This study examined the abundance of invasive Asian jumping worms across four habitats in Wisconsin - prairie, deciduous forest, coniferous forest, and oak savanna. The researchers hypothesized the deciduous forest would have the highest abundance due to higher organic matter levels. Contrary to the hypothesis, the deciduous forest did not contain significantly more jumping worms than other habitats. The oak savanna actually had a significantly greater average number of jumping worms. While no habitat was shown to be at significantly greater risk, the results suggest jumping worms can invade a variety of ecosystems in Wisconsin.

Allelopathy effect of Prosopis juliflora canopy soil aqueous extracts on tropical grass species such as Cenchrus cillaris, Paspalidium desertorum and Lintonia nutans were tested under in vitro conditions. Leaf litter falling under canopy soil was collected and tested for allelopathic effects of soil aqueous extract under natural conditions. All the soil aqueous extracts showed significantly negative effects on both germination and seedling growth of test grass species. The results showed that seed germination percentage decreased with increasing the level of the concentration as well as canopy distance. In Cenchrus ciliaris grass species showed 41.64 and 28.56% reduction in seed germination with 5 and 10% soil aqueous extract respectively, in 0 to 3 meter canopy distance. Whereas, at the same concentration level, the seed germination percentage was 57 and 53% in 3 to 10 meter canopy distance. A similar trend of reduction in seed germination percentage was also noticed in Paspalidium desertorum and Lintonia nutans grass species. Moreover, this study revealed that seedling growth such as shoot and root length was significantly affected by canopy soil extracts at the highest concentration. The effect of 0 to 3 meter canopy soil extract was the highest, followed by 3 to 10 meter canopy soil extracts. Moreover, at low concentration canopy, soil aqueous extract showed less inhibitory effect as compared with higher concentration. It can conclude that Prosopis juliflora contains water-soluble allelochemicals capable of inhibiting selected grass species and Prosopis is not good for agro ecosystem and biodiversity.

The present study was designed to record the distribution of ground dwelling spider genera among berseem crop at Okara district. Sampling was made from Trifolium crop on fortnight basis through pitfall traps. Equal number of traps were placed in three rows e.g. along the boundary, middle of the field and centre of the field. Each trap was filled with mixture solution of alcohol and glycerin (70:30%) along with few drops of kerosene oil. After 5 days interval sample traps was collected and spider specimens were washed with distilled water and permanently stored in labeled glass vials, and brought into the Pest Control Laboratory, Departmentof Zoology, Wildlife and Fisheries, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. Thereafter, each spider specimen was identified according to the taxonomic material and internet source. Identified data was analyzed statistically to quantify their spatial distribution. Overall maximum spatial distribution of spider population was documented in middle transect than boundary and centre of the berseem crop. It was also observed that temperature, humidity, vegetation and prey availability were the major factors that effecting the spider population. Population variations were recorded during the months of February, March and April in 2015, due to rise of temperature, decrease of humidity and availability of prey. It was concluded that despite to cosmopolitan nature, spiders have some correlation with suitable local conditions or habitat. More over, spiders are cost effective, functionally significant and play a key role in regulating decomposer population. Assuming spherical symmetry and weak field, it is shown that if one solves the Poisson equation or the Einstein field
equations sourced by a topological defect, i.e. a singularity of a very specific form, the result is a localized gravitational
field capable of driving flat rotation (i.e. Keplerian circular orbits at a constant speed for all radii) of test masses on a thin
spherical shell without any underlying mass. Moreover, a large-scale structure which exploits this solution by assembling
concentrically a number of such topological defects can establish a flat stellar or galactic rotation curve, and can also deflect
light in the same manner as an equipotential (isothermal) sphere. Thus, the need for dark matter or modified gravity theory is
mitigated, at least in part.

Describing and Interpreting an Immersive Learning Case with the Immersion Cub...
Current descriptions of immersive learning cases are often difficult or impossible to compare. This is due to a myriad of different options on what details to include, which aspects are relevant, and on the descriptive approaches employed. Also, these aspects often combine very specific details with more general guidelines or indicate intents and rationales without clarifying their implementation. In this paper we provide a method to describe immersive learning cases that is structured to enable comparisons, yet flexible enough to allow researchers and practitioners to decide which aspects to include. This method leverages a taxonomy that classifies educational aspects at three levels (uses, practices, and strategies) and then utilizes two frameworks, the Immersive Learning Brain and the Immersion Cube, to enable a structured description and interpretation of immersive learning cases. The method is then demonstrated on a published immersive learning case on training for wind turbine maintenance using virtual reality. Applying the method results in a structured artifact, the Immersive Learning Case Sheet, that tags the case with its proximal uses, practices, and strategies, and refines the free text case description to ensure that matching details are included. This contribution is thus a case description method in support of future comparative research of immersive learning cases. We then discuss how the resulting description and interpretation can be leveraged to change immersion learning cases, by enriching them (considering low-effort changes or additions) or innovating (exploring more challenging avenues of transformation). The method holds significant promise to support better-grounded research in immersive learning.

The debris of the ‘last major merger’ is dynamically young
The Milky Way’s (MW) inner stellar halo contains an [Fe/H]-rich component with highly eccentric orbits, often referred to as the
‘last major merger.’ Hypotheses for the origin of this component include Gaia-Sausage/Enceladus (GSE), where the progenitor
collided with the MW proto-disc 8–11 Gyr ago, and the Virgo Radial Merger (VRM), where the progenitor collided with the
MW disc within the last 3 Gyr. These two scenarios make different predictions about observable structure in local phase space,
because the morphology of debris depends on how long it has had to phase mix. The recently identified phase-space folds in Gaia
DR3 have positive caustic velocities, making them fundamentally different than the phase-mixed chevrons found in simulations
at late times. Roughly 20 per cent of the stars in the prograde local stellar halo are associated with the observed caustics. Based
on a simple phase-mixing model, the observed number of caustics are consistent with a merger that occurred 1–2 Gyr ago.
We also compare the observed phase-space distribution to FIRE-2 Latte simulations of GSE-like mergers, using a quantitative
measurement of phase mixing (2D causticality). The observed local phase-space distribution best matches the simulated data
1–2 Gyr after collision, and certainly not later than 3 Gyr. This is further evidence that the progenitor of the ‘last major merger’
did not collide with the MW proto-disc at early times, as is thought for the GSE, but instead collided with the MW disc within
the last few Gyr, consistent with the body of work surrounding the VRM.

Fauna stratification on the Forest Floor of Eucalyptus Grove Zvi Sever Biology Dep., University of Indianapolis, U.S.A SEV@NETVISION.NET.IL (Presented: Zoological Society of Israel's conference 2012) In order to obtain data on the invertebrates inhabiting the forest floor of a eucalyptus grove, I sectioned off a 1000 sq.m. populated by Red River Gum trees (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) in Hakfar Hayarok. Monthly samples were taken over a ten-month period, composed of three 20x20 cm of leaves and soil that had been filtered through nets (4x4 cm to 3x3 mm). The ground was filtered to a depth of 20 cm, from four layers: 0-5, 5-10, 10-15, 15-20 cm deep. Pitfall traps were placed twice monthly. A total of 201 specimens were caught. Accordingly, 33 species were found on the ground surface: 2 land crabs, 3 centipedes, 11 spiders, and 17 species of insects. The 20X20X20 cm volume of filtered soil produced 38 species: 1 worm, 2 land crabs, 2 centipedes,3 snails, 5 spiders, and 25 species of insects. The layers of leaves and soil contained more insects than other species. A total of 130 specimens were extracted from the ground layers. Examining the number of organisms, there is similarity in the distribution pattern between the first layer (5 cm depth) and the second layer (5 - 10 cm). Still it was noted that more individuals were present in the first layer. In the third layer (10 - 15 cm), invertebrates were seen in the spring and early summer, although quantitatively less there than in the upper layers. (3 specimens per sample as compared to between 5 and 12 specimens, respectively). The model of the fourth layer (15 - 20 cm) is similar to the one above it, though larger quantities of organisms were observed in the autumn. Only here organisms were found during the autumn, usually the larvae of insects. In late summer no organisms over the size of 3 mm were found in all the soil layers. It would be worthy to carry out further investigations by filtering the forest floor of other species of eucalyptus.
