Mathematics is a type of reasoning. Thinking mathematically includes thinking in a rational way,

Stockholm Syndrome Or Norrmalmstorg Syndrome
Love can form in many different ways; maybe from first sight, childhood memories, recent times
or kidnapping wait what? As ridiculous as it sounds, falling in love for your captor or abuser has
been an actual phenomenon that unfortunately exists in our world; Often called Stockholm
Syndrome, Or Norrmalmstorg Syndrome , it is a psychological condition that makes the captive
believe in an alliance with their captor. On August 23, 1973 in Stockholm, Sweden 4 bank
workers were taken in hostage by Jan Erik Olsson for a 6 day stand off with the police at the
Kreditbaken until the workers were finally released; Jan Erik was immediately put under arrest
after surrendering. However, once the captives were freed, they showed shocking behavior of
showing sympathy and made positive relationships with Jan Erik; this baffled people when the
captives started acting like this considering the fact that Olsson and his accomplice Clark Olofsson
tortured them with nooses and dynamite sticks and threatened to kill them many times during those
131 hours. Gaining the name thanks to Nils Bejerot, a criminologist and psychiatrist, after he
analyzed the victims brains. A year later in 1974 came another case of the syndrome; Patty Hearst,
the granddaughter and heiress of William Randolph Hearst, was held captive by the Symbionese
Liberation Armyand brainwashed into accepting their ideas. In April she was caught robbing a
bank in San Francisco via CCTV and was sentenced to 7 years of prison in

Timothy Mcveeigh Research Paper
When people think of Oklahoma, they usually think about flatlands and waving wheat. The
thought of terrorism would never come into mind. This is exactly what the people of Oklahoma
City would ve been thinking if asked about terrorism. Sadly, on the day of April 19, 1995,
Oklahoma and the nation was shocked as the unthinkable happened. The rest of the world stood
still, and watched as people were rushed from the building. Families received information about
their loved ones, and soon learned that they were no longer living. Parents were also sickened by
the fact that their children would never be able to go to daycare again. As for the man in charge of
this operation, his slow but authorized death was watched by families and friends of the victims.
The rest of the nation should ve been able to view this great punishment along with the families
who were affected. Timothy McVeighwas a young child who grew up just like any other kid in
America. He grew up in a town called... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For some people, this was a day to remember the awful things that one man caused. For others, it
was a day of celebration. One man got what he deserved, and people rejoiced. However, some
people believe that Timothy McVeigh should not get what he wished for. He wanted the whole
nation to witness his death because he believed that it would prove his point. His view on his own
execution, was his way of showing that the government was corrupt. He believed that the
government was unconstitutional and that they were using McVeigh as a cover. No matter his
view, it would never change the fact that he killed innocent people and children. Many Americans
realized this, and they wanted to witness his final moments. The people should have been able to
see, and even Timothy McVeigh agreed upon this. For some, seeing McVeigh killed would be the
only thing that allowed them to cope with the loss of loved ones and

The Christian Faith
One of the foundations of the Christian faith is the belief that God is actively working in His
creation. God did not create the world and leave it to its own fate. Instead, God is still actively
involved in every part of His creation today. This belief is crucial for the Christian scientists in
today s world. Ones who study cells and molecules can discover how astounding and detailed
God, the Creator, is with this belief in mind. God is working through his seen and unseen
creation. In the tiniest cell, God s workmanship can be displayed. God made each cell to have a
specific purpose towards the human body or the plant. Cells and molecules are the work of an
intelligent designer and are not random chances. Without God, cells could not accomplish their
purpose. God places every geneon DNAand makes the cells come together to form a human. For
you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother s womb (Psalm 139:13, NIV).
Through cells and molecules, God creates each unique person on His earth.
When a Christian scientist knows God is at work in His creation, they can have a new perspective
of cells. They will see cells as the design of God instead of results of randomness. Once they
observe and study cells, they can learn more about God. They can learn how detail oriented and
omniscient He is. God is in control not only of the seen world, but also the world we can only see
under the microscope! Each cell and molecule are shaped a specific way to carry out a

Greed In The Necklace And Flowers For Algernon
He who wants everything every time will lose everything every time. This is a quote by Vikrant
Parsal. What he is trying to say is that if you are always trying to obtain things that others have,
you may lose something that you currently take for granted. Therefore, it is better to be content
with what you have in your possession. Greed is one of the themes that connects the texts The
Necklace and Flowers for Algernon . I will explain the other similarities of these texts using
theme, mood, and characterization. Characters choices in books can help me to understand and
anticipate the consequences of my choices because many choices made by characters are based
on real life situations. I will begin by examining how the themes of both texts supports my ideas
and observations. To start off, the life lessons, or themes, of short novels can show how
characters choices affect their day to day life, and life in the long term. In The Necklace , one of
the main themes is the more you get, the more you lose . One of the choices the main character
makes is to borrow a necklace from her friend. On her way home from the festival she attended,
she turns to her husband in horror and exclaims I ve lost Madame Forestier s necklace! . This is
the consequence of her choice to borrow the necklace out of greed and dissatisfaction with what
she had and her social status. I have found a similar theme in the second text The Monkey s Paw .
The theme I found was don t wish for more than

The Front De Liberation Du Quebec
Active since 1963, the Front de Liberation du Quebec s (FLQ) violent actions in October 1970 cost
Canadians citizens their rights and freedoms in an attempt to establish Quebec as a separate nation.
Prior to Canada becoming a nation and to this date, Quebec has engaged in a tense relationship with
English Canada and harbours longstanding resentments over language, religion and
multiculturalism. Throughout the 1960 s, the province underwent profound change during the
Quiet Revolution and Quebecnationalism soared. During this time, the FLQ organized several
bombings and riots. The culmination of the FLQ s actions in 1970 is referred to as the October
Crisiswhich translated into the kidnapping of British Trade Commissioner James Cross and the
murder of Quebec Labour Minister Pierre Laporte. The October Crisis also represents Canada s
only encounter with domestic terrorism and the third time the War Measures Act was invoked. The
decision to invoke the War Measures Act was a controversial one made by Prime Minister Pierre
Trudeauand Quebec Premier Robert Bourassa since it imposed national martial law. Upon
examination of the FLQ s actions during the October Crisis, the response from the federal
government and the impact on Quebec nationalism and the rest of Canada, it is apparent that the
government handled the October Crisis tactfully and was correct to invoke the War Measures Act.
Through the FLQ s violent history, the kidnapping of James Cross and the murder of

Spirits Homecoming
Based on the true story of Kang Il Chul, a comfort woman, the completion and screening of
Spirits Homecoming was a triumph on itself, as you can read here. The script moves on two
axes: The first one takes place in 1943, during Japanese Occupation of Korea. 14 year old Jung
min lives a poor but happy life with her parents in the countryside. Her life changes radically for
the worse, when she is picked by the Japanese army to act as a comfort woman for the soldiers,
as the authorities picked this way to comfort the stressed soldiers of the front. As her life
becomes a living hell, with the beating and raping being an everyday occurrence, she manages to
make friend, Jung min. Evenutally, along with some other girls, she tries to escape. The second
axis takes place in 1991, where an older Jing min works as a tailor. One of her clients is the chief
priest of a temple, where the newest members is a medium, Eun kyeong. The young girl, who has
fallen victim to rape, seems to be able to communicate with Jung min. Two radically different axes

an artfully photographed sequence, with a panoramic take that shows the terrible things that occur
in all of the small rooms in the building, simultaneously. There are some scenes that are quite
beautiful, as the ones in the beginning where Jung min rides in the back of her father s bike and
the one where the girls are sitting over a kind of pond and sing, but the general sense is truly

Title IX And Gender Equality
Title IX helped to progress girls educational opportunities in the field of extra curricular and
female athletics. John F. Kennedy was a breeding ground for the benefits to be reaped by the
opportunities put in place by the passage of the legislation of Title IX.
Title IX is part of the United States Education Amendments of 1972. It was meant to address
some the flaws in the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was written in order
to end discrimination in various fields based on sex, religion, race, color, or national origin, in the
area of employment. The drawback of this act was that it did not include any prohibition on gender

This has led us to believe that men s sports deserve more attention and funds. Title IX fixed the
funding issue but made it almost impossible to comply to. The problem with the law was its
proportionality factor. There had to be an equal number of sports and similar spending on
activities for boys and girls. A few sports that are quite expensive are available to both genders
but are dominated by men; such as football and wrestling. The cost of these programs was far
greater than the cost of many of the other sports and many argued that because the same amount
of money wasn t being spent on females sports, it violated Title IX. The rules for this scenario
became lenient because it was impossible to fix the amount of spending that is necessary for
certain sports to operate. This issue makes it almost impossible to be proportional so only 20% of
all high schools and universities are technically in compliance with Title IX requirements (New

and Schmid, A. 2008). In contrast, the United States established the Affordable Care Act (ACA),
which was implemented to improve access to health, improve quality of health, and make health
care more affordable. Historically, Americans were treated with medicinal herbs and anecdotal
information in their homes. Doctors were sole decision makers about admissions, length of stay,
resource use, and referrals. The U.S health care system changed by having hospital fiscal penalties
for lengths of stay, admissions require payer approval, and readmissions carry penalties. As well as,
people are getting treated in hospitals, primary care office, and rehabs, instead of their homes.
Having access to hospitals, and getting treated with these new drugs and new technologies, one
would think that everyone would get the same kind of health care. However, gender and ethnic
disparities contribute to many individuals having access to health care. Access to health is the
determinant factor of the health disparities. In the United States disparities are well documented in
minority populations such as African Americans, Native Americans, Asian Americans and
Hispanics, all of which constitute twenty eight percent of the population (McHenry, G.). Ethnic
disparities, indicators include social justice, economic realities, shifting census, and disease burden.
Latinos tend to have low access to care and language barriers effecting both access and quality care.

Analysis Of The Knife Of Never Letting Go
The Knife of Never Letting Go Rough Draft In the book, The Knife of Never Letting Go by
Patrick Ness, Todd is the only boy in Prentisstown that is a month away from becoming a man.
Todd is forced to leave his one and only beloved town, with only his dog,a knife and a backpack,
running for his life from an army that can hear his every thought. The Knife of Never Letting Go
is based on, superiority is lost when manhood is developed and friendships are grown through
identity. One of the few things Todd is given as he is forced to leave is a knife, It s a hunting

Todd has taken a step closer to entering manhood, and the knife has taken a step of having less
power in his eyes. When Aaron is telling Todd to kill him, Viola takes the knife and kills him,
And gravity takes his body and he slumps sideways. Away from the pulpit. And over the edge.
And disappears under the wall of water. Taking the knife with him (Ness, 463). As soon as the
knife and Aaron hit the ground, all of Todd s superiority and power is lost and he becomes a man.
Todd has humbled himself and that is the real definition of a man, and Todd has to learn that.
Todd s dog, Manchee, plays a big role in loyalty and the friendship. Because Todd is the only boy
left of his town he is given a dog for company, so suddenly here s this brand new dog as a present
for my birthday last year when I never said I wanted any dog, that what I said I wanted was for

America And Free Speech Go Together Like Burger King

Americans and free speech go together like burger king. You can always have it your way, but at
what cost? Free speech is something that has been around for a long time, but has involved seen
various dilemmas that make you want to question it your own freedom. Although free speech was
guaranteed in the first amendment there have been many situations that in a complex way make
you think about your own rights the whole purpose of being born in the United States with them. If
I was to wake up one day decide that I wanted to freely create a protest expressing that I support
gay rights or the LGBT community then by all means I should be able to do that without any
interference.
Freedom of speech is the balance between personal liberty government authority. Free speech
started began when the settlers came over to the United States from Europe made the original
British colonies (Freedom Of Speech, 2014). Because of this right being made, having the liberty
of free speech means that an individual or the press have the absolute right to talk or express their
opinions freely (Freedom Of Speech, 2014).
In the same fashion the case that I m getting ready to bring up clearly represents the purpose of
having the liberty of free speech the cost of having that. In addition, the island school district case

Ancient Greek Forms Of Government
Ancient Greece experienced many forms of government during its lifespan. The different cities, that
composed Ancient Greece, experienced with these forms of governments one after another. Or
sometimes neighbored cities would be ruled differently, by one man or a group of men. Some of
the popular forms of ruling were a monarchy, aristocracy, tyranny, oligarchy and a more widely
known form, democracy. Ancient Greeks proved to us how effective and how long these forms of
ruling were able to last before falling apart. Let s look at each one of them and see how different
they are form each other and what makes them similar. A monarchy is a political system where
power is held by someone called a monarch. Wilde adds: Monarchs usually both hold and achieve
their position through the right of hereditary succession (e.g. they were related, usually the son or
daughter, of the previous monarch) (Wilde, April 2017). Although monarchies might have been
popular in different parts of the world, it wasn t the case in Ancient Greeceas Cartwright pointed
that out (March, 2013). There were only two states who qualified as monarchies in Greek. These
states were Macedonia and Epeiros, but the monarch shared the power he had with an assembly
(Cartwright, March 2017). One political system that showed some similarities to a monarchy is an
aristocracy. This form of government is when the best (in ancient Greece s case, aristocrats) rules
(Brouwers, June 2015). This means that only a special

To sum up, same sex marriage has destroyed the traditional system of marriage. This cannot be
solved by adopting children, in addition, homosexual parents may lead the negative impacts to
their adopted child and may affect their childhood. Furthermore, labour force will be lowered if
same sex marriage be legalized since the amount of offspring are lowered cause the rate of
traditional marriages decreased. With less amount of labour force in the society, the productivity
may also decreased. Consequently, same sex marriage should not be legalized in Hong Kong.

Drugs and the Music Industry

Drugs and the Music Industry Throughout the years, drugs and music have been as synonymous as
America and baseball. Especially within the past 50 years, this nation has experienced the birth, and
death, of many genres of music due to rampant drug use. Sure, we all know that drugs are bad for
you and that if you abuse them, they will eventually lead to your death, but these substances have
created music that has inspired millions around the world, and who is to say that is a bad thing?
We have all benefited in one way or another from a musicians use of mind altering chemicals or in
some cases, plants, and this is an undeniable fact. Drugs have had an overall positive impact on the

The use of drugs in the music scene was at its most extreme during the Hardcore Punk movement of
the 1980 s. This scene was entirely different from any that was experienced before. Drug use also
held initial significance in the movement; the inherent connection between recreational drug use
and the production of rock music applied to the Hardcore movement just as it appeared in the
music of the 60 s. (Cashbaugh) The punks took any drug that was available to them that was
cheap and hit fast and hard. Inevitably, their drug of choice became speed because, It was cheap,
it was around, and you could play fast music on it. It also curtailed your appetite. In San
Francisco, the Negative Trend guys literally lived on potatoes. (Marzuk) This revolutionary drug
let musicians play for days upon end with no sleep and little need for basic necessities. It may
have taken a toll on their bodies, however the pure, raw energy it created was something never

that shows a direct correlation between drug and alcohol use and the creative parts of your brains.
To the contrary, studies have shown that I actually limits the amount your brain functions.

The Kinsey Scale
Human Sexuality 21

Pros and Cons of the Kinsey s Scale
Sex was such a horrible topic to talk about, but a biologist of Indiana University introduced a scale
that broke the silence. The silence changed due to this biologist named Alfred C. Kinsey (1894
1956). Kinsey broke the silence because before the scale everyone would keep their sexual
orientation to themselves and most likely did not tell anyone. In other words, he was a great
influence to people because since then people have become a bit more open about themselves. The
importance of Kinsey is that he has conducted several of researches. For instance, on one of his
research he found out that many people had sexual experiences with both female ... Show more

They would view the life of homosexuals with a clear mind that isn t going to judge instead of
fighting against what they have been taught since birth. The gender roles teach people how to
act according to their sex; if someone goes against the traditional teachings than they are viewed
as outcasts. Society looks at them as a mishap. This article strengthens the Kinsey scale because
it shows how subjective views can affect the lives of people for the worse. For example, the
subjective bias view of Wardle, a law professor at Brigham Young University has affected the lives
of homosexuals in several states because he:
charged the legal profession and social scientists with an ideological bias favoring gay rights that
has compromised most research in this field and the liberal judicial and policy decisions it has
informed. He presented a harshly critical assessment of the research and argued for a presumptive
judicial standard in favor of awarding child custody to heterosexual married couples. The
following year, Wardle drafted new state regulations in Utah that restrict adoption and foster care
placements to households in which all adults are related by blood or marriage (Biblarz Stacey 2001).
Wardle s state regulations spread to Florida, Arkansas, and Mississippi [they] have [also] imposed
restrictions on adoption and/or foster care, and such bills have been introduced in the legislatures
of 10 additional states (Biblarz Stacey 2001).

Ionic Compounds And Molecular Compounds
Introduction: Ionic compounds and molecular compounds are very different. These differences
can be used to distinguish one from another by using the main properties for each compound. For
example, if a substance could not conduct electricity and had low melting points, it would be
labeled as a molecular compound since those properties correspond directly with the properties of
a molecular compound. If a substance was able to conduct electricity and had high melting points,
it would be labeled as a ionic compound because those properties correspond directly with the
properties of an ionic compound. The differences in whether a substance has the ability to conduct
electricity or not and whether it has high or low melting temperatures can be... Show more content

Covalent compounds are the opposite. Instead, covalent bonds can melt very fast under heat. Also,
covalent compounds are not good conductors of electricity, whether in solid or liquid form. If you
have a substance, you can verify whether its an ionic compound or a covalent compound by seeing
whether it s a metal nonmetal relationship or nonmetal nonmetal relationship. The objective of the
experiment is to find out which of the known substances were ionic compounds and which were
molecular compounds based on their properties. We predict that the compounds with high melting
points and conduction of electricity would be ionic compounds because those are the specific
properties of an ionic compound. The compounds with low melting points and no conduction of
electricity would be covalent compounds because those are the specific properties of a covalent
compound. The solubility of the six compounds were checked when each compound was mixed in
water and the conductivity of electricity was tested with the electrodes. High and low melting
points were tested by putting different substances above a flame and seeing how long it took to
melt. It was found that three mystery compounds were ionic compounds while the other three
mystery compounds were molecular compounds. Materials and Methods : Before the experiment
was initiated, qualitative observations were taken for all six mystery compounds and recorded.

Willy Loman And The American Dream
Embedded deep within the historical the play Death of a Salesman , penned by the late Arthur
Miller greatly portrays a specific ideology in regards to values, dreams and goals. Death of a
Salesman vividly showcases the American dream that society tends to strive for even in the
early 1900 s, the era in which the play was written. That dream of being a successful business
person or vendor. As well as the theory that image and physical attributes are most important to
gaining fruition! Miller does a unique job throughout the characters, Willy, Ben, and Biff to
portray how diverse the American dream is in regards to one s perspective. Miller does a
splendid job through the character Willy Loman; who plays an insecure, self deluded traveling
salesman in his sixties who strived to fulfill the American dream for over thirty years as a
salesman but, has realistically failed miserably on his goal in life! Willy pursues his American
dream by believing that personality is the key to success rather than, hard work and innovation.
This is proven when Biff made fun of the Math teacher and Willy is worried whether the kids
liked it (Miller, Death of a Salesman, 1976) or not. This vividly conveyed that fact that Willy
believes that success is acquired by being well liked . Willy an individual who craves attention
and is governed by a desire for success! He constantly refers to his older brother Ben, who made
a fortune in diamond mining in Africa, because he represents all the things that he desires for
himself and his sons. Yet ironically Willy believes that any man who is manly, good looking,
charismatic, and well liked deserves success and will naturally achieve it. Willy would often
explain to his sons how to be successful in America, according to his ideals. Because the man
who makes an appearance in the business world, the man who creates personal interest, is the
man who gets ahead. Be liked and you will never want. You take me, for instance. I never have to
wait in line to see a buyer. Willy Loman is here! That s all they have to know, and I go right
through (Miller, Death of a Salesmen, 1976, p. 33), Willy further paints an image that charm is key.

Tim Millar Rooted Play Analysis
Tim Millar s Rooted is a powerful story about his life as a gay man fighting for social justice. The
whole play is him alone on the stage giving the audience a look into his past through storytelling.
My favorite part of his story was the part of him being nine and walking to school with his friend,
a boy that he wanted to marry when he grew up. When the other boy found out that Tim wanted
to marry him, he shoved him into a ditch and made Tim take it back. It isn t a happy or funny
part of the story but it is a powerful one. The play was performed on a black box theater, no props
and only the sound effects one man can make by himself. I liked how minimal the play was, really

It could have been anyone standing on that stage and saying the same words and the story would
still be a good one, but since all this happened to him, it is all the more effective because of it. It
wasn t just any man that got to marry his lover of twenty four years, it was him. It wasn t any
little boy at the age of nine that got pushed into a ditch for being gay, it was him. Throughout the
whole performance the audience felt what Tim Millar wanted us to feel. When he was happy,
we were, when he was outraged so too was the audience. When he told us how exited he was on
June 25th 2015 to finally marry his lover, you couldn t help but be exited with him. As a
bisexual person I can connect to this story, although I ve never faced the kind of oppression that
Tim Millar and others have faced in their lives. If I were to create a play of me I would hope to
emulate his strong storytelling and way of captivating the audience. My story would be about my
struggle with depression while I was training and attempting to qualify for nationals in Tae Kwon

behind this strategic victory? Some may not know who she was, but her name was Aethelflaed,
Lady of the Mercians. She was the daughter of King Alfred the Great and sister to King Edward
the Elder. Born in about 869 and married at 16 years to secure an alliance to the Wessex Kingdom,
she rose to a magnanimous position of power. She fought back the foreign invaders with her
husband and later, her brother. Aethelflaed defended her people by building fortifications,
conquering opposing armies, and creating alliances with other nations; she deserves to be

Skinner Operant Conditioning Theory
Operant conditioning is the reinforcement of a desired behaviour, learning can be achieved
whereby a response will come to be controlled by association of a consequence. Operant
conditioning is considered to be an extension of Edward Thorndike s law of effect explained as a
person changing their behaviour to replicate positive consequences and avoid negative
consequences. B. F. Skinner, professor of Psychology at Harvard University, expanded on
Thorndike s theory (O Donohue Ferguson, 2001). This essay will analyse Skinner s development of
the theory of operant conditioning. Skinner s theory and the studies he devised will be discussed
and how they support operant conditioning.
Skinner s studies were created to support his theory of operant conditioning. Skinner devised
experiments that were based in a laboratory involved a box commonly called a Skinner Box. The
aim of Skinner was to prove that operant conditioning was a more detailed theory than classical
conditioning; by placing animals inside the box to be observed. In his experiments he used
positive punishment that is adding an undesirable consequence for example electric shocks and
positive primary reinforcement in this case it was food. Skinner using shaping explained as,
instead of rewarding only when the subject exhibit a desired behaviour any behaviour is rewarded
as long as it leads to the target behaviour. The continued reinforcement either positive or negative
explained as the delivery of a consequence that

The first painting is about spirituality. Although it doesn t look like showing spirituality, it has

painting shows the prelude of a civilization of Indian people. It include 40 stylized animal

Indian tribes, and they all used different languages. Their natural life showing characteristics of a

people made a lot of great achievements in literature, architecture, sculpture, painting, embroidery,

Embracing The Mystery. The Master keeps her mind always at one with the Tao; that is what
gives her her radiance. The Tao is ungraspable. How can her mind be at one with it? Because she
doesn t cling to ideas. The Tao is dark and unfathomable. How can it make her radiant? Because
she lets it. Since before time and space were, the Tao is. It is beyond is and is not. How do I
know this is true? I look inside myself and see. (Chapter 21, Mitchell). I understand this passage
to mean that by embracing the mystery (and not fearing it) one can learn to live a life not

how to live with fear, They were careful as someone crossing an iced over stream. Alert as a

All Members Of Congress And Fellow Americans
To all my members of Congress and fellow Americans:
Today I will be addressing some of the issues that are happening in today s society and set a plan
as to how we as Americans have to come together for the better and make a change. This country
has grown tremendously in many areas since we ve experienced our last financial crisis. During
our time of crisis there were many doubters who said that we could not make America great again
and stating that we Americans were misguided. I believe that we have proved them wrong with the
growth of the economy and deficits being cut by two thirds. This economy has touched so many
lives through the rise of wages and growing job opportunities. The goal here now is to aim at
working on common concerns such as the criminal justice reform, finding a cure and having more
studies for those battling incurable illnesses, and protecting our rights as American citizens. As
your president of the United States of America, I believe in giving everyone a fair chance as well
as a second chance. With that being said, I believe there s a need to reduce the mandatory
minimum for non violent offenders that are in the prison system. There should be no reason that a
convicted sex offender should be released to society within a minimum of 5 years and the drug
offenders must serve a minimum of 10 years or more depending on the level of the offense. These
adjustments should not only be applied to the state mandatory minimums, but also to the federal

Analysis Of The Second Sex By Simone Beauvoir
Another thing that womanhood or motherhood encapsulates in this novel is the choice to choose
between staying in a polygamous marriage or walk out, without being seen as weak or revolting.
Ramatoulaye is portrayed as an example of individual identity and choice. She chooses to marry

Hidden Homelessness, A Study By Sheffield Hallam...
INTRODUCTION TO THE RESEARCH QUESTION
Hidden Homelessness, a study by Sheffield Hallam University for Crisis, surveyed more than 400
rough sleepers revealing more than 1/5th of those interviewed had committed an imprisonable
offence in order to get off the streets for the night (THE GUARDIAN 2010).
Niven and Stewart s 2005 research indicates 30% of people released from prison are homeless and
offenders who are homeless prior to custody had one year reconviction of 79% compared with 47%
for those in accommodation (MOJ 2010).
Williams et al (2012) for the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), indicated three fifths (60%) of prisoners
believed having a place to live was important in preventing future reoffending. The Prison Reform
Trust, reported in 2013 that 68% of prisoners considered being in employment on release was an
important factor in reducing reoffending.
The aim of this research is to establish how and why homeless people come to find themselves in
prison and factors that may influence their likelihood of reoffending in future. Furthermore it
questions whether homeless offenders are being adequately supported for their release whilst in
prison by housing, health, probation, welfare and education services. It will consider previous

must take immediate action to bring this project back on track and focus resources on its successful
completion.
Recommendations and Actions to be Taken
The Organizational Development department strongly recommends that the optimization project be
placed on track with the implementation of a Total Quality approach, starting with the formulation
of a work team consisting of representatives from each impacted department. As a team, the
following actions need to be taken:

2.Identify deliverables.
3.Identify challenges to completion.
4.Define ground rules for team interaction.
5.Gather input and ideas from each department.
6.Identify resource requirements.

The Great Fire In Chicago
A city ready to burn The Fire that swept through the heart of Chicago began on Sunday night,
October 8, 1871. First, The Great Fire would burn for the rest of sunday, all of monday, and into
the early hours of Tuesday with little real opposition. They knew the city was already to burn
because в…” of 59,500 buildings were made out of wood. Barnes contained hay and coal. Tar
and wooden shingle. Factories contained flammable materials. The dry conditions, and the grass

Disadvantages Of Antitrust Law
Chief Justice Roberts stated courts in the U.S. have historically granted injunctions upon a finding
of infringement since the 19th century. The Antitrust Division in the U.S. also admits a patent
owner s rights to exclude are similar to the rights enjoyed by owners of other forms of private
property in the Antitrust Guidelines for the Licensing of Intellectual Property. Therefore, as a
fundamental principle, antitrust law does not generally prohibit the holder of any other property
right from seeking an injunctionto vindicate that right. The FTC has the right to regulate unfair
methods of competition and unfair or deceptive acts or practices under Section 5 of the Federal
Trade Commission Act. During the past two decades, the FTC has been heavily involved in
several high profile SEP disputes, including Dell Computer Corp., N Data, Rambus Inc. v. FTC,
Motorola Mobility, and Bosch GmbH. The FTC generally invokes competition lawas a basis for
investigation over these cases under Section 2 of the Sherman Act and Section 7 of the Clayton Act.
The particular concern... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These consent agreements mostly impose strict requirements for an SEP holder to seek injunctive
relief. For example, in Bosch GmbH, the FTC dictated that Bosch GmbH can only seek
injunctions against an unwilling licensee. The unwilling licensee shows unwillingness by refusing
to accept the SEP holder s offer of a license on F/RAND terms, or a court s determination. In
Motorola Mobility, the order prohibits Google/Motorola from making any future claims for
injunctions over a F/RAND Patent against a potential licensee. This unwilling licensee similarly
should refuse (1) a F/RAND offer either in writing or in sworn testimony, (2) a court order, (3) a
binding arbitration determined F/RAND terms, or (4) simply not replying to the written
confirmation requested in a F/RAND Terms from an SEP

California Gangs
There are approximately 1.4 million active street, prison, and outlaw gang members comprising
more than 33,500 gangs in the United States, according to the National Gang Intelligence Center
of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Gangs are defined as a group of people who form an
alliance for a common purpose and engage in violent or criminal activity. Gangviolence continues
to grow in California. It is inarguable that the gang problem has become more entrenched, over
the past 25 years, especially here locally in Porterville. There are many different gangs in
California, but there is a strong presence of hispanic gangs. During 1980 s, California street
gangs were divided into Surenos and Nortenos. Some say the North South battle started in the
1950s in a California prison, where two prisoners fought over a pair of shoes. One inmate formed
the Mexican Mafia for SureГ±os, and the other prisoner formed Nuestra Familia for NorteГ±os,
which is how the division was created.
The Central Valley is the dividing line for northern and southern gangs. Gangs remain the primary
distributors of drugs. Often, gang members are involved in drug sales and trafficking. Financial
gain is the primary goal of any association between these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Northern cliques are Varrio Central Poros, East Side Varrio, West Side Poros. The Southern
cliques are Southern Lifestyle and Brown Pride Surenos. The Supreme White Power is a clique
whose members are Caucasian. There are 990 gang members who live in Porterville alone as of
June. The county is home to a total of 106 cliques.
Most law enforcement personnel agree on a couple of key points: gangs will always be around, but
the negative impacts caused by gangs can be prevented or mitigated to some extent. However,
media reporting has a natural tendency to cover areas experiencing escalations in gang violence,
sometimes directly or inadvertently creating the illusion that the upsurge is

Requirements For Querying The Web Of Linked Data
5.Requirement for Web of Linked Data.
5.1Approaches for Querying the Web of Linked Data.
5.1.1Live Exploration Approaches.
This kind of approach make use of the character of ( Webs of Linked Data ), in the existence of
data links. To execute a requested Linked Data query, live exploration systems perform a
recursive URI lookup process during which they incrementally discover further URIs that also
qualify for lookup. Thus, such a system explores the queried Web by traversing data links at
query execution time. While the data retrieved during such an exploration allows for a discovery
of more URIs to look up, it also provides the basis for constructing the query result. Live
exploration systems may not need to look up all URIs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, a hybrid approach may use an index to determine a suitable set of seed URIs as
input for a subsequent live exploration process. This process may than feedback information for
updating, for expanding, or for reorganizing the index. An alternative idea is a hybrid approach
that uses an index only to prioritize discovered data links and, thus, to control a live exploration
process.
5.2 Querying of Web of Linked Data using SPARQL.
We observed two interesting findings from the history of relational and XML databases. Firstly,
from query perspective, it is desirable that an existing query language is extended to retrieve a new
type of data, allowing information from two formats to be correlated. For instance, use SQL to
query both existing relational data and new XML data. Secondly, from data management
perspective, it is valuable to express existing data with a newly defined data model and query them
with the corresponding query language. For example, publish relational data in an XML form for
exchange purpose and use XQuery to retrieve them from databases. Here, we briefly summarize the
potential interoperability of semantic web with relational and XML databases from data
management and query perspectives.
Table 1 illustrates some extensions of existing query languages for access to new types of the
data. It is well known that SQL is extended to query both relational and XML data, namely SQL
/XML, allowing SQL queries to create XML structures with a few

What Is Imperialism In Things Fall Apart
As a simply written novel with an incredibly complex theme, Things Fall Apart gives readers a
touch of cultural shock which manages to leave them unwilling to return home after the last page.
Chinua Achebe, the author, bases the plot around the experiences his people group has with
imperialism and uses events throughout the story to prove his opinion on this controversial
occurrence in history. The tale centers around Okonkwo, an Ibo man determined to stay traditional,
which becomes problematic when Europeans begin to take over African tribes and reorganize their
governments. This experience exhibits imperialism, which most know of as the policy of extending
the rule or authority of an empire or nation over foreign countries, or of acquiring... Show more

As a way for clansmen to solve problems among themselves, this judgment is vital to the
continuous survival of the Ibo people. The Ibo people s ancestors run the court, with masks to
hide their true identities and keep the illusion real to naive clansmen. Each egwugwu represents
one of the nine villages of the clan, and all gather prior to the tribunal in a hut exclusive to
members of the esoteric cult. Outside the private hut lies the ilo, the village green, where the
Ibo hold these courts and the crowd gathers around the opposing parties and the stools specified
for the elders to watch. The organization and work behind such an procedure supports the Ibo s
civility in that citizens are using their time to settle issues that others have and work together to
solve problems that may not even involve them. When a culture cooperates to achieve peace, it
proves that their relationships with each other are healthy and without any bonds between
citizens to hold a culture together, there will undoubtedly be separation which leads to falling
apart. The fact that the Ibo do this supports their civility and that they do not need imperialism.
Further evidence is provided when Evil Forest, the leader of the egwugwu, states We have heard
both sides of the case... our duty is not to blame this man or to praise that, but to settle the
dispute (93.) When a court hears both sides of a case, it proves that they value equality which is
a key quality in a civilized society as it allows everyone in the clan to be treated the same and that
prevents displeasure which could lead to a clan s destruction. Thus a judicial system becomes
necessary to an established tribe and the fact that the Ibo people have one supports the claim of
their civility and that they do not need

Please Ignore Vera Dietz Summary
Have you ever changed yourself for someone? Bought clothes that were popular, or changed
your attitude for your friends or parents. Finding yourself when everyone around you is
changing, morphing is one of that things that most people struggle with their entire life and
sometimes it defines us and other times leaves us a pickle on a big mac. Please Ignore Vera
Dietz is a novel about Vera the main protagonist going on with daily life like nothing happened
after her best friend Charlie dies. This novel communicates the idea that you are always not the
problem and that you need to step back and look at what you have, and self acceptance is the key
to all your problems.
Contemplation is a commanding thought; it can make things better or worse. Veras first big
thought of contemplation is when her mother left the family, and weather or not it was her fault.
It haunts her father that Sindy left and he dwells on her in the most minuate ways, like keeping
her clothes in the closet or her class china wear on the cabinet. Vera always wonders if its her
fault for her mother leaving because her mother in Veras words never wanted her. She is also
confused on what she wants to do with her life after college, does she want to become a vet or just
give up her dreams completely because everyone thinks that she is just going to become a stripper
just like her mother. I struggle with the same things everyday wondering if my mother would have
done if she didn t have me at such a young age.

As ridiculous as it sounds, falling in love for your captor or abuser has been an actual phenomenon that unfortunately exists in our world; Often called Stockholm Syndrome, Or Norrmalmstorg Syndrome , it is a psychological condition that makes the captive believe in an alliance with their captor. On August 23, 1973 in Stockholm, Sweden 4 bank workers were taken in hostage by Jan Erik Olsson for a 6 day stand off with the police at the Kreditbaken until the workers were finally released; Jan Erik was immediately put under arrest after surrendering. However, once the captives were freed, they showed shocking behavior of showing sympathy and made positive relationships with Jan Erik; this baffled people when the captives started acting like this considering the fact that Olsson and his accomplice Clark Olofsson tortured them with nooses and dynamite sticks and threatened to kill them many times during those 131 hours. This is exactly what the people of Oklahoma City would ve been thinking if asked about terrorism. Sadly, on the day of April 19, 1995, Oklahoma and the nation was shocked as the unthinkable happened. The rest of the world stood still, and watched as people were rushed from the building. Families received information about their loved ones, and soon learned that they were no longer living. Parents were also sickened by the fact that their children would never be able to go to daycare again. As for the man in charge of this operation, his slow but authorized death was watched by families and friends of the victims. • 7. The Christian Faith One of the foundations of the Christian faith is the belief that God is actively working in His creation. God did not create the world and leave it to its own fate. Instead, God is still actively involved in every part of His creation today. This belief is crucial for the Christian scientists in today s world. Ones who study cells and molecules can discover how astounding and detailed God, the Creator, is with this belief in mind. God is working through his seen and unseen creation. In the tiniest cell, God s workmanship can be displayed. God made each cell to have a specific purpose towards the human body or the plant. Cells and molecules are the work of an intelligent designer and are not random chances. Without God, cells could not accomplish their purpose. God places every geneon DNAand makes the cells come together to form a human. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother s womb (Psalm 139:13, NIV). Through cells and molecules, God creates each unique person on His earth. When a Christian scientist knows God is at work in His creation, they can have a new perspective of cells. They will see cells as the design of God instead of results of randomness. Once they observe and study cells, they can learn more about God. They can learn how detail oriented and omniscient He is. God is in control not only of the seen world, but also the world we can only see under the microscope! Each cell and molecule are shaped a specific way to carry out a ... What he is trying to say is that if you are always trying to obtain things that others have, you may lose something that you currently take for granted. Therefore, it is better to be content with what you have in your possession. Greed is one of the themes that connects the texts The Necklace and Flowers for Algernon . I will explain the other similarities of these texts using theme, mood, and characterization. Characters choices in books can help me to understand and anticipate the consequences of my choices because many choices made by characters are based on real life situations. I will begin by examining how the themes of both texts supports my ideas and observations. To start off, the life lessons, or themes, of short novels can show how characters choices affect their day to day life, and life in the long term. In The Necklace , one of the main themes is the more you get, the more you lose . One of the choices the main character makes is to borrow a necklace from her friend. On her way home from the festival she attended, she turns to her husband in horror and exclaims I ve lost Madame Forestier s necklace! . This is the consequence of her choice to borrow the necklace out of greed and dissatisfaction with what she had and her social status. The culmination of the FLQ s actions in 1970 is referred to as the October Crisiswhich translated into the kidnapping of British Trade Commissioner James Cross and the murder of Quebec Labour Minister Pierre Laporte. The October Crisis also represents Canada s only encounter with domestic terrorism and the third time the War Measures Act was invoked. The decision to invoke the War Measures Act was a controversial one made by Prime Minister Pierre Trudeauand Quebec Premier Robert Bourassa since it imposed national martial law. Upon examination of the FLQ s actions during the October Crisis, the response from the federal government and the impact on Quebec nationalism and the rest of Canada, it is apparent that the government handled the October Crisis tactfully and was correct to invoke the War Measures Act. The different cities, that composed Ancient Greece, experienced with these forms of governments one after another. Or sometimes neighbored cities would be ruled differently, by one man or a group of men. Some of the popular forms of ruling were a monarchy, aristocracy, tyranny, oligarchy and a more widely known form, democracy. Ancient Greeks proved to us how effective and how long these forms of ruling were able to last before falling apart. Let s look at each one of them and see how different they are form each other and what makes them similar. A monarchy is a political system where power is held by someone called a monarch. Wilde adds: Monarchs usually both hold and achieve their position through the right of hereditary succession (e.g. they were related, usually the son or daughter, of the previous monarch) (Wilde, April 2017). Although monarchies might have been popular in different parts of the world, it wasn t the case in Ancient Greeceas Cartwright pointed that out (March, 2013). There were only two states who qualified as monarchies in Greek. These states were Macedonia and Epeiros, but the monarch shared the power he had with an assembly (Cartwright, March 2017). One political system that showed some similarities to a monarchy is an aristocracy. This form of government is when the best (in ancient Greece s case, aristocrats) rules (Brouwers, June 2015). This article strengthens the Kinsey scale because it shows how subjective views can affect the lives of people for the worse. For example, the subjective bias view of Wardle, a law professor at Brigham Young University has affected the lives of homosexuals in several states because he: charged the legal profession and social scientists with an ideological bias favoring gay rights that has compromised most research in this field and the liberal judicial and policy decisions it has informed. He presented a harshly critical assessment of the research and argued for a presumptive judicial standard in favor of awarding child custody to heterosexual married couples. The following year, Wardle drafted new state regulations in Utah that restrict adoption and foster care placements to households in which all adults are related by blood or marriage (Biblarz Stacey 2001). These differences can be used to distinguish one from another by using the main properties for each compound. For example, if a substance could not conduct electricity and had low melting points, it would be labeled as a molecular compound since those properties correspond directly with the properties of a molecular compound. If a substance was able to conduct electricity and had high melting points, it would be labeled as a ionic compound because those properties correspond directly with the properties of an ionic compound. Covalent compounds are the opposite. Instead, covalent bonds can melt very fast under heat. Also, covalent compounds are not good conductors of electricity, whether in solid or liquid form. If you have a substance, you can verify whether its an ionic compound or a covalent compound by seeing whether it s a metal nonmetal relationship or nonmetal nonmetal relationship. The objective of the experiment is to find out which of the known substances were ionic compounds and which were molecular compounds based on their properties. We predict that the compounds with high melting points and conduction of electricity would be ionic compounds because those are the specific properties of an ionic compound. The compounds with low melting points and no conduction of electricity would be covalent compounds because those are the specific properties of a covalent compound. The solubility of the six compounds were checked when each compound was mixed in water and the conductivity of electricity was tested with the electrodes. High and low melting points were tested by putting different substances above a flame and seeing how long it took to melt. It was found that three mystery compounds were ionic compounds while the other three mystery compounds were molecular compounds. Materials and Methods : Before the experiment was initiated, qualitative observations were taken for all six mystery compounds and recorded. Necessary precautions like wearing safety ... • 27. Willy Loman And The American Dream Embedded deep within the historical the play Death of a Salesman , penned by the late Arthur Miller greatly portrays a specific ideology in regards to values, dreams and goals. Death of a Salesman vividly showcases the American dream that society tends to strive for even in the early 1900 s, the era in which the play was written. That dream of being a successful business person or vendor. As well as the theory that image and physical attributes are most important to gaining fruition! Miller does a unique job throughout the characters, Willy, Ben, and Biff to portray how diverse the American dream is in regards to one s perspective. Miller does a splendid job through the character Willy Loman; who plays an insecure, self deluded traveling salesman in his sixties who strived to fulfill the American dream for over thirty years as a salesman but, has realistically failed miserably on his goal in life! Willy pursues his American dream by believing that personality is the key to success rather than, hard work and innovation. This is proven when Biff made fun of the Math teacher and Willy is worried whether the kids liked it (Miller, Death of a Salesman, 1976) or not. This vividly conveyed that fact that Willy believes that success is acquired by being well liked . Willy an individual who craves attention and is governed by a desire for success! He constantly refers to his older brother Ben, who made a fortune in diamond mining in Africa, because he represents all the things that he desires for himself and his sons. Yet ironically Willy believes that any man who is manly, good looking, charismatic, and well liked deserves success and will naturally achieve it. Willy would often explain to his sons how to be successful in America, according to his ideals. Because the man who makes an appearance in the business world, the man who creates personal interest, is the man who gets ahead. Be liked and you will never want. You take me, for instance. I never have to wait in line to see a buyer. Willy Loman is here! The whole play is him alone on the stage giving the audience a look into his past through storytelling. When the other boy found out that Tim wanted to marry him, he shoved him into a ditch and made Tim take it back. It isn t a happy or funny part of the story but it is a powerful one. Born in about 869 and married at 16 years to secure an alliance to the Wessex Kingdom, she rose to a magnanimous position of power. She fought back the foreign invaders with her husband and later, her brother. Skinner Operant Conditioning Theory Operant conditioning is the reinforcement of a desired behaviour, learning can be achieved whereby a response will come to be controlled by association of a consequence. Operant conditioning is considered to be an extension of Edward Thorndike s law of effect explained as a person changing their behaviour to replicate positive consequences and avoid negative consequences. B. F. Skinner, professor of Psychology at Harvard University, expanded on Thorndike s theory (O Donohue Ferguson, 2001). This essay will analyse Skinner s development of the theory of operant conditioning. Skinner s theory and the studies he devised will be discussed and how they support operant conditioning. Skinner s studies were created to support his theory of operant conditioning. Skinner devised experiments that were based in a laboratory involved a box commonly called a Skinner Box. The aim of Skinner was to prove that operant conditioning was a more detailed theory than classical conditioning; by placing animals inside the box to be observed. In his experiments he used positive punishment that is adding an undesirable consequence for example electric shocks and positive primary reinforcement in this case it was food. Because she doesn t cling to ideas. The Tao is dark and unfathomable. How can it make her radiant? Because she lets it. Since before time and space were, the Tao is. It is beyond is and is not. How do I know this is true? I look inside myself and see. (Chapter 21, Mitchell). All Members Of Congress And Fellow Americans To all my members of Congress and fellow Americans: Today I will be addressing some of the issues that are happening in today s society and set a plan as to how we as Americans have to come together for the better and make a change. This country has grown tremendously in many areas since we ve experienced our last financial crisis. During our time of crisis there were many doubters who said that we could not make America great again and stating that we Americans were misguided. I believe that we have proved them wrong with the growth of the economy and deficits being cut by two thirds. This economy has touched so many lives through the rise of wages and growing job opportunities. The goal here now is to aim at working on common concerns such as the criminal justice reform, finding a cure and having more studies for those battling incurable illnesses, and protecting our rights as American citizens. As your president of the United States of America, I believe in giving everyone a fair chance as well as a second chance. With that being said, I believe there s a need to reduce the mandatory minimum for non violent offenders that are in the prison system. There should be no reason that a convicted sex offender should be released to society within a minimum of 5 years and the drug offenders must serve a minimum of 10 years or more depending on the level of the offense. • 45. Requirements For Querying The Web Of Linked Data 5.Requirement for Web of Linked Data. 5.1Approaches for Querying the Web of Linked Data. 5.1.1Live Exploration Approaches. This kind of approach make use of the character of ( Webs of Linked Data ), in the existence of data links. To execute a requested Linked Data query, live exploration systems perform a recursive URI lookup process during which they incrementally discover further URIs that also qualify for lookup. Thus, such a system explores the queried Web by traversing data links at query execution time. While the data retrieved during such an exploration allows for a discovery of more URIs to look up, it also provides the basis for constructing the query result. Live exploration systems may not need to look up all URIs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, a hybrid approach may use an index to determine a suitable set of seed URIs as input for a subsequent live exploration process. This process may than feedback information for updating, for expanding, or for reorganizing the index. An alternative idea is a hybrid approach that uses an index only to prioritize discovered data links and, thus, to control a live exploration process. 5.2 Querying of Web of Linked Data using SPARQL. We observed two interesting findings from the history of relational and XML databases. Firstly, from query perspective, it is desirable that an existing query language is extended to retrieve a new type of data, allowing information from two formats to be correlated. For instance, use SQL to query both existing relational data and new XML data. Secondly, from data management perspective, it is valuable to express existing data with a newly defined data model and query them with the corresponding query language. For example, publish relational data in an XML form for exchange purpose and use XQuery to retrieve them from databases. Here, we briefly summarize the potential interoperability of semantic web with relational and XML databases from data management and query perspectives. Table 1 illustrates some extensions of existing query languages for access to new types of the data. It is well known that SQL is extended to query both relational and XML data, namely SQL /XML, allowing SQL queries to create XML structures with a few ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. What Is Imperialism In Things Fall Apart As a simply written novel with an incredibly complex theme, Things Fall Apart gives readers a touch of cultural shock which manages to leave them unwilling to return home after the last page. Chinua Achebe, the author, bases the plot around the experiences his people group has with imperialism and uses events throughout the story to prove his opinion on this controversial occurrence in history. The tale centers around Okonkwo, an Ibo man determined to stay traditional, which becomes problematic when Europeans begin to take over African tribes and reorganize their governments. This experience exhibits imperialism, which most know of as the policy of extending the rule or authority of an empire or nation over foreign countries, or of acquiring... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a way for clansmen to solve problems among themselves, this judgment is vital to the continuous survival of the Ibo people. The Ibo people s ancestors run the court, with masks to hide their true identities and keep the illusion real to naive clansmen. Each egwugwu represents one of the nine villages of the clan, and all gather prior to the tribunal in a hut exclusive to members of the esoteric cult. Outside the private hut lies the ilo, the village green, where the Ibo hold these courts and the crowd gathers around the opposing parties and the stools specified for the elders to watch. The organization and work behind such an procedure supports the Ibo s civility in that citizens are using their time to settle issues that others have and work together to solve problems that may not even involve them. When a culture cooperates to achieve peace, it proves that their relationships with each other are healthy and without any bonds between citizens to hold a culture together, there will undoubtedly be separation which leads to falling apart. The fact that the Ibo do this supports their civility and that they do not need imperialism. Further evidence is provided when Evil Forest, the leader of the egwugwu, states We have heard both sides of the case... our duty is not to blame this man or to praise that, but to settle the dispute (93.) When a court hears both sides of a case, it proves that they value equality which is a key quality in a civilized society as it allows everyone in the clan to be treated the same and that prevents displeasure which could lead to a clan s destruction. Thus a judicial system becomes necessary to an established tribe and the fact that the Ibo people have one supports the claim of their civility and that they do not need ... • 47. Please Ignore Vera Dietz Summary Have you ever changed yourself for someone? Bought clothes that were popular, or changed your attitude for your friends or parents. Finding yourself when everyone around you is changing, morphing is one of that things that most people struggle with their entire life and sometimes it defines us and other times leaves us a pickle on a big mac. Please Ignore Vera Dietz is a novel about Vera the main protagonist going on with daily life like nothing happened after her best friend Charlie dies. This novel communicates the idea that you are always not the problem and that you need to step back and look at what you have, and self acceptance is the key to all your problems. Contemplation is a commanding thought; it can make things better or worse. Veras first big thought of contemplation is when her mother left the family, and weather or not it was her fault. It haunts her father that Sindy left and he dwells on her in the most minuate ways, like keeping her clothes in the closet or her class china wear on the cabinet. Vera always wonders if its her fault for her mother leaving because her mother in Veras words never wanted her. She is also confused on what she wants to do with her life after college, does she want to become a vet or just give up her dreams completely because everyone thinks that she is just going to become a stripper just like her mother. I struggle with the same things everyday wondering if my mother would have done if she didn t have me at such a young age. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
