feet above sea level ( Galveston ). Evacuation was almost impossible (
Galveston ). At first their estimation of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Economic Impact Industries were forced to move to Houston ( Martinez ). This caused a loss
on huge sources of money for Galveston that otherwise would have been able to give Galveston
a little bit of recovery. Individual losses plus public property losses such as paving, water works,
schools, hospitals, and churches totaled to around, if not over, 30 million ( Resources ). Most of
these losses would have had to been rebuilt immediately to keep the future of the younger people
in the correct road to success. Because of all of the losses in the hurricane, Galveston never
recovered economically ( Martinez ). Galveston is still at a large loss of money that it will probably
never recover in our lifetimes. The TexasLegislature agreed to a tax and sale of bonds to pay for
raising the elevation of the city ( Martinez ). Using the money raised from this tax, a 3 mile long
seawall was built to protect the city from future floods

Consequences Of Work Family Conflicts And Enrichment
Consequences of Work Family Conflicts and Enrichment Role accumulation and work family
enrichment
There are three ways in which participation in multiple roles often referred to as role accumulation
can produce positive outcomes for individuals. First, work experiences and family experiences can
have additive effects on well being. Research has consistently demonstrated that role accumulation
can have beneficial effects on physical and psychological well being, especially when the roles are
of high quality. In addition, satisfaction with work and satisfaction with family have been found to
have additive effects on an individual s happiness, life satisfaction, and perceived quality of life.
Such research suggests that individuals who participate in and are satisfied with work and
family roles experience greater well being than those who participate in only one of the roles or
who are dissatisfied with one or more of their roles. Second, participation in both work and
family roles can buffer individuals from distress in one of the roles. For example, research has
shown that the relationship between family stressors and impaired well being is weaker for
individuals who have more satisfying, high quality work experiences. In a similar vein, the
relationship between work stress and impaired well being is attenuated for individuals who have a
more satisfying, high quality family life. These moderator effects suggest that a diverse portfolio of
social roles buffers an individual

gambiae and An. funestus are the two most efficient primary malaria vectors are which are
anthropophilic, endophilic, endophagic, and late night biting [13] In contrast, An. arabiensis, a
species belonging to the same complex as An. gambiae, is more plastic in its behaviour, exhibiting
more often zoophily, exophily, exophagy, and early night biting as compared to An. gambiae and
An. funestus. However, different factors can influence the behaviour of the anophelines. This has
been shown for An. gambiae in several study sites. A double choice experiment in Burkina Faso
for example shows that 88% of An. gambiae choose for a human odour baited trap and only 12%

learn life lessons throughout the book. The story, My Antonia written by Willa Cather, tells a story
of what Antonia through the eyes of her friend Jim Burden. The inception of the story features, Jim

level, I can think of people in my family that have had a tough time communicating. These two
characters friendship proves that even with hindrances you can find a way to be friends with
someone. Towards the middle of the story Jim and Antonia become inseparable. These two are
hardly ever seen one without the other. In fact, they start to do almost everything together,
whether it be spending time outside or with their families. With this I relate since I, too, have a
best friend that I have become close to. Since the first day we met, we have become great friends
and over the years have grown up together and also actuated each other. Without someone to be

Henry A Bird Analysis
The reason why I chose this sculpture is because birds symbolize human s power and the ability
to escape gravity and achieve success through the effort of climbing higher and taking off into
flight. I think Henry is that kind of person, because he never gives up on Zoe, even when times
get hard. I think this picture fits Henry s type of style because since he was just working on a
sculpture of an elephant I inferred that he likes to sculpt animals and birds, also since he was
reading Georgia O Keeffe who drew animals and birds, that he d like to make a sculpture of a
bird. That is why this bird fits Henry s type of art style. The reason why I chose this sculpture is
because it s very unique. It s remarkable, special, idiosyncratic, one of a kind, extraordinary,

Which include tools such as: hammers, mallets, clamps, screwdrivers, and more. The reason
why I chose this picture is because it uses object that Americans throw away and make it into
something wonderful, and extraordinary. The reason why I think this fits Henry s art style is
because it uses different scraps of metal to make something beautiful. Henry s art style is just the
same he uses scraps of metal to make beautiful art sculptures, just like the picture above. The
reason why I chose this picture is because Maurie Berry s creations are inspired by rescuing the
treasures of the past to produce a work that is both provocative and functional. I also chose this
picture is because it was thought out deliberately, and wasn t just rushed. This fits Henry s type
of art style is because it was thought out and is very detailed. For example, the bird s feathers was
very detailed and didn t just have one long feather. It look like an actual bird. Just like Henry s

survive in today s competitive and constantly changing market and for our company to stay in the
market competition, we need to plunge into these trends.
The BI tool can be used to analyze and understand the business risk from all aspects of its
operations, if implemented and maintained well, this tool will help bring attention to areas that
need improvement. (Kapoor,2010).The BI tool can be customized with dashboards that can track
all corporate functions like human resources, recruiting, operations, security, information
technology, customer relationship management and many more departmental dashboards.
Managing Individuals and not the workforce
Managing individuals and not the workforce, simply means managing each employee individually
and not with a one size fits all approach. Human resource will treat each employee as a workforce
of one with unique needs and preferences, and will customize employee incentives accordingly.
Deploying a business intelligence tool will automatically yield this trend which is equally important
in the competitive world. Most employers are faced with human resource challenges and to stay

John F Kennedy Camelot Analysis
Jacqueline Kennedy s smiling face shines out from the surface of Andy Warhol s Jackie,
embodying Camelot , the dream of a new American renaissance that accompanied John F.
Kennedy s election as the 35th President of the United States. Warhol based this painting on a
press photograph of the First Lady, taken just hours before an assassin s bullet shattered the
dream. The First Lady appears relaxed and glamorous in this intimate portrait with her pillbox hat
and fur collared coat. Marking out this screen s rare quality, we can clearly see the President over
her right shoulder, smiling enthusiastically, blissfully unaware of the impending tragedy. Warhol
seized upon this image, one of many of Jackie that saturated the media for days and days after the
president s death. The media process fascinated Warhol, as did the ensuing frenzy and demand for
national and international grief. He took this image and, with his unrivalled ability to capture the

This seminal work remains a masterpiece of Warhol s infatuation with the media and the cult of
celebrity. With Jackie, Warhol adapted the formula he had already tested on Campbell s Soup and
Coca Cola, for use on a celebrity, but in this case one whose image had unprecedented emotional
strength. The president s glamorous widow had the intense sympathies of millions, and the death of
her husband only enshrined her role as a cultural symbol. After John F. Kennedys death, Jackie
symbolized hope and sympathy for an entire nation, and while Jackie reminds us of his earlier
works, it also creates a complex fusion between emotion and image, between Pop and popularity.
Standing on the brink of his Death and Disaster series, Warhol s portrait of Jackie encapsulates
celebrity s pervasive glare in the midst of personal

Write An Essay On Pleural Effusion
In layman s terms, pleural effusion is simply fluid in the pleural space. However, pleural
effusion is so much more than that. It is caused by a variety of mechanisms, has two different
classifications, and can cause varying degrees of symptoms and complications. Patients with
pleural effusion are ripe for diagnostic radiography, as it is often the best source of information
about their condition and it s severity. Pleural effusion is defined by Liz Allibone as an abnormal
collection of fluid in the pleural space caused by a variety of mechanisms. The pleural space is a
cavity between the chest wall and the lung that consists of two layers, the parietal pleura and the
visceral pleura. These two layers normally have pleural fluid within them to reduce friction during
respiration. Allibone quotes about normal pleural fluid levels that ...it is suggested that there is

Pleural effusion has two major classifications: transudates and exudates. Transudate pleural
effusions usually present bilaterally and are caused by a larger, systemic condition that does not
effect the porousness of the pleural capillaries. An example of a systemic condition that would
cause a transudate pleural effusion would be left ventricular failure. Exudate pleural effusions
normally present unilaterally and occur when there is a change in porousness of the pleural
capillaries. These types of pleural effusions are much more common and can range in cause from a
side effect to certain medicines to a respiratory infection such as pneumonia. They can also be
caused by trauma, which produces a hemothorax, or blood in the pleural

Soda Advertising Research Paper
Should Beyonce be allowed to star in soda ads? This question has started a big controversial
argument. My personal belief is she should be able to. I believe this because many other famous
people have helped sell soda before, Americans already drink soda all the time, and it is the
buyer s choice to buy the soda or not. First off, Beyonce is not the 1st or only celebrity to star in
soda ads. An article called Is It OK for Beyonce to Sell Soda? states, Lebron James and the band
One Direction have also appeared in soda advertisements recently. So if they can why can t
Beyonce? Some might say she is bigger and more famous however Lebron James is definitely the
most famous athlete at the time. Secondly Americans drink soda all the time anyway.

True Religion Jeans Case
The ups and downs of the premium jeans industry and the constant fluctuating of threats to the
industry made it interesting to see how the denim lines would respond. They were originated in
the 1970s by Calvin Klein who created highly priced, skin tight jeans who used celebrities (i.e.
Brooke Shields) to endorse the product. Since they were higher priced compared to your
common, regular blue jeans sold by mainstream brands like Lee and Wrangler, they were meant to
serve as fashion statements as opposed to comfort. They started off well in early on in the 1980s,
but then hit a decline just a few years later. The mid 1990s came and they surpassed their highest
annual sales in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As we discussed in class, a threat of substitute does not necessarily just mean other high end,
premium, higher priced jeans. Substitutes could include any types of jeans. There are skinny jeans
that are mentioned throughout the case, as well as slim cut jeans, straight cut jeans, low/medium
/high rise jeans, etc. Any type of jean poses as a threat to premium denim jeans because consumers
fashion senses are constantly changing. As of late, more people have shifted towards the
casual, relaxed fit jean type of lifestyle, as opposed to before the down economy started in 2008
where many were trending more towards the fashion forward or the aspirational shopper as the
case described. The aspirational shopper consists of a middle class person ($75,000 150,000
income per year) who is willing to buy luxurious, high end jeans. So the overall point here is that
all jean types are a threat of substitutes. Another layer of substitutes could really be any type of
pants in general. People love wearing sweat pants around the house, females tend to wear a lot
of dresses and skirts nowadays, leather pants are somewhat of a trend, and everybody wears
shorts at some point in the year. So these are threats of substitutes as well. Lastly, any other high
end products people could choose to spend money on pose as threats as well. Maybe consumers
will choose to spend their money on high end accessories such as a new watch, or maybe a
handbag or scarf if

Introduction
Prostate cancer (PCa), the development of cancer in the prostate, is one of the most mortal
diseases that threaten men s lives in current world. It is the most commonly diagnosed non skin
cancer in the United States, and it is second leading cause of cancer deaths in American men.
Autopsy series have revealed that small prostatic carcinomas are present in up to 64 percent of
men from 60 to 70 years of age. [1] Most prostate cancers are slow growing, and it causes no
symptoms in early stages. Thus, most patients are found in advanced stage. Older age, race and
family background of the disease are three main factors to increase the risk of the disease. A few
other factors are linked to increase the disease including dietary, medication exposure, viral and
sexual factors.
Nanotechnology is a novel technology what generally deals with structures and systems with a
size less than 100nm. [1] Due to its unique tiny size, the properties are quite different from bulk
properties include physical properties, chemistry properties, biological properties. For example,
gold in bulk form is inert, but in nano scale, it tends to be very active. Moreover, different sizes,
structures, and surface areas of gold nanoparticles make it exhibit different colors.

Delta Airlines Evaluation
For my news report I turned to the website Prnewsonline.com and I supplemented my research with
information from the BET website. These websites were incredibly helpful in my research
gathering process. I feel that these sources were reliable and for the most part unbiased news
sources in which I could gather accurate and relevant information to my issue.
In early October, Delta Airlines was accused with racial profiling after a flight attendantrefused to
believe that a black woman, Tamika Cross, was a doctor. During a flight from Detroit, a man went
unconscious and his wife cried out for help. A representative for the airlinewent on the speaker and
asked if anyone aboard was a doctor, Dr. Tamika Cross immediately responded. The flight
attendant showed clear doubt that Tamika Cross was a doctor and reportedly said to her that
they were looking for actual physicians or nurses or some type of medical personnel. Once again
the cockpit asked if there were any medical personnel on board, and once again Dr. Cross
responded. Once again Dr. Cross was greeted with disbelief and was even asked to prove her ...

Through utilization of justification, Delta airlines minimizes their crisis by stating that they are

is an issue and instead tries to make it right through the reduction of offensiveness. Through
utilizing this strategy they reduce the severity of Dr. Cross s allegations by discussion how their
flight attendants are trained and how ultimately it comes down to a judgment call. The biggest
issue with Delta s statement is that it lacks an apology and never acknowledges that there was an
issue of racial profiling. Although Delta did issue a statement, it was not effective in making their
issues go away, and was not a sincere

Functions Of The Mechanism Of Gene Expression
Researchers daily utilize the knowledge of the mechanism of gene expression, allowing them to
operate in different areas. An example is the imposition of certain conditions to micro organisms,
which are capable of producing drugs or induce cells to function properly, which is of great
importance in medicine. Great emphasis is placed on control systems based on proteins but
recently research started to also focus on the use of systems based on RNA, which is equally as
polypeptides involved in the regulation of processes such as transcription, mRNA degradation and
translation. Ribonucleic acid can regulate gene expressionby the presence of the particles in the
chain, where the individual parts are complementary to each other and can form hydrogen bonds
therebetween to form a secondary structures. TRANSCRIPTION transcriptionis the first stage of
gene expression. Its mechanism is based on rewriting the genetic information contained in the
nucleotide sequence of the DNAstrand to the RNA. The process can be divided into the initiation,
elongation and termination. In a first step, an RNA polymerase binds to the denatured template
locally at the site promoter. Then, in elongation step, it adds more ribonucleotides, complementay to
the DNA strand, to the nascent mRNA in the 5 в†’ 3 . The process terminates at terminacyjnym,
which mostly is characterized by regions complementary to each other, resulting in the formation of
secondary structure in a transcript hairpin [5]. In

As he is referring to the roses as people. He had also said thin as a scythe , which was referring to
how deathwas standing so still. Alliteration was also being used when he states Black gloves, and

Summary Of The Title Of Oscar Wilde s Earnest
Title
The title of the book seems to emphasize the word Earnest by describing it as something
important. After reading through the play by Oscar Wilde, the title seems to perfectly match with
the content and plot described in the book, since it shows the irony behind the title of the
importance of being earnest, and the made up character Ernest himself. Jack s double, Ernest, is a
made up character who Jack can transform into in order to be another version of himself. When
Jack is residing in the countryside at his manor in Hertfordshire, he is Jack, his true identity, but
when his is in town in London, he transforms into his brother who is named Ernest. Gwendolen and
Cecily, two young ladies that fell in love with Ernest, seem to be only in love with this character
because of his name . Even at the end of the book when Gwendolen found out that Jack s real
name wasn t Ernest, she didn t want him for a small period of time because his name wasn t
Ernest, upsetting her. At the end of the Act 3, when Jack got introduced to his name, Ernest, which
was a name given to him all along, Gwendolen seemed to have forgiven him in an instant since his
name was Ernest after all, and she knew she would only fall in love with a man named Ernest. This
imaginative character symbolizes the small value of respect that the Victorian Society shows for
ideals such as honesty, responsibility, and compassion. Instead, ideals such as class, money, and
status within the hierarchy of society seem

Esla Rubrics
I was very interested in the lesson that we did with the students today because we used the ELA
rubrics to model good writing with the short and extended responses. We went through each of
the features of the short response first and showed students different examples of student s
writing. They then had to grade the student according to if it deserved 2 points, 1 point, or 0
points. By doing this the students were able to see examples of good, fair, and bad responses. For
the short response students were able to learn that the most important feature of a short response
was that it made a valid inference or claim from the text that answered the prompt. The criteria for
the expository writingwas a little more complex and took us more time to explain. Once again the
students were given examples of different levels of writing and they had to tell us what they
thought the grade was and why. After going over the rubrics we went back to an essayprompt the...

Creative Self Efficacy
Creative self efficacy, which refers to the employee s beliefs about his/her ability to perform the
job creatively, may relate to company image (AragГіn Correa et al., 2007, Wang and Lin, 2012,
Gong et al., 2009). For instance, AragГіn Correa et al. (2007) have investigated the relationship
between leadership and organisational learning s role on innovation and performance. They
employed SEM as the analysis tool with 408 useable questionnaires (response rate 45.33%).
AragГіn Correa et al. assert that firm innovation has a positive impact on organisational
performance. Accordingly, organisational learning s role on innovation may relate to creative self
efficacy which refers to employee s ability to perform the job in innovative way. Whilst, one of
organisational performance indicator is companyimage. Hence, it may assume that creative
efficacy may lead to company image. Moreover, Wang and Lin (2012) have examined the
antecedents of innovation performance. They conducted their study in Taiwan by using 302
responses from 30 large IT companies (response rate 67.11%). Wang and Lin reveal that
innovation self efficacy leads to innovation performance. Innovation performance may relate to
organisational performance. Whilst, one of organisational performance indicators is company

Flexible Staffing In Nursing
Even though RNAO and other agencies support flexible staffing and even mentioned self
scheduling in their best practice guideline, there is no framework for agencies to implement it in
their respective hospitals. In a trial conducted by Griesmer (1993), nurses are required to work for
160 hours in 4 weeks and can skip 16 hours of work per scheduling period. Griersmer also
incorporated some of their old rules into the framework such as each nurseis to work 2 weeks of
day shift and night shift respectively, work in the weekends every 3 weeks and at least 1 Friday
evening. In the instance of over staffing, the staff can work among themselves to trade off a shift,

Initiating change can be quite difficult especially when majority of the staff are satisfied with the
status quo. Verbalizing a compelling vision can increase the urgency for change, asking for
feedback and responding to their concerns and helping each staff transition through every phase of
the change can solve the reluctance of the staff to change to self scheduling. Communication
breakdown can negatively impact the staff s willingness to participate in th change process. The
staff s productivity and engagement in the change can be improve by maintaining an open
communication that updates the stake holders with timely and accurate information. Nurses
abusing the system is common across any scheduling framework as some staff put their personal
wants before the unit s needs and accumulate a lot of unworked hours without making up for it.
Involving the staff in the initiative reduces this problem. Griesmer solved the problem by
allowing each nurse to be the monitor of the month. The role is first given to the nurses who

Helping A Homeless
I disagree with the statement that the best way to help them is to give them money because of
these three reasons. Firstly, the reason why people became a homeless is not only because they
don t have a money. One of the reason that homeless start to live on the street is because, they
lost motivation of their life. For example, some homeless people prefer to live outside, even they
could afford to rent a room. It causes by feeling of guilt, and lost confidence for the future. Also,
homeless will adapt to live their life as a homeless. When people get hurts of their mind, it s very
hard thing to cure of it. The mental illness is not easy to relief as a physical illness, because the

Lupus s Symptoms Associated With Lupus
Imagine you have a normal life, a simple nine to five job, relax afterwards by going out with
some friends or staying in to do some tidying up. Everything is easy and nothing is holding you

your face. You call out more often, have a hard time focusing on simple tasks such as cleaning,
and socialize less often. This has become your new normal. Unfortunately, this is the crushing

conditions. Some of these drugs include minocycline, hydralazine, and procainamide. At the
end of the day, though, there is no clear reason why lupus develops. While lupus may not be that
common, it still affects more people each year. About 5 out of every 1000 people have been
diagnosed with lupus and around 4 out of those 5 are women of color. Nearly 1.5 million
americans are affected with more than 16,000 new cases being reported each year across the
country. It is most common to hit people between the ages of 15 and 44, mostly affecting women,
though men can develop the disease as well. There is a wide variety of symptoms, the most
distinguishable being a butterfly shaped rash across your face. Lupus also causes achy and swollen
joints, mouth and nose sores, and unexplained fever. Some people with lupus also suffer from
inflammation of the linings of the heart and lungs causing pain when breathing, which is often
misdiagnosed as simply pleurisy. Although pleurisy is a symptom, some doctors may not delve

Genre Example Of A Brochure Sample
Introduction
The genre samples for the proposal of a new grocery store near the MNSU campus will be
explained below. An email, brochure, questionnaire and a flowchart are among the genre examples
explained. Each will give a brief explanation behind choosing that specific genre example.
Email
The first Genre Sample I chose, was to write an email to Eric Anderson, the mayor of the Mankato
City Council. I decided to write to Eric Anderson because I assumed he would be the best person to
contact about starting a proposal for a new grocery store near the Minnesota State University
Mankato campus. Eric Anderson could then give me some pointers on continuing this proposal
and what I should do next in being able to get this approved for construction. Within the email to
Eric Anderson, I stated the main purpose in writing this email to him. I proceeded to state the
reasoning why there is a need for a grocery store near the MNSU campus. Finally, I asked him for
any feedback on the proposal and that I looked forward to hearing back to him. At the end of the
email I tried to be as professional as possible and listed my name and then some contact
information of mine as well.
Brochure
The brochure I created will be available to the entire Mankato Community along with all the
students at Minnesota State University Mankato. This brochure will be available at many
locations throughout Mankato, with a major emphasis of them being around the MNSU campus.
Some specific spots people will be able to find these brochures are on the MNSU campus in the
CSU and surrounding business of the MNSU campus, like Kwik Trip as an example.
I created this brochure to show the reason why we should have a grocery store near the MNSU
campus. I wanted the brochure to be concise, but also wanted it to provide enough information to
the readers. I added some fun colors to the brochure to make it a little more visually appealing. I
also added some pictures throughout the brochure to give the reader some visual aids of the
proposed grocery store plan.
Questionnaire
The questionnaire will be given out to any and every student, first year freshman to a graduate
student, who is walking through the CSU at Minnesota State University Mankato. The

Fall Of The Jin Dynasty
Following the fall of the Hans dynasty in 220 C.E., China divided into three separate kingdoms
known as the Three Kingdom Era. Powerful families and warlords who were in a constant battle
against each other led the north, south, and west. In addition to these battles, disease and natural
disasters also took an extensive toll on China. The battles continued for years and then in the year
280 C.E., a general under the Jin dynasty from the north managed to defeat the south and west for a
short time. The Jin dynasty produced 25 sons who after his death began to battle each other for the
power to control the dynasty. One of the sons made a disastrous mistake when he asked Turkic

Communication And Parenting
What is communication? How does communicating relate to parenting?
Communication is when words or conversations are exchanged by more than two person that are
able to get a mutual understanding. Communicating relates to parenting because when a parent
talks to their child, the child is able to respond, and express about how they feel and such.
Communicating can either be through actions or verbal.
How can financial issues affect parenting?
Financial issues can affect parenting because since they are not financially stable, they may need to
work multiple jobs which means they have less time to spend with their child. Spending less time
with a child, can cause a parent and the child to not form a strong relationship since they re never
present.

Therefore, until the equipment and weapon arsenal have reached a complete state of
improvement, the Russian military will continue to fall behind the rest of the World Super
Powers. The state of the Russian economy does not make the situation any better. Oil makes up
two thirds of the total exports from Russia, despite multiple discussions to diversify resource
reliance (David, 2017). The global financial crisis of 2009, coupled with falling oil prices,
international sanctions, and structural limitations pushed Russia into a deep recession in 2015,
with the GDP falling by close to 4%. (CIA World Factbook, 2017). The contracting economy
continues into 2016, with the GDP falling another 0.6%, expecting to fall by another 5% in 2017 if
oil continues below $40 per barrel. Without an immediate negotiation to either lift trade sanctions or
find an alternative resource dependence, the economic decline will continue. Trade sanctions
emplaced after the Crimea incident in 2014 were implemented by the European Union (EU) and the
United States to target the Russian financial, energy, and defense sectors (Lee, 2016). The
continued devaluation of the Russian ruble multiplied the effect of strain on the fledgling nation.
Currency values fell approximately 50% since the middle of 2014; in turn, making it more
expensive for Russia to import from other countries. The future of Russia s economy is uncertain.

The Protest Of The Sunset Strip
Opposition to the Development The opposition to the Sunset strip addition is significant in that it
includes the West Hollywood community and LA City councilmembers. In an article by the Staff
for WeHoville, Last Minute Move to Curb 8150 Sunset Traffic on Havenhurst, the community
voices concern over the development s placement on the northern border of West Hollywood which
calls for their involvement in opposition work (the Staff). A community group that calls themselves
Laurel Canyon Association openly opposes the development and works to preserve the Hollywood
Hills area. The non profit organization released a Justifications for Appeal in August 2016 in order
to modify the development to fit the community s needs. This is often the case where community
members are opposed to such large scale development for fear of major modifications to existing
establishments. West Hollywood City councilmembers Lauren Meister and John D Amico have
also advocated against the development. The two councilmembers supported the views of the
community and worked towards stopping the approval of the development. To the two members
displeasure the final decision to drop its opposition to the project came in a 3 to 2 vote, ultimately
ending the city s battle against the development (the Staff). According to WeHoville, the three
councilmembers who voted to drop the opposition to the project have been beneficiaries of
campaign donations from Townscape Partners for quite some time (the

Implementing Nosql Databases On The Critical Line Of...
The following represent the key reasons for companies to implement NoSQL databases in their
critical line of business applications.
5.1 Amazon
Response times directly impact customer satisfaction and revenue thus are more important today
with businesses having many competitors just a click away. NoSQL solutions like Apache

that every 100ms decrease in site response time gave them 1% more in revenue.

Netflix, which is one of largest cloud application in the world, uses Cassandra to make sure zero
downtime for its customers, storing 95% of its data in Cassandra.
5.4 Adobe
The term location independence means being able to read and write to a database regardless of
where that input/output operation occurs and to have any write functionality propagating from that
location, so that it is available to users and machines at other sites. Such functionality is very
difficult to architect for relational databases. Cassandra allows both read and write capability with
its peer to peer architecture and thus delivers true data location independence. Adobe appreciated
this feature and used it in marketing cloud application. It runs it s DataStax Enterprise/Cassandra
database cluster between two data centres just to ensure that its customers can both read as well as
write data fast no matter where they are located.
5.5 NASA
Owing to a flexible data model, ability to accommodate structured, semi structured and unstructured
data of Cassandra, NASA has deployed it for some specific purposes.
NASA uses it for security applications to track hardware and software patches and deals with data
that is both structured and unstructured and allowed them to insert data much more smoothly than
prior RDBMS, and achieved this with reduced query response.

To What Extent Did Cornelius Vanderbilt Change America
Imagine being alone in the business world, with only $100 in your pocket. What if it was

pocket change Cornelius Vanderbilt became a millionaire and a largely known titan of industry.
With his unique business style he became an inspiration to many other competitors and new
companies. Vanderbilt allowed for other people to build up their own success, introduced a new
business style, and even allowed for new inventions that helped change America. Cornelius
Vanderbilt truly is The Commodore. First, Vanderbilt allowed for the other titans to begin their

almost all products being made at that time. Without Vanderbilt s railroads, no goods would get to

In order to understand Nintendo Rock, one must take a brief glance at the history of Nintendo

The Scientific Revolution Essay
During the Scientific Revolution scientists such as Galileo, Copernicus, Descartes and Bacon
wrestled with questions about God, human aptitude, and the possibilities of understanding the
world. Eventually, the implications of the new scientific findings began to affect the way people
thought and behaved throughout Europe. Society began to question the authority of traditional
knowledge about the universe. This in turn, allowed them to question traditional views of the

The statement acts to justify his finding with the church and connect them to God. Copernicus
realized that the church would be quick to judge him, and possibly this is why he didn t publish
his theories until late in his life. His discoveries were not so much as important as were his
methods of observation and application of mathematics to explain the world. His methods of
discovery helped model the direction of science over the next hundred years.
Another important figure in the Scientific Revolution was Galileo Galilei. He was an Italian born
professor of mathematics who had a great interest in the workings of the universe. Galileo served as

Aperture Cameras Consistently Returned The Highest Net Income
Aperture Cameras consistently returned the highest net income (Fig.3), which provided the base
for strong earnings per share (EPS) and return on equity (REO). For example, Year 6 earnings per
share was $3.57 and increased in each subsequent year, ending Year 12 at $7.25. The improved EPS
was accomplished with providing consistent well thought out modifications to the business model
and not significant stockrepurchase. The company did strategically make annual stock repurchases
starting in Year 8. Return on Equity (ROE) was maintained at a consistent weighted average of
23.7, representing the average of ROE from a low of 21.0 to a high of 27.1. Management elected
to operate the company with sound business principals and avoid aggressive changes in the balance
sheet and/or P L, which could dramatically swing the ROE.
It was management s opinion what consistent reliable business practices would add a sense of
security to the company s operations, employees and shareholders. The financial consistency of the
company provided shareholders with comfort in their investment with the stock price at $43.92 in
Year 6 and steadily rising to $128.11 by Year 12. As previously noted, the financial results were
accomplished by providing consistent high net earnings on its operations each accounting year. The
company did not incur long term debt and operated its business without having to utilized its bank
operating line of credit (no interest cost), thus maintaining a healthy

Affects The Dissolving Time In The Hydrochloric Acid
Introduction
What if the density of the pill affects the dissolving time in the hydrochloric acid? During this
experiment, this question will be answered. The denser the pill, then the longer dissolving rate
when time is a function of the dissolving rate. Tablets, coated tablets, gel capsules, and hard
capsules will be tested, and all of these each have a different densities. Medicine is a very
important part in keeping humans alive and healthy. Different types are capable of many things
such as: relieving pain, fighting disease, balance systems and organs in the body, fighting infection,
supplementing a deficiency, helping a bodily mechanism fix itself, and decrease, and
overabundance of a body substance (Howell 2017). There are many ways that medicine can be
administered, and include, but are not limited to: orally, sublingually, injection, intravenous, dermal,
and inhalation. After the administration, the drug is delivered throughout all of the body systems
and will perform by causing the effects it was made to put out. Finally, the medicine and waste are
washed out of the body. Based on ВЁPrinciples of PharmacokineticsВЁ, ВЁpharmacokinetics is the
study of absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretionВЁ (Ratain 2003). In other words, the
drug s pharmacokinetics determines the duration and the intensity of the effect on the body.
Absorption rate can be affected by the drug itself, such as: rate of dissolution, lipid solubility, and
route (VandeWaa 2016). The absorption process starts by the route of admission, in this case oral.
The oral, or by mouth, route of administration for drugs is the most common. When a pill is taken
by mouth, it travels down to the stomach, were most pills dissolve. While in the stomach, some
kinds of pills are absorbed into the stomach lining, but some move on to the small intestine. Every
pill eventually ends up in the bloodstream and circulate through the body to tissues and organs
(Howell 2017). Once passive diffusion occurs, the cells absorb the molecules of the medicine.
Then, the molecules of the medicine will exit the cells and travel in the bloodstream for the
distribution process. Blood traveling to tissue, otherwise known as perfusion, is the main

The Works Of David The King David
Throughout the history there has been major events that occurred which left an impact for
generations. A major history that was recorded in the bible was King David ; base on our
understanding of history David was once just a normal shepherd until King Saul the former ruler of
Israel appointed him as the new air to the throne. In the present year Davidis known as the slayer of
Goliath killing him with stones he put in his sling and cutting of his head. This event was
printed as a biblical history because it is said that before he became King, God gave Saul the
position to become the first emperor of Israel, but after disobeying god s words he was rejected
from the throne . David became the symbol of Florence, many artists have done sculptures of him
and two of the best artists were Michelangeloand Bernini. These two were talented of creating
sculptures inspiration of David; although the subjects are the same their style of sculpting is
different. There were other artist whose done sculptureof David, but by far these two were the best,
in my opinion. Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni , was born in the 15 century the
time of the High Renaissance , he was announced the greatest artist in his time . When he was
only 12 years old Michelangelo was sent to study at Florence and became an apprentice under
Ghirlandaio . Michelangelo was born in a religious family; most of his artwork is based on the
legends of how humanity was created and Christ. He also

Masculinity As A Man s Man
When I m talking to groups that are all men , said Gloria Steinem, writer and political activist,
we talk about how the masculine role limits them. They often want to talk about how they
missed having real fathers, real loving, present fathers, because of the way that they tried to fit
the picture of masculinity (Steinem). This particular idea of masculinity is a much more
modern interpretation that has changed drastically over the centuries. Masculinity used to be
defined as a male who was a man s man that exemplified President Theodore Roosevelt s idea of
pulling one s self up by the bootstraps. Over the years, especially in literature, the evolution of
masculinity can be directly traced through careful and considerate evaluation and analysis. As we
explore the evolution of masculinity, the key elements to fully understand include what exactly
it means to be a man, how this concept has changed over time, and what it means to be a man in
today s society. When the word masculinity is mentioned, typically, a specific image is conjured
in the mind of the listener or reader. This image is one of confidence, a great athletic physique,
and the idea of an overcomer. In a certain time period this would be exactly correct, but
masculinity has evolved and changed since this definition held true. So what exactly does it mean
to be a man? There are a plethora of answers to this question when looking only at one society, let
alone the entire world. However, when looking at American

How Did Roman Roads Build Aqueducts
Aqueducts were and still are beautiful architectural structures that proved very useful in Ancient
Rome. These structures were built to last, and the arches were made out of materials like brick,
stone, and concrete. The tunnels and pipes were made of lead, ceramic, and stone. These
materials were used to build specific structures and technology. First of all, whenever they had to
have water travel across valleys or other open landscapes, the Romans built bridges made of
arches. These arches saved materials and money, as it took less to build arches than to build a
solid wall. Also, arches were much more stable than a wall and were easily repairable. It was easy
for pedestrians and vehicles to pass through the arches, too. However, when

The Pacific Campaign Of World War II
The Pacific Campaign of World War II showed an uncommon test for the United States. The
Americans were successful for some reasons including the commitment of US General Douglas
MacArthur and the Australian s effect on the war. Numerous Successful attributes identified
with the war were the Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Battle of Midway and The
Battle of Coral Sea. The Pacific Campaign for the US was initiated after the bombing of Pearl
Harbour which was done by the Japanese forces on December 7, 1941. The attack on Pearl
Harbour quickly aroused an isolated country without hesitation. Public opinion had been moving
towards support for entering the war amid 1941, however extensive resistance stayed until the
assault. Overnight, Americans joined the allies against Japan. American solidarity in the war
exertion most likely made the unconditional surrender position later taken by the Allied Powers.
Many Historians believed that this effort by the Japanese doomed them to defeat because they
had awoken the sleeping giants of the US. Once awoken the US were able to have an immense
impact on the pacific theatres. General Douglas MacArthur s impact on WWII: MacArthur was the
Chief of Staff of the United States Army amid the 1930s and assumed an unmistakable part in the
Pacific Campaign within World War II. After the Philippine fiasco, MacArthur started the long
crusade to crush Japanese military force in the pacific. Hampered in the early months by

profile of a killer Essay examples
During the last decade the world has witnessed a staggering elevation in serial killings.
To give some insight into the scale of the problem posed by the serial killer, in the United States
can be gained from examining the statistics for just one year. In 1989 (the last year for which
detailed figures are available) there were 21,500 recorded homicides, of which some 5,000 are
unsolved. Unofficial sources believe that as many as a hundred serial killers may be at large at any
given time. Add to this the number of known victims of serial killers, then between 3,500 and
5,000 people are killed by serial murderers every year. (Lane and Gregg 3)
These numerous multiple murders, often without consequence and justice, have shocked civilized ...

Characteristics of a serial killer are imperative in demarcating the type of person capable of
committing a serial murder. quot; Most known serial killers are 25 35 years old quot; (Falk 85).
quot;It is also significant that the victims of serial murderers are not concentrated in any age range
quot; (Falk 85). quot;Serial killings are almost always committed by white males instead of blacks
because class resentment is far more likely to occur to a person with a good education than
someone without an appreciation of how society works quot; (Falk 85).
To truly understand the phenomenon of serial murder one must know what motivates a person to
commit such a horrendous crime. Patterns of serial killing fall broadly into two categories of
motivation: quot;Extrinsic, where the impulse to kill is located outside the killer s psyche that is,
he perceives a rational reason for murder in outside situations and events quot; (Fox and Levin 12).
quot;More frequently the motivation is intrinsic to the psyche of the killer, whether or not that
motivation is apparent to an independent observer quot; (Fox and Levin 12). Closer psychological
analysis of known cases indicates that serial murders fit into one of four main types according to
the predominate homicidal motivation: Visionaries, Missionaries, Hedonists, and Power Seekers.
Visionaries include killers who act in response to quot;voices quot; and alter egos, where

Communication beliefs and practices evolve as relationships develop. In the film, Avatar, produced

energy crisis in 2154. As a result, the Resources Development Administration (RDA for short)
seeks to mine a valuable mineral, unobtanium, in Pandora, a densely forested planet whose
atmosphere is poisonous to humans, and is inhabited by the blue skinned, sapient humanoids, Na

paraplegic Marin, accepts the offer of replacing his identical brother, as one of the operators of Dr.
Grace Augustine, head of the AvatarProgram. Colonel Miles Quaritch, head of the RDA s security
force, promises Jake that if he can walk again if he can collect intelligence information about the Na

Jake interacts with the Na vi, he acculturates and falls in love with

Essay on journal on Unconditional Positive Regard
In tonight s session we have been learning further about Carl Rogers and his conditions of a
successful person centred therapy. We have been exploring Unconditional Positive Regard, a term
used by Rogers to describe a basic acceptance and support of a person regardless what they say or
do. Unconditional Positive Regard is an attitude of the counsellor towards his client. Rogers
believes that this attitude is essential to a healthy development and cause a positive therapeutic
movement in a therapy.
I find this condition; the very definition of humanity. Our species have a rare capability to
understand each other, however many of us hardly use it. It requires putting the others first,
demands to put our feelings and emotions aside. We are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In many cases, clients show signs of disbelief and sometimes even aggression towards their
therapist. The reason for that is conditional love most of us have experienced in a lifetime. This is
called; conditions of worth, since we were little children we have been told or shown that to
deserve acceptance and love we have to behave in a certain way ( e.g. Be good, patient, obedient,
confident, etc.)We are convinced that we have to be worthy of love. For most of us adults other
people s perception is very important and in many cases can even define a person. Being so used
to seeing myself through other people s eyes, being judged for what I do or have done,
Unconditional Positive Regard appears to me as almost impossible to believe. I do think that it is
possibly also client s attitude. That disbelief; that the therapist can put aside whatever I have
done and see me as a worthy person for who I am, even If I do not believe in me; probably take a
while to disappear and change into trust.
Rogers said that every one of us has within himself desire to change in a positive direction. I
assume that he meant and believed that goodness is our natural aspiration. I fully agree with him
no matter how unrealistic and ideal it might seem. If we, learning how to be a counsellor, will
understand how to be able to accept another person, regardless of their past, negative attitude or
defensiveness we will then

Duroplasty Essay
TYPE 1 CHIARI MALFORMATION Duroplasty or Not INTRODUCTION Since the
description of malformations of the hindbrain, there has been a very keen interest in attempting
to accurately define its etiology and determine its optimal treatment. Appropriate and adequate
treatment will depend on understanding the pathophysiology of the entity. Uncertainty over the
etiology of the Chiari malformation has led to debate and controversy of the optimal surgical
management of the condition. Various surgical approaches have been proposed, however the
debate as to whether duroplasty is required is still active. CASE A 31 year old male presented to
the outpatient department of the University Hospital of the West Indies with a one year history
of weakness of the upper limbs that had been affecting his function at school. He was also
complaining of headaches that were located mostly over the frontal area of the head and were
aggravated by sneezing and coughing. He denied any vertigo, vomiting, lateralising weakness,

Essay about The 1994 Baseball Strike
The 1994 Baseball Strike On August 12, 1994 professional baseball players went on strike for the
eighth time in the sports history. Since 1972, negotiations between the union and owners over
contract terms has led to major economic problems and the absence of a World Series in 1994. All
issues were open for debate due to the expiration of the last contract. Until 1968, no collective
bargaining agreement had ever been reached between the owners and the players (Dolan 11).
Collective bargaining is the process by which union representatives for employees in a bargaining
unit negotiate employment conditions for the entire bargaining unit (Atlantic Unbound). Instead,

Two major issues led directly to the interruption and eventually the cancellation of the entire
season. After a 28 0 vote among the owners, they agreed to share revenue on the condition they
could get the players to accept a salary cap. The issue of revenue sharing was directly linked to
the salary cap. By taking this action, the owners signaled they had come to realize the problem
of disparity between big market teams (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago) and small market
teams (Seattle, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee). The problem, however, was that because the owners
linked their revenue sharing with a salary cap, the players felt they were being asked to solve the
owners financial disparity problem. There is a noticeable difference in team payrolls, as
displayed in 1993, when the the payroll of the Toronto Blue Jays was $48.4 million, compared
with San Diego Padres payroll of only $10.6 million (Layden 17). Therefore, the idea of revenue
sharing, wherein big market teams would transfer monies to the small market teams, was a good
one, but it caused disputes among the owners as to how the formula would be worked out. Not all
of the small market teams were in bad shape financially. In fact, some that had built or were
building new stadiums such as Baltimore, Cleveland, and Texas were doing quite well. It was not
until June 14, 1994, that the owners finally presented their collective bargaining proposal, 18

Rough Draft Of A Personal Narrative Essay
Personal narrative draft When I was 3 years old, just 19 months after my sister was born, we
went on a trip to Florida. We had to wake up at about 3:00 a.m. ,because it takes us an hour to get
are luggage in the truck and to get everyone up and dressed. Our truck was a black Suburban. It
took an hour and a half to get the airport, an hour or two to get our 3 bags of luggage on the
plane,to get breakfast,to get coffee for my Mom, Dad, Nana Pat, and, Papa Daryl. Finally, we
got a security check for all of us. Then,we went to go find our gate where our plane was. Then we
finally found our gate. We walked in through the door that was open and we walked through a
long tunnel like thing to get onto our plane. When we were stepping onto our plane, I could see
the path that the plane was on. There s a little crack. A crack in between the plane and that little
ramp thing that you walk on to get into the plane. Our plane was Delta. After all of that we we re
getting on the plane. We found our sets and sat in them and buckled up we were ready for our
flight. Were on a plane I was really excited about the trip, when we took off it was going down
the runway faster and faster then all of a the sudden the plane was going up off the ground then
we were in the sky floating forward. Then the plane was going fast whenever I looked out the
window everything on land and not in the air looked tiny it was an amazing site from up above. It
felt like we were flying with the birds.

Racial Tensions
Racial tensions are high in the United States currently. Donald Trump s campaign has put
Immigration policies on the hot seat. Some of the decisions the Obama administration has made

The Artist And The Work
Everything you can imagine is real. There are many visual artists, composers and writers we could
pass on the street and never recognize them. Yet we are still curious. There is something about
artmaking that draws us to it but it seems so foreign to our own lives. We want to know more about
these seemingly special people who can accomplish these unique things. We can t help but conflate
the two. The artistand the work. Well, to some extent, an artist s work is always about the artist.
How can it be otherwise, since they have no other source but themselves?
When we look or hear art, we only see and hear artist, because that is all we can see it s all we
have to work with. The problem with art is, because we love it so much, we put the artists who
created it on pedestals and we believe they cannot fail because, in some corner of our mind, we
ve formed a relationship with them and their product, and for us to discover them as imperfect
shatters the illusion. We have made a god in our mind where there is only a human, as flawed and
imperfect as ourselves, but what that piece of art they created gave us, in that moment in time, was
pure love, joy and satisfaction. The art didn t do anything wrong to you. The art shouldn t be
punished. Say what you will of the artist, but the product they produced and that you love shouldn t
be demeaned if it made you happy for one moment in time.
Can we separate the art from the artist? Only ethical answer is? No. Most people like Roman

A Comparison Of The Tariff Of 1828 And The Nullification...
As the result of economic issues, such as the the Tariffs of Abominations in 1828 and the
Nullification Crisis in 1832, it becomes apparent that Jackson did what he thought was best for the
country. At the beginning of his presidency, Congress passed a protective tariff, the Tariff of 1828,
that put taxes on import goods, such as iron and wool. The tariffs were designed to protect the
infant industries in the Northern states from British goods driving them out of business. Although
it seemed like a good idea, this tariff only benefitted the North. The southerners (especially South
Carolina) were enraged since they relied heavily on those imports. Not only that, it was harmful to
the South since they had to pay higher prices on imported necessities... Show more content on

The choice was made and South Carolina s legislature established the Ordinance of Nullification,
which announce the Tariffs of 1828 and 1832 unconstitutional, and thereby ineffective and void.
The doctrine professed that if a state found a federal law illegitimate and detrimental to its
absolute interests, it would have the power to abolish that law within its borders. Southerners saw
it as a protection against federal intrusion on their rights and threatened to separate if the federal
government pursued to collect the tariff duties. Upon hearing this, Jackson became infuriated and
acted quickly. He pushed Congress to pass the Force Bill, which gave Jackson the authority to use
military force to collect the tariff when needed. It was an attempt to force South Carolina to
comply with the Tariff although it didn t succeed. An armed encounter was averted when Henry
Clay proposed a compromised which gradually lowered the tax rates over the next ten years,
known as the Compromised of 1833. Despite the actions of Andrew Jackson in this situation, he did
what he thought was best for the industries and their economy. Even though it was damaging to the

How Galveston Hurricane Affected Texas Joey Moughrabi Favaro English 10 Advanced studies 15 December 2016 How the Galveston Hurricane affected Texas Human bodies bobbed facedown in the water, bumping against the boat ( Anderson vii ). By September 7, 1900, Galveston was the 4th largest city in Texas ( Galveston ). It was a growing and flourishing port city of 37,000 (resources); and one of the wealthiest cities in the country ( Galveston ). On September 8, 1900 a powerful hurricane slammed into Galveston ( Galveston ). Its highest wind speed recorded before the anemometer blew away was 100 mph, but the speeds were estimated as high as 135 mph ( Galveston ). Over 3,600 buildings were destroyed in the hurricane causing 30,000 people to be homeless ( Galveston ). A 15 foot storm surge engulfed the entire island leaving the highest point of the island just over 8 feet above sea level ( Galveston ). Evacuation was almost impossible ( Galveston ). This caused a loss on huge sources of money for Galveston that otherwise would have been able to give Galveston a little bit of recovery. Individual losses plus public property losses such as paving, water works, schools, hospitals, and churches totaled to around, if not over, 30 million ( Resources ). Most of these losses would have had to been rebuilt immediately to keep the future of the younger people in the correct road to success. Because of all of the losses in the hurricane, Galveston never recovered economically ( Martinez ). Galveston is still at a large loss of money that it will probably never recover in our lifetimes. The TexasLegislature agreed to a tax and sale of bonds to pay for raising the elevation of the city ( Martinez ). Using the money raised from this tax, a 3 mile long seawall was built to protect the city from future floods ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Consequences Of Work Family Conflicts And Enrichment Consequences of Work Family Conflicts and Enrichment Role accumulation and work family enrichment There are three ways in which participation in multiple roles often referred to as role accumulation can produce positive outcomes for individuals. First, work experiences and family experiences can have additive effects on well being. Research has consistently demonstrated that role accumulation can have beneficial effects on physical and psychological well being, especially when the roles are of high quality. In addition, satisfaction with work and satisfaction with family have been found to have additive effects on an individual s happiness, life satisfaction, and perceived quality of life. Such research suggests that individuals who participate in and are satisfied with work and family roles experience greater well being than those who participate in only one of the roles or who are dissatisfied with one or more of their roles. Second, participation in both work and family roles can buffer individuals from distress in one of the roles. For example, research has shown that the relationship between family stressors and impaired well being is weaker for individuals who have more satisfying, high quality work experiences. In a similar vein, the relationship between work stress and impaired well being is attenuated for individuals who have a more satisfying, high quality family life. These moderator effects suggest that a diverse portfolio of social roles buffers an individual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Henry A Bird Analysis The reason why I chose this sculpture is because birds symbolize human s power and the ability to escape gravity and achieve success through the effort of climbing higher and taking off into flight. I think Henry is that kind of person, because he never gives up on Zoe, even when times get hard. I think this picture fits Henry s type of style because since he was just working on a sculpture of an elephant I inferred that he likes to sculpt animals and birds, also since he was reading Georgia O Keeffe who drew animals and birds, that he d like to make a sculpture of a bird. That is why this bird fits Henry s type of art style. Kennedy s election as the 35th President of the United States. Warhol based this painting on a press photograph of the First Lady, taken just hours before an assassin s bullet shattered the dream. The First Lady appears relaxed and glamorous in this intimate portrait with her pillbox hat and fur collared coat. Marking out this screen s rare quality, we can clearly see the President over her right shoulder, smiling enthusiastically, blissfully unaware of the impending tragedy. It is caused by a variety of mechanisms, has two different classifications, and can cause varying degrees of symptoms and complications. Patients with pleural effusion are ripe for diagnostic radiography, as it is often the best source of information about their condition and it s severity. Pleural effusion is defined by Liz Allibone as an abnormal collection of fluid in the pleural space caused by a variety of mechanisms. The pleural space is a cavity between the chest wall and the lung that consists of two layers, the parietal pleura and the visceral pleura. Exudate pleural effusions normally present unilaterally and occur when there is a change in porousness of the pleural capillaries. They were originated in the 1970s by Calvin Klein who created highly priced, skin tight jeans who used celebrities (i.e. Brooke Shields) to endorse the product. Since they were higher priced compared to your common, regular blue jeans sold by mainstream brands like Lee and Wrangler, they were meant to serve as fashion statements as opposed to comfort. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As we discussed in class, a threat of substitute does not necessarily just mean other high end, premium, higher priced jeans. Substitutes could include any types of jeans. There are skinny jeans that are mentioned throughout the case, as well as slim cut jeans, straight cut jeans, low/medium /high rise jeans, etc. Any type of jean poses as a threat to premium denim jeans because consumers fashion senses are constantly changing. As of late, more people have shifted towards the casual, relaxed fit jean type of lifestyle, as opposed to before the down economy started in 2008 where many were trending more towards the fashion forward or the aspirational shopper as the case described. The aspirational shopper consists of a middle class person ($75,000 150,000 income per year) who is willing to buy luxurious, high end jeans. So the overall point here is that all jean types are a threat of substitutes. Another layer of substitutes could really be any type of pants in general. People love wearing sweat pants around the house, females tend to wear a lot of dresses and skirts nowadays, leather pants are somewhat of a trend, and everybody wears shorts at some point in the year. An example is the imposition of certain conditions to micro organisms, which are capable of producing drugs or induce cells to function properly, which is of great importance in medicine. Great emphasis is placed on control systems based on proteins but recently research started to also focus on the use of systems based on RNA, which is equally as polypeptides involved in the regulation of processes such as transcription, mRNA degradation and translation. Ribonucleic acid can regulate gene expressionby the presence of the particles in the chain, where the individual parts are complementary to each other and can form hydrogen bonds therebetween to form a secondary structures. TRANSCRIPTION transcriptionis the first stage of gene expression. Its mechanism is based on rewriting the genetic information contained in the nucleotide sequence of the DNAstrand to the RNA. The process can be divided into the initiation, elongation and termination. In a first step, an RNA polymerase binds to the denatured template locally at the site promoter. Then, in elongation step, it adds more ribonucleotides, complementay to the DNA strand, to the nascent mRNA in the 5 в†’ 3 . The process terminates at terminacyjnym, which mostly is characterized by regions complementary to each other, resulting in the formation of secondary structure in a transcript hairpin [5]. In ... • 19. Summary Of The Title Of Oscar Wilde s Earnest Title The title of the book seems to emphasize the word Earnest by describing it as something important. After reading through the play by Oscar Wilde, the title seems to perfectly match with the content and plot described in the book, since it shows the irony behind the title of the importance of being earnest, and the made up character Ernest himself. Jack s double, Ernest, is a made up character who Jack can transform into in order to be another version of himself. When Jack is residing in the countryside at his manor in Hertfordshire, he is Jack, his true identity, but when his is in town in London, he transforms into his brother who is named Ernest. Gwendolen and Cecily, two young ladies that fell in love with Ernest, seem to be only in love with this character because of his name . Even at the end of the book when Gwendolen found out that Jack s real name wasn t Ernest, she didn t want him for a small period of time because his name wasn t Ernest, upsetting her. At the end of the Act 3, when Jack got introduced to his name, Ernest, which was a name given to him all along, Gwendolen seemed to have forgiven him in an instant since his name was Ernest after all, and she knew she would only fall in love with a man named Ernest. This imaginative character symbolizes the small value of respect that the Victorian Society shows for ideals such as honesty, responsibility, and compassion. Instead, ideals such as class, money, and status within the hierarchy of society seem ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Esla Rubrics I was very interested in the lesson that we did with the students today because we used the ELA rubrics to model good writing with the short and extended responses. We went through each of the features of the short response first and showed students different examples of student s writing. They then had to grade the student according to if it deserved 2 points, 1 point, or 0 points. By doing this the students were able to see examples of good, fair, and bad responses. For the short response students were able to learn that the most important feature of a short response was that it made a valid inference or claim from the text that answered the prompt. The criteria for the expository writingwas a little more complex and took us more time to explain. Once again the students were given examples of different levels of writing and they had to tell us what they thought the grade was and why. One student was even able to identify that she could find the lowest common denominator and multiply both the numerator and the denominator to get 10/12. Flexible Staffing In Nursing Even though RNAO and other agencies support flexible staffing and even mentioned self scheduling in their best practice guideline, there is no framework for agencies to implement it in their respective hospitals. In a trial conducted by Griesmer (1993), nurses are required to work for 160 hours in 4 weeks and can skip 16 hours of work per scheduling period. Griersmer also incorporated some of their old rules into the framework such as each nurseis to work 2 weeks of day shift and night shift respectively, work in the weekends every 3 weeks and at least 1 Friday evening. In the instance of over staffing, the staff can work among themselves to trade off a shift, take a day off or make up for it on another week. griesmer also introduced Monitor... Nurses abusing the system is common across any scheduling framework as some staff put their personal wants before the unit s needs and accumulate a lot of unworked hours without making up for it. Involving the staff in the initiative reduces this problem. Griesmer solved the problem by allowing each nurse to be the monitor of the month. An email, brochure, questionnaire and a flowchart are among the genre examples explained. Each will give a brief explanation behind choosing that specific genre example. Email The first Genre Sample I chose, was to write an email to Eric Anderson, the mayor of the Mankato City Council. I decided to write to Eric Anderson because I assumed he would be the best person to contact about starting a proposal for a new grocery store near the Minnesota State University Mankato campus. Eric Anderson could then give me some pointers on continuing this proposal and what I should do next in being able to get this approved for construction. Within the email to Eric Anderson, I stated the main purpose in writing this email to him. I proceeded to state the reasoning why there is a need for a grocery store near the MNSU campus. Finally, I asked him for any feedback on the proposal and that I looked forward to hearing back to him. At the end of the email I tried to be as professional as possible and listed my name and then some contact information of mine as well. Brochure The brochure I created will be available to the entire Mankato Community along with all the students at Minnesota State University Mankato. This brochure will be available at many locations throughout Mankato, with a major emphasis of them being around the MNSU campus. Some specific spots people will be able to find these brochures are on the MNSU campus in the CSU and surrounding business of the MNSU campus, like Kwik Trip as an example. I created this brochure to show the reason why we should have a grocery store near the MNSU campus. I wanted the brochure to be concise, but also wanted it to provide enough information to the readers. I added some fun colors to the brochure to make it a little more visually appealing. I also added some pictures throughout the brochure to give the reader some visual aids of the proposed grocery store plan. Questionnaire The questionnaire will be given out to any and every student, first year freshman to a graduate student, who is walking through the CSU at Minnesota State University Mankato. The ... The Scientific Revolution Essay During the Scientific Revolution scientists such as Galileo, Copernicus, Descartes and Bacon wrestled with questions about God, human aptitude, and the possibilities of understanding the world. Eventually, the implications of the new scientific findings began to affect the way people thought and behaved throughout Europe. Society began to question the authority of traditional knowledge about the universe. This in turn, allowed them to question traditional views of the state and social order. No longer was the world constructed as the somewhat simple Ptolemaic Model suggested. The Earth for the first time became explicable and was no longer the center of the universe. His discoveries were not so much as important as were his methods of observation and application of mathematics to explain the world. His methods of discovery helped model the direction of science over the next hundred years. Another important figure in the Scientific Revolution was Galileo Galilei. He was an Italian born professor of mathematics who had a great interest in the workings of the universe. Galileo served as a professor at the University of Padua, and it was during this time that he began to question the accuracy of the Churches representation of the world. Galileo s approach towards knowledge was much different then the afore mentioned Copernicus. Where as Copernicus presented his finding to the mercy of the church, Galileo wrote his conclusions and left the Roman Catholic Church interpret them as they chose. The very nature of his findings pitted him as an opponent of the church. The Earth was not the center of the universe. The improved EPS was accomplished with providing consistent well thought out modifications to the business model and not significant stockrepurchase. The company did strategically make annual stock repurchases starting in Year 8. During this experiment, this question will be answered. The denser the pill, then the longer dissolving rate when time is a function of the dissolving rate. Tablets, coated tablets, gel capsules, and hard capsules will be tested, and all of these each have a different densities. Medicine is a very important part in keeping humans alive and healthy. Different types are capable of many things such as: relieving pain, fighting disease, balance systems and organs in the body, fighting infection, supplementing a deficiency, helping a bodily mechanism fix itself, and decrease, and overabundance of a body substance (Howell 2017). There are many ways that medicine can be administered, and include, but are not limited to: orally, sublingually, injection, intravenous, dermal, and inhalation. After the administration, the drug is delivered throughout all of the body systems and will perform by causing the effects it was made to put out. Finally, the medicine and waste are washed out of the body. Based on ВЁPrinciples of PharmacokineticsВЁ, ВЁpharmacokinetics is the study of absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretionВЁ (Ratain 2003). In other words, the drug s pharmacokinetics determines the duration and the intensity of the effect on the body. Absorption rate can be affected by the drug itself, such as: rate of dissolution, lipid solubility, and route (VandeWaa 2016). The absorption process starts by the route of admission, in this case oral. The oral, or by mouth, route of administration for drugs is the most common. When a pill is taken by mouth, it travels down to the stomach, were most pills dissolve. While in the stomach, some kinds of pills are absorbed into the stomach lining, but some move on to the small intestine. Every pill eventually ends up in the bloodstream and circulate through the body to tissues and organs (Howell 2017). Once passive diffusion occurs, the cells absorb the molecules of the medicine. They often want to talk about how they missed having real fathers, real loving, present fathers, because of the way that they tried to fit the picture of masculinity (Steinem). This particular idea of masculinity is a much more modern interpretation that has changed drastically over the centuries. Masculinity used to be defined as a male who was a man s man that exemplified President Theodore Roosevelt s idea of pulling one s self up by the bootstraps. Over the years, especially in literature, the evolution of masculinity can be directly traced through careful and considerate evaluation and analysis. As we explore the evolution of masculinity, the key elements to fully understand include what exactly it means to be a man, how this concept has changed over time, and what it means to be a man in today s society. When the word masculinity is mentioned, typically, a specific image is conjured in the mind of the listener or reader. This image is one of confidence, a great athletic physique, and the idea of an overcomer. In a certain time period this would be exactly correct, but masculinity has evolved and changed since this definition held true. So what exactly does it mean to be a man? Patterns of serial killing fall broadly into two categories of motivation: quot;Extrinsic, where the impulse to kill is located outside the killer s psyche that is, he perceives a rational reason for murder in outside situations and events quot; (Fox and Levin 12). quot;More frequently the motivation is intrinsic to the psyche of the killer, whether or not that motivation is apparent to an independent observer quot; (Fox and Levin 12). By taking this action, the owners signaled they had come to realize the problem of disparity between big market teams (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago) and small market teams (Seattle, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee). The problem, however, was that because the owners linked their revenue sharing with a salary cap, the players felt they were being asked to solve the owners financial disparity problem. The tariffs were designed to protect the infant industries in the Northern states from British goods driving them out of business.
