With plant staffs stretched thin at a time of continuing manufacturing growth, system integrators have come into increasing prominence. Understanding what should you expect from your SI—and what he should expect from you—is critical to ensuring that your project is achieved on time, on budget and up and running on Day 1.
Were we Just Hacked? Applying Digital Forensic Techniques for your Industrial...ControlEng
Companies that have had their industrial networks attacked from the outside usually don’t realize it at all, or if they do, that knowledge probably comes a year or more after the initial incident. Why? Companies don’t understand their own networks well enough to know when something is happening that shouldn’t be happening. There is no practical way to apply concepts of digital forensic investigation if you don’t understand your own networks. Robert M. Lee and Matthew E. Luallen will discuss how you can analyze and document your systems well enough to perform incident response and learn from those attacks. Your ability to know every detail about your systems is the biggest advantage you have when trying to secure your systems. Put that knowledge to work.
Industrial Automation and Modern ConnectivityControlEng
In an age when manufacturing is overrun with information, getting the right information to the right person at the right time is crucial. A new era of mobile devices has helped deliver the promise of greater productivity. With it comes the challenge of network security, achieving both is possible, as we’ll demonstrate.
10 Warning Signs of Weak Requirements ManagementPerforce
Struggling to find the latest version of your requirements document? Stakeholder input and reviews getting lost? Customers finding bugs that should have been fixed and tested before release? These common problems and seven others mean you need a better way to manage and track requirements.
We will also show you how Helix ALM solves these problems and helps:
- Facilitate requirements reviews.
- Centralize, organize, and customize requirements data.
- Automate traceability.
- Simplify backwards and forwards impact analysis.
- Extend JIRA’s capabilities to requirements management.

Can you process 10 trillion logs per day software architecture conference 2015Sumo Logic
Built on AWS, Sumo Logic’s multitenant machine data analytics service has scaled to query over 10 trillion logs per day. Christian Beedgen, Sumo Logic’s cofounder and CTO, will walk you through the planning and execution of a massive SaaS architecture and key insights he had along the way.
Topics include:
- a short history of scale
how we have needed to scale incrementally by several orders of magnitude since 2010
- how to recover from being an enterprise software engineer the realization that arguing with customers about Solaris vs Linux, and RAID 6 vs RAID 10 when selling them software is a waste of time; nobody wants to know how to run your system, users want to actually use your system; how building services is a way out of the enterprise software conundrum of having to manage increasingly complex systems is dragging users down; how the cloud turns every programmer into a datacenter architect
- herding microservices
a look at Sumo Logic’s microservices architecture; why we went this way; what we had to build to manage the herd 4 years ago; what we could today take off the shelf; how any real system service architecture diagram looks like spaghetti; how we deal with this at scale in operations
- factoring and refactoring on a new level, or how everything old is new again
maybe our OO skills are still useful; programmable infrastructure is still a program; any program benefits from factoring; any program benefits from refactoring; any system should be highly cohesive and loosely coupled; guess what, this still applies, but at a +1 higher layer of abstraction
- when not to scale
scaling out is great; scaling out in light of state is a bad idea; data and locality fragmentation; fractal horizontal scaling using partitioning and affinity; how to manage this operationally at runtime; musings on copy and paste scaling
Cloud architects – if you’re looking to improve scalability and performance, this session will share successes (and failures!) applicable to your own infrastructure.
Outside the Comfort Zone: Cross Industry Use Cases in Big Data AnalyticsRising Media Ltd.
When it comes to high tech, we tend to wear blinders. We rarely look around to see how others succeed. This is especially true with organizations who want to look beyond basic BI and reveal answers to questions they never thought to ask. What would demand forecasting for a CMO in media mean to a CIO in banking? What would Proactive Customer Care in telecom mean to a Chief Revenue Officer at a global retailer? Let's dig into some cross industry use cases that will get you outside your comfort zone and allow you to take a different look at how applications of advanced and predictive analytics can help you act on new insights that transform your business.

Joined our community-led event to dive into the world of Artificial Intelligence (AI)! Whether you were just starting your AI journey or already familiar with its concepts, one thing was certain: AI was reshaping the future of work. This enablement session was your chance to level up your skills and stay ahead in that rapidly evolving landscape.
As AI news continues to dominate headlines, it's natural to have questions and concerns about its impact on our lives. Will AI take over human jobs? Will it render us obsolete? Rest assured, the outlook is far brighter than you may think. Rather than replacing humans, AI is designed to enhance our capabilities and work alongside us. It won't be replacing marketers, service representatives, or salespeople—it will be empowering them to achieve even greater results. Companies across industries recognize this potential and are embracing AI to unlock new levels of performance.
During this enablement session, you'll have the opportunity to explore how AI advancements can positively influence your professional journey and daily life. We'll debunk common misconceptions, address fears, and showcase real-world examples of how successful AI implementation leads to workforce augmentation rather than replacement. Be prepared to gain valuable insights and practical knowledge that will help you navigate the AI landscape with confidence.

Many more useful measurements could be taken in discrete manufacturing and process plant applications without the expense and labor related to wire and cables for some hard-to-reach applications. Wiring in manufacturing or process-plant settings, with the accompanying complex supporting infrastructure and labor, drops from high ceilings or trenching can add 10-fold or more to installation costs. It doesn’t have to be that way. Industrial wireless technologies can provide cost-effective reliable communications. Key considerations and application examples will be discussed by Dan Capano, owner and president of Diversified Technical Services Inc. Mark T. Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.

Automobile Management System Project Report.pdfKamal Acharya
The proposed project is developed to manage the automobile in the automobile dealer company. The main module in this project is login, automobile management, customer management, sales, complaints and reports. The first module is the login. The automobile showroom owner should login to the project for usage. The username and password are verified and if it is correct, next form opens. If the username and password are not correct, it shows the error message.
When a customer search for a automobile, if the automobile is available, they will be taken to a page that shows the details of the automobile including automobile name, automobile ID, quantity, price etc. “Automobile Management System” is useful for maintaining automobiles, customers effectively and hence helps for establishing good relation between customer and automobile organization. It contains various customized modules for effectively maintaining automobiles and stock information accurately and safely.
When the automobile is sold to the customer, stock will be reduced automatically. When a new purchase is made, stock will be increased automatically. While selecting automobiles for sale, the proposed software will automatically check for total number of available stock of that particular item, if the total stock of that particular item is less than 5, software will notify the user to purchase the particular item.
Also when the user tries to sale items which are not in stock, the system will prompt the user that the stock is not enough. Customers of this system can search for a automobile; can purchase a automobile easily by selecting fast. On the other hand the stock of automobiles can be maintained perfectly by the automobile shop manager overcoming the drawbacks of existing system.
