Entering the field of social work has opened my mind to different concepts and theories. In this paper,
I will explain my understanding of the systems theory, social constructionist perspective, as well as
conflict theory. I will also compare and contrast the social constructionist perspective (SCP) and the
conflict theory against the system theory.
Systems Theory
I have enjoyed learning about the origin of different theories, the evolution over time, and how we
incorporate them into present day. In America during the 1960 s, social workers were drawn to the
concepts outlined in systems perspective theory and general systems theory. Through the 1960 s and
1970 s, these two theories were widely considered the dominant theoretical perspective (Hutchison, E.
D. (2017) outlining the framework to the field of social work. To help further understand the functions
of these perspectives, projects were completed by experts in the field of social work. These ideas were
accepted, and overtime social workers would reference material originated from articles and research
projects. For example; Austrian biologist, Karl Luwig von Bertalanffy is considered one of the

important , they were two things that made me pause and reflect on our current task at my school. I
know that much of this class is focusing on quality in higher education, but the parallels with K 12 are

During the late 60 s and early 70 s a series of studies were conducted on public water supplies due to
health concerns, which concluded that many treatment facilities were inadequate (2000). In an effort
to address public health concerns, Congress enacted the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) of 1974,

campgrounds and gas stations, and non transient non community water, which include hospitals and

After the Second World War, attention immediately turned towards reconstructing a better world. Like
the earlier world war, it destroyed a previous social and economic order (Curtis, 1996). Many of tall
buildings were built to meet the large number of human requirements. Modernism was rapidly
developed at that time. This essay aims to explore the development of modernism after World War II
by compare and contrast the two apartments which are Hansaviertel Apartment in German and Society
