Mr.Chaudhuri has a wide exposure in Corporate Affairs / Strategy / Finance & Accounts / Internal
Control & Procedures / Project Monitoring / Administration and Management
Consulting through his association with various MNC organizations and leading Indian
corporate. He relinquished his position of “Head-Corporate Affairs and Strategy” with
ESKAG Pharma, a Pharma sector company having a group turnover of Rs.1700 mln., in the
very recent past and is currently working as Corporate Advisor for Strategy and Finance.
Previously, he had worked with Philips India, Mannessmann Demag, Mitsui Babcock, RS
Software, Autark Management, IIMC in Delhi & Calcutta. His major Skill Areas include
Corporate Planning & Strategy / Finance / Accounts / Regulatory, Introduction of
Administrative and Financial Systems, Internal Controls & MIS etc. His areas of
interest go beyond traditional Finance boundaries and have executed many corporate
developmental projects. He became General Manager-Finance of RS Software India Ltd.,
one of the top 20 IT Companies in India during that period, at the age of 37 years.
In between, he headed a Management Consulting Organisation called ‘Autark Management
Services Pvt. Ltd.’ during 2003-10. Autark operates in the areas of Corporate Strategy
Development, Diagnostic Studies, System & Internal Control Mechanism, restructuring of
organization and HR practices, energy management etc. It is associated with Vesuvius
India, Coates Of India, Tractors India, Balmer Lawrie, Phoenix Yule, DPSC Ltd., Bank of
Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Oberoi Group, Apollo Group, TCS, for various types of corporate services.
A very keen sports enthusiast and a natural community worker. Was instrumental in setting-
up a Sports and Cultural Club and a Reading Library in Salt Lake area.
EXPERIENCE : February 2014- September 2015 : ESKAG Pharma Ltd. – As “Head-Corporate Affairs
& Strategy”, he looked after Corporate Strategy and Planning, Risk Management,
Capital Budgeting, Finance/ Accounting issues incl. regulatory measures, Development of
Internal Control & Procedures, Interaction with Auditors, Taxation, Project Monitoring etc.
Besides that, he also looks after HRD, Manpower Planning, Recruitment, Distribution,
Procurement, Administration at a Management level [not in regular Line functions].
2010-2014 – Indian Institute Of Management Calcutta – IIMC - As ‘Head-CMDP’
(Consulting Division), looked after entire operations and finance of this independent
SBU (avg. Billing Rs.60 crs.) incl. Execution, Project Monitoring, Accounting, Budgeting,
Promotion, Resourcing, Allotments and interactions with clients from government and
private Sector.
2003-2010 – Autark Management Services P. Ltd. – As CEO, was instrumental in
Business Development & Finance of the concern on a Pan-India basis. Interaction with
the client to do their ‘need assessment’ and to close the order for various Consulting
assignments. Monitored & coordinated the implementation of those projects thru in-house
and outside resources.
1999 - 2003 – RS Software India – As ‘General Manager–Finance & Administration’,
looked after Finance & Accounts, Budgets, Financial Control, Shareholder Issues and
Admin Issues. Had to look after total financial operations of Corporate Office in India, the
US and UK Branch. He was a Member of “Senior Management Committee”.
2. 1997–1999 – Mitsui Babcock India, Delhi – UK MNC - As ‘Financial Controller–India’
was in-charge of entire Financial Operational aspects of Indian operation. Had handled
the project for streamlining the Indian operations in sync. with UK parent body.
1994 –1997 – Mannessmann Demag, Delhi – German MNC– As ‘Sr. Manager-Finance
& Cost Control’, had introduced a new functional area called ‘Cost Control’, earlier
looked after by German expatriates, for doing appraisals of all ongoing projects and
company’s financial performances to have a total review of company’s performances.
Also became Coordinator for “Centralized Cash management “ thru Deutsche Bank for

1989 –1994 - PHILIPS India Ltd. – As ‘Manager- Finance and Accounts’, in-charge of
Accounts function incl. Insurance & Logistics for their 100% subsidiary ELMI Ltd.

Internal Control & Procedures
a. Introduction of Internal Control System for Project Appraisals in Mannesmann Demag, Delhi. thru
development and testing of various modules in real-time situation to evaluate its efficacy,
acceptability, usefulness etc. It has resulted in better financial & administrative monitoring and saving
of expenses to the tune of almost 55 lacs. p.a.
b. Development of Internal Control System in ESKAG Pharma Ltd. in the areas of Recruitment,
Performance Assessment, Employee Disbursements and Distribution
c. Development of Internal Control Procedures on Travel Expenses, Transport, Overtime
Expenses, Misc. Accounting Expenses etc in Mitsui Babcock – New system brought about a
reduction in travel, overtime to the extent of almost 17% on annual basis.
d. On Repair & Maintenance & Spares Mgmt. for IFGL Refractories.
e. Review and Study on Purchase & Storing Procedures & Vendor Capability assessment for TIL
India (formerly Tractors India) - This is done to minimize shortage of supplies, on-time delivery,
quality delivery , quality materials etc.
Risk Management and Identification of New Business Line
f. Risk Assessment & Capital Budgeting for setting-up a plant in Durgapur Region utilizing the local
available resources for ESKAG Pharma Ltd. in terms of Coal Based Chemicals, Soda Ash etc.
g. Thru development & implementation of Procedures for Risk Assessment, Ahmed Jurak India, a
Tobacco Manufacture & Exporter wanted to identify the correct Investment Avenue for diversification
with new products in domestic market. Domestic entry has been successfully made.
h. Tractors India Ltd (TIL Ltd.) – Another similar exercise on Identification of new Business thru
Market Analysis, Scenario & Sensitivity Analysis and Risk Management Modeling. Products
involved were Heavy Road Making Equipments, Port Equipments and Material Handling Equipments
from Foreign Collaborators.
3. On Corporate Strategy & Planning
i. Study on Real Estate Rentals for commercial properties in Delhi for Mitsui Babcock – An
Exercise was undertaken at Delhi during 98-99 ( when property prices went down by almost 40% in
Delhi) to evaluate rental values of different commercial properties and related negotiations thereon
with the respective parties to bring down the office rental expenses. This exercise has resulted in
saving of yearly rental expenses by Rs. 45 lacs p.a. and one-time refund of Security Deposit to
the extent of Rs. 85 Lacs.
j. Study on Operational Efficiency of “Field Service” Division of Mitsui Babcock in India A
detailed review and study on all operational & financial issues were undertaken to have a decision as
regards its continuance by evaluating its performance and future plans and scope in the market
including taking stock of available resources through certain evaluation process, ultimately resulted in
the closure of that division.
k. Study for minimizing Insurance expenses & speedier claim settlement at Philips, Kolkata -
Cost of Insurance Premiums for Fire Insurance, Transport Insurance and various other policies were
brought down to Rs. 85 lacs from Rs. 1.18 crs. p.a. through adherence of certain norms, proper
documentation, some capital expenditure etc.
l. Evaluation on suitability of setting-up Ready-Mix Concrete Plant in Kolkata for Lafarge India -
A detailed study was undertaken throughout Kolkata and its periphery area and economic viability
was established for setting-up the same.
Corporate Developmental Activities
m. Organizational Structuring at Phoenix Yule, Kolkata for Operational Efficiency improvement
through introduction of proper delegation and authority matrix, establishment of delayered
organization, making job specification by administering questionnaire, interviews, workshops,
meetings etc.
n. Setting-up an Office in Chennai- RS Software – Coordinated the entire activity of vendor selection
and obtaining various clearances etc for setting-up of an hi-tech 25,000 sq.ft office involving a capital
outlay of Rs. 2.2 crs. at Tidel Park (Software SEZ), Chennai.
Family - His wife, Mrs. Swarnali Chaudhuri is a M.Sc-Economics from Calcutta University. She is a
teacher in Calcutta’s South Point School.
They have a daughter, Shilpi, who is currently pursuing B.Tech-ICT Course in DAIICT, Ahmedbad
His father, Late Prof. Dr. Sunil Kr. Chaudhuri, a WHO Fellow, was a renowned Medical
Professional and Former Head, Gynae. & Obst., Medical College, Calcutta.
His uncle was CMD of International Combustions; another uncle was Executive Director-Finance
of ONGC Ltd.
