2. On our website on the links bar at the top of the page there is a link that
is called ‘store’ we have added this to our website so our audience can
buy products that support our artist. For example we could offer items that
are personalised to Soraya such as t-shirts, lanyards, phone cases and bags.

3. So we know what products to offer we can look at other artists to see what they sell
as merchandise. By looking at google shopping and their websites we have discovered
many products that other similar artists have to offer for fans which we should consider
adding to our website.

create our own we could look

products such as phone cases.

4. Phone cases
Looking at other artists and bands, here are some images that show phone
cases for their audience.
This image shows that just Ellie Goulding
alone has many cases for phones. The
cases for this artist has a lot of lyrics
used from her songs for the case, for
example one says ‘anything could happen’
which is taken from one of her popular
songs. As well as lyrics a lot of girly
colours are used and one or two cases
have photos of her. Apart from this, the
cases are quite simple and are not over
the top.
The idea we could get from this could be
lines from the song we are using or just a
single edit of a photo of Soraya.

5. Other similar artists phone cases
Lana Del Rey has a similar look to
what we plan to create. Her
merchandise is also quite arty and
uses a lot of colour, however we
would make ours less girly by using
less pinks and more purples and blues.
Both of these similar artists use mainly
images on their cases and few lyrics.

6. Lanyards
Looking at various websites there is very little popularity for lanyards as products available to audience. This is
good for our artists as it gives a unique product which is not often found. Creating a lanyard would offer
something new to fans which they can wear to gigs and concerts which they can attach posters/tour
information on. Below are some examples of some lanyards used in music.
Looking at just these two
examples, both use dark
colours which looks more
professional. We should
use bright colours so
they stand out and we
could also add card
designs to hang from the
product.

7. Bags
Again using the
same examples of
Ellie Goulding and
Lana Del Rey as
they have the
same genre, they
both use a variety
of popular lyrics
and images. Most
bags have either
an image or a
lyric and rarely
have both so this
is something we
should consider
when creating our
own items.

8. Also on this same website, under the category of tote bags, there is a
refine button that you can choose what is shown on the product which is
another good idea for our store on our website. The filters show images,
drawing or text which the audience can choose from.

9. T-shirts There are different types of
clothing items available for other
merchandise sites and for other
artists. There are different style
t-shirts as well as hoodies.
The t-shirts for Ellie Goulding
are a mix of lyrics and
images but again are either
of the two rather than both
seen together which looks
good as it is not over the
top. The t-shirts are quite
basic and are mainly white

10. Stickers and posters
The posters and stickers use the same image/text but for this
item they are mainly images which are more colourful then
other products. Posters come in different sizes which we should
consider and stickers we should consider the use for the
sticker such as car stickers or any other use.

of the artist
which has
been edited
a lot to
make look a
lot brighter
and
attractive.

11. Throw pillows
Once again, Ellie Goulding
has used the same images
and lyrics that she has for
all her other merchandise.
Another artist, Lorde
has used similar ideas
such as basic designs
which are mainly
images of her.
Vampire weekend also a
similar genre to ours
also uses the same
colour and theme to
their merchandise as it
uses purple and blues
and uses lyrics and
images for products,

12. Mugs
The mugs I have chosen here all have lyrics/text on
them rather than just one image as some that had
just an image looked too much where as text was
more basic and simple but more effective as there
wasn’t too much to look at. The two images to the
left also gave an idea of using Soraya's signature for
products as it connected and gave more to fans. The
colours all use faded or subtle brightness which
again makes it look more effective.
