During the period of the Renaissance, many prolific artists were commissioned by prominent
families and or groups to create works of art to show personal affluence and dedication to a faith
or deity. These actions, seemingly harmless, gave rise to much competition between cities, and
some more so than others. Such competition was common, especially considering the fact that
Italy was not yet a unified country and was divided up into various city states. As the city states
were ruled by affluent families, or prominent groups of people such as guilds or church leaders,
rivalries often were due to disputes between said groups. Such was the case in Florenceand Siena, as

I can see in my future. But each career has many aspects that differ from each other. A
pediatrician specializes in the care taking of children, while an optometrist is concerned with the
human eyes. They both require a different amount of education and make different amounts of
money. For me, I do want to work with kids, but helping people with their eyes really interests
